UGA blog finds new home

Morning all. As I’ve said a couple of times this week, we’re converting this blog over to a WordPress platform and it will be a permanent move the first of next week.

Those of you who are regulars probably know that I’m not what you’d call techno-wizard when it comes to these things. But from what I understand the technology offered in this new format should make the blogging and commenting experience better for all. Of course, I’ll be learning as we go along, too. But I’m hoping to provide more pictures and video and things like that which should bring the blog more to life.

Of course, this blog is nothing without all you guys so I want to heartily invite (read: beg) you to come over to the new site by CLICKING HERE ON THE NEW ADDRESS and save it in your browsers. As of Monday, Feb. 23rd, this will be the permanent home of the UGA blog you so love or, in the case of some of you, love to loathe. If you’d prefer to copy and paste or just memorize, the new address is: http://blogs.ajc.com/uga-sports-blog/.

See at the new place!

What’s key to handling Tennessee?

Good morning Bulldog Nation. Long time no see. I’m glad to be back at it after taking off the last few days of this past week. Georgia’s bye week was good for the football team and it was certainly was good for at least one beat writer, too.

Probably the chief benefit of a weekend off was having the opportunity to kick back and watch some college football games on TV Saturday. Of course, I watch Georgia football games every Saturday they play and keep up with all the other scores and highlights of other games each week. But it’s very rare that I ever get to sit back and watch another team play a whole game or most of one.

The one I watched the most was Auburn at Vanderbilt. I had a feeling the Tigers might be in some trouble heading up to Nashville and, sure enough, the Commodores pulled off “the upset.” But now ranked No. 13, they won’t be upsetting teams much more. They’re at Mississippi State on Saturday so — barring an upset — they’ll be 6-0 and in control of the East when they come to Athens on Oct. 18. How many folks saw that coming?

Meanwhile, the Bulldogs seem to have gotten what they needed most during the off week, and that’s rest. Georgia practiced only twice last week and ran and lifted weights the other three days. The players got the whole weekend off and I suspect they watched a lot of football on TV as well. Wonder what they thought of Alabama having to fight like mad against Kentucky en route to a 17-14 win?

Now the Dogs turn their sights to Tennessee. The Vols (2-3) are struggling like crazy this season, especially on the offensive side of the ball. They started a new quarterback, Nick Stephens, against Northern Illinois this past weekend but still struggled to put points on the board in the 13-9 win. Coach Phillip Fulmer said Stephens will start against the Bulldogs. Considering the last two seasons, Georgia has to feel good that it won’t be Erik Ainge.

So what do you think is the most important thing the Bulldogs need to address between now and Saturday? Getting injured linebacker Dannell Ellerbe back on the field? Incorporating fullback Brannan Southerland back into the offense? Continued improvement of the offensive line? Shoring up the defense?

That in itself says a lot about Georgia. Heading to the midpoint of the season, it still has a lot of issues to resolve.

Here’s a couple of links to get you in an SEC frame of mind:

Not surprisingly, folks in Big Orange Country are calling Tennessee’s game at Georgia on Saturday a must-win for the Vols… .

Tennessee’s Arian Foster seems plenty tailback enough but apparently there’s some competition brewing behind him, according to the Knoxville News-Sentinel… .

Speaking of changes on offense, Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville says he stands behind new offensive coordinator Tony Franklin. But there are hints the Tigers may be reverting back to their tailback-oriented philosophy… .

The Macon Telegraph’s David Hale provides an extensive update on former Georgia defensive end Michael Lemon from Georgia Military College. Find a comfortable chair because it’s long.

PRACTICE UPDATE COMING THIS AFTERNOON BELOW IN COMMENTS.

Stopping UT on offense - no matter who their QB is - we still have not stooped them in the past two years, ar home or away - so until we do I am worried as heck about this game. AND, the teams we have beaten are all terrible, so what have we really done other than lose to AL?

Eric Ainge and Coach Cutcliff just had the Bulldogs number for some reason. But it is still Tennessee and they are still a dangerous SEC football team. I just hope the DAWGS have payback on there minds and redemption too. Go out and hit them in the mouth first shot and keep doing it just like Bama did to them.

Let’s not forget that the punter will return for this game. Field position can and will become key. We should in no way be overlooking this team, and should be in a revenge-seeking frame of mind.

I’m going to post while things are still sensible in here.

Welcome back Chip. The key to this week is for UGA to be the team we all know they are. CMR should have the guys ready and we all know aware that our goals in order are 1. win east. 2. win SEC, let any other chances happen.

Martinez should make the adjustments and take the defense after a new quarterback making his 2ND start ever, and 1st EVER on the road.

CROWD do what they did against BAMA , get there EARLY!!! EVERYONE WEAR RED, and MAKE life MISERABLE for the vols on offense by not letting them hear themselves think.

GO dawgs.

Georgia better come prepared because good ol rockyflop is desperate and will be playing to win. If I were georgia i’d be saying to heck with everyone were playing for a blowout. O-line scares me, what happened there? Sturdivant is a great player but do we not have enough talent there? And why do we keep running up the middle? Run that freak of a running back on sweeps and screens and give him some space. Make Eric Berry have to cover AJ all night and hit momass often. Have Southerland get his feet wet again by giving him a little touch and let’s take it to ol fat phil on his last trip to Athen’s!!!! GO DAWGS!!!!!!!!!

Should be a heck of a game between two angry teams. UT has yet to get into any kind of rhythm in our first 5 games. Still trying to figure out how Bama jumped on the Dawgs so quickly especially after seeing thier performance against Kentucky this weekend. UGA was reading too many newspapers coming into that game and got caught on their heels in the first half. One or two more plays and UGA gets back in that game even after being down 31. Past successes against UGA don’t carry much weight this week however I still think we could sneak one out if we put together any semblance of an offense and limit UGA’s big plays. Our defense can play but we have to keep Stafford and Knowshon off the field to have any real chance. Our RB’s have to dominate this game for the Big Orange to have a shot at the upset.

Vols seem to match up well against Georgia with having an experienced OL along with two quality tailbacks (No. 27 and No. 2). If the UGA D gives up that little 7 yard out pass all day like they did against Alabama, those are passes a little league QB can complete, and when you combine that with a good running game, UT will keep the ball 35 minutes of the game.

Hopefully UGA will take away the run and the easy passes and force the Vol QB to have to throw the ball downfield. On the other side of the ball, Georgia has to get better on the OL allowing the team to control time of possession.

Ga has been playing a lot of “statement games” lately. All these teams, Bosie St, ARZ st, Ok ST etc, all called GA a big “Statement Game.” I think the TN game is a big “Statement Game” for GA and the whole GA program. Two years in a row this team has not just beaten GA, they have humiliated GA. We have to show that we can compete with TN if we want to compete for the SEC. First things first. They are going to be desperate again. They need a win in the worst sort of way. But we have a much better team and if the coaches will make the players understand what they have done to us in the last 2 years, we should want it as much as they do.

ok, doggie fans….like the guy said, everyone get there early and WEAR RED! OMG, the doggies are going to have a RED-OUT! I’ll bet when TN takes the field and sees that all the drunk doggie fans came early, and are all wearing red, they will just roll over in fear before the mighty doggies. What a joke! Doggie fans are the funniest in the U.S.. Doggies lose to Vols, but will still be ranked No. 11, because they lost to a mighty SEC team..hahaha..Dogs and SEC…OVERRATED

Faced with 3rd and 1, I haven’t seen the Dawgs hand it to the fullback this year. With Sutherland back, I hope that play will once again become a guaranteed first down.

TN seems to start slow and come together just in time for the UGA game. The last several years it has been by far their most well played game to date each season.

UGA just needs to play with intensity and after a tough loss and an off week… that shouldn’t be a problem.

I’d like to see us play some tight man coverage early and then mix up the coverage and begin blitzing from different areas and then putting 7 back in coverage every now and then to keep this inexperienced QB off balance.

On offense, continue to mix in the run and the pass and take some shots down field… but not when it is 3rd and 3 to 3rd and 8. Especially early or if it is a close game, run a pass play designed to pick up the first down that is a high percentage play.

Of course, get AJ Green and Knowshon involved early and often.

This is an extremely dangerous game for the Dawgs and if they just look at UT’s record and not at the substance of the team, we will lose this game. And a loss at home to an unranked and last place Tennessee will, and rightfully should, end any talk or hopes of UGA winning the SEC, much less a national title this year. This is a game that UGA must win.

Just like Alabama, the UT lines are superior to ours on both sides of the ball. Yes, they’re starting a rookie QB and their offense has been stagnant. But they have two great RB’s (Hardesty and Foster) who will try to run down our throats. If our defense plays like it did against the Alabama run game last week, there will be a similar result.

Special teams will be key. Mimbs is a good punter - a much better punter than he showed against Bama. But if he plays like that again, UGA will be in trouble. Giving UT a short field to run down will result in a loss. UT returns their punter, who is one of the best in CFB. The Dawgs must put pressure on this guy and get some good punt returns.

Hopefully the Dawgs don’t need any motivation for this game. Just look at the last two years vs. Tennessee. They have destroyed and embarrassed us, folks. Remember the 51 points they hung on us last time they were in Athens? Not to mention last year in Knoxville where they completely dominated.

The rest of the schedule doesn’t get any easier. Not a single team we play after Tennessee will be of lesser quality. Vandy is for real. LSU may be the best in the West. Florida is always a battle. @ Kentucky is no pushover - just ask the Tide. And if you think Auburn is going to roll over, you’re kidding yourself. Tech may be the best team in the ACC. In other words, if we can’t beat this Tennessee team, we’re in serious trouble the rest of the way.

I believe strongly in this team. We have all the offensive weapons any team needs to win - a great QB, great RB, depth and talent at WR. The questions are - will our lines and defensive backs respond? Can our OL and DL step up to the plate? Can the DL get enough pressure on the QB to give our undersized DB a chance out there?

Chipper, good to have you back!

You’re right, those are a LOT of questions that need to be answered. Granted, we are not quite 1/2 way through the season…but we better get it together because our next 7 games are very tough.

If we win against UT, I like our chances at beating Vandy. For two reasons. First, assuming we win this week, we’ll have some momentum heading into Vandy. Secondly, there’s no doubt in my mind that we are more physical than Vandy, which should provide an edge to a very hot Vandy team.

Onto this week, I’d like to see us line up in the old fashion Dawg offense and pound the run 3 out of 4 plays and use the subsequent man-coverage on AJG and MoMass to keep them honest, score points. Especially with Southerland and K Tripp helping the run game.

Can you give us any indication if K Tripp has hands at all??? Can he catch?? Assuming that opposing defenses will assume he cannot catch well, do you foresee us using him to catch some folks off guard?

Thanks Chip!

Now, more than ever, Dawgs need to Prove It

I hope coach Bobo checked out the Missouri game……Now that is an offense. I wish we would spread it out more and get out playmakers the ball in space. I thought we were going to use C. King like a Reggie Bush type? Wake up Coach Bobo, we don’t have the studs on the O-line this year. Were not going to pound it down someone’s throat. Tell Stafford to stop being so tentative and make a correct read every once in awhile.

gotta stop the run and make stephens beat you. the uga offense has to move the ball consistently and get one or two big plays from the kicking game/return teams. UT may be down, but they always play their best game of the year against us.

Intensity should not be a problem from the opening bell in this one because we’ve been embarrassed by them the last two years.

UGA needs to score early and often and put UT back on its heels. If we’re up at least 2 TDs in the middle of the third quarter, they’ll fold.

I am at my wits end with Martinez. If he does not try and confuse a young QB with at least SOME blitzes, I will puke. I am tired of watching a 3 man rush that does nothing but keep our DEF on the field too ong.

By keep it simple

most of this is irrelevant.. If Georgia had just caught the ball and not commited huge game changing penalties..the bama game would have been different.. UGA is much better than Tenn..as long as the penalties are at a minimum and the receivers just catch the passes..UGA wins by 20..If anyone really thinks this quarterback with zero experience is going to come to Athens and beat a well rested solid defense who is p** off then you are absolutely out of your mind.

Chip,

Glad you got some rest because the next 6 weeks are going to be UNREAL! The UT game is big because they have put 86 points on us the last two games. What is CMRs record after an open week?

Every week is going to be a war, but I like our chances. This is still the team that has won 11 out of the last 12, 15 out of 18. At this point in the season last year we were ranked 24 with a 4-2 record. This team has good focus and leadership. I don’t know if we can run the table, but I’m sure we will play great for the rest of the season.

Go Dawgs and take care of business!!

Hello Chip welcome back and thanks for the link to the article on Michael Lemon. I wish this young man good fortune and truly hope he has straightened himself out.

As for the Dawgs, I would ask you when speaking to Coach Richt did he have these guys running steps and/or what we used to call blood and guts as punishment for their sloppy and undisciplined play so far?

Now as for Tennessee, they got a spark last week and built up a little confidence and the Dawgs need to jump on them early and often. Coach Martinez had better come prepared and be ready for them as I believe they will be crossing things up, it wouldn’t surprise me to see them just line up and run it down our throats. Their OL is a little nicked up according to my friend on their staff plus with the inconsistent play at QB has and turnovers has been their main issues. Hopefully this 2 weeks off will allow us get our problems with untimely penalties, poor play calling, and lack of in game adjustments straightened out and we will get a little revenge for the last 2 years.

Go Dawgs

I’ll be happy if we win by just a point. We don’t have the men in the trenches to blow anybody out.

If yet another opponent’s OL and DL is better than ours(which it is), how can any Dawg fan be confident about this game? I’d say the only thing we have going for us at the moment is no Cutcliffe in the press box and no Ainge under center. Those guys were “Bulldog killers” in every sense of the phrase.

And forget any conventional logic that Georgia will have pay back on their mind. We thought they had pay back on their mind with SC in Columbia. But all I saw was a bunch of flat puppies going through the motions.

Hell, I’ll be happy if we get nothing but O-lineman and D-lineman this year in recruiting. Georgia recruiters…are you listening? don’t we seem to be chirping about this EVERY SINGLE YEAR!!!!!

Message to Tennessee:

O.K., I’m a Dawgs fan, UGA alumni and 25-year season ticket holder, but I have some family ties to UT, so I’m not a basher.

I think the problem with Coach Fulmer is that he missed out on some recruiting a couple years ago that has left UT a little short-handed. Unfortunately, Coach Richt did the same thing which has caused our offensive line issues that Alabama exposed last week. But now is not the time to bash the coach. Fulmer won a national championship for goodness sakes, so the man is not an idiot. UT needs to rally behind the coach and his team this week. UT has owned Georgia the past two years and I can guarantee that UGA is not looking ahead of this game, especially after having our butts handed to us last week.

Internal dissension is the quickest way to collapse. UT has a long history of excellence in athletics and this brief hic-cop will be behind you soon - but only if you rally around the program now.

How badly would UGA have lost last week if the fans had not rallied in support the second half.? Even down 31-0, the Dawgs went back on the field in the third quarter to a standing ovation and the fans were louder than ever. Georgia came back and made a game of it.

Man-up, UT and stop whining. There’s football to play.

Go Dawgs!

Chip

I think there is sufficient analysis of the UGA-UT matchup so I want to direct my comment to the other Tennessee team, re: your Vanderbilt question.

I think Bobby Johnson has done an outstanding job with this program. I also have heard (from a reliable source close to the Clemson program) that it will be difficult for Bowden to survive this season (I know they say it every year but it is starting to impact fundraising/giving to the University).

Word on the street is that Bobby Johnson, a Clemson alumnus, would be on the short list for that job. What are your thoughts? Given that UGA is scheduled to play Clemson in a few years, I think this is a relevant question.

On another note, I think the Bama game showed that Kentucky has a serious defensive line. Hopefully Georgia has taken notice.

No brainer…we must stop the run and our OL must at least hold their own. If UGA is a top team they will handle UT by 14 or more. If not it will be because both lines are not good enough to allow our skill positions edge to take over. The bottom line is if our lines improve and play respectable they can run the table if not we will lose at least two more games. Last year at this time UT gave us a wake up call and we found some D ends and the offense line played well…the same must happen now if we are going to make it to the SEC title game!

Living in K-Town and being a UGA fan makes this a very big game for me. The answers I am looking for are: 1) have we corrected the penalties 2) will we play zone defense like we did in the first half against Bama or man up like we did in the second and finally shut them down somewhat 3) will out O line finally play like I think they are capable of playing 4) will we put pressure on their QB.

If we do the above we will be ok this game and the rest of them. If we don’t play sound fundamental football we can be beat and beat often. Glad they got some rest, glad the coaches had more time to work on gameplans. Coach Bobo needs to put the ball in Moreno, Green and Mo Mass hands as often as possible. Quick short passes to Green and Mo Mass. Ocassional deep balls to Green are a must. Get C King the ball on screens.

Martinez must play man defense, not zone. Make their QB beat you by stopping the run. Don’t give them anything. Their offense has struggled this year so you must ATTACK them. Don’t let them get in a rythym. This game, to me, will show us if we need a new defensive co-ordinator. He shows flashes of brillance and then lays eggs other times. Time to be brillant for the rest of the season if you want a chance to play in the SECCG!!!

The key for the game is smack mouth football. Georgia should crush Tennessee to fine powder. enough with the B******. Georgia should also be aware of trick plays that tennessee is saving to use against us, like tailback throwing for a TD, fake Punt/ fake kick. Tennessee has good OL, so they will heavily depend on running the football, we have to stop the run and let that kid beat us. to be fair Georgia was exceptionally good in stopping the run and I predict they will be able to do so. and by the way Chip” it seems Georgia’s defense is build to stop the run so it will match very well with Florida and it does. Did Gator Chump just say “Gators or Die”.

I was wrong. I think he’s a 9 year old with a skate board.

This 9 year old did not watch the Georgia Florida game last year. His mother took his TV away as he was grounded. He was also upset he could not go trick or treating.

Gator Chomp, as long as you keep posting, people will continue to make fun of you. If you go to some Gator website and blog, you’ll probably make more friends and get new ideas on some cool skate board tricks.

FLA DAWG: No coaches have put a percentage on how far along Southerland is in his recovery. Richt said only “not 100 percent.” But I think his mere presence in the backfield will provide a boost. I haven’t seen him in action yet myself so I’m waiting until I see him on a lead block in live action to make any pronouncements. Those of you who visit here regularly know I feel, when healthy, he’s the best fullback in all of college football… .

jfergNCdawg: The whole Kiante Tripp-to-TE thing still has me a bit perplexed but, to answer your question, he supposed has some very good hands. Remember, Tripp was a very good basketball player in high school and pretty darn good in UGA intramural play, as I hear. That said, it’s a whole different animal running routes against SEC defenses. Tripp told me last week the toughest things is mastering the routes. Also, CMR said it was doubtful they’d be tossing many balls Tripp’s way any time soon. So, yeah, they’d catch some folks off guard if they threw him a pass… .

DawgFud: If there is an opening at Clemson after this season, it would be crazy not to identify Bobby Johnson as a top candidate.

Even down 31-0, the Dawgs went back on the field in the third quarter to a standing ovation and the fans were louder than ever. Georgia came back and made a game of it.” ….Mike…… Are you kidding? Yes the Fans are loyal as ever but I’m afraid UGa didn’t make a game out of it. You seem to forget that late in the game it was 41 - 17 and Bama was in cruise control mode. Bama scored the 10 points with ease in the second half. Our Dawgs got whipped and Bama exposed the dawgs weaknesses end of story. I’m also surprised Coach Richt gave the dawgsso much time off. Three days would have been enough. You dont see the Sabans, Bobby Johnsons and the Urban Myers of the coaching world giving their teams that much time off ! Looks like Richt is coddling his players and feeling sorry for them. You can bet Fulmer will have Tennessee ready and I hope our Dawgs are ready to defend home turf come Saturday. Its been a long time since the dags have executed a trick play without it being a dud.Hopefuly Richts can use some to win this tough battle against the Vols this Saturday!

Georgia has to be able to get to the QB with the front 4 and Brannan needs to be ready to go to go up the gut on a few carries and block to give #7 that extra second back in the pocket…. if these two scenarios play out… Georgia will be fine.

Shannon Castleman, I couldn’t agree more. I am tired of the prevent defense every week. Time and time again we see that it does not work. I don’t understand Martinez’s thinking. We blitz time and time again against FL and Hawaii, and look at the score, not to mention the momentum. Yet, since then Martinez has decided not to use that anymore? Makes no sense to me at all.

Some of the fan attitudes on here really scare me and I can only hope that the players/coaches don’t share them.

“If Georgia had just caught the ball and not commited [sic] huge game changing penalties..the bama game would have been different.”

I see the apologists are alive and well even after the thumping we took against Bama. Please wake up. Yeah, the game would have been different - maybe we only give up 30 points and only lose by 10. Yes, we hurt ourselves against Bama, but they also dominated both lines of scrimmage for most of that game. You lose the battle on the lines, you lose the game. Period. Bama controlled the game from start to finish. It was 41-17 until Bama just decided to not risk any further injury to their starters. The extra 13 points we put on the board there at the end were meaningless except maybe to some of you people. You are the same people who were out there after the Carolina game giving us the ol’ “well, it was just another tough SEC game… all UGA/SC games are like that, nothing to worry about.” As you now see, when this team goes up against another team that has a decent OL or DL, we are in trouble. Tennessee has a very good DL and a decent OL.

If you think Tennessee is going to mail it in this week you are kidding yourself. We have saved Fulmer’s job two years in a row. I hope we don’t do it again. The lines must step up and Martinez has got to plan man defense. If we give up the 7 yard pass as easily as we did against Bama, we will have the same result. Hardesty and Foster are two very good backs. If we let UT have short 2nd and 3rd downs, it’s going to be a long day.

Two teams that are the #2 teams in their state are plying for what? To be the best of the worst? OK, I’ll bite, TENN beats UGA in a close one, 17-14, UGA has 10 penalties -95 yards, (and that’s this weeks lame excuse). KnoShow has 50 yards on 20 caries and continues to run around after each play like he belongs on the short bus.

In all fairness, our offense and special teams coordinators have had the definition of a meltdown against TN for 2 year also. But a great defensive effort would sure go a long way in calming everyone down to be sure.

On the must win angle. I’m not even really sure how this is a must win for TN. I dont think anyone is going to be shocked if TN cannot pull the upset. No question, its an excellent opportunity for them sooth the pain, but there is difference between want and need. Last year’s game was to stay in the conference race for them, this year it is not. Ok mathematically, maybe. Tn goal this year has to be win 7 and go to a bowl. I’d say thier last 2 games against Vandy and Ky would be more of the must win category.

31-0 at half???

Well uga fans - I am in a pickle.
Why am I in a pickle? …. because I know that the Vols are going to pull the upset on uga this saturday - and I can’t figure out how BOTH TEAMS CAN LOSE this one!!!! HA HA HA HA!!!!

Vols will win a down and dirty slugfest this weekend.

Why am I picking the Vols?
- Vols own UGA - last two games were blow outs. Have a mental edge and their back is against the wall.

  • Vols defense is better than Uga’s. Uga’s defense is just not that good. (Vols offense has been horrible - but will figure out how to score enough against uga as things will click this weekend.)

  • Uga is young in the wrong places!!! uga skill positions very good - but the game’s outcome is determined on the line - and that is where uga’s weakness is.

  • Coaching - as I hate to admit this - Fat Phil has been around for a long time for a reason - he and his staff can coach up the talent they have. Look how they won all those tight games last year to win the SEC East - good coaching. Shoot - they almost beat LSU and should have won - if Ainge did not go brain dead and threw that easy pick - TN wins SEC.

Uga - on the other hand - does not coach up it’s athletes - they depend on athletic ability to win. If Uga can not out “athlete” their opponent - they will lose. Scheme wise and coaching - Uga is not impressive.

Bottom Line - TN is not as bad as everyone thinks - defense is quite good - and offense will turn the corner this week.

Uga is a mid pack SEC team - which is not bad considering the SEC - but there are at least 4 teams better than Uga this year in the SEC alone.

BAMA, LSU, Florida are the top 3.

Mark my words - uga will lose to either Vols and Vandy - will lose to LSU and Florida - and will lose to either KY or Auburn if not both. AND MARK MY WORDS - GT will beat uga this year.

As I stated in earlier posts - uga coaching staff has now been exposed - good coaching staffs with talent have figure out uga.

The best thing uga has going for it right now is the fan base and the stadium.

I know Georgia gave up 31 points in the first half, but I was proud of the Dogs for coming out and scoring 30 points in the second half. It would have been 31 if they had kicked the PAT rather than unsuccessfully going for two.

The keys to beating Tennessee and every other team on the schedule are:

1 The Offensive Line needs to get set and take the lead in grinding out first downs.

2 The entire team needs to cut down on the penalties.

I.E. The Alabama game might have been a different game if Georgia’s fumble recovery on Alabama’s first drive had not been nulified by a roughing the passer penalty when our defensive end “touched” the Alabama QB’s facemask.

The good news is that we can still go 13-1 this year if we are focused.

I also don’t understand why the O-line is struggling. Didn’t we have a very young line last year that came together around mid-season? Youth isn’t necessarily a bad thing once they get some experience and you’d think that they would be even better this year. Sturdivant is but one man. Don’t tell me that the entire line was anchored on him alone. Depth wins championships. Period. Maybe the week off did them some good and we can get on a roll like this time last year. 4 quarters of football fellas! Especially your side of the ball CWM.

We have not been able to run against an SEC defenses yet. That hurts. Sure everybody else we have played made it seem easy. I am not a “stats” guy but against SEC defenses we have averaged 78ypg rushing. That is not going to cut it in the SEC. If we had the passing game of a Texas Tech if might, but we don’t.

Supprisingly, I agree with most of your points. However, I think the coaches in general do a pretty good job (you dont get Richts recored just by having good athletes). The lone exception is UGA’s receivers. They come in all world and slowly regress every year. I hope Green can break that.

Suprised to hear a Bammer be in a “pickle” over rooting in a game that involves tenn. You should want UGA to win, it adds to that SOS.

Instead, we should focus on bringing Tech up to your level with both ending up in the Top Ten at season’s end. I’m looking forward to a great game in Athens. BamaStan is an idiot. None of his post has an credence. Typical. He’s been hiding under a rock for the past 6 years!

Mark Richt KNOWS he cannot afford a loss to Tennessee. He will immediately be placed on the hot seat (yes) and will be eliminated from the SEC East. No team has even won the SEC East without defeating Tennessee since the beginning of the 1993 season. He was hired to beat UT and Florida at least half the time. 1-4 the last five and 0-3 in Athens the last three will get you in some deep _. I suspect the team will play lights out and end Tennessee’s hopes early. They better, otherwise Mark Richt will be forced to consider some major staff chances come January.

Bamastan: How are things in your country? Still having trouble with Islamic terrorists?

I suppose that Mark Richt has been using smoke, mirrors and sheer deception over the last few years to win ~80% of his games. If you could win by recruiting alone, Ron Zook and Ray Goff would have already won national titles.

A dose of reality for ya: Alabama is neither as good as they looked against Georgia last week nor is Georgia as bad as they looked against Alabama last week. A similar situation could be seen in 2004, when Georgia destroyed a Saban-coached LSU team 45-17 that was the defending national champion. As it turned out, Georgia was good, but not that good, and LSU was not that bad. Score differentials don’t mean squat. What matters is that the team improve weekly and the results at the end of the season. The Dawgs had eight preseason starters who missed most or all of the Alabama game, and the offensive line is admittedly still a work in progress after the injury to Trinton Sturdivant. However, Brannan Southerland (starting fullback) gets his first real game action of the season this week, and Coach Searels has set his starting OL for the year, which means that we will finally have one group getting reps together as starters for the rest of the season. The offensive line is not lacking in talent, just lacking in cohesion as a unit. And the defense had an off night against Bama just as LSU’s very good defense had off nights last year against Arkansas and Kentucky. The only guarantee in the SEC is that you’d better show up every week, or someone will beat you. Just ask the Gators.

So, Bamastan, I hope we keep winning. We’d love to see you guys in Atlanta. I suspect there will be a different Georgia ballclub taking the field by then. And I doubt you’d like the outcome if we gel like a typical Mark Richt team does.

Finally, Gator Chomp, your posts are so inarticulate and inane as to generally not even be worth dignifying with a response. However, I do not anticipate that Georgia will fail to show up against the Vols—not after last year. And if they do, it will be no contest; the Dawgs will win by 20+.

One last admonition: learn some modicum of grammar and/or spelling. Your poorly-composed verbiage makes your posts look even more stupid than they actually are.

And that’s pretty stupid.

The dawgs are now a mere 9 - 7 in SEC Games since his exit. So you can see that the dawgs are ONLY two games above 500 in SEC play since 2006. Thats a little too close for comfort as of late. I think most dawg fans would except a loss to Alabama but it was the way the dawgs lost is whats disturbing. Great Question Pago

The answer is the UGA is an average tean in a better than average conference. The SEC is better than some conferences but only as good as others and certainly not the best.

Alabama is one of the better teams in the SEC, they will end up with 2 maybe 3 loses, UGA will lose at least 2 more conference game and more likley 3. Alabama and LSU are the best teams in the SEC and they are neither a top 5 national team.

The top 5 teams Nationaly are OU, TEXAS, MIZZ, PENN STATE, and USC. At the end of the year it will boil down to OU and USC.

Over on our Tech list of bloggers, I’m amused at the insults Jackets and Dawgs are hurling at one another, two months before the Big Game, even! Here’s the truth, and I’ll say it to the Techsters, too: The Bulldogs will not only whip Tennessee this Saturday, but they continue to be a very good football team. So Tech has no brag - yet.

I haven’t been able to figure out what happened against Alabama. I chalked that loss up to dependence on reputation, which is often fatal on the football field. Prior to ‘Bama, it looked to me as if Mark Richt had brought the whole FSU system of Bobby Bowden’s glory days, lock, stock, and barrel, to UGA. There were the passes of Stafford, the runs of Moreno, and, on defense, the quick, swarming tacklers that seemed to close holes rapidly and often, versus Arizona State. It’s all still there.

By Paul the Vol

I am as big a UT fan as any Volunteer but let’s be realistic, Georgia is going to kick out butts this year. Even though Georgia doesn’t match up well with smash mouth teams we simply do not have the talent to keep up. We are slower on the D-line and at linebacker than last year. Our entire offense has taken a huge step backward and we are going to Athens with a QB making his second career start.

Losing Cutcliffe has had more impact than anyone would have imagined and this new offensive staff is simply in over their heads. The play calling is all over the place and the coaching is actually worse than when Randy Sanders was there.

Our defense is OK but can’t get off the field on 3rd down. Giving an offense like Georgia’s extra plays is just asking for it. This is one of the worst teams that I have seen since Bill Battle was coach. All-in-all, it will likely be a long afternoon.

BTW - none of this changes the fact that Alabama fans are still stuck-in-the-past inbred rednecks and no matter how bad my football team is I can still be thankful that I don’t live there.

Just back up in the Butts-Mehre Building from the practice fields and an absolutely gorgeous day outside. Dogs are going at it hard. They’re having their Tuesday practice today, which is to say they’ll get in the majority of their contact today and ease back the next few days.

Some observations:

Possible new injury: LB Marcus Dowtin is in green jersey and no pads and not participating. That’s particularly distressing considering LB Dannell Ellerbe was in the exact same situation. They say they’re holding out for Ellerbe to play but he sure didn’t look close to suiting up to me… .

Other players in green: CMR hinted that season-ending surgery could be in the cards for WR Tony Wilson. Apparently that came to be as Wilson was on crutches with his left ankle heavily wrapped… . In the what’s new department, in green Monday were OG Tanner Strickland, DT Brandon Wood and DE Rod Battle.

TV or not TV: Looks like the networks might opt to utilize the six-day option on what games to televise on Oct. 18. They’re mulling Vandy at Georgia, Ole Miss at Bama and LSU at S.C. They already postponed their decision at least until tomorrow but may wait to see the outcomes of this weekends games. They get a limited number times per year to enact the six-day option. CBS has first dibs this week so I’m guessing if LSU wins at Florida they’ll go with the Tigers if they get by the Gators… .

More later.

I agree with lynninsavannah.

That UGA-‘Bama game was a DISGRACE.

UGA didn’t even show up for that game until late in late in the 3rd quarter.

UGA was out-manned and out-coached. That game was an embarrassment. The DAWGS, with a chance to show everyone they were for rael, deposited a large pile of poop in front of a national audience.

The defense didn’t have a clue and the offense couldn’t figure out how to get Moreno into the scheme of things. And the stupid penalties. Good Lord.

Absolutely pi$$ poor preparation and execution.

I hope the Dawgs play better against UT and from here on out.

Gator Chomp, you are a moron. Nothing more to say about your posts.

To those who say Richt won’t be on the hot seat, you are wrong. 11-8 in the SEC, four losses to UT in five games and three straight in Athens. A season lost for the third straight year…all this will FORCE him to to make staff changes that would be SIGNIFICANT. You are crazy if you think everyone will be fine with this. He HAS to beat Tennessee. My fear is he is approaching this game as if we don’t have a problem beating them. We do. Hopefully he understands the repercussions of another loss after a two week break. One word sums it up…PRESSURE. Regardless of our late season play last year. Ask Donnan about not meeting expectations!

Hey, gator chomp wuss. Nice to see that you care about the UGA Bulldogs so much. Is it fear? Yes, I think so. You’re so afraid that the same thing will happen this year down in Jax. It likely will if the lizards bring the same game that they brought against Ole Miss. That was hilarious to watch Timmy Tebow shed so many tears, gator chump. UGA made him cry last year and he’ll probably be reaching for the old Kleenex box again this year. Did you see your QB cry on national TV? Did you cry, gator chump? Did you run to mommy’s arms only to get burned by her Marlboro in your sordid single-wide trailer? Did her live-in, drunk, tattooed boyfriend give you a swift backhand for being so wimpy? You will never, ever see a UGA BULLDAWG cry, boy. We made Timmy cry and so did Ole Miss. Hats off to Ole Miss for making Timmy cry croc tears. I laughed my butt off!!! Why does that Timmy boy have to cry? It’s pathetic - almost as pathetic as you!!!!

Run the wishbone. If the O-line can not protect Stafford put two fullbacks in the backfield to block. Run Moreno outside. Cut down on Staffords checks. If the three step drop is so hard to defend why aren’t we using it more. Come out throwing the ball in the first quarter to set up the run. Put Monero and King in the backfield together.

Look for UGA to have the breakout game of the season this week against UT. We laid a huge egg and got embarrassed and that is not going to be a good thing for the vols. The defense will start putting pressure on the qb and the o-line will look much better as well. Dogs win this one convincingly. As far as uf goes, they don’t seem at all scary this year. What’s up with that so-called bad a* rb they got to transfer from USC? Not quite working out is he? Should’ve stayed in the Pac-10 and looked like somebody. Tebow will be on his back A LOT in Jax this year (again). Don’t all you gaytor fans get too excited about beating Arkansas now. They are playing a ton of freshmen this year in a rebuilding phase so settle down and realize that you got beat at home by Ole Miss! Get ready for a beatdown courtesy of LSU this weekend and then start thinking about UGA. I just hope that Tebow doesn’t get himself hurt so you guys won’t use that same excuse again this year. QB’s are supposed to throw the ball, not lead the team in rushing. LOL! Urban Crier gets run out of town by the end of this season because of that BS system he runs. Maybe he can save his job if he can lure Zook to come back down South and recruit for him! LOL! Even with the mounting injuries on UGA’s roster, I don’t see ut,uf, or au giving us much of a problem this year. Hell, I’m more concerned with Vandy and Kentucky.

Why is there any debate on this?

UGA should beat this Tenn team by 21 at the least. This coming from a GT fan.

Hell, with the need to prove something, revenge from last year, just flat out superior talent and coaching, I don’t see any advntage not for UGA.

If they don’t, they could possibly be the most over rated team of the year. That is should they lose, or barely win mind you.

voice of reason, I hope that you’re correct in your views of the upcoming game against those UT Fallin’ Tears. The main thing I’d like to see is way, way fewer penalties for UGA. I sincerely believe that the entire NCAA referee staff took UGA’s little end zone rushing foul personally after the UF-UGA game last year. It’s sort of like they feel the need to flag UGA for anything and everything this season. Take a look at the UGA - ASU game for example; I have watched a metric ton of football but have never, EVER heard of a “leaping” call. I mean, c’mon, man….leaping???? I just hope that UGA comes out on top and that the yellow rags can stay in the refs’ belts for most of the game (for a change).

GwinnettDawg, you can’t help but wonder about some of these calls, but if UGA comes ready to play and play clean, whoopass football it won’t matter. We are guilty of some STUPID penalties this year that were clearly justified. All Georgia needs to do is come to the game ready to beat some major a* w/o committing personal fouls. They killed any shot we had at Alabama last week. I wouldn’t want to be in CPF’s shoes this week. UT’s going to get the smackdown in Athens! GO DAWGS!

Interesting that you would call me an “idiot.” I’m surprised that you can spell “idiot,” but perhaps the sign is still taped to your chest so that you just have to read it.

If you can read, that is.

On to more intelligent commentary:

I’m not wearing red-and-black-colored glasses. I agree that Georgia needs to put up or shut up, starting with this weekend. And, yes, Tennessee is indeed a “must-win” game. A preseason #1 should not lose to a stumbling 2-4 team at home, ESPECIALLY on the heels of last year’s debacle. So I don’t disagree with those who say that this team needs to prove something from here on out. It starts on Saturday.

POST-PRACTICE UPDATE

Sorry for the delay. Late evening at the practice complex. Here’s the raw notebook file I sent into the paper for your personal perusal. Apologies for typos or mistakes:

Athens — To peer out across Georgia’s expansive practice complex Monday was to sense trouble. There, concentrated in one area on Field One where the linebackers were working together, stood five players in green jerseys. This signifies players that are injured and out of action. Among them were starting middle linebacker Dannell Ellerbe, a preseason All-SEC selection, Marcus Dowtin, a freshman backup with promise, and Akeem Hebron, a former high school All-American. Middle linebackers Marcus Washington (shoulder) and Charles White (knee) have long since been sidelined with season-ending injuries. There are only nine linebackers total. But according to the players’ post-practice comments, the prospects aren’t nearly as dim as they appear. They all plan to be ready for Saturday’s game against Tennessee. “The trainers are going to want to do what’s best for me but at the end of the day it’s how I feel,” said Ellerbe, a senior who has started the last 16 games in the middle for the Dogs. “I’m going to have to do a test and if I pass the test and am able to play I’m gonna play.” Asked just what that test would entail, Ellerbe said, “just show them I can move. Basically just go through a practice and do some little drills they want me to do.” Ellerbe anticipates passing. He said he expects to give up his spots on the No. 1 punt and kickoff teams but to be available for defense. “Hopefully it will be more than 15 to 20 plays,” said Ellerbe, who has been rehabbing “three times a day since Sunday.” Meanwhile, Dowtin, a major special teams contributor, injured his lower back lifting weights at the end of this past week. “I’ll be ready to play,” he stated confidentally Monday. “Messed up my back a little bit but nothing too serious.” Sophomore Darryl Gamble, who’s second on the team in tackles, has stepped up to fill in for Ellerbe alongside Rennie Curran. As for the logjam of injuries at linebacker, Dowtin said: “We’re playing hard and there’s not that many of us so we’re getting a lot of reps. It’s a little wear-and-tear on us but we’re going to be all right. We’re getting healthier.”

PUNT RETURNS UP IN AIR With a 92-yard, one-touchdown-per-game average, one would think Prince Miller is a lock to return punts against Tennessee on Saturday. Not necessarily. “We’re basically doing the same thing we’ve been doing all season, just rotating and playing different guys back there so we’ll all be prepared to go in,” Miller said. “Everybody else is prepared to go at any moment, too.” Such is the Jon Fabris way. The Bulldogs’ fiery defensive ends coach also oversees punt returns and he’s had five different players handle it so far, including Knowshon Moreno, Asher Allen, Logan Gray and Reshad Jones. The by-committee approach has worked. The Bulldogs lead the SEC and are third nationally with a 21.7-yard average. Miller returned his only attempt 92 yards for a touchdown in the second half against Alabama. He’s not sure whether it was just his first of many returns or the last of his career. “Before the game [Fabris] watches and decides who he feels most comfortable with,” Miller said. “In his mind I think he has guys he wants in certain situations. I don’t know. I just want to help the team any way I can.”

SAMUEL LOOKS FOR MORE P.T. Freshman tailback Richard Samuel can easily recite every play he’s been in on the last two games. “Just special teams,” he reeled off quickly after Monday’s practice. “One kickoff return and two reps on punt return as a blocker.” And all three of those plays came against Alabama. He did not get in the Arizona State game. But Samuel is hopeful his lone kickoff return will earn him a more prominent role. Samuel rambled 41 yards and nearly broke his only attempt against Alabama. “I was real close,” he said. “Once I got past the kicker I saw open field in front of me. I guess I got tackled from behind.” Samuel said he has been getting work with the No. 1 kickoff return unit but he wasn’t sure if the coaches will stick with senior Remarcus Brown, who has averaged a solid 25.4 yards on 14 returns. “We’ll have to see how practice goes,” Samuel said. “Right now I just want to play. Whether it’s running back or kickoff returner doesn’t matter to me. I just want to play and have fun.”

INJURY REPORT Safety Quintin Banks said he did not play at all in the Alabama game but hopes to Saturday against Tennessee. The sophomore from Warner Robins missed the first five games with a sprained knee suffered in preseason camp. He was expected to get extgensive playing time in a three-man rotation with Jones and CJ Byrd… . Rod Battle, who started the last 15 games at defensive end before being sidelined the last three with a neck injury, worked extensively on the side with a trainer Monday but remained in a non-contact green jersey and did not practice with the defense. He has declined interview requests the last few weeks, Monday included… . Sophomore flanker Tony Wilson had his left ankle heavily wrapped and was on crutches Monday. Coach Mark Richt said last week Wilson was contemplating season-ending surgery to repair a chronic injury. Neither Richt nor Wilson were available for comment Monday.

ETC… . CBS has delayed at least until Tuesday and could decide to invoke its six-day option regarding the games of Oct. 18. The broadcast network is having to make a call between Vanderbilt at Georgia, LSU at South Carolina and Ole Miss at Alabama. CBS has first choice over ESPN and Raycom, which would broadcast the other two games.

We need to have a doughnut out for Fulmer. Maybe we can subpoena him for recruiting violations. Our schedule is so tuff with Tennessee and Auburn. I mean they do get beat by Vandy but look at them Vandy boys. SEC rulez because we beat each other up and only our conference wins as many games as it loses against each other. The sorry ACC wins more than it loses in conference. It’s so lame. It’s like the single wide behind my double wide.

The key to beating Tennesee is to be an sec team. No out of conference team can beat an sec team. Bring on a Pac-10 team or an Acc team. Can UCLA or GT beat an SEC team. I don’t think so. Could Wake win aagainst teams like UMiss. Heck no. I bet my trailer they can’t. Hahaha. The sec is a bunch of jokes that think they beat uo on each other. Aww Florida got beat up by an almight sec team ole miss. But when it happens in the ACC, it’s because the ACC is weak. Wierd that Wake beat Ole Miss who beat the dominant Florida.

With the Vols (and every team for that matter) gearing up to stop the run, I think this week would be the perfect time for Stafford to throw for his first career 300 yard day. With the linebackers so banged up, it becomes even more important for the defensive line to stop the run and force TN into passing situations. In a nutshell we lost to Bama last week because we couldn’t stop the run and make Wilson beat us with his arm. For our defense to be successful, they cannot allow that to happen again.

He won’t have much to say there Mike. He can’t say that tebow was hurt or that they celebrated their way into winning. He’s a typical, blue jean short wearing, florida excuse making f*. That’s why he keeps getting on UGA blogs and types his bs instead of speaking it. He probably wears a UGA hat to school every day so he doesn’t get his lunch money taken from him by the other kids.

For those downgrading the ACC, the following graphic and comments were noted on Raycom TV during the GT-Miss. State game:

“MORE PLAYERS WERE DRAFTED FROM THE ACC, 115, OVER THE PAST 3 YEARS THAN FROM ANY OTHER CONFERENCE! THIS INCLUDES THE #1,2, AND 3 PICKS: MATT RYAN, BC; CALVIN JOHNSON, GT; AND MARIO WILLIAMS, NC STATE!”

Hey techies, are they still not talking much about your trade school’s football team? Is that why you come to the UGA blogs? I don’t blame you because the blog you come to is a top 10 team’s blog. All you haters get ready to be silenced just like gamecock henry and roswell ed. The only bad thing is we have to wait til the end of the season to shut you geeks up. 8 in a row coming up.

Sad to think that Phat Phil has to win this game, Vandy and KY-jelly just to retain his job. I guess the ghost of Johnny Majors has finnaly got his revenge. Since he is the ghost of Phulmers past, I hope the ghost of Phulmers present is Mark Richt. Which would make the ghost of Phulmer’s future, Bobby Johnson. And poor Tiny Tim Tebow has a crutch in the corner. Of course truth is stranger than fiction, you have to make up fiction. Good night and God bless us each and everyone. This was unashamedly stolen from Charles Dickens. Unlike my name which was enthusiasticly stolen by the POSER.

Unlike Alabama, who saw that they could take away our position in the polls and give us their position in the polls, the vols simply are ranked so far behind UGA that a win by the vols and a loss by us to the vols, would not do the vols any damn good at all.

vols would still be ranked once again, as they have been 8 consecutive years now, worse than UGA.

vols’ wins this season include all-told UAB and Northern Illinois. Midway through the season, the vols have lost to everyone else they have played.

That includes some pretty lousy football teams, frankly.

vols’ fans are not saying that this is a must win for the vols; they are saying it is a must win for Phfat Fil.

Chip, what do you think is up with Richard Samuel. Why isn’t he getting more playing time. He seems to be a very talented runner. Has he fallen out of favor? If he has then what for? Can we look for him to get more touches this season? If they’re not going to use him more whay didn’t they red shirt him.

UGA better watch out for UT. This is a team that has been unsuccessful in the RED ZONE. Moving the ball between the 20’s hasn’t been a problem for them. I can remember 4 turnovers inside the 10 yd line that has cost this team points. Eventually, they will put it together. Hopefully this is delayed by them adding the new QB. Everyone is calling this a blowout because of their record, but this is not a team to be overlooked.

As for the Dawgs, I think that losing to Bama may have been the best thing for them. It showed them they weren’t invincible, and that all of the preseason hype was just that. You have to play ball boys!

GTFan/Midnight Rambler- you are right about the # of players drafted out of the ACC. As a matter of fact, there are 2 ACC teams that have the most players on NFL rosters. But if you aren’t a FSU or Miami fan, you don’t need to bring that up because you just embarassed yourself. In fact, name 5 players in the NFL that are from your beloved Jackets… Exactly. I challenge you to name one player from GT that is on a team that makes a difference. Don’t say Calvin Johnson because GT could beat the Lions.

P.S- I can say this now because none of your current D-line is in the NFL yet. Those guys are STUDS.

How many Vol fans are pulling for the DAWGS this weekend so Fulmer will be fired?

By ROCKY TOP

October 7, 2008 8:27 AM | Link to this

Gratfuldawghead, I for one, will never pull against the VOLS for any reason. Is there a problem on the Hill?-yes, will firing Fulmer change that?maybe. With a new OC, the offense is struggling to find its identity, but the defense has played well. Can the Dawgs bounce back from last week, or can the Vols have the breakout game that we’ve been looking for…we will see! Hope its a good(close) game either way. GO VOLS!

I love seeing all of the phat phil jokes , Fallin tears etc, Remember this. The last 2 times UT has faced ugaly, Uga was the favorite. Look at the results. Tennessee has Phat phil and has had no need to change coaches due to a Poor coach. This game will be close, if its not its because UT won Big …. Again!

Chip, Thanks for the TV updates! Yesterday I had checked on SEC.com to see if they’d announced the schedule for 10/17. Since it wasn’t there I looked at the schedule to try & figure out which games they were choosing from. Then I got on this blog to ask you about but didn’t have to because you had already updated it then added in your second set of practice notes as well. I know you take a beating on here sometimes but thanks for all you do to keep the Dawg Nation informed!

Not that it matters, but for me the key to this game against the Vols boils down to Willie Martinez. Has he learned from the soft coverage mistakes? Will he permit the short passes by playing 10 yards off the WR’s? If Martinez goes with that type of DB strategy it will be a long afternoon in Athens.

voice of reason….you are stupid and was the only one in Flordia with a mullet. Why do we come over here? It is not because of your myth ranking, it is to read your stupid comments. You cannot shut anybody up, you stupid mofo. The Vols kick thd dogs in the mouth again this weekend. I cannot wait until of the end of the season either. It will not be 8.

DJMontay, where is Flordia? Must be where the mullet sporting mofo’s live. I’m not trying to shut anybody up. I think it’s funny as hell how most of you take this so serious. Did you miss the short bus again? How can someone misspell “the”? And what’s up with “I cannot wait until of the end of the season”? That’s ok though. If it makes you feel better, just call me stupid.

Your are genius! I agree with you 100% but I think Martinez needs to be coaching high school/AAA foodtball teams. Marvin, with the Dawgs talent you could be 6/0. To add to your analysis, Bobo needs to learn every pass does not have to plus 20yrds. I am just a fan but I recognize an idiot when I see one and you have pointed Martinez out to everyone. I believe they know but are too polite to say.

You guys can’t judge CWM on just a few games though. Most of the time, the D looks great. It just seems like he gets shown up once a year. The SC loss last year certainly can’t be placed in CWM’s lap when we couldn’t find the endzone during the entire game. The UT game last year and the Alabama game last week are the only times he has looked anything but stellar the past couple of seasons. Being a lifelong Dawgs fan it is frustrating because we want perfection, but name one DC in all of football that you would rather have. You’ll have a hard time finding one that has a better track record. GO DAWGS!

DJMontay, I really hope you find the humor in all of this. Please don’t let it ruin your day. I take it you’re not a fan of UGA’s? That’s ok, maybe after the eighth straight win over tech you’ll convert to a winner. GO DAWGS!

Hey Reggie

Cut it with the “legally” CRAP! Your program has been under NCAA investigation more times than probably any football program in the country! Vince Dooley’s era was so corrupt it’s not even funny! SO KISS OUR ARSE! Your time is coming. We may not beat you gay boys this year, but the CLOCK IS TICKING!

Go Jackets and THWG!
