These Bucs stop everywhere
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
What a difference a win — and a convincing performance — can make on the No. 7 front.
The buzzing over Vick’s middle digit has all but died down, except for the fine folks at NPR, who on Wednesday a.m. invited the AJC’s Jeff Schultz to talk about the incident, and the Falcons’ QB in general.
Money exchange:
Schultz: “He’s never given me the finger, and quite a few people in this city have.”
NPR Host: “I don’t want to ask you what you’ve been doing down there.”
That poor Weekend Predictions- and Tuesday Countdown-deprived soul.
In addition to the audibilizing against the Redskins, Vick’s getting more daring in what he says:
“Sometimes, you have to overcome coaching. All the great ones do.”
Keep it cheeky, No. 7.
The Kissing Suzy Kolber blog (I’m not making this up) has a name for the Redskins’ sorry display:
S*#$apalooza. Beware some of the language and certain subject matter.
Tampa Bay fans might have some worse pronouncements for the way their 3-9 team is stumbling. The three points scored against the Steelers in a 20-3 loss were on a last-second field goal — to avoid the shutout.
That’s the first time that’s happened in 73 years — 1933, to be exact. The first year of the FDR monarchy.
Nobody’s performing in TB, and the Bucs have scored a league-low 145 points.
Jon Gruden says he’s sticking with struggling rookie QB Bruce Gradkowski, even with Tim Rattay and Luke McCown in reserve.
Steve Young will be in the house, but part of Alumni Weekend. This is how Pravda’s promoting the game:
“Come and see them.”
Not the present Bucs, but the ones consigned to history.
Lots of unhappy fans are growling about Gruden, but not much has surfaced about his coaching future — not for the moment.
There’s some spin emerging about how dearly depared ex-NFL commissioner Pete Rozelle would have loved the “parity” afoot in the league, especially all those 6-6 teams NFC vying for the playoffs, including the Falcons.
Why not call it exactly what it is?

The player have been telling us on offense that greg Knapp is clue less the hole year please listen to what they are trying to tell you with out try to throw the hold team under the bus! Mike is a can do person and if his other team mate step it up we are going places. Donatell you need to bring pressure earley in games so we don’t get 14 points down in games. Note the Dallas Game they are going deep with there passing so get ready, We all know so for all we do don’t get beat deep. Play the safety need to play 3 yards deeper than he has been playing. More crossing routes for our reciver and they need to come back to the ball on pass routes . and! please go past the first down marker to get first down! and please catch the ball. we do this we win!!

Let me first apologize for the earlier post. It seems as though someone has hijacked my handle and is trying to spoof me in some way.
I am a very well-educated individual and I happen to have considerable insight into the game of football.
When I attended Oxford last summer, I spoke with the chaps over there about their version of football. We call it soccer, so it makes me chuckle sometimes.
Good day fellows. I look forward to the blogging with you from now on.

yeah, go ahead and laugh at the Buc’s luck this year. but you are wrong on fans coming to see this year’s Bucs. EVERY GAME is a sellout. The Falcons wouldn’t know anything about season sellouts.
got Lombardi? didn’t think so.

I would have thought very highly of MV7 had he made his donations $50,000 instead of the $5,000 minimum…. what’s a few more bucks to him?????? It would have gone a long way for his image, oh well!!!!
Again I ask, which Falcons will show up against TB?????

well its shut up or put up time, all Ga fan already knows that knapp is totally clueless about running an offense, period, thats not a surprisebut did anyone notice that against washington that mike called several audible in the game a first ,they all wroked but one ,you guess it a droped pass,I guess the coaching staff figured out that mike can also call a game, even a winning game from start to finish if given the chance, enough on offense ,defense , what in the hell is wrong with D.Hall your spped is killing the falcons, playing to far off on short yardage ,get your but up on the line and bump the man, timing is everythingand donatell get rid of the soft zone, the zone play completely, everytime you play it we struggle to stay in the game, apply pressure early in the games to force 3 and out for opp more. since all the coaches went to sleep, guys we need a power back, lindale white would work with the two backs you have, both full backs are to light and dont have brusing power either and for the sake of the francishe get two more quality ,proven WR,send the one you have to the practice squad,I bet they will hold on to the ball and strength out to make catches then, we watch and pay for cute in middle school and high school, this is the pro’s, the pay comes with high performance. The playoff: if we make it will the offense& defense step up to the plate. Mike keep doig what you know to do to win and it’ll happen. Mora if Ronnie lott is your idol, then where are the four Lotts in the secondary at,you lost your terror ,mathis and replaced him with a little puppy, wont work, you need 2 malloys two J.william and 2 ray lewis, stop depending on one guy, duplicate all the good, that way teams cant take advantage of you, and Hall needed to play a lot smarter than the last five games he’s the one getting burnt, tell him its time to shut up and show up for the game cause T.O is coming. oh yeah stop playing the defense man on man and play the gaps more , a lot of plays get called back for holding that way your pass rush will be more effective.BEAT THE bucs! go FALCONS!!!!!

There’s really no other way to put it than to say-this is it. Do or die. The playoffs start Sunday for the Birds and there is NO TOMMORROW!! We absolutely positively can NOT lose this game-PERIOD! I’m sorry for the caps, but I’m still a little bummed about that 4-game @#$!-stain losing streak we suffered. Man that stunk. Anyway, WIN, WIN, WIN! If you guys can’t beat the Yucs, then we don’t deserve to be in the playoffs after losing to both the Lions and Browns. Any of those losses alone I could deal with, but not all three. Wait, we would be better if people would catch the rock! It appears to me that we can go far if we can do that and defend better. Other than the first quarter, the defense looked good in that Deadskins game. We need to get better though if we want to stop the Cowgirls. Anyway, the Bucs most stop here Birds. As Young Jeezy would say- “Let’s get it!!”
GO FALCONS!!
P.S. Did you all see the Panthers QB Jacqueline Delhomme crying Monday night? HAHAHA! I love it when they lose. Everytime they showed him, I wished they would have played that song by Aerosmith, “Dude look like a lady!! Yea-yeah! Dude look like a lady!” They need to start calling him “Baby New Year”. What a trick.

I think the Falcons definitely need to be dumped on for the results so far this year, but has anyone realized that Vick is about to set a new record for rushing yards and he and Dunn will both be going over 1,000 yards. That is an awesome feat and should tell you that something is worth mining. The staff should totally be held accountable for the results this year.

Its a matter of who shows up in Tampa We have seen this Jeckle n Hide team play masterfully against the Bengals and Steelers and like crap the following two weeks. Who will it be and what is the key to this Sunday? They always seems to drive on the first posession and then go flat if they are having a bad game, so what is the difference between a Falcon team that is going to put up 30 points or 13? I think if they can stay away from drive killing penalties and drops, they can beat Tampa, Dallas, and Philly. Yes I said Dallas. I’ve saw flashes of the offense getting started again in Washington and I also saw a stupid drive killing block in the back by Roddey that negated a 20 yard run by Vick in the third quarter. I saw Algee drop a couple only to come back and make those catches later and Jenkins who caught a 22 yard rope that was a Vick audible. The defense played better, Brooking started making plays at the line, Abraham was after the quarterback on several plays and Michael Boley was popping running backs.
I think if the Falcons can stay away from mental stuff like 10 and 15 yard penalties early and make catches they will not only go on to beat Tampa by 10 or more, but we will beat Dallas too!!!! The offense will spark the D for a win in T.

What about Greg Knapp, AJC? When is anyone going to talk with Greg Knapp? I’ve got Greg Knapp on my brain and I can not get him out! Get out of my mind Greg Knapp! Get Out! Someone from the AJC please talk with Knapp just so that the rest of the AJC bloggers can for once be spared from my incessant, myopic ranting and raving about Knapp. Please, someone talk with Knapp and ask him the tough questions. The readers of the AJC deserve to have the answers but more importantly the readers deserved to be spared from being even more bored and annoyed with me than they usually are.
Also, y’all, since I, BirdDawg, am the self-proclaimed King of I Told You So, I just wanted to remind all of you for the millionth time that I predicted last spring that JT3 was a terrible QB and that Stafford was a great incoming frosh who deserved to start. I understand that anyone with a brain also had that opinion (the kid was a unanimous top 5 Qb recruit) but I just have this compelling need to remind people over and over and over and yet over again that I myself predicted such last spring. For some reason, I believe that if I tell everyone that I was the lucky scout who went out and recruited Stafford and was the only guy who believed in Stafford, that somehow the rest of you will eventually believe me.
I know. I know. My name is BirdDawg but I really should be called BirdBrain. But for now I would prefer to be called the King of I Told You So.
dyrtybyrd, would you please get an opinion of your own for once and stop riding the coattails of good ole BirdDawg, the self-proclaimed King of I Told You So. I do not need you to be the Bundini to my Ali. Get some original thoughts of your own for once in your life.
yes, folks, this has been a Jesus Was A Black Jew production. Bundini, like Sammy Davis and Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, were all Black Jews.

Atlanta is down on Mike Vick … the people in New York are down on Eli Manning. How about a Vick for Manning trade? If we think Mike gets lots of media attention in Atl, imagine in NYC. And Eli could give us the more traditional quarterback we seem to need. Both were basically number one picks that are working out as well as planned, so lets just swap and see what happens. What do you think?

** BirdDawg is really Matthew Cafaro. Despite his efforts to claim his name is Bill Jones, he is the disgraced Matt Cafaro. I still like him as BirdDawg and I liked him as Cafaro. I don’t care. I just want the lies to stop.
One thing that we can agree on is a disdain for Tito. **

Ny/ATL, I must disagree with you. With our offensive line (and I do mean “offensive”), Eli would get killed. Vick only survives because of his legs and even with them he still gets hit more often than not.

Eli Manning would never make it 3 weeks if he played behind the Falcons offensive line. He is a sitting duck in the pocket.

Let’s just hope the guys really try this week, and don’t think they can consistently beat NFL teams with the performance they turned in against the Redskins. That’s what worries me most about that win—if you watch the game, we really didn’t play well at all, but the players may seem to accept that level of performance as sufficient to win.
If they do, we can kiss playoff hopes bye-bye. And as bad as our coaching staff has been, Vick needs to keep his mouth shut.

Hey Y’all:
The next couple of weeks going into the end of the season we are going to see some real intense football. The Falcons are in the hunt. They are studying their plays and staying away from the nightlife. They are not listening to the media nor the newspappers. They are listening to themselves and what they need to do on the football field. THIS IS WAR!!!! Being close with each other and the coaches is paramount right now. This is were you will see the true Falcon championship team stand up. They are starting to get healthy at the right time. With all they have been through the heat with their give away games. The true essence of the Falcons heart as an organization is surfacing and I am telling when they come out of this expect nothing but good things. But first we have to go through the PAIN of preparing and implemnting the game plan for the final (4) four games. NO PAIN, NO GLORY”. ANd we know our Falcons want the GLORY as we as fans want them to. What the Falcons have shown me is that they are a bunch of “JUNK YARD DOGS” who get at it on that football field. This was when they were not at full strength. By learning from their wins and losses, they now know how to operate with what they have, and some. So “GET READY TO RUMMMMBLE” ATLANTA. I can’t wait until Sunday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! This is between us ATlanta fans. Don’t tell nobody.

hey mr dog been a falcon fan since 70 and am quite capable of making my own ideas and understanding of whats been going on this year we all, the true falcons fans who have gone thru a lot worse seasons than this know the truth and if you get it also thats great NOW WHAT DOES THIS TEAM DO? players beat coaches by doing what works on field so with that said mr vick and company do not runn plays that were called, they know like we do those plays are junk when called at that time with those players on field . WAY TO GO FALCONS PLAYERS FOR TAKING THE TEAM OVER COME GAME DAY,ITS OUR ONLY HOPE TO WIN OUT AND SHOW ALL OTHER TEAMS OUR TRUE TALENT ON FIELD.
MORE VICK CALLING OWN PLAYS THE BETTER / NO MORE NAPP BALL/ HELL YEA!!!
