UGA blog finds new home

Morning all. As I’ve said a couple of times this week, we’re converting this blog over to a WordPress platform and it will be a permanent move the first of next week.

Those of you who are regulars probably know that I’m not what you’d call techno-wizard when it comes to these things. But from what I understand the technology offered in this new format should make the blogging and commenting experience better for all. Of course, I’ll be learning as we go along, too. But I’m hoping to provide more pictures and video and things like that which should bring the blog more to life.

Of course, this blog is nothing without all you guys so I want to heartily invite (read: beg) you to come over to the new site by CLICKING HERE ON THE NEW ADDRESS and save it in your browsers. As of Monday, Feb. 23rd, this will be the permanent home of the UGA blog you so love or, in the case of some of you, love to loathe. If you’d prefer to copy and paste or just memorize, the new address is: http://blogs.ajc.com/uga-sports-blog/.

See at the new place!

Look what the Dogs brought in …

Jefferson County High School’s A.J. Harmon had professed his allegiance to Clemson long ago.

But the 320-pound lineman pulled a rabbit out of his hat Saturday during the U.S. Army All-American Bowl at the Alamodome when he announced he’d be playing football at Georgia. But even that wasn’t firm.

“I’ve got a knot on my head that I can’t get out right now,” Harmon would tell the AJC afterward.

He says he is “100 percent Georgia right now,” but who knows come signing day next month.

How about you? What’s your feeling about the state’s top recruit’s indecision? Is it annoying or understandable?

Have the Bulldog’s recent successes inspired recruits to take a new look at Mark Richt’s lighter-side of coaching? Or was Georgia’s top recruit just itching to stay home?

Now … will he play offense or defense?

Aj.. Welcome to the Dawg Nation!! Am so glad you are a part of the Georgia Bulldogs TEAM!! Saw you 3 times at the games this year.. I hope the Blackout helped influence you on just what a special team you are now a part of.. And an assist to Fernando for showing you ‘inside the Dawg Nation’…

You will play a HUGE role in keeping this program at/near the top of College Football!!

War Eagle, your comments sound suspiciously like sour grapes. When a UGA commitment changed to Auburn you weren’t hear crying about it.

Lots of 17 & 18 year old kids have second or third thoughts about where to go to school. AJ will continue the pattern of NFL successful linemen from UGA, and it doesn’t matter whether it is offense or defense.

AJ Green will play immediately for the Dogs in the 2008 season opener. He is too talented not to. The Dogs are going to be scary good in 2008 and 2009.

This is Great News…. Now we are starting to develop depth on the O-line which is where you win football games. And now that we have have committed to running the ball 35+ times a game we need depth on the O-line just like we have depth at running back.

Mr. Harmon, we are looking forward to having you be a part of the program. It is never easy to pick a school for even a normal student, and I know it is especially tough for an athlete. But you are going to be surrounded by great coaches, other good men playing along side you, and a HUGE (and growing) DawgNation that loves its Bulldogs. Go Dawgs!

At 6-5, 320 it will be hard not to put him on the O-line. Its hard to find guys with that kind of size. I’m not too much into hype but Georgia should be in very good shape up front for the next couple of years and that’s where games are won.

If nothing else, this past season should illustrate why you need a healthy supply of the wide bodies.

Early in the year, Stafford was confined to dink passes because of the inexperience of the O-line.

Need further proof, ask Hawaii where the game is won and lost. They would probably say, “Mulawakihaikisaw, in the trenches, big guy, in the trenches.”

You Uga fans dont need to get too carried away with Harmon. He may still change his mind. Uga has really stirred up a hornets nest with the Clemson Folks too. They say they cant wait to play the Dawgs in baseball and put yall away since Uga wont play Clemson in football and now basketball. This might awake the sleeping giant in the ACC. Clemson get a lot of nobodys out og the State of Ga. and they can score a lot of points on people. Cullen Harper has shown he is better than Stafford will ever be at Uga. Those Tigers are licking their chops to play Uga again in 2013 (not sure on the year). Uga better watch out!!!! those Clemson fans are LOUD!

Commings is also a baseball prospect who plans on playing baseball at UGA. I don’t know what his prospects are for the MLB draft but he hasn’t even played as a HS senior yet.

As far as this year making UGA more attractive, almost all of our recruiting was done before we made our run and before the guys started to look like they were really having fun out there. I think the results of this year will come in the ‘09 class as most kids are making their minds up early these days.

However, success has one shortcoming and that is that we have a lot of kids looking for “instant gratification.” The better you are, the deeper you are and the more comp a recruit sees ahead of him. There are some guys who have the confidence that they can compete immediately and there are those who want to play for a proven team and then there are just Dawg fans who always wanted to play at UGA. You will lose those guys who aren’t intersted in sitting out a redshirt year and then being a part timer for 2 years though which is going to be the case for a lot of guys in the next few years. I’m not worried about that though. You usually don’t want those guys anyway.

Anyone know if we have any more open spots? If so how many?

Also, if you are the fan of an opposing team out there, how does your team, or any team for that matter, beat a healthy UGA next year? I’m just curious b/c if I’m a DC or an OC trying to come up with something I think it would be pound the ball and keep Knowshon on the sideline. Fortunatley for us, everyone is going to these finesse offenses that our defensive speed just feasts upon. Anyway, just wondering b/c I see us as a very, very difficult team to beat if we play with fire and throw 25 times or less as we have been doing and will continue to do.

By I-DOG

January 5, 2008 6:51 PM | Link to this

Wow,

Congratus to Richt and his staff for another great recuriting class. This is one of the big reasons that he has been able to consistantly have teams that finish in the top 10.

This year’s team should finish at #4 or possibly #3 depending on how bad Ohio state looks if they get beat again in the national title game. I think it is more likely the Dawgs finish 4th.

The people who say that UGA underachieves like the “ole Ball Coach” make no sense whatsoever. He references “NFL” talent as the reason that UGA underachieved this year. Of course, he conveniently leaves out two key facts:

1.) UGA was ranked around 14th to start the season (anywhere between 13 and 18 to be precise) and finished 4th. How is that underachiving?

2.) UGA will probably place fewer players in the NFL this season than at any time in recent history. The main reason for this is that very few players on this team were Seniors or Juniors with exceptional NFL ability. Will there be anyone taken in the first three rounds?

Who will play go to the NFL from this year’s team? Don’t get me wrong, I’d like to see all of the Seniors make it in, but that is not reality with this group:

The Juniors that scare me the most about leaving early would be Jeff Owens and Southerland. I don’t think Owens would go in the top 3 rounds if he came out this year. While he is very strong he doesn’t have prototypical size for the NFL and doesn’t yet have the resume to overcome that.

Southerland could go pretty high so that is one we would all be sweating out. If UGA starts out ranked in the top 5 and has a great season, he could be a top 15 pick in the first round next year if he stays.

The last team we’d be ducking is clemson. We’ve owned them the last few times we’ve played. Don’t think they’ve beat us since the early 90’s. Awaken a sleeping giant in the ACC? Give me a break. The acc is a joke and that’s probably why this kid had second thoughts about playing there. Let’s see … go to the ACC championship and play in front of 30,000 (if your lucky) or go to a sell out in the GA dome? Seems like a pretty easy choice to me. Harmon might waver but he will eventually go to UGA. He is one of those prima donna athletes who knows where is going all along and takes pleasure in keeping everyone else in suspense. There is something very special happening in Athens and he will want to be part of that. Richt will win more than one national title before its over. After all, have you ever been to Clemson? Directions: north and east to nowhere. And the ACC is sliding down the slippery slope to insignificance.

I don’t know why I’m always so surprised at how delusional college football fans are. This kid just bailed on a commitment to another school. Why in the world would you get excited about what he’s saying now? He’s a kid. Think to when you were that age. You change your mind 10 or 12 times a day on almost every subject. I don’t have a dog in this fight, but you’d be wise to reserve your excitement and congratulations for when the young man actually signs to play for a school. Not when he’s making “commitments” that are worth absolutely nothing.

It’s a shame the AJC and other media outlets report this kind of stuff. When the kids sign scholarship offers, report it. Until then, it’s just posturing by 17- and 18-year-olds, and it’s beneath adults to get excited by it.

OTS You got the “Future” part right. More like Distant Future. Only advise I have for Harmon follow your gut. If it’s Clemson fine. UGA-great. Anyone of you thought of the real culprits in this commit hype? It’s Rivals, NBC, Scouts, etc. They pump these kids for a dollar and I wouldn’t be surprised if they weren’t whispering in some of these kids ears, “hey we’ll give you a slot on National TV to make your commit” and pressuring them to do something they may not feel comfortable with. This kids from Jefferson County, GA and this is possibly his first time being exposed to this kind of Celeb status. Heck look at what happens to little girls from LA when they hit the bright spotlights. All I say is cut the kid some slack and let this thing play itself out before rushing to judgement. One kid is not going to make or break UGA or Clemson.

A general piece of wisdom in life is to make a choice the best we can, then stick with it and “make the choice right” but making all the positives one can make from that choice, and minimizing the negatives.

So its not so much make the right choice, but make a very wise choice, and then make it right by making all the most of it.

Certainly, UGA would be a very fine and wise choice to get a good education and good opportunity to work with Searels and Garner, two of the very best, along with Richt, one of the very best. However, probably Clemson also has good coaches and good academics, and would also be a wise and defensible choice.

There is no one “right” choice in most of life, but only several wise and defensible ones, that we then through “commitment” make right through making the most of it and not looking back. This is very hard to learn for some of us, but with God’s help, we can discover blessings and His help in many good paths.

Its part of maturity to learn to make a choice, put the past behind, and make the most of the path we have chosen, and God will then bless that path as we follow Him along that path.

Of course, as a UGA fan, we would love to have AJ.

jm1412 Well Said. I am highly amused a these so called Recruiting Experts who placate and sully their own information for the sake of selling more rags. Two examples I perused over the past few years regarding UGA ‘commits’ that I found suspicious and were I a so-called subscriber I would be demanding my money back. Matt Stafford was the #1 QB going into his SR year. Once he committed early to UGA (and took the suspense out) he shortly thereafter dropped n these jokes called “rankings”. Surely these so-called experts wouldn’t do such a thing to sell their rags?! BTW-Same thing seems to have happened with the Green kid in SC vs. the Jones kid in AL that’s still “undecided”. Green went down and this kid has gone up. LOL Another occurred just recently where UGA’s overall recruiting score (whatever that is supposed to be) dropped yet UGA had no defectors from the class and the HS seasons were over. Whatever!!!

I posted on Rivals just now that the right thing to do would be for UGA and Clemson to agree to back off AJ for now. After 10 minutes it was deleted and I expect to be blacklisted by tomorrow..again.Since that form of censorship isn’t exrecised here I’ll make my point. If CMR doesn’t instruct coach Garner to back off and give Harmon some room the school deserves a backlash. It’s clear any pressure at this time would be taking advantage of a 17 or 18 year old kid.

How funny it would be if all three schools: Georgia, Clemson, and South Carolina.. all waited to the end and said, WE DECIDED NOT TO GIVE YA A SCHOLARSHIP. The kid is a moron. Have you heard him attempt to communicate with other human beings? In the end.. the MORON.. will not even qualify.. then he’s just another fat over weight HAS BEEN.

Quaildawg…. If parents would rear their children and teach them responsibilty and also teach them what committment means then AJs reponse would have been Clemson case closed. Doesnt matter if he is from Tinsel Town , Bum F* Egypt or Tiny Town USA. Heck 60 years ago 16 and 17 year olds were YOUNG MEN not kids and running Farms with responsibilty. and their word was respected. People like yourself want to be easy on the Kids or anyone else who breaks their word or wants to be wishy washy. Pathetic

Bandwagon, I regret the “loser” remark and apologize, but I’m gonna cut this kid some slack for the simple reason that I don’t know anything about him other than his name and where he is from and that he must be a pretty fair HS player. I have no knowledge of family upbringing so I withold judgement, I don’t know what influence he has or lacks (mother/father) so I withold judgement. I don’t know whether he is a Tony Milton type who has no family and basically floated (had some problems) but with a little concern and guidance from a caring soul helped him find his way (and we found out this kid-Milton- basically just wanted a chance. Period) As the saying goes “until you walk in a man’s shoes”. I have no knowledge of anything that was, is or has been AJ Harmon so I withold judgement. February whatever will be here soon enough and then he will make his utimate decision and the one that will truly count. Until then…

Quaildog dont sweat it! Ive been called worse. I still think he needs to get with his high school Coach and his parents and make a statement to both schools so each can get on recruiting. He must understand that his education is very important first. I’ll look as wishy washy as AJ here but… Sure, I’d like to see kids wait until signing day if they aren’t confident in their choice, but it cuts both ways.

If a kid commits to a school, there is no guarantee that a single coach will still be there for his Sophmore year. Look at Gailey’s last recruiting class at Tech!

There is no guarantee that YOUR team will run the same offense (lets say you are a smallish running back or drop back passer, you may choose a program partly for the offense they run). What if it chnages to something where you are no longer needed?

You cannot transfer without losing a year of eligibility.

If it were my son, I would tell him that I would support his decision of whichever school he committed to at whatever time in the process… but that he should stand by his decision unless the coaching staff changed.

What is all this talk about Harmon being a thug. Has he actually done anything wrong (other than being wishy washy in recruiting?)

Chip or anyone else who knows the answers to these questions or an opinion on them:

I was surprised that Marcus Washington started in the Sugar bowl and also that Gamble was playing early in the first quarter. UGA seemed to be playing in a lot of 2 linebacker sets which made both of these moves even more surprising… Any inside knowledge of why these guys moved up so far in the rotation?

I was equally stunned that Prince Miller started over Bryan Evans. I thought Miller had a mediocre year in that he seems to bowled over in the running game and gets lost in coverage. Did he have a great bowl practice or was Evan’s in the dog house?

Brandon Miller looked very good at DE in the Sugar Bowl. Many of us were clamoring for him to move there last Spring… Of course, EVERYONE on the DL looked good against Hawaii, but does Richt regret not moving him in hindsight?

Stafford made a jump forward this year particulary in protecting the ball. However, he wasn’t as accurate as I thought he would be at this stage, particularly on deep passes. Early in the year, he didn’t have time to throw, but that changed as the season went on… what will he and Bobo do to get his completion percentage up in the sixties?

Any thoughts?

I personally don’t see what all the fuss is about? I have seen this kid do 3 or 4 interviews and the only place he will play next year is at Hargrave. He is an embarassment to the Georgia education system. His teachers at Jefferson should be investigated. I believe Georgia needs another cornerback more.

I-Dog,

Your comments on the Prince are dead on. I made the trip to Knoxville and watched TN beat him like a drum. He was not ready this year, but this situation was created by Paul Oliver flunking out. We will be a good team next year, but I think our corners could be our weakness unless the Prince improves dramatically. Why can’t we recruit better corners? We seem to snag a top safety every year.

Harmon reminds me of of an o-line that switched from UGA to Fla. State after committing eary on to UGA (Antwan Greenlee), who did not play for Fla. State this year, redshirt?-he switched on signing day & UGA also got an o-line the same way - named Little. Little started out committing to Notre Dame , then he switched to Fla. State and finally switched to UGA on signing day! Little was overweight and out of shape - he was redshirted this year… and will be 2nd or 3rd on the depth chart next year.

i dog,i don’t have the inside scoop, just some ideas about your questions.prince miller may have done the best job on short passing routes in practice.stopping the run with our cbs was not an issue with the warriors.washington has played well at mike so his starting was nothing unusual to me,ditto with gambel.playing only two linebackers means the dogs are in the nickle.dent was taken out of the game to allow for the extra db.it seems that the dawgs like to mix their coverages against the spread, trying to keep their oc guessing.i am sure coach willie would have liked to move miller to end earlier and he probably would have if hebron had come through, but we were short of experenced lbs.we had to replace three starters.when curran,a true freshman, got his feet on the ground it allowed coach willie to move miller to de.stafford has done a great job of managing the game and calling audibles at the line, something many college qbs are not allowed to do.i would hope his touch on the long ball improves, after all,he has only started 18 games.the problem with many qbs like stafford is that they rely on their arm rather than technique.elway said he didn’t really learn to deliver the ball properly untill his third year in the pros, untill then he relied on the strength of his arm.stafford may look like a pro qb,but he is just 19 or twenty, not old enough to buy a beer,at least legally!i would like to have both ajs at uga,but if hebron changes his mind it is ok by me,not that he would care, nor should he.i hope he will go where he can be successful and i wish him well.i think his future is better as an o lineman,a 5.8 40 will not cut it for a d lineman at uga, even a tackle.i am not sure about a 2.6 gpa either.trinton was a freshman all-american,but he had a 4.0+ gpa and graduated early.the extra six months to get accustomed to college life, the time at the training table and in the weight room, the time to study the play book, and spring practice all helped jump start trinton.if aj signs with uga i don’t see him in the rotation next year, much less starting.ben jones, imo, will be the”horse”of this classe’s o linemen.he is set to be on campus this month,he graduated early,so he must be smart enough to learn the playbook in time to have a good spring.for all the remarks about big dumb jocks o linemen have to be smart and level headed.a qb can never be any smarter than his linemen allow him to be.i am an old o lineman,so of course i am unbiased!

He is quickly showing everyone that he may not be a team player that he should be. If he is good as all the scouting reports say he is then it shouldn’t matter what school he goes to for football. You all only need to find him a college family that will nurture and love him while he is away from home. You have talent that only a few human beings are blessed with, the gift of playing sports and being part of a brotherhood of young men that will embrace you. Good luck to you AJ and your family but it is not proper to yank the chains of people.

Carter, you are the most depressing, non-objective reporter I have ever had the displeasure of reading. Please pass your keyboard over to Chip and let him cover recruiting.

The last time I checked, forced servitude is illegal in Georgia since Jan 1, 1863. Harmon can go whereever he likes, Carter, and the last time I checked, most 18 year olds have a hard time making decisions. So, shut up.

With that said, I am sure he has thought this through, and instead of slamming the guy in a piece, what don’t you just say what he said: Harmon plans to be a Dawg. Brilliant decision, btw, and that should be a call he will look back on with pride 40 years from now.

Good post ATLDAWG, but Mr & Mrs Harmon should also have spent some time reading to AJ and making this student read as a youth. It can’t be possible that this child is an actual graduate of the HS system in Ga. Considering that many coaches on all levels bounce around like rag dolls when the next best opportunity arises, it is interesting how people attack a 16-17 year old individual who wavers on where he’d like to attend college. Yes he is young and he is building a mountain that he may not be able to climb. Shane, Cuz, and Bulldog Greg,

Thanks for your insights. Nothing against Washtington at Mike LB, but he seemed to be Ellerbe’s backup this year so his starting the first series surprised me especially against a pass happy team like Hawaii. He seems to be more built for stopping the run.

I have to disagree with Quail Dog on the recruiting rankings for players. I don’t have any allegiance to Scout or Rivals, but I think they do a surpisingly good job. Not of ranking a player 1,2 or 3 at their position, but the ranking of 1 through 5 stars pans out to be pretty accurate.

Of course, there are cases of a 5 star player washing out and a 2 star player going on to be All SEC, but these are the exceptions. I don’t think they have any bias in their rankings that I have seen.

When I read the comments concerning Mr. Harmon’s soft committment to the Dawg Nation, I was both happy and sad. Part of me, because I am a “DAWG TO THE BONE”, wants to chastise the young man for dangling a carrot (by saying he might be coming to Georgia). Another part of me realizes that he is still a young man trying to find his way in a grown up world. The only thing that I want to say is that indecision has brought great leaders of the world to their knees. A real leader makes a definitive decision and then deals with the outcome after all is said and done. A.J., Make a firm decision, whatever it may be, and stick with it. God Bless you A.J.

What audacity to post something as stupid as you did when the bloggers on this post are talking football and not the English language. You don’t even know this kid. Maybe everyone doesn’t speak with the eloquence that you think you do but that gives you no reason to talk about this kid. I will tell you this, he is probably a lot smarter than you because he will be making a lot of money when he is playing on Sunday’s. Do you have any idea of how smart these players have to be to learn playbooks and studying video? Keep your mouth shut and post something with substance! If Harmon does join the dawgs, he will have a national championship ring to add to his list of impressive awards. Go dawgs!

don’t get too carried away fellas, harmon is just another kid enjoying his day in the limelight.as an interior lineman he will have little enough of it in the future, except when he screws up and gets a penalty.i think these ratings are okay for comparing players, but they do not tell you how hard a kid will work.the competition at all major schools is very fierce,it doesn’t matter if aj goes to clemson or uga,if he wants playing time he is going to have to earn his slot.all coaches want to reward the kids that work the hardest, they set an example for the team.harmon has a lot of potential, but to quote the immortal “bum” phillips,”that’s a ten dollar word that means ain’t done a damn thing yet!”

SUGGESTION: go to onlineathens.com and read: ‘Bulldogs snag major recruit-for now.’ Jeff Sentell who wrties for Augusta Chronicle (sister paper to Athens Banner Herald) gives the clearest picture of what this kid has experienced and where his heart had been for several months. Unlike the typical parsed piece by C Strickland that basically lends itself to a driveby character assasination it goes in depth regarding Harmon, the UGA Coaches, etc. I highly suggest reading this.

If you cannot get the piece I mentioned above basically the Harmon kid is experiencing what I suspected last night. Jefferson County Coach J.B. Arnold, “It would not shock me if AJ said next week he was going to Clemson. AJ is a good kid but an emotional kid. HE DOESN”T WANT TO DISAPPOINT ANYBODY, BE A PROBLEM OR LET ANYONE DOWN.” I’m sure there was some lashback from the CLemson Coaches and this kid is REALLY torn now. Unfortunatley AJ in recruiting the thing you don’t want is what you MUST do. I, personally, wish you the best with your decision where ever that may lead you.

I realize A. J. Harmon is a talented but confused young man. However UGA football is past this kind of tease. I say tell Harmon thanks but no thanks publicly. This will send a larger message to these oversized attention seekers that it a rare priviledge to play football at UGA. From a so-so reliable source I hear that W. Ealey is already 19 yrs old and has a very very low standing SAT score.

I can understand the kid might be torn..thats why you just tell everyone you will announce on signing day if you’re not sure. He’s obviously enjoying the liemlight as well and loving the attention he’s getting from schools begging him to come play for them. He needs to look up the meaning of COMMITMENT, and say nothing until you are READY to COMMIT, whether it be Clemson, Georgia or wherever. This is the advice that should be coming from his parents and especially his high school coach!

I hope UGA doesn’t hold a scholarship for this Harmon kid. If we have one available in febuary and he would like to sign on the dotted line then o.k. But don’t bypass some kid who knows in his heart he wants to play football for UGA to hold a scholarship for someone who wants to play games. I’m fine with a kid changing his mind once because it’s a life altering decision. But for this guy to change his mind and then immediately start with this flim-flam about he is still unsure is uncalled for. It makes me wonder if he is a solid person or if he is going to be trouble. I want UGA to go after young men who are real football players and not prima-donnas starving for attention. Besides our offensive line is in great shape anyway so maybe a school like Florida State would be a better fit for a guy of his character.

Lets use this analogy: There’s a really hot girl that you’re crazy about, but you find out she’s been dating someone else. You both want her to pick you, and only you. She picks the other guy, but then she calls you and tells you that you’re her choice, and you feel great, until she tells you, well, you’re kinda her choice, but she still really likes the other guy too. She’s going to stick with you, but she still says she might change her mind again and pick the other guy. At some point, you have to do whats best for you, wish them luck, and move on to bigger and better things. I think its time for UGA to wish him well, and move on to bigger and better things as well!

Some of you A.J. harmon a$$ lickers need to get a grip. He’s not under any more pressue than other top high school recruits. Is he somehow more special and we should all pat him on the head because he has a hard decision to make? GEEZ. What kind of message does that send to other recruits coming up? Folks on this blog are not coming down hard on him for changing his mind once, from clemson to UGA. It’s the fact that the dude changes schools in front of a national television audience and then less than 24 hours later he’s once again being wishy washy about where he wants to go to school. I’m a UGA fan and personally I hope he choses clemson in the end because we don’t need kids who are unsure of themselves. In the end thats where the problem really lies, he’s unsure of himself and doesn’t trust his own decision making capabilities. I say we make a strong push for some big time undecided recruits and forget about harmon.

According to the Augusta Chronicle, Harmon said he’s solid to Georgia and will not take his visit to Clemson later this month as he had originally planned. He said he tried to commit a few weeks ago but Georgia didn’t have a scholarship left to give him, and that when Coach Richt called back to say one had opened up(Barnes leaving, I assume), that he committed on the spot. Apparently, the decision was made a while back but the announcement was held until yesterday. The article made him sound very solid. There are definitely mixed signals depending on who you listen to. I guess we’ll know soon enough.

Gadawgs7, that story makes zero sense about the lack of a scholarship. Harmon’s supposed commitment has not kept UGA from continuing to recruit other players, including offensive lineman zebrie sanders from ohio. He reportedly will make his decision next sunday between UGA and UF. So how is it that UGA was out of scholarships two weeks ago and now even with harmon in the fold were still recruiting? And the person responsible for the mixed signals is harmon himself not some newspaper. The AJC was just quoting straight from the horses mouth!

bowhunter the reason some bloggers call Georgia players thugs is jealousy plain and simple. We beat their team on the field and their self esteem is low. So they lash out in poor sportsmanship. Facts mean nothing to these people.

The basic rule has always been that the winner gets what has always been called bragging rights. With the anonymity of a blog these cowardly critics say things they would be afraid to say in person because in person they would be called out. Some are so cowardly they won’t even admit what team they do support.

I am glad to hear you say you think Clemson is a great school. I like beating great rivals. It makes the victory even more satisfying. It certainly doesn’t make any sense to criticize a team that beats you. That makes the losers effort even less worthy and it just beats me how some of these critics don’t see that.

for everyone who is saying harmon go to clemson if you not 100% sure Uga is what you want is not on the same page of coach richt. Obviously he is real good and coach richt isn’t concerned that he is still not completely decided as UGA still covets him, even though he cant make up his mind. That should tell everyone that the decision makers at Athens are not concerned with his team status and still want him bad. Bad enough to tell him he can play DT if he comes in shape. Fans should want him because Richt wants him, and im willing to trust his opinion of a guy he knows and seen play rather than what us fans THINK of him. All of you guys have never talked to the guy. Richt seems to know good guys and ill trust him and the coaching staff rather than hearsay from others. That or Richt knows that he is a huge talent and is willing to deal with with this maybe stuff and still offer him because he is that good. on a side note, i believe we are out of scholarships at 25. Ziebre Sanders is down to UGA and Florida. Hes leaning toward uga so what will happen if we do not have anymore scholarships? make a crappier player give up theirs? fill me in dawg fans!

I am only telling you what he told the Augusta Chronicle in an interview after the game yesterday. You can read it for yourself and take it for what its worth. I had heard rumors about the scholarship offer being withdrawn to Harmon a few weeks ago, and that was when he supposedly reaffirmed his commitment to Clemson. He even made the statement that at that time he wanted to go to a school that played Georgia so he could hit Matthew stafford on every play. I don’t think it meant there were no more scholarships at all, just that with only a couple of scholarships left, they were withdrawing the offer to him. when Barnes left, it opened up another one, and according to the writer of the article, thats when CMR called and told him they had a scholarship open up and he said he jumped at it. I have no idea how much, if any of this is true, but this was the gist of the article, which makes it sound like a pretty sure thing. I think with Harmon, NO ONE, probably not even Harmon himself, will know until signing day is here.

what do you guys think of the spread offense now?i have seen it three times in person this year and my opinion is that it can be a useful tool to have in ones playbook but is certainly not the be all and end all.imo a fast, mobile,qb like rod is supposed to bring to the big blue this year is certainly a plus in the spread.tebow is a strong inside runner but isn’t a threat to break a long one like the uvw qb.i am thinking of logan possibly coming in for a few plays next year and running the spread.his speed and four or five of our wrs would certainly put the fear of god in any dc.i don’t think the spread will win a sec title however and i don’t see it as a successful offense in the long run.there is just too much speed in the sec defenses,i think the defensive coaches are starting to adjust for the spread, and without tes and good blocking tbs and fbs in the game these lanky, fast, des are teeing off on the qbs.all three qbs that i saw running the spread took terrible beatings, tebow and colt especially.getting smacked from the blind side by a 6’5”,250lb de with a full head of steam,or a big fast safety or lb on a blitz can end a good qb’s nfl career before it starts.i am just intrested in your opinions on the subject.

Vols rule, you seem to be playing by time honored rules.

Tennessee beat us this year and the year before and it was ugly. That means Tennessee has the bragging rights. For the past 2 years. It doesn’t mean Tennessee owns us.

Just a hunch…are you actually Dawgs Lose hiding behind a different posting name? Are you truly a Tennessee fan?

I loved it when UT beat Wisconsin. I was pulling for the Vols!

As far as UGA being thugs, name one Georgia player who has been convicted of anything other than a traffic offense. If you really want to get into a comparison of criminal records between UT and Georgia okay. Just be prepared to present facts that can be verified and be prepared to be called out as a slanderer.

Georgia will end up ranked number 2 or 3 this year…I sincerely hope UT makes it to the top 10 too.

Cuz, thanks for the kind remarks. I don’t post on here much anymore. The level of discussion on this blog is sinking fast. Seems like mostly what we get are haters and liars. Maybe that’s harsh, but it is a fact. In fact, maybe it is the anthesis of harsh. There are some really stupid people posting on here.

I talked with Jake Scott before the Sugar Bowl and he thought Hawaii had a decent chance based on what he had seen from them.

I talked with him again after the Sugar Bowl and he is really impressed with the job Willie has done.

I don’t know if you remember my predictions from preseason, but I predicted an improvement from last year’s record with our being ” a load” by the end of the year. Heck, all I did was listen to Richt.

We’ve done better than I thought we would do and right now we are playing as well as anybody in college football.

It is just a shame we don’t have a playoff. There are about 8 teams that could make a legitimate claim that they could win it all and we are one of them. There are plenty of nay-saying idiots out there who could say otherwise. Some of them are in the media. The problem is, without a playoff there is always going to be a lot of hot air from people who don’t know what they are talking about. I am sick of it. I say let’s have a playoff and shut up the idiots.

thanks for the props gen,i hope you are right.i have been around longer than most on this blog so i know that a lot of winning a championship involves pure luck!hopefully the stars will align for the dawgs this year but so much can happen.just think,if shula had pulled prothro from that game instead of trying to”run up”the score he might still be coaching at alabama.one break can change a whole season, that’s why i love college football.bulldog greg, rivals and scout differ in the way they report recruits, scout doesn’t count hebron because he had already signed a loi at uga, therefore they considered him a bulldog and not a commit.rivals,on the other hand considers him a new recruit.hebron was at uga,but had two underage drinking arrests.school policy is that he had to be suspended for two semesters and attend counseling.then he had to meet with the dean before he could be readmitted.hebron has been at ga military but will be back on campus in january.btw, this policy on underage drinking applies to all uga students and is administered by the school.the matter was out of the coach’s hands.

Hello again…

Don’t know if anyone has seen this, but it’s not getting much press on the Big Ten Netw… Uh, I mean, ESPN… And I think it deserves a little spotlight.

Anyone see the “open letter to fans” that Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany recently released?? It appears the Big Tenistas are at it again. He was apparently responding to an article suggesting the SEC had signed better and faster recruits than the Big Ten in February. I would try to give a quick summary, but I’m not sure my words would do justice. Better you hear it from the (literal) horse’s mouth. Here are some excerpts:

“I love speed and the SEC has great speed, especially on the defensive line, but there are appropriate balances when mixing academics and athletics…”

Okay… So, speed=stupid… No, please… Proceed…

“Each school, as well as each conference, simply must do what fits their mission regardless of what a recruiting service recommends… winning our [Big Ten’s] way requires some discipline and restraint with the recruitment process.”

Alright… So you’re saying that the Big Ten’s mission is to maintain a stellar 53% graduation rate like Ohio State (as opposed to LSU’s 51%)?? I’m having a little trouble following, sir…

“Not every athlete fits athletically, academically or socially at every university. Fortunately, we have been able to balance our athletic and academic mission so that we can compete successfully and keep faith with our academic standards.”

Eureka! So, if I’m reading this correctly:

Fast players = Recruits that are academically and socially unacceptable.

Hmmmm… Hmmmmmmmm…. Which “fast” SEC athletes are you referring to, Mr. Delaney??? I suppose the SEC’s majority of Public Universities should probably only offer academic opportunity to the brighter, surlier athletes. Or maybe you’re suggesting that “fast” players just aren’t socially acceptable at THE Big Ten University.

I’ve thought about it a lot, Commisioner Delaney, and I wish to respectfully disagree… Just because you look at a primarily “fast” football team and assume they do not perform well academically, doesn’t mean you’re evident ignorance and arrogance make it so. You, sir, are a racist a*****.

Someone needs to get over Ohio State’s dismal 0-8 record against the SEC in bowl games.

Anyway kids, Dan Wetzel responded to this bafoon’s ramblings much more eloquently than I could have. Here’s a link:

Dan Wetzel at Rivals.com

Still, congrats to Michigan for chomping the Gators. Even if your commissioner is a blowhard bigot.

Thanks for the confirmation on Hebron, shane and Bulldawg Greg. He was one of those freshmen who was really turning heads on the practice field before he got kicked out.

Georgia is a lot tougher on underage drinking than they used to be. When I was at Emory I knew a lot of guys who are now very successful doctors and lawyers and judges who did a lot worse than he did, got caught doing it, and nothing happened. As I recall it took them less than a month to catch me. Something about a beer keg in my dorm room one Tuesday night. And we were boy scouts compared with the guys at Georgia

I see a UGA team leading the nation for some time in rushing yards. One thing we do need to do is encourage this kid to play at Georgia,I dont think calling him names is a good way to get his help on the team. We have so many good players to look foward to seeing play next season,I cant wait!!

Several years ago, before the media hyped up recruiting, and the internet fueled the fantatic demand to know the latest news, this would simply be a case of a highschooler trying to figure out where to go to college.

How old were you when you drank that beer General?

I spent a fair amount of time at Everybody’s myself. Jagger, the owner, was a graduate student and the dorm counselor who discovered the keg in my room. I can’t remember if he took a drink from it or not. I’m sure I offered, but I don’t think he did. No hard feelings.

We tended to hang out at Moe’s and Joe’s more than anyplace. They had a bartender named Horace and several pool tables. There were always Emory professors there too, but nobody ever said anything. It was a real joint, one of the finest places on the planet. As Samuel Clements said, it is important not to let college stand in the way of a good education.

I think the increased discipline is more about public schools than private. My daughter graduated from Sewanee last year. The professors were the ones who hosted the keg parties there and nobody ever accused Sewanee of being lightweight in terms of academic rigor. The valedictory address focused on insights gained at Sewanee drinking Budweiser at some of those keg parties. He’s at Harvard Law School now.

There was some talk in the past about how Herschel Walker was quasi-literate and sounded awful during interviews. I listened to him during the Sugar Bowl pre-game show (talking with Moreno) and neither sounded like they had a problem with the English language.

For all the talk about the Sugar Bowl being a no-win game for UGA, UGA has come out of it as a big-time winner. Immediately after the Sugar Bowl, ESPN Sportscenter was talking about UGA, USC, and Oklahoma as the 3 hottest teams in the U.S. Oklahoma dropped out of the discussion after its loss. Last night, the color commentary on the GMAC Bowl was how UGA decisively shut down Hawaii, how UGA and USC were better (or at least hotter) teams than Ohio State and LSU, and how the SEC has flat-out dominated. I have to think that UGA dominating its (BCS) bowl game, and Clemson losing its bowl game (to an SEC team, and to a team that UGA crushed) surely factored in to A.J.’s decision to come to UGA. I think the psychology of everyone rooting for the Cinderella team followed by a systematic shutdown of Hawaii produced the result of deciding UGA was a great team (UGA has a great team but having people from all over the U.S. acknowledge it is not always easy).

I have to give A.J. lots of leeway on changing his mind. It was reported that UGA was holding a scholarship for him, and there is no doubt in my mind that UGA’s coaches were continuously recruiting him strongly.

I hope LSU destroys Ohio State (but I have no idea if that will happen). I think if it does happen that it, combined with Hawaii’s loss, will affect college rankings for the next several years. Every year it seems like sportscasters start out with “the SEC is one of the best conferences” to be followed after several weeks with “I overestimated the SEC; they’re no better than XXX and XXX conferences” only to end the season with “the SEC is clearly the fastest, strongest and best conference”. With luck, the announcer might apologize for underestimating the SEC earlier. If LSU wins I think it helps future SEC teams in rankings and I think schools with better records and weaker schedule don’t automatically get the higher rankings.

shane, those talking heads aren’t selling beer they are selling horse p**. They know about as much about beer as they do football.

What I want to know is why we can’t have good beer in this country. Everybody knows the European beers are much better than ours, but the thing that is so discouraging to me is everybodys’ beers are better than ours. That is a fact. The question is why.

My hunch is it has something to do with advertising dollars being spent on beer. When people get one taste of the good stuff the stuff we are making just won’t cut it.

The skills the television people developed insulating us from good beer are the same ones they are using now denying us a true National Champion.

All this is so depressing I need a drink. But I can’t even go to the beer store and get a good one. All the “imports” are watered down and nothing like what you get over there.

I do believe OSU has a good team, but not anywhere as good as three or maybe even four of the sec teams ive seen play this year. Uga, fla,Tenn or Lsu.

I think Kentucky could even beat them if they played hard enough, they beat Lsu as we already know. I mean come on, the illini beat OSU and Usc destroyed them easily.

Missouri is the team who really got the disrespect.Who really believes the fighting Illini was a better choice for the rose bowl? That is crazy!! Missouri is plainly much better than illin!! not to mention better than USC,Hawai and VT who absoloutly played nobody this year until they were spanked by Kansas!! They should have been in a bcs game and were cheated because nobody could take it if Osu,Usc and Ou all lost in the same year, they had to be sure one of the bcs favorites got an easy victory!! Now look , they make it as if Usc won the super bowl and beat the patriots! they did not beat anyone and sure as hell should not share number one with Lsu or Osu.

Uga could disbute a very strong argument if thats the case, UGA defeated ranked teams not nursing homes!!!!

Its not hard to get to the NC every year when you play a sissie shedule every year! I guess they do have a good chance, man it took a expert to figure that out huh? OSU would be in the same boat as MISS ST and vandy if they were ever in our confrence and thats the COLD HARD TRUTH!

The fox sports anouncers couldnt figure out last night why OSUs numbers were down so much in that game! COME ON!! If they are that stupid how in the hell did they ever get a job doing what they are doing? The numbers were down because they were playing “A REAL TEAM”!! THEY SUCK and something needs to be done with that phoney schedule to keep them from killing any more bowl games! If UGA is in the NC next year I am sure they will get a chance to massacre them as well! maybe they can get to 0-10 verses the SEC next year? Dont pay attention to the jealous remarks,If GA Tech was ranked number 2 they would have a parade in Atlanta. Get over it losers!

hey hey hey WE WILL GET ALL OF THE PLAYERS WE WANT. BECAUSE, WITH ALL THE TALENT WE HAVE, THESE PLAYERS; UNLESS THEY GET SOME EMPTY PROMISES, OR THE COACHING STAFF DROPS THE BALL BY NOT COMING TO VISIT SANDERS? WILL WANT TO PLAY FOR A WINNING PROGRAM.

I will agree to that Zeb. No more mean poems or bad words if this guy can back up all that crap he has built to his ears.

For one thing , this is a blog for Dog fans not for trouble makers.

We are very proud of our team and they did earn their spot in the polls,

We played a very hard schedule and we always do, its really obsurd to make childish remarks about a team as accomplished as Georgia.

We have a tradition of winning football here, this is not some one year fluke for us or for the rest of the SEC either.

Our confrence as always sports the Elite teams! sorry If you cannot deal with that dogs will choke but those are facts not fictional make believe.

Ya know Big Dawg, when u blog, you never know who’s on the other end. I don’t want to cuss a 12 year old who doesn’t know better, but thinks he can run with the big dogs. Most of us on here are over 17(I hope) and just want to talk GA football. I welcome every other fan of other teams, but dam, just understand you’re gonna get blasted if you DON’T COME WITH SOMETHING INTELLIGENT!!! I’m not a stat guy, and don’t profess to be, I leave that to my other brethren on here. I try to offer my logic on Georgia and general college football and that’s all. I love reading all of your post’s(even the idiot’s) and I’ll leave that with you guys. GO DAWGS!!!!

I was extremly surprised to know 58% of americans picked UGA to be #1 next year. Goes to show, LOU,LEE,and KIRK dont have a clue themselves. I thought Corso was gonna have a stroke last night when OSU lost. SEE, the whole plan was to get USC in a tie for first With OSU. If OSU would have won then the argument would have been USC beat ILLInois and ILLinois beat Osu!!Like we dont know that it all was a scheme to get those two overrated teams both a championship! Im sure Lee Corso would have experienced multiple orgasms if that would have happened!

Guess what Lee, PLANS spoiled again

All right Big, I’m gonna have to get to bed to get ready to go to my Fortune 500 company in the morning, kinda like “Dogs will Choke”. I hope his mom doesn’t burn his poptarts and he doesn’t miss the bus. Hey DWC, please tell me how 2nd period social science goes, and where I can send my 14 year old redneck son to kick the sh!t out of your a$$? Actually, he’s on the honor roll, likes to hunt and calls himself a redneck even though he lives in a half million dollar house with my lovely ex wife. Dam….ain’t life fun.

Dublin Dawg:

I admit that I was going out on a limb projectng a fullback as a top 15 pick in the NFL Draft. We will just have to see how that pans out.

I don’t really know enough about NFL team needs in 09 or what other college players are coming out that year, so I probably shouldn’t have gotten that specific. I believe that Southerland will go higher in the draft by staying at UGA and having another good year. He should get more publicity if UGA has a great season especially if UGA is one of the top 3 Pre-Season picks.

He is a devastating blocker and I haven’t seen too many better looking fullbacks coming out of college, but your probably right… 15 is a reach.

Congratulations to the dawgs and tigers 1 and 2 in the AP.

About this playoff system. Every year there is one team that feels like they got cheated out of the possibility to play for a National Championship. This year it was UGA in 2004 when we went undefeated we were calling for a playoff system because we felt that we got hosed. I hope they can come up with something.

I found the Rivals.com preseason poll for next season, not that it really means anything.

Rivals.com 2008 Preseason Top 25: 1. USC (11-2) 2. Georgia (11-2) 3. Ohio State (11-2) 4. Oklahoma (11-3) 5. Missouri (12-2) 6. Florida (9-4) 7. West Virginia (11-2) 8. LSU (12-2) 9. Auburn (9-4) 10. Clemson (9-4) 11. Kansas (12-1) 12. BYU (11-2) 13. Virginia Tech (11-3) 14. Texas (10-3) 5. Wisconsin (9-4) 16. Illinois (9-4) 17. Texas Tech (9-4) 18. Oregon (9-4) 19. Arizona State (10-3) 20. Penn State (9-4) 21. Tennessee (10-4) 22. South Florida (9-4) 23. Michigan (9-4) 24. South Carolina (6-6) 25. Wake Forest (9-4)

shane#1, I drank several beers at Manuel`s. Lewis Grizzard was a pal, he truly loved UGA. I remember Lewis never wore socks and always kept many patrons laughing. He cherished “Catfish, his dog” and had a unreal sense of humor. The week after Auburn beat UGA and Pat Sullivan had a banner day in Athens, Lewis remark was “feel like suicide” . He did have respect for Auburn, which all my Manuel War Eagles appreciated.

News:

1/09/08: Buford, GA DT Omar Hunter, who was committed to Notre Dame for several months before de-committing last week, is rumored to be considering the Dawgs along with Florida and Auburn. UGA hasn’t been actively recruiting him lately though…

I hope we can land Big Omar to this class. We need another big DT for the upcoming years. I hope Garner is working on him and some of our blue chippers to chip in…

Georgia Tech hasn’t beat UGA in Athens in over 30 years now consecutively. It hasn’t again. Georgia Tech now doesn’t have a Winning Record Even in Men’s Basketball, and now Georgia Tech plays nothing but Conference Games the entire rest of the season except for 1 game at the end against unranked Connecticut. Good Luck.

Georgia has twice as many wins as losses at 8-4, unlike Tech who does not even have a winning record this season. And, Georgia Tech is 0-1 in conference as well.

We read all this junk about how great Georgia Tech is in Men’s Basketball and then what ?

I don’t see it.

Did I mention that Georgia Tech is zero (0) wins and two (2) losses against The SEC in Men’s Basketball ?

Another season yet again where Georgia Tech fans come in here and brag about their conference, because Georgia Tech CANNOT BEAT Georgia in Men’s Basketball.

Georgia Tech’s Coach has a Losing Record to Georgia in Men’s Basketball, while Georgia’s Coach has a Winning Record against Georgia Tech in Men’s Basketball.

Oh, yeah…your conference is so much better than The SEC.

By ............................................BuLLdawg

January 10, 2008 12:15 AM | Link to this

The ACC has NOT won more Men’s Basketball NCAA Tournament National Championships than The SEC has.

In fact, the ACC does NOT have more NCAA Tournament National Championships in Men’s Basketball than does The SEC, the Big 10 nor the Pac-10. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it. But, the ACC is so much better than everyone else in Men’s Basketball.

And, yet we hear this mantra after we beat Georgia Tech’s fannies in Men’s Basketball AGAIN that your conference is so much better than The SEC in Men’s Basketball.

That’s not the way the football season just ended.

The Stinking ACC went 2-6 in Bowl Games 2007-2008 in Football for the dead last worst record of all conferences in college football. The SEC went 7-2 for the Most Bowl Wins by any conference yet again this year as we always do.

The object of each football team is to get into the best bowl game and win it. The SEC Won 7, while the ACC LOST 6.

Congratulations Gnats, you Nerds.

In BCS Bowl Games, The SEC Won BOTH of ours while the ACC won zero (0).

LSU and Georgia are No. 1 and No. 2 in the nation in college football today in the Final AP Poll.

This marks the 11th consecutive year that Georgia has ended in the Final AP Poll.

Georgia Tech fans, after you beat Notre Dame, came running in here telling us all that Georgia Tech is great in football. And, the AJ-C chimed in with Front Page Headlines that Georgia Tech is RANKED AHEAD of Georgia IN FOOTBALL.

Now, you have fired your football coach who beat the Climpson farmers and replace him with a coach whose best win was over Air Force an unranked nobody football team who is ranked No. 50 in the nation.

You nerds are so smart.

You have 6 Losses in Football Georgia Tech. Oh, yeah…wait for it now…one of those 6 Losses is to hmmm…was it Georgia ?

For the 7th Consecutive Year in a Row, Georgia beat Georgia Tech in Football.

Did I mention your out-going coach NEVER beat Coach Richt ?

Did I mention that Coach Richt has NEVER LOST a football game against the ACC ever starting now this year his 8th season as our Head Football Coach ?

5 of the Top 15 teams in the Final AP Poll 2007-2008 are SEC teams. 3 of the Top 21 teams in the Final AP Poll 2007-2008 are ACC.

5 Ranked SEC Football Teams AP Poll to only 3 ACC this season.

And, The SEC was undefeated in bowl games against the ACC this year. The SEC handed the Climpson farmers of the ACC their 4th Loss. And, Georgia got three (3) 1st Place Votes in the Final AP Poll.

So, with this WIN over Georgia Tech in Men’s Basketball yet again tonight :

Paul Hewitt vs. Georgia 3-5. This is because December 6, 2000 UGA beat Paul Hewitt AT Georgia Tech, while Georgia Tech has NOT BEAT Georgia AT Georgia in 32 consecutive years and counting.

Dennis Felton vs. Georgia Tech 3-2.

MaChelle Joseph vs. Georgia 1-3.

Andy Landers vs. Georgia Tech 27-2.

Soon, you know – like today – Georgia Tech’s nerdy Gnats can start bragging about baseball to try to take their minds off football and men’s basketball.

And, Tech will tell us how much better they and then the ACC are than The SEC and UGA after we beat their butts in that sport again too. Did you know that the Record for Georgia Tech in Baseball against Georgia is 146-192-2 giving Georgia Tech a .43 percent Winning Percentage against UGA in Baseball. I can’t wait for the nerds to get off onto that kick next.

For Football and Men’s Basketball are H-I-S-T-O-R-Y.

Did I mention that MaChelle Joseph after losing to Georgia’s Andy Landers stomped past him REFUSING TO SHAKE HIS HAND outstretched?

Hey War Eagle, Coach Richt has a WINNING RECORD vs. Auburn and has WON 4 of the last 6.

Georgia has been ranked AHEAD of Auburn 5 of the 7 Years of The Coach Richt Era in the Final AP Polls.

Lewis Grizzard did have respect for Auburn, which all my Manuel War Eagles appreciated. ” quote last night by War Eagle

Yeah, I have a lot of respect for teams Coach Richt does BETTER THAN too. I can afford to be that generous in The Coach Richt - these are The Good Ole Days - Era.

Nice year there War Eagle No. 15 in the Final AP Poll, while Coach Richt led The Georgia Bulldogs to The No. 2 Final AP Poll Ranking with Three (3) 1st Place No. 1 National Champion Votes giving Coach Richt now a 72-19 Record while Auburn has been 66-23 since Coach Richt took this gig 7 years ago.

What total domination of your program by My Program since the very day Coach Richt began.

And, continuing.

Did you recruit yourself a Quarterback over there on the flats yet to be Tommy Tuberville’s 1st Quarterback of note yet ?

I know a good nickname for AJ, if he can stay happy until signing date…”YO YO”?? ” quote by War Eagle to start this thread.

Who are the YO YO team’s recruited players War Eagle ? No. 15 Auburn with NO Quarterback for Tubs EVER or No. 2 UGA with Richt’s Recruits at QB blowing out Tubs’ ?

You know what is sad? That OSU and OU can get embarassed in their bowl games (again) and they are still ranked in the top 5. Am I to believe that if UGA had even lost to Hawaii by so much as a field goal that we would even be in the top 10? Maybe one day dawg fans we wil have our a*******es kissed like USC, OSU, an OU of the world!

SamoanDawg, auburn football is very healthy and will compete next year in the West and hopefully SEC. auburnsux is right about Omar Hunter, CWM departure hurt,, according to my a Buford friend, Florida..maybe change his mine.auburn sux might have read about Auburn football, but their is NO ill feelings about chop blacks. Most teams have their chop blocks which are unintentionally as Auburn, but TV camera”got it”, it was a bad scene..

BullDawg auburn has a couple of QBs one is DeRon Furr Jr, he can run and throw, he lead his team to the state championship and won. with less than 3 min. in the game he drove his team down the field and scored a TD on a 24 yard run, the kid is good , but no Stafford or TeTeboy…It’s Great to be a GEORGIA BULLDOG… Can’t wait til next year, hope we can come out and finish strong. GO DAWGS>>> Good luck to auburn and Tenn both teams will have new coaching staffs ….that is hard to deal with in the SEC…
