UGA blog finds new home
Morning all. As I’ve said a couple of times this week, we’re converting this blog over to a WordPress platform and it will be a permanent move the first of next week.
Those of you who are regulars probably know that I’m not what you’d call techno-wizard when it comes to these things. But from what I understand the technology offered in this new format should make the blogging and commenting experience better for all. Of course, I’ll be learning as we go along, too. But I’m hoping to provide more pictures and video and things like that which should bring the blog more to life.
Of course, this blog is nothing without all you guys so I want to heartily invite (read: beg) you to come over to the new site by CLICKING HERE ON THE NEW ADDRESS and save it in your browsers. As of Monday, Feb. 23rd, this will be the permanent home of the UGA blog you so love or, in the case of some of you, love to loathe. If you’d prefer to copy and paste or just memorize, the new address is: http://blogs.ajc.com/uga-sports-blog/.
See at the new place!

CWS, Open make for awesome TV
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Was it just me or was Saturday night a sports enthusiasts’ TV-watching dream?
I was absolutely wearing out the “last” button on my remote control as I jumped back and forth between the U.S. Open and Georgia’s College World Series Game against Miami. Talk about great television. You couldn’t ask for more drama from a Britney Spears weekend in Vegas.
The best thing is I didn’t miss a critical moment of either event. I was able to watch Tiger limp his way through the back nine and the Bulldogs’ incredible four-run ninth inning with two outs. You know when Lyle Allen and David Thoms are your offensive heroes, something is going right.
Of course, we’ll all get a chance for another double dose today, with the U.S. Open playoff between Woods and Rocco Mediate set for a noon telecast on ESPN and 2 p.m. on ESPN. And the Dogs get Stanford tonight at 7 p.m. on ESPN2. Once again, David Perno’s team draws the prime time marquee matchup. Today may be the least productive day in the modern history of work.
Anyway, a little housekeeping to get out of the way. As most of y’all know Carter Strickland has left the newspaper to pursue private business ventures. Despite some criticism in this forum, Carter is a fantastic writer, a workhorse of a beat man and a good guy overall. I’m going to miss him and I believe y’all will, too.
Meanwhile, I’m at the point in the summer where I’m having to squeeze in a lot of my training (our paper requires many hours per year) and vacation. I’m off to the Gulf Coast next week.
So the blog updating may be a little sporadic for a few weeks. But I will get in here and update as much as possible, maybe even once or twice when I’m otherwise off. It will be up to you guys to keep it vibrant and relevant. And let’s stay away from the trash talk.
OK, time for me to knuckle down on some work (at least until noon).

Good luck Carter… I thought he did a good job covering UGA sports as well.
Go dawgs today. Who else thinks it’s going to come down to UGA/Miami again at some point? After watching both games, I think those are the best two team on this side of the bracket.

I won’t miss Carter, nor his not-so-subtle underhanded digs at the Dawgs.
Funny enough, if he started out without that nonsense, his sense of humor may have been appreciated later on as a report grew between him and us.
Instead, it was an antagonizing relationship, and not very appreciated by Bulldog Nation. I always wondered if he took lessons from Moore on how to p i s s people off.
As it is, I hope, Chip, that for your sake, ours, and his, that we get Matt Winkeljohn. I get the feeling he’d rather be anywhere but Bug Central sometimes. I think his punishment for calling a spade a spade should be over, doesn’t everyone else?
I mean, it’s not like he wasn’t telling the truth when he said Little Jimmy was acting like an idiot, was he? I actually think he was kind, because Little Jimmy wasn’t just acting like an idiot on that one occasion, he was actually an idiot 24/7.
So Matt, I hope you can head over our way and get to help Chip cover a real athletic program.
We’ll appreciate you. Unlike those damn, dirty Bugs.

This might come as a surprise to Carter, but most of us can in fact read. And anyone that can read knows that he had little respect for Georgia football and its fans. Objectivity does not require being a snide condescending antagonist. Pushing buttons just for the sake of pushing buttons is not journalism. I am glad that he has moved on. Maybe his new career will bring him some happiness. He seemed miserable covering UGA athletics.

For the last time, golf is not a “sport.” Have you seen pictures of completely out-of-shape John Daly playing golf with his FAT gut while smoking cigarettes? Nascar isn’t a sport either… Don’t even compae these guys to real athletes.
Chip, you’re a 3 percenter, since you think that was a sports fans dream. That’s okay becayse sports coverage is what you do for a living. My wife think root canals are heaven, but she happens to be a dentist. I’m sure you have a differing opinion there.
Football, basketball and PRO baseball rule and take the attention of 97% of rabid sports fans. I’m crazy Dawg fan, but like 97% of fans, football is all I’m waiting for. I always wish the best for all things Dawgs, so I hope they win the CWS, but I confidently speak on behalf of 97% of Dawg Nation when I say, “Bring on the fall and College Football. Go Dawgs win the only Naional Championship we really care about.”

I think Carter did exactly what the editors expected. It’s hard to believe that his article could have read so well, but his blog have such obvious baiting and it not been contrived. You can almost peg the day that it changed. I dont think Carter had any chance of heart. I think his boss just figured it was getting counter-productive to the conversation.

Chip, Not that important but could you get some feedback from Stan Awtry about the seventh inning for the Dawgs on Saturdays game? When Weaver replaced McCree the ump walked out to the mound and carried on a lengthy conversation with Dean. I noticed that Perno came out of the dugout and questioned the ump (he seemed satisfied with the umps reply) just curious what that was about. This was post Alonso’s homer so I wondered if he was giving some sort of warning (which would have seemed odd as there was no prior incident). Again Just curious why. BTW-glad that David Thoms got a chance for redemption in the ninth after the clearly blown third strike check swing call with runners on second and third. Bet his sisters wedding reception kicked into another gear after that ninth inning!!! Thanks!

Denver, I disagree. Have you ever tried to hit a bomb from the tee box and make it draw around a dog leg? It takes a tremendous amount of hand eye coordination. Also, try walking 18 around a hilly course during the heat and humidity of the summer months. You need a lttle stamina.

Denver dog, you got two right. College football & basketball. All pro sports are a joke except golf. You think we watch to see John Daly? You should try golf sometime. You might change your opinion. As for the rest of pro sports, I’d rather watch paint dry. There are so many ridiculous rules, baseball & football that the entire outcome is determined by the refs & umps. There is no strike zone. I must admit that I have been pulling for the dogs in the CWS. The team has character.

MVP, I didn’t go to the CWS because our original plan was for Carter to do that and I had vacation planned. So when Carter resigned we were kind of stuck. But Stan Awtrey is a great guy and a helluva reporter and he was kind enough to volunteer to handle it for us… .
Denver Dawg: I disagree and agree. I think golf is very much a sport (did you notice the torque Tiger produces on his damaged left knee?)… . And I agree that South Dakota sunset beat anything anybody could be watching on TV… .
quaildawg: I’ll give stan a shout and see if he won’t provide a response right here on the blog… .

Let’s do a translation:
When you read that Carter Strickland has left the AJC to pursue other opportunities, that means that Carter was called into his boss’ office and given the opportunity to resign rather than being given a pink slip. He was not allowed to transfer to another assignment.
Carter, for your information all of the Bulldogs out there can count and read too. So there was no need for your backhand comment to us after beating Tech. Obviously, Carter, it was you who could not read – the handwriting on the wall.
The AJC will be a better paper without you.

Don’t think much about Nascar. I guess some of those guys are good at other things. But its driving a car and going real fast…PLEASE I am sure I have this all wrong, but it is so boring. Tried it twice, both times at Darlington. Left early both times. Must be me…

With regard to Carter Strickland, the AJC issue with UGA also has to do with the sports editors since they as a collective group do not correct the comments like “those UGA fans who can count” BEFORE it is printed and responded to by fans. They also somehow seem to put some reference to Tech in every UGA article regardless of how trivial, and front page headlines about UGA “arrests”, but somehow forget about that for Tech’s FELONY drug arrrests. These editors often down play any UGA major events like consecutive national champs in tennis, etc. Sometimes equal line print is NOT deserving of each school, so you should just print what is sports news - not what appeals to the 70-80 year old men who went to Tech residing in ATL who long for the days of yore.

Pretty solid outing for the Dogs. When they got through the Super Regional I thought the one Achilles heel they may have was the bullpen. Not Fields necessarily, though he hadn’t been sharp (mainly from underuse) late in the year, but more the middle relief. They’d been shaky late in the year and through the two regionals. But the bullpen has been superb in Omaha. Dodson and McCree were fantastic getting to Fields, who is showing the rest of the nation what all the fuss was about in the SEC. He’s a really good kid, too, so it’s nice to see him succeed on that stage… .
Anyway, the good news for Georgia is it is 2-0 and in the winner’s bracket while it hasn’t really performed offensively how it is capable. Chances are very good the Dogs could run into some ragged arms in the next game Friday from whomever comes out of the loser’s bracket. UGA is in great position.

8-9 CWS Record of UGA now, All-Time. Florida State is eliminated, cupcake. Florida State has never done a thing in the CWS, like all ACC teams have not. We sent Stanford over to eliminate Miami tomorrow night at 7 p.m. The winner of that game will play UGA the best 2 of 3 Friday and Saturday at 2 p.m. (Sat if necessary, since UGA already is 1-0 against both Miami and Stanford and will Win 2 of 3 on Friday, with an UGA win and not have to play Saturday.)

The 2 of 3 Championship Round starts Monday, then Tuesday and NC Game (if necessary) Wednesday, all Prime Time 7 p.m.
Getting Saturday off, would be conducive to setting up our staff. Whoever wins tomorrow night, ideally we would like to close out Friday afternoon.
ESPN the news channel 121 has nothing on UGA’s win over Stanford.
Rosenblatt Stadium, another item I hate about that old stadium is their foul poles. Good Lord. A ball hit directly in the center of the foul pole has to be a fair ball above the yellow home run line, and below it, the damn ball is in play in which those 2 runs already would have scored to give UGA the Win. Cheaters.
When a ball is thrown sidearm from the Stanford Freshman Shortstop and sails wide left, pulling the 1st Baseman off the base, the runner is safe. That is the same umpire who called the home run a foul ball.
Someone clued in the ESPN announcers on our players names, and they finally figured out that UGA is the Number 8 National Seed, not Number 4 in our Regional at Athens and Super Regional at Athens.
But, they both routed against UGA on the Home Run, saying the 1st Base Umpire got the call right when the ball hit in the center of the foul pole – directly in the center of the pole.
How can a foul pole not extend from the ground to God ?
And, have a line above which is a home run and below which is in play.
If it hits the top of the yellow pad delimiting a home run above and in play below in the center of the foul pole, and bounces over, it is a home run. If it hits the top of the yellow pad in the center of the foul pole, and bounces back, the bloody ball is in play.

These are basic baseball rules known by everyone from age 8 up.
If not before.
In this case, the ball lodged above and beyond the home run line. That’s a home run by our catcher, Bryce Massanari.
And, then Yount plunked him in the back on the next pitch. Tell me that wasn’t on purpose too ?
And, Peisel was safe at 1st too.
The balls and strikes were as inconsistently called tonight as any game I have ever witnessed.
Hey, NC State coach Elliot Avent, want to see how to hit a batter ? We showed you how to do that tonight. With a 97 mile per hour fastball to the helmet; and he was supposed to duck. Our closer, who is a closer, was not trying to hit their batter, so he could walk the next and send the tying run to 2nd base. Did you get that Elliot ?
Austin Yount sucks as a pitcher. His pitches not only look hittable, they are.
The Bulldogs’ Bullpen was terrific.
The umpires have not affected the outcomes of these games, yet. But, they clearly have tried to help out the opponents, when they are ACC teams.
And, they have blown call after call, in every game so far to make the score closer than it should have been.
And, what is this stuff about the Florida State coach refusing to shake the hand of the team that beat him. ? He just stands there in the dugout, poor sport and all. The winning coach, standing there at home plate, waiting, is still waiting you Loser Mike Martin.

Nick Montgomery probably should have walked their catcher with 1st base open. But, Stephen Dodson, Alex McRee and Joshua Fields absolutely shut the door shut again. What a thrilling win.
1 Stanford hit over the last 6 innings, that’s what UGA pitchers did.
Matt Cerione, too, was the hero with his single to score both runners who should have both already scored, if the umpires even knew the rules of the game of baseball.
The Bulldogs turned two (2) double plays and Gordon Beckham is batting .401 now, after he scored twice from the 3-hole and our clean-up hitter, Rich Poythress, scored twice.
I see the Georgia Institute of Technology is doing something about its Academics of its student-athletes. Hey Paul Hewitt, why is it again please sir why Georgia Tech’s Men’s Basketball (and Football) Academic Progress Rate is worse for Georgia Tech than UGA ? I missed that in your latest round of excuses Paul Hewitt.
Carter Strickland ? What a joke. The new guy is a lot better.

Well, if we lost a home game, Li,l Jimmy would be Hog Tied in the locker room, stripped, and cattle prodded and spanked by the players to release tension and frustration after the many loses. After all, when we has to play a BIG team likes thems in Gatorland, Tenn, etc, we does whatings wez does bests, LOSE. Waaa. I wants my daddy, he spanked me, turned around, and said, “Now do me Son”.

Zeb, sorry Your kid got hurt. Things down here are about like everywhere else, gas prices killing everybody. The housing market here is still pretty strong, thank God. So You dated some in My territory huh? Well, I couldn’t see Them all, but I damn sure gave it a try. Did You happen to see what that Posey kid did in FSU’s final game? He went 4 for five with a homer and two RBI’s, tried to win the game by Himself, but Miami gave Him an intentional walk to load the bases in the ninth, no way They were going to pitch to Him, as He was 4 for 4 at the time. All of Us here in Lee County are proud of that kid, and wish Him well with the Giants.

Zeb. if He ever plans on racing dirt bikes He had better be tough. As for Phat Phil the article said somewhere between 2.6 and 3 mill a year for 7 years. I guess that depends on different bonuses, tv show cotract and etc. I don’t know anything about a buyout clause, but Phil is shrewd, so I would think it would be pretty hefty. He can buy a Krispy Kream if He wants. Sippin’ Solvent for the clappin’ Man in the T cap, great idea!

Ryan Woolley UGA Bulldog Jersey Number 34 Pitcher Bats right Throws right 6-1 190 lbs. Sophomore from Montclair Virginia, is on the UGA Baseball Roster.
http://www.omaha.com/index.php?upage=1200&usid=10351338
This is the URL Link to the Roster.
There are 12 players on the Official Roster, who are not in the Top 25 allowed to travel to Omaha.
The player pinned under the truck is a player who has been kicked off the North Carolina Baseball Team 2008, Barrett Dail who is 20 and was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles.
By all accounts, both were drunk at the home of their host watching the Bulldogs beat Stanford when Dail jumped on the hood of the truck and Woolley slammed on the brakes pinning his friend and teammate under the truck with serious injuries.
Oh, the friends bought an 18-pack. What the heck is that ? A 12-pack is not enough for underage kids ? Who in the hell are their sponsors that they watched the win, got drunk, and now one is critical.
And, what is this $500 bail stuff ?
Ryan Woolley, sir, you plead NOT GUILTY at twice the legal limit ?
Hopefully, they can get the kid kicked off the North Carolina team for violation of team rules, undisclosed, where he can live his life. He is really torn up, like he was being dragged underneath the 2000 black Ford Ranger pick-up truck he jumped on the hood of, drunk out of his mind.
Athletes are given such great opportunities on life, and this what we get for it.
Pray Dail lives. Dail’s right foot pinned back by the tire, with road rash on the back and his legs. Dial is bleeding profusely from a wound on the back of his head, and another on his left leg.
I’ll not defend either of them.
LSU plays the loser of this game going on now, and this is what we get.

Kind of like talking about drilling offshore. It’s not the new wells as much as it is the “idea” that the US isn’t just going to sit idle that will drive the oil price down and punish the speculators.

Did a little research on google.
According to one web site Carter Strickland used to work for the Oklahoman covering OU football.
The quote was as follows:
Yes, he was the OU beat writer. Seems like there was some tension between Strickland and the OU program before he left for Atlanta. Don’t know if it’s true, but I recall hearing something to that effect.
Sounds like Carter has a history of crapping where he eats.

I pray you get some help, you desperately need it. Pretending to be someone else is a sign. Get some help before you are found in your closet hanging by a belt because you cannot handle life anymore. Someone asked about what the umpires said to coach Perno and reliever Dean Weaver during a pitching change in the first game:
Perno said it was simply to remind the pitcher and both feet must be square to the plate when the delivery is made, if there’s a runner on third base. Perno said the rule is rarely enforced, other than the CWS. Some pitchers start their delivery with their left foot slightly ahead of the right foot, a position umpires believe helps deceive the runner. Perno said the point is moot because a pitcher will throw from the stretch if a runner reaches third.
Someone thought it might be a warning since the batter prior to the pitching change hit a home run. Nope: it was just a short rules conversation.
Hope that explains it.

AJC, if you are going to put up with this I suggest a disclaimer or at least an R rating before someone comes on this blog. I cannot believe you let this go on. 309,248 fans have watched SEC Champions UGA Bulldogs’ Diamond Dawgs this 2008 season, and millions have learned the names of our heroes on TV in addition.
Joshua Fields 1st Round Major League Baseball Draft Pick (20th by Seattle Mariners) 3.50 ERA (3-2) was touched up, and clearly need the work, but the Bulldogs, whom Chip Towers said could not hit were led by 1st Round Major League Baseball Draft Pick (8th by Chicago White Sox) .403 Batting Average 26 Home Runs 94 Runs Scored 72 RBI Gordon Beckham, as Georgia advances to the Championship Round for the 2nd time in 18 years (UGA CWS National Championship 1990 Baseball) thumping Stanford for 10 runs off their best pitcher who had given up fewer runs all season long than he did today giving up 6 earned runs to UGA today.
Rich Poythress .374 Batting Average, had 4 hits including CWS Record 3 doubles today, and Ryan Peisel hit his 12th Home Run along with 3 for 5 to raise his batting average to .342. Amazing. Simply amazing for a team Chipper Towers and Carter Strickland both chimed in together, could not hit.
.310 Team Batting Average for Georgia this season, despite having the most games against Top 25 Ranked Opponents of all teams in college baseball this season, and the Most Wins against Top 25 Ranked Opponents.
9-9 CWS All-Time UGA Record now.
Bryce Massanari .336, Matt Olson .318 and Matt Cerione despite his 5 strike-outs today at .302 also are over .300 batting average to go along with Gordon Beckham .403, Rich Poythress .374, and Ryan Peisel .342.
There was a blog today that said that UGA was at a disadvantage in several ways by the rain delayed game eliminating LSU from the CWS, but the facts are that with North Carolina extending their series to a deciding game Sunday, North Carolina will possibly have to play 5 consecutive days to beat UGA.
Who will pitch for North Carolina vs. UGA ?
.
.
By ............................................BuLLdawg
June 21, 2008 11:35 PM | Link to this
Either that, or who will for Fresno State bulldogs ?
This is great for UGA, whoever wins tomorrow. First because both pitching staffs are quite well used up now, and face the Championship Round Best of 3 Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday with pitchers who, if they pitch Sunday would be tired on Monday and Tuesday.
Clearly, North Carolina’s 3-0 College World Series Ace cannot open up against UGA Monday now either, because he got the win tonight for North Carolina.
You have to like UGA’s chances, because of our HITTING , against America’s Cupcake Conference’s North Carolina who played a stinking schedule strength Number 62 in the country, while UGA SoS is Number 38 for the 3rd best SoS for UGA in the CWS and North Carolina’s SoS the absolute worst in the CWS.
http://www.boydsworld.com/baseball/isr/currentisr.html
Jeez Louise, “UGA cannot hit” Chipper Towers. Tell us again how much better hitting everyone in The SEC is than UGA Chipper Towers. Oh, and Georgia Tech hits better than UGA despite the fact that UGA is hitting 44 points higher than our Opponents (.310 UGA .266 Opponents’ Batting Average 2008.)
23 Wins for UGA Diamond Dawgs against Top 25 Ranked Teams this Baseball Season, and counting at 23-11 because of our hitting against great pitchers, like today. 34 games for UGA this season have been against Top 25 Opponents with 23 Wins. Stanford is a lot better baseball team than Miami. (53 consecutive years of futility for ACC Baseball Teams having NOT won the College World Series Baseball National Championship 53 Consecutive Years now.)
National Championship Baseball Number 2 for UGA in CWS and either 11-9 or 11-10 All-Time UGA CWS Record. Hey Georgia Tech fans (both of you), I thought you were supposed to be so great and then the ACC was supposed to be so great ?

Where did you go ? Play any sports, obviously, Stan ? Previous positions elsewhere ? How long now at AJ-C that I just noticed you when they finally replaced Carter Strickland. (Can Chipper Towers be far behind?) Stan, why not open a new blog, obviously Chipper Towers just when UGA is totally proving him wrong on our hitting decides he needs to exit stage left and go study, like he cannot have a CWS Championship Round blog for us.

Now, I can appreciate an AJ-C Sportswriter who said that UGA CANNOT HIT THE BASEBALL THIS SEASON at mid-season as we ran up our best All-Time SEC Conference Record at 20-9-1, being told to leave with Carter Strickland. And suggesting as I have too, that it takes 2 minutes to put up a blog that says Championship Series Best of 3 includes Diamond Dawgs for the 2nd time in 18 years, is further condemnation while he tries to act like he, and not Stan Awtrey, is our Beat Writer but has to go study for a few days.
And, I can certainly see how a clique of posters who NEVER COME INTO THIS BULLDOG BLOG AND EVER UTTER ONE SOLITARY WORD ABOUT BULLDOG SPORTS such as notably AltamahaDawg but only just criticism of EVERYONE but the clique would want to leave.
In fact, they have criticized me for not chipping in and helping with the two (2) Georgia Tech fans (both of them anywhere) and, how they are both in here in the Bulldogs’ Blog typing junk posts about nothing to do with UGA Sports either.
But, for the life of me I cannot understand with UGA perched to come in Number 8 in the nation in the All-Sports Trophy Directors’ Cup on the backs of our 2nd Diamond Dawgs’ National Championship in Baseball, there isn’t a damn bloody word from anyone about that.
Just crap on this poster.
Crap on this other poster.
Crap on Chip Towers UGA “Beat-Writer.”
Crap on this whole entire place.
Waaah, I am out of here.
Freaking children.
Try for once in your Lifetime to come in the UGA Beat Blog and actually talk about UGA Sports
That is too much to ask as we have rattled off a 4-game Win Streak in the College World Series to even our Record All-Time in the CWS at 9-9.
Just leave.
Who the hell cares ?
You didn’t come in here to do anything but whine at those posters and to those posters you only have something to say about anyway.
Good Riddance. None of you have contributed one stinking word on UGA Sports in this entire blog, again.

And, as for the 12-year old children who wake up and read daddy’s AJ-C telling them that since they are 1 of the 5 million living in this city, that they should therefore root for Georgia Tech…
Why again is it that I should join in the clique in criticizing and discussing what they wrote ?
I came in here to bond about my alma mater and how great in All-Sports we have done this year again because of the GREAT HITTING that UGA has had all season long in 34 games against The Top 25 Ranked Baseball Games of which we have now Now 23.
And, to rub it into Chip Towers face how UGA CAN HIT.
10 runs off a Stanford Starter, their ACE, who had not given up 5 runs total all season long and we torched him for 6 earned runs and as a direct result only, they are gone.
Can’t hit Chipper Towers ?
UGA can’t hit the baseball this season. Tell us again how many in the SEC are better (UGA SEC Champions), and how Georgia Tech hits the ball better than UGA too (Lost the Series AGAIN this season to UGA.)
Go Diamond Dawgs.
What a hitting machine they are, and not just the 1st 6 in the line-up, but the whole line-up.
And, we have played a ton of Bulldogs this College World Series, as two dozen UGA players have played.
We have kicked some butt.

Would it REALLY hurt Altamandog to talk UGA sports? I think that persona is just trying to offend you. On the rare occasion that Altamaduma— talks sports, it is ALWAYS NEGATIVE!
UGA Fans should be proud of the way the University is being represented. People like Altamandawg just want to pose as Dawg fans, make alliances on the Gt blog, and irritate REAL GEORGIA DOGS!

According to the B.S. Clique, talking UGA Sports in the UGA Sports Blog, is to FLAME a poster in every post and never have 1 other post in the entire blog here again that is NOT A FLAME of a poster.
But, it’s wrong to quote stats.
Let me make sure I have this straight ?
Sports is not about Numbers, according to you.
Therefore NEVER post that UGA Won 3 of the 4 football games against the Final AP Poll Top 25 (while Florida and Tim Tebow **LOST 4 of the 5 they played in football )
And, therefore FLAME the ever-loving crap out of for daring to know that UGA has ALSO Won 23 of the 34 games against the Baseball Top 25 Ranked Teams this year.
That’s acceptable.
Now, try - if you are able - to post any post about UGA Sports that does NOT INVOLVE some number ?
Go ahead a*******whipe, I’m waiting.

I don’t exactly know why Bulldawg needs to attack everyone, many of whom seem to be UGA fans, but I will still give credit where credit is due. the UGA baseball team has done one hell of a job and is but a couple of games from winning it all. North Carolina, as I pointed out, used their pitcher again last night (and the night before.) He won both of those games. He also won earlier in the week. 3-0. He had nothing in the tank, and was pitched anyway.
Fresno State has also used its pitchers.
All Bulldog final. This game on ESPN Classic Channel 122.

tell us more about how you are here to “bond” with people from your Alma Mater. i’ve never seen you even be civil with anyone, I doubt that becoming “bonded” with someone or being part of a “clique” is gonna be your downfall in life.
complaining about someone flaming you? what a joke! you are the wanna be “king” of the flamethrowers, and you don’t discriminate about it. its no wonder that Chip doesn’t like taking care of the blog, you harrass him at every chance. he asked you to stop calling him “chipper” and it thrilled you to know that you found a way to get under his skin, so you do your best to irritate him to no end.
respect and a willingness to peacefully co-exist are just minimum investments in human decency, not the definition of a “clique”.
you should try it, it might even cause people to return some respect back to you instead of recognizing you as a hypocrite.

SoS North Carolina State Number 69. SoS Georgia Tech Number 65. SoS Florida State Number 63. SoS North Carolina Number 60. SoS Miami Number 49. SoS Georgia Diamond Dawgs who OWN Georgia Tech in Baseball and the entire ACC Number 37. That’s why the ACC Never win the CWS and why UGA does instead.
We play twice as good opponents as the stinking America’s Cupcake Conference.
I will NOT be run out of here by would-be moderators whining that they cannot have their way to post drivel by a clique who reply to 12-year olds (and whine to me that I will not) and never post about UGA Sports.

This blog has really gone in the toilet. Hey Chip! The ajc needs to choose a new format and put some controls on the blog. You know it has gotten ridiculous when #39 is the least offensive blogger in here….
FANS OF CHAN (now aka JOHNSON’S JOHNSONS). Look for ya’ll at the main message board atsecfanatics.com and in the Georgia room The Dawg House at the same site.

How sad to see our beloved Dawgs go down in flames in the CWS Championship game tonight. To the “where the f**k is Fresno” fan who ran his mouth Monday night after UGA’s amazing win, remember this: karma is a b***! You (not substandard pitching and dead bats) lost the game tonight for UGA and if I see you at a football game this fall, I will knock the teeth out of your loud mouth. STAY AWAY FROM UGA FOOTBALL!!!

Congrats DOGS!!!!
So sorry, Dawg fans….but as a California native I am SO tired of our teams losing to SEC teams. Don’t even get me started on the ** and misconceptions I get to hear about my beloved home state’s colleges and culture.
BTW - I’m not even a Fresno fan. I’m a Cal fan - but when it comes to these match-ups I’ve started rooting for whichever West Coast team the SEC is playing.

Hey…………………BuLLdawg,
I thought you said the Diamond Dogs could hit. Beckham hit a homer to make it 6-1 on Wednesday - why aren’t you popping off about that? Why no posts from you after June 24th? Did your computer break? Did your head explode? Heart attack?
Did you watch the final game against Fresno State? Man, that pitcher looked pretty good. And that Detwiler kid wasn’t too shabby, either. I guess maybe we shouldn’t have thrown so many hittable pitches his way. But I sure was proud of my boy Cerione. Nice kid. Very coachable.
Lets see, do I have the numbers correct: UGA was 1-2 against WAC teams this year? Now there’s some numbers for ya.
Get used to more disappointment this fall. Or do you watch football? Maybe you could get you a GymDogs shirt. What size do you wear?

BuLLdawg, I hate to say it, but karma is a B I T C H, and your usual nasty invective and hyperbolic hysteria probably cost our Dawgs a College World Series championship. Even if you don’t believe in karma, you sure made us look like the purveyors of bad sportsmanship.
Thanks for nothing, C H U M P.

Hey, BuLLdawg, could you tell me what is now UGA’s All-Time CWS record? Just want to make sure I have it correct, seeing as how you keep up with those things.
Georgia can hit. You were right. You should play the lottery.
UGA played like one of those ACC teams you are so fond of.

These blog posts are way more entertaining than the actual articles. I really do wonder though if there are around 100 people out there who post comments, or only about 20 who just post under different names, to make everyone mad. Regardless it is all hilarious. I just wanted to thank the AJC for allowing such ridiculous posts to be done on a supposed “legitimate” newspaper website. Classic
Oh yeah, the “Helena Olivero” post…well played
