Reg-gie! Reg-gie! Reg-gie!
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Damn, we’re gonna miss No. 1 for the Trade School.
And didn’t our own No. 1 finally come up big!
Not forgetting the much-maligned Georgia defense, with its second big game in a row.
Six in a row, how sweet it is!
More tomorrow.

Tony Taylor, with all of the digging you do, are you sure your major is not archeology or anthropology. Indiana Taylor, the Raider of the Lost Ball.
Great job, Stafford. You are coming of age. SEC champs again in 2007, national champs in 2008, stafford the #1 overall pick in 2008 nfl draft.
CMR, Arthur Blank just called to ask whether you would mind coming down to the Georgia Dome to teach Vick and the Falcons how a coach is supposed to help his team FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT! in order to come adversity and fight back to salvage what appeared to be a lost season.
MOMASS, the fans smacked you hard a few weeks ago with all of those boos the last time you played at home. Way to bounce back and overcome the adversity, young man.

Reggie Ball didn’t look any better as QB his senior year vs. his freshman year…0-4 you punk.
I bet CJ wishes he would have gone to UGA now.
Paul Oliver played a textbook game.
Stafford continued his maturation process…huge 4th quarter drive where he looked composed the entire time and Georgia was smart enough not to abndon the run.
MoMass is back.
Ware actually contributed and didn’t fumble, thank God.
Even Martrez made some good cathes early.
Any chance Coutu will be back for the bowl game, this kicking situation sucks.
Great win! ACC blows.
Hopefully, we get the other Tech in the Peach.

Awesome win for the Dawgs! Hate to be a buzz-kill (couldn’t resist, sorry), but a couple of things bother me about the game and season (aside from losses that should not have occurred). There seems to be a consistent lack of discipline that crops up at really, really bad times: Mikey Henderson’s early season hot-dogging that cost a touch, in another game I believe it was Battle that dove into the end zone on a TD, costing critical yardage on the kickoff, and Taylor’s totally unnecessary dive following the fumble recovery he took in on Saturday, that was almost negated when Tech parlayed the kickoff into field position and had a great shot at 7 points. I don’t know who the player was that drew the 15-yarder on Tech’s last drive, but that could have easily (well, conceptually easy discounting that RB was the QB) led to a tying field goal. These things should not occur and it is a coaching issue. I love Richt but this stuff is ridiculous and at some point is going to hurt the team. Evidently the penalty for this crap is not taken too seriously, assuming there even is a penalty.

Again - reluctantly - Georgia Tech must suffer through the ignominy of losing to a UGA team that from a talent and experience perspective is inferior (which in itself is a rarity). Even with UGA shooting themselves in the foot (stupid, stupid penalties) and the gift-wrapped fumble recovery - Tech has a chance to make a drive. Alas - the hope rests on quite possible the worst Division 1 4-year starter college football has ever seen. And as expected - the outcome seems almost inevitable.
Congratulations UGA fans. Good luck in the Peach Bowl.
(BTW - you may want to check the enthusiasm that will certainly annoint Stafford as a program-savior. 9 starters on defense are hard to replace - and the job the defense did the last 2 games means Willy M. stays put. Looks like you will need to outscore people next year to get back to 10 wins).

“My Boy”, Matthew Stafford done good out there today in spite of an “O” game plan that was set up to play “not to lose” as opposed to playing to win the game. I may be the only one but I’ll be glad when Inman has left Athens. Paul Oliverplayed like an All-American today and how fitting it was that he made that int. at the end. Anybody that says that Stafford isn’t a top notch QB is just dumb. His Coach put all the pressure possible on him and put him in the position where if we were to win he had to do it. What a load and what a pitch and catch with MoMass. Great win, now on to a bowl game and lets finish the season with another victory.

They both choke big-time and their teams lose. Had both been white good ol Terence would have crucified them long ago. I find it hard to understand why Gator fans want to come on this blog and bad mouth the Dawgs. You would think they would be thankful to Georgia and South Carolina for immensely helping their strength of schedule argument for the BCS. In fact the Dawgs and Gamecocks did more for your sorry a* reptiles than you did for yourself. Won’t really matter though because next week there are some Hogs who are going to run your asses back to Gainesville.
Great win tonight over a really good defensive football team. Stafford looks better and better and at least for right now it is clear that UGA got the best of the 3 freshman sensations.

As much as I hate to admit it the Bulldog notes are correct. Reggie single handedly lost 4 in a row…4 that Tech could have won if not for HIS poor decisions and awful mistakes. To lose tonight while the defense gave up only one touchdown was awful.
The sad news is that we couldn’t (or wouldn’t) go find someone or anyone to play quarterback for the last 4 seasons and our coaches couldn’t see how we were poisoned by a quarterback who couldn’t start for any other division 1 team.
Sorry fellow Techsters, the UGA coaches have better sense than to continue starting a player like Reggie. Hence 0 for 6 and we have to ask when its gonna get better.
Chan, we are watching.

This should serve as a note to any 4 or 5 star kid who thinks commiting to the trade school is a good idea.
Calvin Johnson could have had David Greene, DJ Shockley and Matthew Stafford throwing to him for the last three years.
Instead he chose Reggie, who would have been a scout team CB in Athens at best.
A decision that could cost him millions on draft day!

CJ may go around 5 in the draft, but Jarret at USC may go in front of him, because his team throws to him.
The point, if he has made this much national impact with those coaches and lack of talent around him, then what could have been - had he made the wise choice of playing with talent?
The difference between the top 3 picks and 4 - 6 picks? $10 million+ in guaranteed money.

Oh, how it feels to be a Tech fan, I guess we’ll never know! Anyhow, congrats jackets on a truly great season, really! Best Tech team I’ve seen in recent memory. Just not good enough to handle the worst dawg team in recent memory. To make matters worse, that was your only chance to stop the streak, Stafford will only get better, and the wreck is losing a lot of seniors, and likely a BIG junior!
Stafford’s comparisons to Elway were prophetic, especially watching him lead the late 4th quarter drive when we needed it. Hopefully the uncommitted recruits at the game were impressed with the comeback.
The SEC made a huge statement today, as there is no doubt the ACC is down and out. For the 2nd straight year, the ACCCG will be won by a team not ranked in the BCS top 15. And the ACCCG is only in it’s 2nd year!
I think Calvin would be wise to enter the draft after the season. He would be crazy to risk $$$$$ by breaking in a new QB! I also hope (although unconfident) that Paul Oliver returns to help the young defense to another championship run next year.
Great recovery, dawgs, to end the regular season! We’ll know soon enough who we’ll play in the Peach.

Maybe, Vandy and Kentucky would be middle of the pack in the ACC this year. As a Dawg fan, I can’t be happier that we won tonight; I have to admit that I’ve never seen a poorer utilized player than CJ for Tech. If a Offensive Coordinator worth a darn would have been making the calls tonight for GT, I think we lose. I know Oliver played a great game, but there was not a single ball thrown to CJ across the middle, or in situations where he could catch it and run. The last two years he’s had 4 catches and 26 yards, no TD’s. Ridiculous. For that reason alone I say Georgia Tech is Chantastic!

YOU GO BACK, JACK, DO IT AGAIN……………
Yeah Buck, your boy done good, real good! The prospects for the future look bright (no pun intended) and we have the foundation for a great run ahead. If we could just add a couple of those JUCO O-linemen you referred to earlier, at least 2 of which were at the game, to the impressive group we retain verbals from, the dawgs could be unstoppable no later than ‘08. And you have to figure that Florida’s luck is bound to run out, as ours did this year.
It doesn’t look like we’ll get back in the top 25 this week, as Clemson, GT, and BC (gotta love that ACC) were the only low end teams to fall today. There are no 4-loss teams in the current rankings, but if we can get past VT in Atlanta we won’t be denied!
I like our chances in that game, as Stafford has been weathered by heavy blitzing and emerged victorious.
Ahhh, victory! Today will not erase the pain of yesterweek, but I’ll enjoy this one with my Tech cousins for awhile! While this blog was being bombarded with the bug’s reckless rambling for weeks, I had a feeling they would soon regret it. The city of Atlanta is now on “mass suicide watch.”

MadMerf, I have a real concern, Does MR know how to handled a QB with the talent that Stafford has. Read Jeff’s column and notice how many times we ran the ball and put Stafford in a 3rd & long situation. Has MR let being a HC get to him? what I mean is that is he not having fun calling plays like he use to at FSU? I don’t know but 3 of us from across the country were wondering why Stafford was put in 3rd and long so many times.

Ray Gant (the human microphone) says Ball was kicking people in piles, and pushing (as we saw after his last interception). That shows what a classless guy he is. Remember his frosh year when he had to leave the game after a concussion, but not before talking smack to the UGA linebackers. This guy is an IDIOT!!

You pathetic losers. You are talking about college kids. Reggie is a college kid. How would you feel if when you were a college kid in your late teens and early twenties, and you, your son, your cousin, your nephew, your grandson, your brother, your friend, your neighbor, the guy you go to church with on sundays had to be constantly attacked and criticized by a bunch of creepy old alumni, spoiled brat undergrads, and jackass UGA fans all over a stupid football game that is played by a bunch of college kids. It is not right. I care about the dawgs as much as anyone but college football is college football. If he was being paid $130 million like Vick in the pros, then hell go for it. He is just a stupid college kid just like I was a stupid college kid and the rest of you were stupid college kids.
I will say this about Reggie. That kid tried harder than pretty much every player in the NCAA over the past four years. He left every ounce of effort, blood, sweat, and tears out there on the field for you. Were those QB skills limited due to height issues, the fact that he has a decent but not strng arm, and the fact that he has speed but is not wicked fast and quick like Vick or Pat White? Yes! SHould he have been playing safety instead? Yes! Is it his fault that he was the starter for the last 4 years? No! He was recruited to play the position and his coach never found someone else to take it from him! That is the coaches’ fault, not reggie’s fault! He just did what he was asked to do and I have never seen another player care as much or try as hard as he did.
Does he have a chip on his shoulder? Hell yes he does. He is 5 foot 8 inches tall trying to play a tall man’s position. That is the only way he could ever somewhat be a QB. Look at Doug Flutie, another tiny guy who had the biggest chip on his shoulder for 25 years in college and the pros. That chip was so big that Flutie had to spend 10 years in exile in the CFL before the Bills brought him back to the NFL. I would not say that Ball’s chip on his shoulder is any bigger than Flutie’s ever was. Did it come out misguided and misdirected and angry at times? Yes! But was he under constant attack during his entire late teens and early twenties by creepy adults who like to attack young college teenagers? Yes! So how would you expect a stupid college kid to act when he is being perpetually hounded by creepy alumni and spoiled brat undergrads? We were all stupid, immature, and overemotional at that age and we all did and said things we regret.
I think that if Reggie had played for a better program or a better coach, the perception of him would have been much different. I compare him to the Newton dude up at South Carolina. Under Holtz and Spurrier, the newton guy was a coaches dream. He started games at QB, RB, WR, Safety, and played special teams. He excelled at times at all positions but was really a jack of all trades and a master of none. SO, i think that if Reggie had had a better coach who brought some other QB recruits in, Reggie could have been a change of pace, lightning in a bottle QB late in a game or a season like Newton was for a stretch this season, or he could have been a decent change of pace Dave Meggett like RB, a decent eric metcalf like WR, a hellcat on special teams, and probably a very good safety who would have ripped people’s heads off. SO, i think a big part of the problem with reggie was that Chan sucks and that Chan should have found other good QBs to play and then used Reggie in that jack of all trades role where he is just valued by the team and fans and alumni and undergrads as a good hard nosed football player who will do anything to help the team win. BUT Chan sucks so it was not meant to be.
Granted, Reggie’s comments after the game were regrettable and they do tick you off. But did you see him at the end of the game? Just by looking at Reggie Ball and his body language, no tech fan was more angry, embarrassed, humiliated by that performance than Reggie was. I mean he did not even walk over to give the little kissass obligatory handshakes with stafford, richt and the dawgs after the game because he was so disgusted with himself and his team for losing that game. Contrast that with MV7, who last week after that disgusting ravens loss was seen by all of us going over to other team, giggling, giving high fives, and just have a yuckfest and grand ole good time with Ed Reed and Mcnair. As a falcons fan, I wish we could take even half the competitiveness, heart, and desire out of reggie and combine that with the talent of Mr. Vick.
Do I understand how disappointed you all are yet again with reggie and the bugs? Of course. But please remember that kid may have been limited in ability but he gave you everything he had for 4 years.
Besides, bug fans, you have got to play in the conference championship game next week. Yes, your QB played bad. Do you not think that he and his family and friends are going to read this crap? How is all of this negativity going to help the confidence of your QB and team when you need him to be the difference maker or at least to play decent enough to allow CJ to be the difference maker next week?
Stop being so selfish. Rally around your QB. you only have two games left with him. Those two games however are important ones: ACC championship game against a terrible Wake Forest team and then the bowl game. You need him to play well. So stop the silly selfish woe is me, napoleon complex all you techies seem to love to have and rally around your team and QB.

I don’t pay any attention to other QBs. No, my interest is watching and charting plays that our”OC” sends in to our QB. We should have won that game by another 10-15 points, so I’m in agreement, why worry about the childish ways of Reggie. Focus on our “O” and the Dawg QB because the AU game followed by the “bug” game showed that as Matthew goes, so go the Dawgs.

Remember, in order to talk the talk you must first walk the walk, so why not crawl out of your “all powerful SEC schedule” & play one of the nations REAL powers like OSU, Mich, or USC. Oh that’s right-in order to leave Athens someone on your team would need to learn to read a map, & we know that will NEVER happen.

A terrible game played by two bad teams. College football in Georgia has dipped to the likes of Mississippi. Tech is an embarassment to be playing in the ACC title game and it is obvious UGA has slipped back behind programs such as FLA, Arkansas, LSU and Tenn in the SEC. Pathetic!

Great win dawg fans. Congrats. I really thought both defenses played a great game and Matt Stafford looked great down the stretch. Reggie Ball on the other hand looked horrible. I was so disappointed with him. He had played fairly well this season with the exception of the Clemson game and I really thought he had a shot against UGA this year. Lesson learned. You guys still own him. I have never been so happy to see a guy graduate. Good luck in the Chik-fil-a Bowl against Va Tech

Ralph,
This is college football…like it or not. It is funded mainly through financial support from alumni and friends. To criticize a quarterback or a running back or a linebacker or any other player is way in line. To express concern over a coach and his decision to “stick with” a player that has a history of making poor decisions is within the limits of reason for people that support a program. Believe me, I’ve heard plenty of concern from my UGA friends (but after watching Stafford last night I think you’ve found your guy) about your quarterbacking.
Personally I’m glad Reggie is leaving. I think his poor decisions have taken away several wins from a bunch of talented guys who have left their hearts on the field and deserve better. He hasn’t performed on or off the field in my view and isn’t shy about creating fodder in the press. Of even greater concern is the fact that our coaches refuse to see what many of us who support Tech saw a long, long time ago. Frankly I would have found some kid in a fraternity house somewhere on campus that had some athletic ability and a good head on his shoulders. I can think of a few games over the past 4 years that may have played out with different results.
Congrats to the Dogs on a tough win. I think your team is coming together. On our side of the ball I think our defense had better score some points or Reggie may have won his last game.
48 years, 2 generations and small but regular financial support gives me the right to state my point. My father played for Bobby Dodd and once gave me some advice that has worked well for me….”If you are going to base your life’s happiness on Tech football you are in for a tough ride”. That may apply to your side as well. Like Tech you are probably not as bad as you sometimes think and maybe not as good either. I do think UGA is one of the premier programs in the country with an outstanding coach. You’ll have seasons like this on occasion but not too often.
Congrats again and good luck in the bowl game.

Congrats to all the coaches and players. Once again Martinez turns in a great performance. I have been hard on him, but Florida, Auburn, and Tech were all first rate by the D.
I predicted a UGA win by 7+ and was wrong. The missed 27 yard field goal (the agony) and the botched snap at our own 25 were two factors that hurt us.
Daniel Inman single handedly killed two seperate drives with senseless penalities. He was responsible for 20% of the drives going nowhere.
Field position in the first half was dreadful, if we had some decent field position, I think we would have scored a TD in the first half.
Great game by the Dawgs. Congrats

I don’t think I was taking issue with you. You seem somewhat reasonable. And you are right. We all have the right to get angry and criticize. The Lord knows I do it about as bad as anyone else. that’s why we are fans. Your comments about Reggie to me seem fair and a very honest assessment. So, it is not people like you I have a problem with. It is the sickos who seem to want to personally attack these college kids. I just find that very strange.
Alot of the attacks on Reggie are just plain ugly. You also have to understand that I myself am not a big fan of Reggie Ball at all. I still remember that first game of his career against BYU. I remember seeing that game where he showed glimpses that were exciting but overall did not play well. I thought then this kid has got some potential. BUt he never got any better. Every game for the next 4 years was BYU Redux. I do not think that was due to lack of effort though. I think poor coaching and limited QB abilities had more to do with it. I hope you know what I mean.
You would not be a fan if you did not express your views and opinions. Just be fair about it. don’t take cheap shots. and don’t ever personally attack anyone. realize that he is probably reading it, his family is reading it, his friends at school and back home are reading it. be as brutally honest as you need to be but do not personally attack people and take cheap shots. be fair about it all.
that applies to me and the rest of the dawg fans. there have been moments over the years and especially this year where there have been some vicious personal attacks made on several players.
As for the coaches, They are being paid millions out of my alumni donations and from my hard earned money through taxes. SO give them all the hell and personal attacks they deserve for all I care

Am I hearing that some Tech fans actually think that Miami will hire Chan Gailey? This would be the worst news possible for UGA fans, but there is nothing to worry about.
Why would Miami, a school that demands 10 win seasons, hire a coach that has never accomplished that. Even in the NFL where you play 16 games.

To BUCKEYES#1: Don’t for one second talk about schedules. Illinois, Purdue, Minnesota, there’s some powerhouses. Oh, don’t forget Northwestern. Michigan is the only school worth two cents you’ve played and that’s only because they beat a second rate Notre Dame team that pads it’s schedule with service acadamies and loses to any shred of competition. Get over yourself, check your facts, and you will see that over the past 20 years(and maybe longer) the SEC has benn ranked in the final polls more often(and with a larger variety of teams than the “Big” 10.

I’m glad Inman is a Sr. and will be gone! Chip Towers asked in his column, “does Ga. need a full time “OC”? After yesterday, in my mind the answer is yes! MR said that the most fun he’s ever had was as an “OC” sitting in the booth and simply calling plays. The HC job involves so much that I hope the day will come when he’ll conentrate on just being the Head Man and having a true “OC”. It worked with him, Bowden and FSU so why not at Ga. We put our “O” in a lot of 3rd and longs yesterday. Field position meant a lot more a few yrs. ago than it does today. Does anyone ever wonder why USC always gets these recruiting classes they do? A big reason is that Pete Carroll promises every recruite that they can play as a freshman. They do, so yr. after yr. the are ready to go. Just a thought.

Buck, couldn’t agree with you more about the OC. With their backs to the wall, the staff “let it loose” in the Auburn gameplan, and it seemed to fit Stafford’s abilities, including the unexpected running success, yet returned to the same conservative “play not to lose” approach against a great GT defense.
Stafford was in a comfort zone in Jordan-Hare, passing to set up the run, and it kept the Tigers off balance the entire day. I saw the same style of offense on our winning drive, as GT was on it’s heels, and we never abandoned the run.
If CMR could stay with Matthew’s “comfort zone” as the base offense, at least until we can get the next generation O-line comfortable with run blocking, we could keep the opponet’s defenses honest and spread the field.
Martinez reestablished himself as a D-secondary guy, holding AU and GT to ridiculously low passing numbers in back-to-back games. We’ll miss Tony Taylor and maybe even Battle back there, let’s just hope Oliver comes back to give us another All-American DB to keep the young guys fresh.
The seniors go out winners, and in closing, can we please go out and find people who can kick and punt? This season proved that depth is needed at those positions as well.

First of all, I’m a Tech grad and fan and always will be. However , I admire UGA and CMR the way they hung on thru tough times and turned their season around. I feel that , unlike Tech , UGA has a QB that “fits” their coach…cool calm and collected under pressure. Stafford should have a great career, if Richt stays. Ball and Gailey are about as opposite as two personalities can be and they never really “fit”, even after 4 years. Secondly, Bo Schembechler at Michigan, said he prepared for his big rival , OSU, every week of the year. I can’t believe Tech spent more than one week developing their offensive game plan (Patrick Nix) . Two passes to Calvin Johnson ???? Why not have some surprise plays, just for this game. I saw a lot of them from other teams playing their rival games over the last few days. And , speaking about rivals . I moved to Wisconsin from Ga 17 yrs ago. Sure the Badgers are fun , but they don’t have an “in-state” rival. I miss the intensity the game brings out in both sides. But seriously, some of the comments from so-called supporters on both sides sound kind of pathetic, really. Enjoy the rivalry ,support your team, “hate ” the other guy, but remember it’s called “Clean , Old-Fashioned Hate” . Go Jackets, Beat Wake….

Richt may not win them all, but he has us in every game. We have work to do and we can be critical, but Richt has earned some serious credibility and I think we need to give him the benefit of the doubt.
You weren’t overly critical, just disappointed when we lost. That’s natural. It’s the fans like that guy in Ohio who said he was taking down his bulldog flag from his office (after our first loss). That is not a true bulldog, not even close.
Lets finish strong and GATA for next season!

Just to refresh-OSU played in the Fiesta Bowl last Jan & beat ND 34-20. And just to refresh-uga played in the Sugar Bowl(at home), & lost to WVU.
When uga is in the same league as OSU, then we can talk-til then, if you dare, go to our web site & see our record of national championships & Heisman trophy winners. Til then-keep trying to justify in your own minds how good you are. Records speak for themselves.

BUCKEYES#1:
OSU is a great program with great tradition. They are the best team this year in college football.
UGA has owned the big 10 head to head the last 20 years. Wins over Ohio State with Robert Smith, Michigan State with Andre Rison, Wisconsin with Ron Dayne (heisman winner), Wisconsin with the DE, Purdue with Drew Brees, Purdue without Drew Brees. I may be leaving one out, but we HAVE NOT LOST to a big 10 team since the 70’s and are at least 6-0 against the teams we played (all in bowls so they had to be decent teams).
UGA says bring the big 10 on anytime. The only big time program we have not played from the big 10 during this huge period of time (25+ years) is Michigan. They are a great program is is OSU, but so is UGA.

GTButmad,
Thank you for a reasonable GT post. Tech is getting better with more athletes every year it seems, and looks to be a major challenge in the future with the improved recruiting (although I do hope that we also improve significantly). People forget that the other sides’ posters could easily be their neighbors, co-workers, customers, fellow Falcon fans, ugh, etc. - other than a college affiliation, they may have much in common.

Are the post season Bowl gods crazy or playing court jester in the possibility of GT matching up with LSU in the Orange ? Now, possibility is the key. If this match up occurs, I’ll take LSU and the 47 points…After all, GT has Reggie…Go Vols

BUCKEYESWINLESSvsSEC,
Refresh us on your record against SEC competition in the last 10 or so glorious years. ‘95 is as far back as I could go (USATODAY) and I see where you lost to Tenn. in ‘95 Citrus Bowl, and consecutive losses to So. Carolina in ‘00 and ‘01 Outback Bowls. No wins, not even one, but 3 losses. IMPRESSIVE!!!!

As a Big Ten fan, I think it’s fair to say the only time an SEC team plays OSU is when they’re down, the SEC team never makes it to a big bowl and faces them. This was mostly due to the Rose Bowl tie in. I don’t think there’s been a matchup in a bigger bowl than the Citrus. Any SEC team that played them would be destroyed this year, that much is certain. The same goes for Michigan, either team wins the SEC this year hands down.

Hey Reggie why did you run off the field as soon as the game was over? Where was that sportsmanship? You are nothing but a poor sport and rotten person who showed his true colors after his team lost the game.

There is really nothing to say to counter these lude comments.
UGA is engaging in Mark Twain’s comment by opening their redneck mouth’s and proving they are fools.
Ride high while you can, the pain train is coming.
Now everyone in Athens back to your single and double-wide trailers and take care of sis and mama, they have needs.

Buckeyes- who the fu* do you guys play every year that is worth a sh!! MICHIGAN!! That’s it! NOtre Lame plays all 4 service academy’s, stanford, and unc and they are a BCS team?!?!?! PLEASE!!! You guys play noone!! Check the rankings. How many SEC teams are in the top 16 BCS teams? 5! We play all of those teams every year. Throw in Tech and that’s more than half of our games against top ranked opponents! Who is it that is scary on your schedule? Is it N.Illinois,Cincy,Penn State, Iowa,Bowling Green, Mich. State, Indiana, Minn., Illinois. N.Western? Texas is decent at best and Michigan is very strong. Don’t make me laugh with your claims of being elite with that schedule. That schedule is laughable and you should be embarrassed to have to play it!!!

Geez.
Mark…we lost. Georgia won. I have UGA alum friends and I suspect you do too. Be sad about the loss, be embarrassed about our offesive blunders, take the ribbing from your pals and give it back the next time we win (hopefully next year). But please don’t represent our fans like this.
This is worse than the loss.

GTbutmad, I think Mark is venting at the Ohio State twit infesting this blog, at least in his last entry. If there’s something further up the chain that gigs the DAWGS, then I stand corrected.
You guys go win the ACC Championship since we’re not gonna do something similar this year. Friggin’ Lizards are taking over SEC sports. CRIKEY!!!

REGGIE # 1 for a reason. He was our “other” best player…for the DAWGS that it. From throwing the interception Saturday to throwing the ball out of bounds on 4th down a few years ago. WOW no engineer there!!!To quote #1, “we hope to go to a BSC bowl game” He doesn’t even know it is B C S!!! Georgia is going to miss him.LMAO

The Peach Bowl is going to be very interesting.
The Dawg’s defensive scheme looked pretty darned good to me as I watched the game. We had some luck on the ground but you really shut us down with zone coverage that resulted in double (even triple) coverage on Calvin. Va Tech is going to bring some different looks and they are pretty balanced on offense. They aren’t near the top of the conference on either passing or rushing but they are right dead in the center. Their defense will give your offensive line one heck of a good test. They are at or near the top of the conference in sacks and in total defense but there have been some big plays against them.
Hopefully your skill players will have a good game…that’s how we beat them and if Stafford continues to step up I think you have the talent to beat them too.

GTbutmad-i’m not a bug fan, I’m a dawgs fan. I was venting to the OSU fans on here trying to tell us that they are so much better than the SEC. I used to actually root for GT and Georgia State when they didn’t play UGA. I like to see our state do well against National competition. Since reading these blogs this football season i’ve changed my mind completely. You guys suck yet you run your mouths like you guys have proved something. You say that “ugag” sucks to and is mediocre? We had a slight drop off this year losing to Vandy and UK but you know what, nobody goes 30-0 against conference opponents. They havn’t beaten us in 10 years so it was bound to happen sometime. We’ve lost to LSU and Auburn the past couple of years and LSU won a NC and Auburn went undefeated and got robbed out of theirs. We’ve also beaten those teams. We routinely lose to Fla. (another top program in the country) just like you routinely lose to us. We’ve put more players in the NFL than all but 3 or 4 schools in the country. I just don’t get it. NEWS FLASH: You school is no longer academically superior to UGA so you can throw that argument out the window too!

BUZZGT - UGA has an overall winning record against Ga(y) Tech and the Gaytors. Keep trying Nat & here’s to hoping you can halfway fill up the stadium Saturday and the World’s Smallest Outdoor Zima Social.

I’ve just finished watching the ACC Championship game. NO dollars of mine will ever cross the account of Alexander Tharpe until Mr. Gailey and his offensive coordinator Patrick Nix are gone. Period.
I’ve seen enough.
