Legumes Are My Friend

Feeling pretty satisfied with my 7.5 pound weight loss, I decided it was time to check out a local “ladies only” workout facility. As part of the tour, I was asked if I wanted to be weighed and measured. “Are you kidding?! NO!” But, of course, I knew it must be done. I cringed when seeing my stats on paper…how could this be true?

Well, that was yesterday. Today, I had my first workout. I did the full 30 minutes (a combination of circuit and cardio) plus 10 minutes of stretching. Pink-cheeked and sweating, I was glad to be finished. But I DID it and was still able to walk to my car.

I continue to have the evening carb cravings. I knew this would be the most challenging part for me. I’ve been trying to come up with activities to keep busy, but frankly, after non-stop days I just want to veg at night. I would love to hear how others manage this problem. Please… talk to me. I am out of ideas!

On that note, we (The Group) met with nutritionist Rachel Brandeis tonight. She suggested that since I do not eat meat, fish nor foul that my protein intake at dinner might be inadequate and this could be fueling the carb cravings. I will definitely consider this when planning meals. Thank you, Rachel, for addressing our individual needs and giving us great information pertinent to not only our weightloss goals, but to permanent lifestyle changes. Thanks also to Lynne Anderson, who set the whole thing up. It is a giant step in the right direction!

That’s all for tonight…
