UGA blog finds new home
Morning all. As I’ve said a couple of times this week, we’re converting this blog over to a WordPress platform and it will be a permanent move the first of next week.
Those of you who are regulars probably know that I’m not what you’d call techno-wizard when it comes to these things. But from what I understand the technology offered in this new format should make the blogging and commenting experience better for all. Of course, I’ll be learning as we go along, too. But I’m hoping to provide more pictures and video and things like that which should bring the blog more to life.
Of course, this blog is nothing without all you guys so I want to heartily invite (read: beg) you to come over to the new site by CLICKING HERE ON THE NEW ADDRESS and save it in your browsers. As of Monday, Feb. 23rd, this will be the permanent home of the UGA blog you so love or, in the case of some of you, love to loathe. If you’d prefer to copy and paste or just memorize, the new address is: http://blogs.ajc.com/uga-sports-blog/.
See at the new place!

More dancing Dogs vs. Florida?
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Well it’s here. Georgia-Florida week. I remember this game coming up in this forum way back in the summer. The talk then was of it being a monumental contest between two undefeateds fighting for the right to keep their national championship hopes alive.
Drop the “undefeated” and that’s still what you have.
While both teams have one (bad) loss, the ultimate accomplishment is still possible. The Bulldogs (7-1, 4-1) are sitting sixth in the latest BCS rankings released Sunday. Florida (6-1, 4-1) is sitting at eighth. The winner most certainly will become the highest-ranked one-loss team in America. As long as only one other team remains undefeated and Florida or Georgia defeats Alabama in the SEC Championship Game, it’s doubtful the SEC champion would be passed over.
So with that as a backdrop, I’m planning to do what I said I was going to last week. That is, give me your questions for Coach Mark Richt and the players. If I get a lot of the same suggestions I’ll actually take the most relevant ones to them and try to get some answers. I won’t have access until Tuesday but I’ll repost then.
Foremost on a lot of people’s minds I’m sure is Georgia’s celebration dance from last year’s game (or unsportsmanlike act, as the Gators prefer to call it). Not going to be able to get you any commentary on that as both coaches have issued a gag order to the players on it and refuse to answer themselves. Otherwise they’re just trying to avoid the issue.
“I think it’s old news,” Florida coach Meyer said. “I’m sure that old guy (Meyer) warned our players about it. It has nothing, no bearing whatsoever on this year’s game. It’s two teams battling for the SEC East and it has no bearing whatsoever.”
Said Richt: “That’s really, really old news and I’m not going to comment on it.” Then he referred everybody to the text of his statement about it from Media Days in late July.
So that’s about all there is about it right now. But I’m sure some stuff will seep out before the end of the week. These guys are young. I’m sure somebody will say something.
But seriously, let’s hear your thoughtful questions. In the meantime, feel free to comment, er, freely as you always do. I’ll be checking in all day.

Looks like both teams will not comment on last years game, which is good. Let’s do our talking on the field…
Unfortunately, the media will play it up ad nauseum.
One thing is for sure- this is going to be a knock down drag out slugfest…

HEY CHIP-How about my reverse I have been begging for since the UT game???? I finally got it!!!
Much props to Bobo. That was a great game plan and excellent play calling.
The play call to White on the blitz was great!
I hope the celebration doesn’t over shadow the fact of the importance of this game for THIS YEAR’S TEAM.

It was a silly controversy from the beginning. From the perspective of the rules book and good sportsmanship, Coach Richt should not have suggested it and the Dawgs should not have done it. The Dawgs were doubly penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct. The Gators had three quarters to answer, but it was the Dawgs’ day in Jacksonville. Case closed.
It’s a new season, and there’s plenty at stake without babling on about the “celebration.” BCS no. 8 vs. BCS no. 6. First place and the likely East Division championship. An opportunity to play in the SEC championship game in Atlanta. Staying alive in the race for a BCS championship berth. A 94-season rivalry. There’s plenty for which to play without emphasizing the “celebration.”
The media needs to try harder for an interesting angle, rather than always taking the path of least resistance. Regardless of what the talking heads may say, I predict that it’s going to be one hell of a game, Dawgs.

I would like to know what kind of adjustments our defense is going to make to allow less yards and less points. Our secondary made a duo of mediocre LSU QB’s look much better than they were supposed to be. Making a few tackles would be a nice start. I also would like to know why we don’t have a punt returner who can do anything except call for a fair catch. Lastly, I can’t figure out why Moreno sometimes takes himself out of the game in key situations. It’s almost like he already knows he’s gone next year and he wants King to get as much experience as he can.

Chip,
When we scored that first touchdown last year (running the ball on every snap of the drive, or almost everytime)and the entire GA team stormed the field and began to celebrate; Gary Danielson, knew exactly what Richt was doing and so did every UGA fan.
I told my wife and children, that was the greatest single act of motivation in the FL series, that would change the UGA-FL series for years to come; win or lose.
And to see the reaction of Urban Meyer and the FL bench was PRICELESS! And to add insult to injury, they tried to “ONE-UP” the brilliant ploy by GA and failed miserably.
The old saying that a picture is worth a thousand words; well DVR replay is infinitely tells a greater story, so much so that a novel was put on the booksellers list. SEE Urban’s Bio.

At this point I want to see finally see the speed of Florida. We have heard all year about Harvin, Rainey, Demps and Co. Lets see how the D matches up. Also ready to see this “year older” defense attempt to slow down our O. Tebow is healthy this year,so this will be an offense running on all cylinders. This is a game that is set up for a No Excuses Saturday.

This game is going to be one for the ages.
My question to UF fans like ATL Gator or anyone else. Is it jsut me as a DAWG fan or does the anticipation of this year’s game trump the last few years or beyond? Just wanted a Gator fan thought.
Yesterday while watching the Falcons game with a Gator buddy this Saturday pretty much ruled covnersation.

Offensively, UGA has to stay with Florida step for step…and they can. The whole ball of wax will fall on our defense. Can they slow the Florida offense down and get a few quick outs. Florida will score their points and so will UGA. It’s going to come down to which defense shows up with bad intentions. Our offensive line REALLY surprised me at LSU. I hope the trend remains in Jacksonville. I predicted that UGA would lose to LSU 24-17. I hope I’m just as wrong about this one. Call me a pessimist…….

Chip, Obviously Coach Richt is not going to reveal his gameplan for Saturday but I would like to stick a few bugs in his ear through some questioning. Last year we had great success in slowing Florida down by pressuring Tebow. I believe that this will be essential again this year if we are to win. As stated earlier I know Coach Richt is not going to tell publically how he plans to pressure him but I wanted to point out that six sacks last year was a key to us winning and I hope CWM has a gameplan to get pressure. Also on offense as seen this past week against LSU and last year against the Gators try to create big plays. Rivalry games are won and lost on big plays and I believe that our big play potential on offense matches up well against Florida’s ability to defend it. Maybe even a fake punt or field goal, half-back pass, or even just throwing the bomb a few times I believe will be very important.

Chip, I was wondering about the use of the smaller jets the dawgs employed for the LSU game. Will the dawgs use the same style jets to get to Jax to cut down on the traveling time? I think this will do wonders for the team. Gotta stay as fresh as possible, cause we need every possible angle we can come up with. GO DAWGS, see Ya’ll in Jax.

Questions for Coach Richt:
1.) Is Tripp Chandler healthy ? 2.) Will B. Sutherland play TE since Chapas is playing well ? 3.) QB pressure being the key to stopping Tebow, any thoughts to getting more speed on the ends(ie a LB) ? 4.) Is Aron White ready for more snaps in a big game given his catch Saturday? Can he block well enough in the running game ? The 3 person rotation(4 if figgins can play) creates some interesting matchups/schemes that should give any DC nightmares.

It will be interesting to see how Florida responds to what the Dawgs did last year, but I have to make one comment about the LSU game this past weekend. We have never been treated nicer while visiting an opponent’s campus. Every single fan we met was as nice as they could be. Perhaps the humbling game against the gators tempered their enthusiasm, but our group had a great time and can not wait to see them in Athens next year. I hope all Dawg’s fans experienced what we did while visiting the Baton Rouge and New Orleans. Now we know the treatment will be differently this weekend.

The dance had no bearing on last years game (UF came right back and scored on us 4 or 5 plays after the dance) and the same will be true this year.
Great win @ LSU and as we look forward to the Cocktail Party I would like to know…
Is there a different personnel group or scheme that can change our pass rush?
Are there any additional focus/drills coming this week to improve the tackling and angles taken against the speedy wideouts (not knit picking a great win but our tacking on D was terrible)?
Bobo seemed like he had a copy of the LSU D plan…play calling as been marginal at best so far but Saturday every call he made in key situations worked to perfection. Did they see more tendencies on film and how much of it was MS checking into better plays?

D. Ellis——Yup. Anticipation is higher for this game than it has been in at least four years. Last season, the Gators were already out of the national mix by the time of the WLOCP and were young and inconsistent on defense. Two seasons ago, the Dawgs struggled through the first half of the season, and it was just another game to the Gators (well, until it was played anyway; then it was more of an endurance match). This year, both teams are still in serious SEC and BCS contention, this is as good as both teams have been on both sides of the ball in the same season for a while, and both coaches and teams seem to be preparing for if it were a make-or-break game for the year … and the other guys winning one does make it more interesting.

What will the defense do to address the poor tackling displayed against LSU? I know everyone is really giddy over this win, and rightfully so, but the defense did not play well at all. We aren’t going to get two pick 6’s every game so forget about that. They were either out of position or wouldn’t make the tackle when they were in position. I am not a member of the “Fire Martinez” club or anything, but some things need fixing. I have confidence in the coaching staff and player’s ability to fix this problem but I’d just like to know what they are going to do about it.
Fortunately, I think our fast defense matches up a little better with Florida’s offense than it did with LSU’s offense. LSU ran it right down our throats similar to what Alabama did. I’m not sure Florida has the horses in the backfield to do that. It won’t matter though if our guys can’t tackle. We need to be more physical on defense and pop these sissy little Florida “speedsters” right in the mouth. We’ve got to have 3 or 4 defenders flying to the ball. I want to see how fast they are pealing their a$$ off the turf. That’s what we need to see on Saturday folks. Our defense must win this game for us.

Well as an LSU fan please let me say congrats to the bulldawg nation. That game was tuff for me to swallow but I guess all teams go through something like this every now and then.
I was very surprised at how your o-line handled the d-line from LSU. I do have to say that I had alot of fun with a few bulldog fans down in Baton Rouge after the game (thanks for the drinks I needed at that point). I can’t wait for next year when we can come to Athens and hopefully walk away with a win this time.
I just wanted to say congrats and not make any excuses as to why we lost. UGA was the better team that day. Good luck this week against UF.

I am not that interested in dancing ever since the Gold Club closed.
Maybe I’m confused. Is this a football blog or a review of the Atlanta Ballet? The media are the only ones bringing this stuff up. Terence Moore’s article has been posted for several weeks.
Why not talk about football?
The story in this game is Florida’s improvement on defense since last year, not some dance routine.

Why has Urban Crier changed his tone about “celebration-gate?” At Media Days he made a big deal about it, and said he wanted payback this year. Now he doesn’t want to talk about it. Why? It was a dead topic until he revived it in August. He may not talk to the press about it, but I guarantee he is using it motivate his team.
My question is: What will Richt and staff do in practice this week to correct the poor tackling, if anything? Why after 6-7 games has tackling regressed?

ATL Gator-I can imagine when the toher team wins one every once in a while it makes it a bit more eye opening on the schedule.
This is awesome though. Both teams going into this game knowing their goal at the beginning of the year comes down to this week. I tihnk Ican speak for both sides of fans where we had obviously hoped for both of us to be in the top 5 coming into this week. But I won’t complain one bit.
This game is going to be great. Bottom line. Period point blank.
I have to agree this is the most balance on BOTH sides of the ball coming into this game. My thought is this is th emost evenly matched game in years and years.
Can’t wait and Good Luck!

One of the most poignant moments in the LSU game last week was the sideline shot of Richt addressing the troops on the sidelines before the fourth quarter. Although the audio was not available, the body language and the finger pointing that was displayed indicated that some serious coaching was in progress. Even the commentators noted this.
That’s what I like about CMR. He is a gentlemen and a fine Christian. He loves to win, and as many of his players have said ,”Coach is a serious dude.”
Win or lose, our program is in good hands, and I will take CMR over any coach available. He will have a game plan for the Gators and will expect to win the game.
Kudos to Bobo for a finely called game at LSU. The breakout game all of us were looking for.

Hey Chip, heres my question. It seems that UGA’s defense has a better time agains “finess” type teams. When we play teams like LSU or Bama that can run it up the gut with power football they tend to give up more yards and points. Does the UGA defense match up with UF’s offense better then most teams?

Chip, Ask Gamble how it felt being LSU’s #1 receiver last week. I am proud of the Dawgs going into LSU’s house and coming away with a dominating win like that. That is one of the toughest, if not the toughest stadiums to play in in the entire country. Hopefully we are on the upswing to finishing the drill this year like we did last year. Can’t wait till Saturday, it ought to be awesome. The LSU game was a nice tough game and should have us focused on UF.

If I remember correctly, Florida routed LSU by 30 pts and stiffled LSU RB Charles Scott to less than 40 yards. Charles Scott biggest run was at the end of the Florida game. Even though you won by 14 pts against LSU…Charles Scott amassed 144 yds against your defense. Not only is Tebow healthy, but we now have other playmakers. Be concerned.

Chip;
Please ask Coach Richt, if you win the coin toss, do you plan to take the ball first?
I think you should put your best players on the field first. In my humble opinion, Stafford and Moreno are the best players on the field for either team. I know coaches like to set the tone of the game by putting the defense on the field first, but that could be dangerous this week. What do you think?

Great win! A win is a win though a few big plays, in my opinion, were the difference in the game. I’d say we caught some breaks but you know what??….WE WERE DUE! So I’ll take it. Nobody in the SEC has had the injuries we’ve had.
Perhaps the less physical practice leading up to last game carried over to the game as I haven’t seen such poor tackling in a long time from the Dawgs.
I hope we never see Charles Scott again!! I love Knowshon but have always been a fan of a huge RB that has speed to match. The guy was just a bowling ball and had great speed for a big fellow in a fullbacks body.
But we won so I’m happy.

Chip, Rennie Currin mentioned during postgame interviews that he didn’t know of anything special CMR was going to do the Gators but that “the seniors might have something up there selves”. Any clue what he was talking about?
If its humid down in J’ville I don’t see CMR allowing them to do a blackout so that leads one to wonder if there is any substance to that comment what it could mean. There’s been speculation about the DAWGS wearing Herschel Walker era red pants on the road but for this game that would mean all red aka a redout I DO NOT want to see that however Dooley era white pants (with stripes) I could deal with. The only other possibility would be black pants & possibly a total black uniform but once again highly unlikely dude to the humidity. The last time we wore red jerseys & black pants it didn’t look right & the results weren’t good. CMR has said UGA is silver britches so I doubt we’ll see any thing but them.

lynninsavannah: It IS possible to play Ellerbe, Gamble and Curran at once and I’m sure they will. The problem is Georgia more commonly lines up with only two linebackers most of the time when it goes against a spread like Florida’s so it can put five defensive backs on the field. But when they do go with three linebackers I’m sure they like the look of Ellerbe and Curran on the inside and Gamble on the outside. Either way, since Ellerbe is coming off injury I’d think Gamble will get the majority of reps at middle linebacker.

What a game this is going to be! Don’t think there will be much smack talking on either side this week. Need to focus on the task at hand. Stafford should have enough time on Saturday to find the open receiver. Very worried about Florida’s speed and kick returns. We need to find somebody who can put it in the endzone!! James could very easily break one on us right on the bat. Screens should be a big part of Florida’s offense especially now that LSU had success on us. Also scared of the jump pass and the little receivers in the open field. GO DAWGS!! LES MILES IS MY HERAUX!

Chip, could you ask CMR how he thinks the players will handle the game’s emotions? For instance, in the Alabama game, Bama just came out cool and level, marched down the field and scored. I think that’s wht we need to do, because Florida will be hyped up to avenge last year’s loss. We should just remember that we’re a good team and can definitely beat them if we take care of business. I’m just hoping that the Alabama fiasco doesn’t occur again.

UGA’s defense is built to play spread teams. D linemen and LBs on the light side, but fast! I was impressed by the way they handled LSU’s monster O and D lines. These guys have learned a lot since the Bama game. The dawgs can win a foot race with almost anybody but when 360 lb linemen are coming right at them it’s a different story. LSU’s QBs are young, but it was the seventh game and they have been with the program long enough to know what to do. The O line kept that LSU D line off Stafford and opened some holes for Moreno. The D played pretty well except when that big ol’ RB got behind that O line and ran the ball right at them. Thank goodness the O scored enough to take away LSU’s running game in the fourth quarter. UF will be different. UGA has to get some pressure on Tebow, like last year. We need to blitz Curran and Jones from time to time, sitting back in a cover 2 is playing into Tebow’s hands.

But I would like to know about any key injuries. I fully expected a couple more injuries before leaving BR but i haven’t heard of anything significant. I hope we don’t ever have another blackout, it is pure stupidity to announce ahead of time what color uniforms we will be wearing, like its some carnival or something. If the team wants to wear black jerseys or red pants, just come out in them on game day, but don’t announce it a week ahead of time to give the opponent bulletin board material. It’s not worth giving the opposition extra motivation just so everyone in the stadium has the same color clothes on.

Chip: (1) Please ask Richt if the coaching staff has learned from other staffs’ errors regarding the folly of kicking any ball anywhere near Brandon James. (2) In the spirit of good will, any chance that the Georgia sideline, after a presumable first score by the Gators, will line up and do a collective, nice, polite “golf clap” for the Gators, to soothe any hurt feelings from last year? :)

Well here we are :THE big game.I have posted several times that who we are..meaning who we recruit, how we scheme etc is built around beating Florida….I still think that the two offenses are a push it’s the defense that will decide who wins sat.We are weak against a power rushing attack and Fla is weak against a good passing attack.Difference being Fla runs a speed spread offense not a power rushing attack.WM’s job is to limit that spread go back to the last 5 games and you will see that we have played that scheme better than anybody. It should be a hard hitting man-up! type of game.Don’t be suprised with a 17-14 type of score than the 45-38 most people expect DAWGS win either way.I tip my cap to CMR for yet another big road win.Mark my words this man will crush every record Vince Dooley amassed at GA…I agree with the kids “coach is a serious dude”.

My favorite moment of Florida’s demolition of Kentucky was the way in which Tim Tebow was pumping his fist and celebrating like an absolute fool after he handed the ball off on a goal-line plunge that made the score 56-3.
Tim Tebow claims to be a classy guy. Classy guys don’t do that. That’s the sort of garbage that teams around the SEC notice. Even if I didn’t happen to be a UGA fan, I’d hate that guy.
Beat that punk into the ground. Go Dawgs.

This game is going to come down to Defense and Special Teams. I think we have the advantage in both.
I’m looking forward to a big Gator win so you guys can go back to Jorts jokes and “we own the all time series” retorts.

*Hairy Dawg * He was excited that Kestahn Moore (a Sr. that does not get a lot of PT) got a TD. He was also very excited that John Brantley (back up QB) was able to get his first TD pass of his career late in the game. So two guys who have been busting their rear ends all year finally get some glory and he is excited for them. That makes him classless? Sorry, your black and red glasses are clouding your judgment.

Pretty simple game plan really, eat up the clock with a good mixture of run and play action, but score when we have the ball, control time of possession, and then stop the big plays of FLA. Make them work hard for every yard they get. Can’t let Tebow sit comfortably in the pocket. Can’t play scared, be aggressive and let the chips fall were they may. Believe that you are the better team. Refuse to lose!

I wish someone would tell Knowshon Moreno how absolutely stupid he looks jumping up after every tackle as if he is ready to fight someone.
I hope one of the Gators knocks him on his cocky backside the first time he does that Saturday.

It might be a good idea for the paper Gators to knock him on his backside BEFORE he jumps up after the tackle. That way he won’t embarass you for 188 yards and 3 TDs. Just some friendly advice.
I would hate Moreno too if I were a jort wearer.

reality check then lets talk some football. For starters while my friend on Florida’s staff assured me before the season started that his defense would be much improved, he has admitted to me they are not on par with Alabama’s or Georgia’s. A lot of their success can be attributed to their success on offense in controlling the clock against other teams. Also their schedule has not been as demanding as Alabama’s or ours. Also, they have struggled at times against other teams i.e. Ole Miss and I look for this Saturdays Cocktail party to be a knock down, drag out, take no prisoners game. We will see who the better team is this year and hopefully he will owe me another bottle of Crown Royal otherwise I will have to buy him Blue Label Johnny Walker.

This game is about execution under tremendous pressure… not about dancing. The emotions will be sky high… but who will perform in that environment remains a question. Georgia needs to avoid stupid penalties and Florida needs to focus on their game plan rather than a silly stunt from a year ago. Georgia won last year because the relaxed and played their game. Whoever does that again will win it this year. My money is on the Dawgs… but I am the world’s most shameless homer! It is going to be a long week.

Chip, CWM said he was very pleased with his defense. Overall they did a great job. However there were many instances of poor tackling and poor concentration. First, does CWM see this, second, what is he gonna do to correct this? It would be nice not to have get into scoring race with them. Let Florida be all fired up over a play a year ago and distracted by it. Lets just go take care of business.

Georgia loses by 14 points or more
The “Dancing Dawgs” is simply another fine example of Trailer Trash from Athens.
The majority of their fans NEVER attended college of any kind. Some never finished high school.
Richt is a cheap car salesman who has underachieved as a coach. Wasted talent, and will NEVER win a NC. Urban already has one !!

You dooshes can’t talk out of both sides of your mouths. You can’t praise Gamble for his two INT game and then bash WM for his gamecalling. Who do you think put Gamble in the position to make those 2 INT’s?? It was Willie’s “soft zone,” morons! Even the CBS announcer talked about it. The “Tampa 2,” the 2 safeties splitting the field and the MLB dropping straight back, reading the QB’s eyes, and bam! Making the 2 defensive plays of the year.
I look for more of that against FU, as their speed will kill us if we play them straight up. As always, if we don’t get any pressure on Timmy Teabags, they’ll pick us apart and we’ll have ourselves a 45-40 UGA win. If the D comes through, I see it as 45-28.

T, are you seriously thinking that the majority of UF fans DID attend college there? Doesn’t matter to me, I’ve never thought that was a requirement, just wondering why you thought that was going to insult somebody. UGA has about 250,000 living alum, and there are many times that amount of fans, so yes, I’d bet that al least 51% of Georgia fans did not attend UGA. That would be true for all of the larger state universities, including yours. (if you really have one)
Heck, not sure why you need to finish High School to be a college football fans, although it does helps to be able to make sound comments, unlike yourself.

Gator Guy,
Well, the Dawgs ran out to the end zone to celebrate last year because they were so happy to have a lead on Florida. They were just rewarding themselves for their hard work.
Seriously though, you don’t seem to understand how the opposition might view such emotion. I don’t care what Tebow was celebrating. It made him look like he was celebrating a meaningless score when the game had long been in hand.
Take off the blue and orange-colored glasses for a moment.

Jort-out was mighty funny. I almost busted a gut reading that one.
My thoughts on the LSU game, we’ve still got work to do but I finally seen both the offense and defense that got the job done. It wasn’t all very pretty but the Dawgs never let up. I was extremely proud of that OL. Stafford or Moreno didn’t need much time but they got what they needed against one of the best DL lines in the country. Great game Dawgs!
I am not drunk on the LSU win when I state that Georgia will beat Florida this week in J’ville. While both defenses remain a little suspect the difference is our playmakers. Florida has good ones too but the Ga defense will give them a multitude problems. A balanced attack and Stafford will pick them apart while Moreno goes for a 200 yard game.

T, I will take our underachievieng coach with his .796 average. Heck if nobody else will take such mediocrity. I guess the Dawg Nation is stuck with him. You are also right about the majority of fans never attended the University. In my house, my 12 year old, my 19 year old and my brother never attended UGA. I did, so that only gives 25% in my house.
T, get a life or borrow someone else’s. Somewhere, a village is missing their idiot. Go home son, they miss your pathetic attempts at dialog.
And I may be trash, according to your assertion, but there are many modular homes that have much more amenities than my humble abode. But my location 150 yards from the Augusta National makes it somewhat livable.
T, you have just joined the long list of the intellectually challenged who try to come on here and blog with the big boys. Go to the back of the bus before we give you a wedgie.
Alt, as always, you wield a wicked sword that skewers the poor, hapless, wretched idiots. Nice riposte. Keep the coast clear, I got the middle Savannah.

Note to T: My wife and I are Georgia State grads and have had season tickets since 1972. I have a MBA in Tailgating and a PhD in Gatorhating. So go put on your best jorts and I’ll see you at the WLOCP!!!
Gators don’t care that Dooley was 17-7-1 and I don’t care that Spurrier was 11-1.
The only history that is relevant to the game is what the players have experienced. For all the 5th year seniors on both teams, the games are tied at 2-2. This should be a great game. Go Dawgs!!!

Can’t the Gators even realize the celebration dance was done @ Jacksonville Stadium, NOT the Swamp and that is suppose to be neutral territory? So get over it UF !!!! Even other Coaches have said that would jinx a team and cited games in the past where it has happened but it was on opponents home ground. As I said before it was in Jacksonville not Gainesville at the Swamp…GO DAWGS!!!!!
