UGA blog finds new home

Morning all. As I’ve said a couple of times this week, we’re converting this blog over to a WordPress platform and it will be a permanent move the first of next week.

Those of you who are regulars probably know that I’m not what you’d call techno-wizard when it comes to these things. But from what I understand the technology offered in this new format should make the blogging and commenting experience better for all. Of course, I’ll be learning as we go along, too. But I’m hoping to provide more pictures and video and things like that which should bring the blog more to life.

Of course, this blog is nothing without all you guys so I want to heartily invite (read: beg) you to come over to the new site by CLICKING HERE ON THE NEW ADDRESS and save it in your browsers. As of Monday, Feb. 23rd, this will be the permanent home of the UGA blog you so love or, in the case of some of you, love to loathe. If you’d prefer to copy and paste or just memorize, the new address is: http://blogs.ajc.com/uga-sports-blog/.

See at the new place!

They whipped them

Well there you have it. The black-clad Bulldogs just beat Auburn. Check that, they whipped the Tigers’ butts. Not the whole game, mind you, but when it mattered most. I definitely thought Georgia could win this game but I never dreamed of a final score such as 45-20.

Was it the “Blackout” that did it? Doubtful. As we had into the homestretch of the season, the Dogs are doing it with offense. Saturday represented their third consecutive game in which they scored 40 or more points. To put that into perspective, that hasn’t happened since 1942.

Oh, yeah, and it’s the first time since 1982 Georgia has beaten Florida and Auburn in the same season.

And, it should be pointed out, this came against an Auburn team whose defense came into the game ranked No. 5 in the nation in scoring defense (14.5 ppg). Knowshon Moreno went over 100 yards again — 22 for 101 at last count. That makes him the first Georgia back since Verron Haynes in 2001 to go over the century mark in four straight games.

So what do you think? Are they ready for Kentucky? Is the SEC Championship possible? Are the Bulldogs’ BCS bound?

We’ll see soon enough.

Chip——I normally enjoy your blog topics as fun and interesting, and often insightful, but this obsessive speculation over the Dawgs’ jersey colors for today’s AU-UGA game has reached the point of inane silliness. Even Notre Dame fans don’t go off the deep end about their team’s occasional green jerseys.

Next topic, please … and one that may actually draw on your sport journalism knowledge and skills would be preferred. How about a little insight into today’s match-ups and the implications for the SEC East contenders??

It wouldn’t be the prettiest thing…but I’d just as soon see them wear black PANTS as well if they DO go with the black jerseys. That might psych the Tigers a bit.

Otherwise…the black jerseys would blend in too well with the silver britches…reminds me too much of the Falcons switch-back to black in 1990 and we know their poor tradition. Hmmm…Knowshown is from “New Jersey.” ;)

As far as the game goes…the Tigers tend to play better first halves it seems…at least they did against UF and LSU. Dawgs can’t have their first-half tightness today…if they can keep the score close, within a TD, in the first half…then I like their chances in the 2nd half.

I love winning the SEC as much as anyone else but it might be just as easy or even easier just to win out, finish in the top 5 or 6 and take a Sugar Bowl berth vs. Hawaii. we all know that LSU will dominate the vols. i would rather beat the tigers and still go to the sugar bowl just to earn SEC champs though. either way, to say that we dont control our destiny isnt totally true. if we win out, good things are going to happen no matter what tennessee does.

CBS pre-game show just showed Moreno and it looked like he had a black longsleeve shirt under his red jersey. I don’t really care all that much about what color jersey the players wear as long as they show up to play.

Tennessee is really dominating Arkansas, they have completely shut down the run, reminds me of what they did to us. I hope Bobo has a very balanced plan for today’s game. I don’t want to see the run up the middle only to get stuffed call over and over again.

Those against the blackout- lighten up and have some fun. Sure, I take Georgia football as serious as anybody, but love the fact that these kids are having fun and getting the fans involved. I can assure you that they will appreciate the fan support for the blackout and it may actually motivate them. (this doesn’t mean that they will win- you still have to play the game) Bottom line- have fun and Chip will give you “game journalism” later this afternoon or tomorrow.

Mike in Montgomery——Not so much, big dog. I’m a big enough boy to let you Dawg fans enjoy the ‘07 win and the post-Paryy party. No excuses here, just wondering what the bizarre 3-day obsession over jersey colors is all about, and disappointed that the blog master can’t find a more interesting angle for the game which is likely to determine the outcome of the SEC East race. That’s all. Now we return you to the regularly scheduled talk show about jersey colors.

By Will

November 10, 2007 3:16 PM | Link to this

Two things on the black jerseys - I don’t want our players trotting out on the field thinking to themselves, “Man, look how cool we look in these black jerseys.” I want them focused on the game. Second, I’m concerned about our sophomore QB making such a quick mental adjustment regarding what color jersey he’s throwing the ball toward - the unfamiliar black, or the much more familiar white that Auburn will be wearing.

Other than that - it’s a non-issue. If we wear black, and lose with Stafford throwing 3 or 4 picks then I’m going to 2nd guess the decision forever.

The Black is good by me… but is there a little known codicil in the UGA Constitution that says we HAVE to take a 15-yard penalty on every big play we make?

Who knows if the unsportsmanlike call on the intercept cost us a TD, but I’m really tired of giving up 15 yards every time we score or take the ball away. Emotion is great, but control counts too.

HALFTIME UPDATE

There it is, Georgia’s first half as a black-clad football team. Whether jerseys have anything to do with it I doubt it but the Bulldogs lead 17-10. Seemed like Auburn had all the momentun there at the end though. We’ll see if the Tigers can hang onto it as Georgia gets the ball to start the second half.

Most of is here in the press box think the officials got the majority of those first-half calls right. As luck would have it, none of them seemed to go Georgia’s way. The only one I wasn’t convinced on was Brad Lester’s fumble. I thought his helmet hitting the ground caused the fumble, not the ball hitting the ground in his arms.

One things for sure: Mark Richt certainly wasn’t happy with the calls. He spent at least a minute jawing with the men in stripes before adjourning to the locker room.

Must be those villainous black jerseys!

What is the deal with the refs? I’m usually not much of a ref-bashing guy, but this is ridiculous. the punter goes down and the ref threatens to call a personal foul. This officiating crew needs to be fined or something-they are making some chicken s** calls.

By Eric C.

November 10, 2007 5:25 PM | Link to this

Ok…the offense needs to make some adjustments after those past couple of series…and it would help to get a running game. That last screen pass was almost 6 for AU.

Need more Moreno and need the defense to step up and make a few stops. I love Brown to death but they need Moreno’s fire to sustain some drives. Defense…time to man up.

I think they should get their revenge on Kentucky next week and with a little help from the balance in the conference, Tennessee could easily lose again. LSU is not invincible. What a turnaround. Chip, the Dawgs also wore black pants for the Florida game in 1998. Don’t know if that’s been mentioned here yet or not. 38-7 spanking in that contest.

I definitely prefer the black jerseys to the pants. Much cooler. And the silver britches are much more important to tradition than the jersey color.

Way to go Dawgs on a fantastic victory! However, I have serious issues with the officiating crew. These guys were on Auburn payroll. THAT WAS PAINFULLY OBVIOUS! Two Tiger touchdowns directly generated by phantom flags on Dawgs. Auburn qb ducks into onrushing lineman. PERSONAL FOUL? Auburn qb grounds the ball as he is knocked to turf. PERSONAL FOUL? Excited Dawg makes arm motions after tackle. UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT? Where were flags when Tiger players were flailing arms like windmills? Zebras looking other way? Counting payoff funds? UGA still overcame odds. STILL P++++S ME OFF! These biased officials should be fired immediately. Disgrace to even NBA!

Arkansas losing may actually HELP Georgia!! As crazy as it sounds, Georgia could be Rose Bowl bound, If LSU plays Oregon in the National Title game there will be a PAC 10 vacancy and UGA would automatically (assuming they win out) be the number 1 one loss team. Thus by default they would be chosen and not even risk having to WIN the SEC title to get a BCS berth.

By SATXDawg

November 10, 2007 8:25 PM | Link to this

Hey Auburn fans!!! Are you stunned? You shouldn’t be. Let me break it down for you.

1.) This was Auburn’s 11th consecutive game and it showed. I don’t think I heard or read anyone say anything about that all week. They looked physically and psychologically fatigued. Particularly, in the 2nd half. It reminded me of the way UGA looked against Au. in the 04 game.

2.) We got Muschamp’s card. Will Muschamp is an excellent DC no question about it, and I wouldn’t mind a bit if he came to UGA. However, his defenses have struggled against UGA in the past. In 2003, UGA racked up a lot of yards against LSU in Baton Rouge but left at least 30 pts. on the field in the 1st half. Billy Bennet missed 3 or 4 field goals in that game. WM did shut UGA down later that year in Atl. However, the next year in Athens we hung 48 on LSU (no defensive or special teams tds). Combine that with the points surrendered last year and today and that’s 123 pts. (41/game) WM has allowed against UGA. (that doesn’t include Tra Battle’s int return for a TD).

3.) Brandon Cox should change his middle name to Sucks. It fits rather well between his sur- and last name.

By Bill is a racist!

Im so sick and tired of hearing all these self righteous idiots calling us TUGA and saying that Richt is turning this into the new Miami/Thug U. We got complaints about coming out flat and playing with no emotion against UT and SC and CMR heard and agreed with the complaints. He goes out there and gets these kids fired up and focused and now he’s a thug? Get real. These are KIDS that feed off of emotion. We are trying to make a statement that we no longer go quietly into the night and constantly be overlooked because we are the nice guys. I agree that we need to find the middle ground and get the emotion under control a bit but Im all for it. And for the record it was the exact same crew from FLA and they were still trying to make a statement for the celebration just like they tried to do during that game. Get off you high horses and see things as they are. Don’t complain about something and the complain again when the problem is fixed. GO DAWGS!!!

Definitely thought the refs were upset with UGA for the Florida thing and trying to keep UGA and the game under control. Hence two qustionable personal fouls on Reshad and Kelin. Perhaps can’t blame them for wanting to keep control of the game, but maybe the were overzealous cuz they were looking for that.

By Ed

November 10, 2007 8:47 PM | Link to this

Bill, if you think the blackout was offensive (and my guess is you are just pulling our leg), you should see it when Gator students paint their upper bodies orange, wear blue Afro-like wigs, and jean shorts. It’s the stuff of nightmares, and offensive to all races, religions and creeds outside of Gainesville Florida.

I don’t care what anyone says about LSU, right now Georgia is the best team in the SEC. To beat Auburn by 25 after surviving brutal officiating like that speaks volumes. I actually thought that the fix might be in on some of those calls. My favorite was when Reshad Jones was flagged for a late hit after barely bumping Cox, and after he was catapulted up and into the qb by a blocker. Or maybe it was the defensive holding call after the ball sailed 9 yards past the receiver. Or maybe the unsportsmanlike penalty after Kelin Johnson did a windmill motion after a big defensive stop. No, it was definitely the late hit on Johnson after he arrived at the quarterback a fraction of a second after he flipped the ball away. The Dawgs just regrouped and outscored AU 28-0 down the stretch. Truly an amazing performance against a tough SEC opponent.

Bill, in case you didn’t notice, it wasn’t just blackface. The basic ensemble was black (like Georgia’s jerseys). There were streaks of white on each cheek to make it clear that it should more properly be termed “blackandwhiteface”. I also don’t know too many black folks that have red hair. Could they have been mimicing Georgia’s helmets? No, wait! Maybe they were trying to humiliate the clown nation?

That is the most talented UGA offense I have ever seen, and the defense did a terrific job in the 2nd half. I hope CMR spends his entire career at UGA. I think he’s the best NCAA coach and he continue’s to improve. Above that, he’s a great person. Mike Bobo calls great plays and UGA’s redzone offense is the best in the SEC. Stacy Searles deserves a lot of credit too. That young O-line has improved infinitely since the USC game (can’t believe we lost to them).

Our defense still needs some work but they are young. If they can improve significantly by the 08 opener, we will have the SEC by the you know what next year. It’s great to be a Georgia Bulldog.

This team knows how talented it is now.Next year’s offense will be the best we’ve seen in Athens…maybe ever.A quick inventory QB-Stafford and a talented veteran Joe Cox as backup……FB-Southerland could be the best in college football…..RBs Moreno and King I wouldn’t trade with anybody…..WRs MoMass,AJ Green,Goodman,Wilson,Hill, Durham….TEs Chandler,Figgins,Ward and White as a hybrid TE/WR.Add a talented, deep, well coached O-line and we’re looking at a defensive coordinator’s nightmare.Oh yea, the defense will be very talented as well…GO YOU BIG’OLE HAIRY DAWGS.

War Eagle and Brother, thanks for the congrats and keeping the faith in your team and the spirit of Shug Jordan. You were the same ones who said similar things after Georgia won last year on the Plains. Most Auburn fans, like Georgia’s, appreciate fair play and good sense and demonstrate and articulate that Southern intangible which most of us define as “class.” I am appalled at the negativity and viciousness of some of these moronic Bulldog posts. No class. No class. Winning is the wine of the gods, but it really does take a special individual to win with “class,” with a loittle himility…Remember what goes around can always come back around and with Dawgs-Tigers it generally does. Look at the record. Have some fun, enjoy an adult beverage or two if so inclined, but a grip for heaven’s sake. It’s just a game (But oh WHAT a game…)

OK I admit it! I’ve been critical of WM on these blogs before. However I think he had a good plan today and his D came ready to play. Good job Martinez! Now let’s keep it up from here on out. This was a great effort against a very good team … the type of effort I wish they had given against SC and Tennessee. Great run by Brown but I hope Bobo will give Moreno at least 25-30 carries in each of our remaining games. He’s put this team on his back and I’d personally like for him to break at least 1500 yards. He deserves the opportunity for that achievement and all the recognition that he would get if he does it. I thought the officiating in this game was just plain awful. Where were they from? Auburn? I loved the black jerseys and think Coach Richt has learned that level-headedness is great for calling plays but that he needs to motivate and inspire his team as well. This and the Florida game will endear him even more to the players and make that task easier in the future. It’ll also make our recruiting efforts even better. What kid watching that game wouldn’t want to play for Richt? Good job coach! Contratulations to the team and the Georgia fans at the stadium for pulling off the “black out” and then making it meaningful by pounding Auburn. I would love to see them in black jerseys and black pants at some point in the future. But for now let’s finish the drill by pounding the wildcats and bees and then hopefully play in either the SEC championship or a very good bowl. I’d be extremely happy with either option.

It has been a long time since we beat Auburn and Florida in the same year. This team has grown up especially when you consider they were winning 17-3 and then gave up those 17 unanswered points and were having to beat Auburn and the officials, you could see them turn it up a notch and they took control of the game again. Reminded me of those teams from 80 to 83 it does bode well for the rest of this year. We even looked great on defense, Jeremy Lomax, Geno Atkins, Jeff Owens, Rennie Curran and Kelin Johnson had great games. And Brandon Southerlan is a man among boys he not only delivers some licks but he can take them as well.

Great win Dawgs, now lets get ready for Kentucky.

I was at home clapping for one of UGA’s excellent plays during the game and a ref threw a flag on me and gave Auburn 15 yards and an automatic first down. Last year 35 points; this year 45 — must mean next year we get 55 points.

Well Auburn, go beat Texas in the Cotton Bowl.

Congratulations to UGA for beating Auburn and the refs. UGA wins by 40 if not for the refs. It was obvious from the beginning of the game that the officials were trying to send UGA a message because of their celebrations during the Fla game. The officiating for SEC games this year has been horrible. I have never seen such bad officiating. They even made one bad call on Auburn. Watch any SEC game this year and you will see horrible officiating. That has not always been the case.

I agree about not complaining too much about penalties, because they are part of the game and they tend to even out in the long run. But for awhile there, it got surreal. Scott Howard could barely contain himself talking about the calls. Some of the penalties were extra touchy to put it mildly, making me wonder if the officials had an axe to grind after the UF game. When you hold your breath after every big play waiting for the inevitable flag, something’s not right. What might the score have been if the officials had held on to a few of those flags? Auburn wouldn’t have scored more than 10 or 13. We outgained them by something like 200 yards as it was. 45-20…this was truly a butt kicking.

SEC refs need to let it go. They were obviously trying to punish UGA for their celebrations during the Fla game. They were calling UGA for looking cross-eyed at anyone from Auburn. This officiating crew needs to be canned. During the replay of the Auburn fumble that was overturned you could see an Auburn player actually tackling one of the UGA defenders however, no one called a holding penalty. The announcers even commented about the poor officiating. I hope the SEC starts addressing this issue

Don’t want to take anything away from Moreno, but I think Sean Bailey deserved MVP of this one. It is hard to pick, though. Stafford was awesome. Great to see a balanced attack again. UGA needed it to beat AU and the refs. Was that the same crew that did the Florida game? Those guys suck!!!!

Call the game fairly regardless of the color uniform. When the zebra told the Dawg punter to get up then threatened him with unsportsmanlike penalty I was hoping someone would slug him! The zebra’s called six excessive celebration penalties in the parking lots before the game. I watched the game with my Uncle. After every big Georgia play I would say, and now for the flag. I was right at least 50% of the time. Sure it sounds like we are the worst of sports, the poor winner, but the officiatting was just Godawful. For their credit, I did see one bad penalty against Auburn, but for the life of me I cannot rememeber what it was.

Great game by the team, the band looked awesome in all black and of course the fans. The fans showed the team that they were behind them completely. The overhead shots of the stadium looked erie, like someone had turned out the lights or that no one except a few thousand in orange showed up. And when the lights went on, it looked even more surreal. I have seen the blackout multi times now on ESPN and it just looks awesome. Thanks to the Bulldawg Nation.

I work and currently live in Hong Kong, great place by the way and it gives me a perspective that is different when I lived in the US since you are in the middle of the battle so to speak and let too much emotion influence snap shot comments, simply follow the blogs during the course of the game. I would have a lot more respect for Tiger Bird if he had come back to congratulate the Dawgs. I grew up around Columbus Ga and had to endure all those Auburn folks even on our side of the state line every year we lost and they could be brutal at times but some were also great people that I did and do respect. I never made excuses when they won. It is called class and it doesn’t cost a dime. Losing makes people say some pretty dumb things, again I reference the Blog. This is one of the most satisfying wins or games with Auburn I have seen in a long, long time and I have seen a lot of them. Yes, we have TVs in HK.

If it wasn’t for the refs that were still bitter about the Florida game and the first quarter celebration stunt, the score would have been 45-3. Aubby, you got whipped and the 20 points you got were a gift. Those 15 yard penalties were an embarrassment and clearly a product of the Florida game where the Dawgs made the Zebras lives a little more difficult that day for keeping the peace. Curran is a stud, Moreno is the future, and Tuberville’s going to A&M just to throw it in all the bandwagon, redneck Auburn fans’ faces.

Some quick thoughts:

I absolutely love Richt’s new show of emotion - never thought it would happen. It’s a beautiful thing to see.

Watching the players show so much excitement and unity - celebrating with teammates, dancing on the sidelines, etc. - was one of the coolest things I’ve experienced as a Dawg fan in 20 years. I think we are witnessing a great transformation.

I hate to mention a negative note, but it needs to be said. If this this game had stayed tight we would have lost because of the refs. I hope that is dealt with swiftly and seriously.

BTW, I saw an Auburn game earlier this year where many of the Auburn players were celebrating…wait…the Auburn kicker gator chomping and running around the field after they won? Then stomping around the field with the rest of the team rubbing in the win against Florida. I did NOT see any rubbing in this win on Auburn.

Richt has our players FINALLY playing with some emotion and the rest of the rival teams can’t handle it.

FYI…the song is “Soulja Boy”…all the football teams (including Auburn) dance to it during, before, and after the games (was at an Auburn game where they danced to it in warmups before the game this year). Drop the “Thuga” argument…you have NO facts to back that up.

Me thinks they need a little cheese with that whine.

Take your beating like a man, quit being poor loosers and stop complaining. Shhheeeeeeesh!!!!

My Dawgs looked great out there. I do have a problem with some of the penalties that were called against UGA. Hopefully, that will be dealt with by the SEC this week. As far as one or two people trying to call the blackout racial… GET A LIFE!!! I’m African-American. Everything is not racial. It was black paint over the entire body. Nothing more, nothing less.

NOTE TO AJC: If this paper decides to stoop to the gutter and create a story out of the body paint, then I will do my best to create an anti-AJC movement. There are bigger issues in the world than drumming up a story that doesn’t exist. Spend that article space on ideas to save Grady Hospital. Let this ridiculous notion of race die in this blog.

My God what is with the officiating?

Auburn gets 14 points on two drives that were sustained by two unbelievable personal fouls on thrid down. Honestly, it looked like the fix was in.

40+ points the last three games and Auburn’s “D” was ranked number 5 in points allowed.

You got the penalites because your coach has your team out of control and acting like they have no class. They need to be kept on a short leash before there is a brawl. Richt is a prodcut of Miami and FSU. It is starting to show.

However, I thought they looked really good. If you look good you play good and they wound up playing good. Maybe we should pull the black jerseys back out for the UT game next year. Go Vandy!!! About three weeks ago, I told everyone on here that UGA would beat florida, and never look back this season. This Georgia team is very young but very talented, and peaking at the end of the season. I know we still have to play a talented Kentucky team that is no push over and tech team with a solid defense, but I like our chances. oh yeah two more words for you Rennie curan, this guy looks special, where has he been all season, he looks like a man among boys at 18 years old in the toughest conference in america. He’s fast strong and knows how to tackle. The only thing i see that we need to work on a bit is, stupid over excessive celebration penalties, and tackling just a bit besides that we are blocking and executing the best ive seen in awhile. I wouldnt want to play the dawgs right now. Cant wait til next year. Go dawgs! Wear silver cleats next week I dont care just keep on keeping on!

I am a Tech Fan but I am afraid Georgia will score more than 40 on us and we might get 14. I cant believe fans wanted Cox to play and Richt fired. Georgia will probably beat Tech the next 2 years. As I have said all along Stafford has one of the best arms in the nation. Because Georgia players are young, talented and gaining experience and the other teams in the SEC like LSU will graduate many of their studs, Georgia has a legit chance at an SEC and National title the next 2 years with Stafford at the helm. Moreno is good but Stafford will shine now. He has the arm NFL teams salivate over. Many of the Ga fans dont understand the best SEC teams have the most upperclassman while the other teams are rebuilding. I just never understood how GA fans could not see the potential talent that is now coming to fruition. Meanwhile at the flats we can recruit 22 starters but once we go to the bench it drops off dramatically. Mark my word Stafford is better than Greene or Shockley. But the fickle Ga fans would rather get excited over a jitterbug running back.Thomas Brown is just as good as Moreno but faster. He will play on Sundays also.

I didn’t feel good about this game going into it. My concerns about the offensive line looking good against weak FL and Troy defenses has been smashed by an outstanding effort by our young line.

Chase, War Eagle made a reasonable prediction (maybe a little more with his heart than with his head). He called for 20-16 Auburn. He has already come on here and congratulated UGA on the win. He is one of the few opponents all season to do that!

ironically 20-16 was the reverse score of the Hose ‘Em game at Auburn in 86 when Auburn officials turned the water cannons on the crowd and THE BAND! I was there on that chilly November evening. I will never forgive Auburn for that one.

Awesome win last night in Athens. Stadium looked incredible. I am not for gimmicks, but agree with earlier blogger who said it really looked good. However, this needs to be used judiciously. Our home unis are among the best in all College Football.

As a sidenote, wouldn’t it be a blast if Illinois and the Zooker in the Outback or Capital One Bowl? I have never, ever pulled for a Big Ten team against an SEC team but if Zook gets to face the Gators, I might have a change of heart. Zook was never given a chance at Florida.

If we make the Sugar Bowl, I hope we are not playing Hawaii. I sure hope Boisie State can beat those guys as I would rather play them than Hawaii.

Right now, we had better buckle the chin strap for the Wildcats. They are good and we cannot afford a big letdown.

Lisa and Marc:

I know that UGA has won more games than any team in the South (outside of LSU) over the last 7 years since Richt arrived at UGA, so I understnd that you need to vent your frustration and find a “cause”.

UGA players are not thugs. They dance together ON THE SIDELINE and show love and support of one another celebrating life.

UGA is the only program that suspended a starting player for consuming a beer (he was 21 years old) for 2 games. georgia tech played Houston despite his felony drug trafficking of 70 lbs of Marijauna!!! That weighs more than both my kids combined!!! That is a thug program.

Florida does not suspend a guy who is arrested for felony burglary, that is a thug program.

Penn State does not suspend 5 players involved in felony assault charges. That is a thug program.

UGA suspends a player who is 21 for drinking a beer outside his apartment. See the difference?

fans wearing black, players dancing, and one end zone celebration do not make anyone in UGA’s program a thug.

Don’t know if anyone heard, but they did say on the post-game show with Kevin Butler that it was the same officiating crew as the FL game. They were just tyring to get revenge for the touchdown celebration. Just a few stupid calls: The head to head personal foul on Cox is not a dead ball foul? The stupid thread to Mimbs that he would call unsportsmanlike penalty on him if he intentionally falls again? what’s up with that? i have been watching football for 20 years and punters “act” all of the time. I think they probably spend an hour at practice everyday practicing falling. Calling personal foul against Johnson for celebrating after a 3rd down sack. Yes, he was celebrating, but he was celebrating with the crowd, wasn’t even close to an auburn player. those are just a few. I’m SURE i missed some big one’s.

I’m sure Tommy T will definitely be heading to College Station. He may not have a choice after BAMA beats them.

Lisa:

Earlier this season, there were many on this blog who were concerned that CMR was incapable of instilling excitement and emotion into his players before big games, particularly because his demeanor is so calm and reserved. There were those who said, “UGA will never be a national contender because Richt is too conservative and can’t get his players motivated enough to compete at the next level.

But in the past few weeks he has loosened up - and the change has been remarkable. For a team that I thought would be lucky to win 6 games (after losses to USC-lite and UT), the Dogs have made a believer out of me once again.

Look on the sidelines. The players are having fun. CMR has a big smile on his face. Apparently, the relaxed environment has had a much-needed positive effect.

Now there are those such as yourself that are now saying that CMR has simply turned his program into a group of dirty-playing thugs like FSU and Miami.

So where does your allegiance lie? You make your presence known as neither a fan of UGA nor any other SEC team, yet you persist in this blog. I suppose you’re just another jealous Tech fan.

I would like to see UGA in a BCS bowl (Fiesta or Rose) game against Okla.,Ohio St, West Va (love to see the rematch), or whom ever else qualify for the at-large bids. What if the dawgs do make it to the SEC championship and lose, here comes the Cotton or Citrus (b@!!$$*t) bowls. I want them dawgs on the big stage. The last few years all u hear is USC (not gamecocks), Ohio St, Okla, LSU, Gators, and Texas. I want them dawgs to be mention in that same class of powers. What were we watching ? A football game or HIP-HOP music competition ? REALITY IS THIS: UGA is the highest ranked 2 loss team in the country and is even ahead of no-loss HAWAII. Why ? Because of the famous SEC poll bounce which requires that SEC teams be ranked 10 spots ahead of where they deserve.

You’re jealousy is obvious. You wish you could come to Athens yesterday dressed in black and share in the excitement. HAWAII has no defense so go ahead and put that to bed. Jay, and don’t forget Caleb King, too. If I remember correctly, the Gaturds wanted King, until he got hurt, then they cooled off even though they pretended they still wanted him. Wonder if they would want him now so Teblow isn’t getting killed by SEC linebackers and safeties anymore?

I think Caleb King might want to make Florida pay for giving up on him.

So, get ready SEC, for years of dominance by the Georgia Bulldogs. We have Knowshon Moreno. We have Caleb King. We have Matthew Stafford. We have the recievers that all of y’all wanted (Israel Troupe and now, the best recruit in the nation in AJ Green). And if y’all thought Stafford was awesome, wait until you get a load of Logan Grey in a couple of years.

We’re loaded. And not even ESPN will be able to ignore that fact anymore with their thinly-veiled UGA hate.

ESPN is really starting to make me sick with this BIAS against UGA!

They haven’t been to Athens in years for Gameday and on a weekend when Georgia is a top 10 team and playing another highly ranked rival…AND IT WAS THE ONLY MATCHUP OF RANKED TEAMS THIS WEEKEND

So where do they go????

TO A DIVISION 3 GAME!!!!

Then all week and on Saturday every ESPN analist picked AUB then Georgia takes them to the WOODSHED and do they talk about it???

NO!!!!! they barely talk about it or show highlights

Then they say USC is the best 2 loss team!? when they are 7 spots behind UGA!!!!!!

Then they show the reason why…. on Gameday they showed that they have been to OHIO ST the most (10 times) and covered the most Florida games 27

FLA and Ohio St….HMMMMMM wonder why GEORGIA gets no love or respect!

I had some Auburn friends with me as my guest during the game. About mid way throught the third Quarter, one of them asked me what Georgia had done to upset the referees. He did not realize it was the same crew that had taken it personally when Coach Reicht told his team it was OK to get one unsportsman like penalty during the Ga-Fl game because he had not watched the game. He said that it was pretty apparent the referees had it in for Georgia based on their calls. When the opponents start talking about it, it must be pretty obvious to all. That the SEC does not do something about it is a shame and reprehensible. He, Coach Reicht, has apoligized for his mistake. Grow up gentleman and start behaving like you are suppose to—impartial. To quote a previous Attorney General, when Judges become biased, there is no justice. Either this referee team needs to get over it, the SEC assign them to other games besides Georgia, or do the honorable thing and quit before they tarnish the profession for the other unbiased, excellent, hard working referees.

AMEN, Brother. I feel all those sentiments about ESPN. The perfect opportunity for Gameday to be in Athens and they’re at some stupid a$$ division III game?! WTF? I was absolutely shocked. And all the things going on on Athens, the Oldest Rivalry in the South, an SEC clash, #10 vs #17, then 2 highest ranked teams of the week, SEC East implications, the Blackout, the fact that they haven’t been to Athens in forever.

And did anyone happen to see the sign from one of the fans on College Gameday that read “Georgia Purple with Envy”? Even THEY knew it!! how rediculous.

Yes, and then we win and they barely cover it.

With Uga getting better, there will be a day bext year when they want to come to Athens. I wish that when they do, the school denies them access. That would be swet justice. Fvck ESPN.

The plain facts. We have a better record than Tenn and are ranked higher. We have a better team. Just becuase you beat us doesn’t mean you have a better team. You can’t argue that 5-6 Colorado has a better team than 9-1 Oklahoma because Colorado beat Oklahoma. If we both run the rest of the rgular season schedule and you lose the SEC Championship game to LSU, you’ll have 4 losses to our 2, and we’ll be the ones who are BCS bound. Not a bad result of you winning the tiebreaker.

Georgia hammered Auburn even with the brutal officiating, but most of the time that will cost you a game against top competition. The SEC needs to investigate. Anyone else notice that the refs didn’t throw a flag after an Auburn player got up into Stafford’s earhole (after either the pick or the sack they had)? Yet Johnson gets hit for 15 yards after celebrating by himself, away from any Auburn player. That kind of bias is disgraceful.

I argue nothing. I present facts…Deny it all you want, but it remains the same…The facts are, pun intented, BLACK and ORANGE…at least until next week…Let us reflect, UT beats UGA, UF beats UT, UGA beats UF, UT beats SC, SC beats UGA, Alabama beats UT, UGA beats Alabama, UT beats MS ST, MS ST beats Alabama, Auburn, Kentucky, UGA beats Auburn, KENTUCKY BEATS LSU and plays UF to the wire,etc..etc…Whoever ends up at the top of this heap has earned it…and it’s not over…So, if your arguement is UGA is better that all the above, beat them all, or win it all…

P.s…Tell it to the Zook’ems of Illinois how much better Ohio State is that they were last night…End of story…

Ahem,

It looks like I was wrong about Georgia football … again. Looks like the Bulldogs beat Florida AND Auburn. See, I’m a big-time college football guy, you know, the kind who works for big media on a big, big day for the big, big, big college football games. (I’m an Internet “expert” or a TV “analyst.”) Well, if I don’t know how a game is really going to go, I say it will be 17-14, 27-20, 24-21 or something like that. My deep insight comes from the local guys on the ground whose job routinely is to cover teams in their home towns. Then I cherry pick from them to produce my own superior stuff. That way, in case I’m wrong, it doesn’t look too bad. I’ve got to admit: It looks like UGA played really well down the stretch and pretty much jack-hammered Auburn. Maybe Georgia isn’t as “inconsistent” as I thought. Maybe, just maybe, Georgia is becoming a pretty good offensive team with blocking, running and passing. And the defense just might be playing a little better, too.

Hmmmm …. guess I’ll have to work a little harder next time before I roll the dice and make my Gameday picks.

TO YELLOWBLOOD

For a college football program that gives away pizza to sell tickets, has a rap artist blaring away as its halftime show (read Furman Bisher’s column a week ago), has more advertising in its crummy stadium than Stuckeys had on the highway 30 yrs ago…to even hint that UGA is somehow demeaning the game shows you are either hopelessly ill-informed or lack an ounce of objectivity.

Perhaps next year, if you’re lucky, ESPN will open up a Wed night slot, feature Tech each week, and you can go and get a free yellow frisbee, 3 Varsity hot dogs with lots of yellow mustard and gift certificate to a acne clinic…all for the price of a ticket to see battle mighty Duke.

All of you fans don’t need to talk smack about the other team. We all know that any SEC team can beat any SEC team in any given Saturday. Not one team is better that the other, not one. It all depends on which team shows up on a Saturday. Even Coach Mark Richt has admitted to this fact and that is the reason why he’s had to think outside the box to motivate his players. Every team in the SEC is just about equal and whichever team has the motivational edge will win. Tennessee beat us hands-down because Georgia was emotionally flat whereas Tennessee was all jacked up and ready to play as CMR would say. That was the same thought when Auburn came to Sanford Stadium but we had more energy and enthusiasm and got the job done. Both South Carolina and Tennessee got the job done against Georgia partly because they were prepared to play and partly because we were just flat. Yes, if you remember the Sunday after those games, weren’t you thinking about how flat and unmotivated Georgia played and how much some of you wanted some coaches fired? Let’s take this win and enjoy it but don’t rub it in to the opposing team’s faces. We were also there before and we will be there again so be humbled with these wins. This goes to fans from the other SEC schools as well.

I respect Auburn and their fans. I said earlier this year that once this team stopped dropping passes we would be a force to be reckonned with. Another bold prediction. By the conclusion of next season’s BCS Championship Game the Dawgs will have the nation’s longest winning streak and it will date back to THIS year’s Tennesseee loss. We’re stacked and we’re gonna be great for the next 3 years (at least) if we can stay healthy and loose. Oh yeah,to those of you referring to the team as thugs becuase these 18 to 21 year old your people want to dance and celebrate and have a good time. You should be reminded that football is a darn GAME. It’s supposed to be fun. Just because your old @$$ is too old to remember fun, it normally involves having a good time. MOST kids have a good time dancing. And to refer to KIDS dancing and celebrating to the music THEY listen to is ludacris. Would they be thugs of they were dancing to the fight song like at Naval Academy when they beat Notre Dame (which was great btw). These guys are young men so back off. YOU enjoy the game YOUR way and let’s allow the PLAYERS (yeah the guys that make all this possible) to celebrate in their way.

I think Georgia is the best all-around team in the SEC right now, but I disagree that Tennessee would lose to LSU in the championship game. LSU is overrated, and due to be exposed. If a few breaks had gone against them this year, they’d have 4 losses and would be lucky to be ranked in the top 25. As a Georgia fan they don’t scare me - I hope we win the East and get a shot at them. If not, I wish the Vols well. They beat us by 21, so they can’t be that bad.

Bob——Thanks for saying nice things about me, but I still must differ with you regarding the Zookster as a head coach.

Sure, the Zooker had the misfortune of following a living legend, but he was also a great recruiter, a so-so game-day coach and a miserable team disciplinarian. He was given a good shot in Gainesville, but he torpedoed himself … this is the largely unwritten story about his firing after two and a half seasons. His off-the-field actions, including a very public shouting incident at a UF fraternity house the morning after several of his players had been involved in a shoving match there was an embarrassment to himself, the team and the school. Zook, on more than one occasion, crossed the line between coach and buddy with his players. Many of his players loved him for it, but that is no way to run a program. According to a personal friend of mine who is the head coach of one of the Gator women’s programs, Zook was a walking dead man the day after the shouting incident happened. It was simply a matter of timing when the AD would announce it. The win-loss record was the tip of the iceberg.

I was one of those Gator fans who thought the Zooker deserved a fair shot for the first two seasons, but, in retrospect, he was clearly the wrong coach for the Gators at the wrong time. He would not have won the BCS MNC that Meyer did in just two seasons; he would have lost half of the close games that Meyer won last season. Meyer is flat out a better game-day coach.

As a former Gator assistant and coach, I do wish the Zooker well in Champaign-Urbana, and I do take some pleasure in his Illini’s “upset” of the Buckeyes.

I said it from the start of the season and I’ll say it now,”Fundamentals are key to being consistent, but games in college football are won and lost on emotion”. Bear Bryant was not a great X’s and O’s coach, what he was great at was getting his young players to play well over their heads, even when the talent was not there. Now, can we draw some comparisons to what CMR is doing? He is learning to adjust and get his kids motivated and more importantly believing they can beat anyone. Long live the FOC and to hell with GT. BTW great effort War Eagle and good luck against the evil genious west.

I love Georgia being in the same sentence as FSU and Miami, some of the most storied (and victorious)programs of the 80s and 90s. If thuggery consists of wearing a different uniform to pump up the fans or having fun during the game, I’m all for it. Don’t remember any weapon possession, drug trafficking or battery charges being put on our players.

Message for the haters: Swagger, fun, energy, emotion, winning. Not one thing UGA has done this season has been hateful or wrong. CMR won’t allow it, and will get his players motivated for games. Maybe you should check out the definition of a thug before you start throwing that phrase around.

Let’s try to keep somewhat of a level head here. Remember Auburn did lose to mediocre Miss State and South Florida. It was no secret that’s Auburn’s offense has struggles this season. Most impressive was our offense, AGAIN, not, and I repeat NOT, our defense. Auburn’s bad offense made our defense look great, mostly. Auburn couldn’t score against USF or Miss ST either. I’m still not on the Willie Martinez bandwagon. I think we would have a better team if he were replaced at the end of the season. So, for those of you asking, this WM hater has gone nowhere. Lisa,

With all due respect but you are wrong in your opinion and it doesn’t matter who you root for. You say the Dogs are Thugs well showing emotion in a highly emotional rivalry game is not being a Thug. A Thug is someone who commits real crimes such as fights, carrying guns, selling drugs etc. not celebrating after a big play. These guys were languishing in most of our games as they were coming out flat for instance our two losses against South Carolina and Tennessee and wins against, Western Carolina, Ole Miss and Vandy so Coach Richt decided to change things up and get these guys to play with some fire and intensity. So in knowing this I would suggest that maybe you are a little jealous that the Dogs have started playing so well.

I called your team thugs and I am not an Auburn fan. How dare you insult me by associating me with the thug SEC conference.

You got the penalites because your coach has your team out of control and acting like they have no class. They need to be kept on a short leash before there is a brawl. Richt is a prodcut of Miami and FSU. It is starting to show.

I’ve been coming to this blog for about a year now give or take a few months and I’ve NEVER been so insulted as I am now reading this. I’m really tired of the THUG accusations thrown around. It clearly has racial overtones,so let me just add this point White people..Caucasians purchase approximately 80% of ALL Hip-Hop/Rap music (I’m sure those of you who’ve made these comments wouldn’t know that there is a difference);they also account for a very large percentage of the concert goers. Maybe you haven’t noticed, but there are an awful lot of white boys dressing in the Hip-Hop style…and that has been for years now.your son or daughter probably has a 50 Cent poster on their wall as I sit here. The question is, why is it when the Dawgs hoot and holler they are thugs?. Why am I hearing the word THUG so much MORE today as opposed to two weeks ago in J-Ville? Did the black shirts really make you that uncomfortable? For GOD’S SAKE they’re SHIRTS!!!!!…all of a sudden the black shirts, the “Blackout” slogan….the black faces are just a little too much for you? You people (using the thug comment)really don’t get it, you see everything through the racial perspective. I didn’t get offended when I saw the fans painted black. Someone mentioned that they were in Black Face. I disagree vehemently they wereTOTALLY BLACK you see thats just a case of misinformation that leads to misunderstanding which is the fuel for this continuing bullsh*t. Just watch the freakin’ game and cheer them on,or go cheer on Tech or something. you all are part of the problem with these sorry, weak assed comments. I’ll tell you what.If you have a problem with Black folks then do what I’ve been told to do when I was growing up in a predominately white town “Go back to (fill in the blank)”..in my case it was Africa. Just remember one thing. Black people in America do have their problems,no doubt;but they do not have nearly as much blood on their hands as some others.

Now can we please get back to football!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Rene Curran made the biggest impression on me Saturday,he was everywhere and in a bad mood whenever he go there. That kid is a big time player who’s future is looking great. Massaquoi played very well and is starting to look more and more like a legit threat…where was Mikey?

I really think the turnaround on this season has been the addition of Moreno. Although it didn’t take a rocket scientist to see that I think…no I know his energy radiates to everyone around him and it brings their level up.He truly makes those around him better…and his running has made it easier for Stafford to get going. The future looks great…some of those personal fouls were weak I must say. Overall it was a great game and the team truly looked like a contender….a legit National contender. I’m happy about that, but pretty p** that Felix and RUN DMC couldn’t get an Arkansas win vs Tennessee. We could’ve used that!!!

Chip, I see you had the low class gall to ask Richt if he was lying over the past week regarding wearing the black jerseys. You and Moore contribute little to this paper and only seem to spend your time trying to spark some kind of controversy where there is none. I’m amazed you can actually draw a paycheck for this pathetic crap.

CapeCodDawg I agree with you but I also have a feeling that most of the posters talking about our guys being Thugs are posers who are trying to stir up controversy.

This was a great win for our Dawgs and I am so pleased with the progress of not only the team but the coaching staff as well. Coach Richt has stepped it up and it shows in how the Dawgs are playing.

Go Dawgs lets get ready for Kentucky

CapeCod Dawg, I’m with you as well! I think a lot of this is pot stirrers and not real fans. I think most of them are Tech fans who live vicariously through our wins although congratulations to them on their big win over Duke. Tough ballgame.

Don’t let the haters get you down. The kids played a great ballgame and I love the emotion they are showing now. Richt gets it and one of the signs of a successful coach is that they adapt to the situation. Richt saw what the team needed and provided it. We’re lucky to have him and players the likes of Moreno, Curran, Stafford and Southerland. GO DAWGS!

All you Vol fans out there, gotta give credit where credit is due. You played a great game against us and you won, no doubt about it. I won’t even act like a Florida fan and blame it on an injury to a second cousin of the trainer’s roomate. You had the better team that day. I personally think you win out and play LSU in the SECC. If so, we still go to a good bowl. Better than I thought at the beginning of the season. You Vols started out rough, but have played much better since then. Your destiny is in your hands. Ours is not. I still think that there are many Vol fans who think the Phulmer era is over. It is up to you. Support him or dump him, it is not this blogs choice. Because I am a good friend of the blawger Gen. Neyland, I will probably pull for you in the SECC, though that may be balsphemous for many of my Dawg fans. But I am like George Carlin doing the sports report, I call em like I see them, if I don’t see them, I make them up. Good luck General. Sorry for the absole comments directed to you from ourside.

Hey this old white guy gets pumped watching our players, Caucasion and well I use the term black just because every other term seems like an insult, all dance on the side lines. All of them are RED and BLACK. And you want to talk about gimmicks, Vince Dooley had James Brown at halftime doing Dooley’s Junkyard Dawgs in 78, and he did it again on the cheerleader stage in 1980. Gimmicks to cheer up the team and get the fans going are as old as when guys wore leather helments. Get over it. If we have a drive by shooting of the Kentucky coaching staff during the game, that is when I will agree to Thuggery. Till then, shut the firetruck up. The kids are having fun and so is this old white guy.

Watching an increasingly aggressive defense and an explosive, perfectly balanced offense come together to notch big conference wins is not FUN if you pull for the other teams, but it sure is fun if you’re a Dawg. Like opposing fans would care about an endzone celebration, black jerseys, and sideline dancing if Georgia was losing…

Back when I coached Florida we may have had only the third best program in our state, but dadgum we had the best team in our conference almost every year. Now, my South Carolina squad isn’t the best team in the State (those dang Bowdens are the bane of my existence) and is only the fourth best team in the East division. Don’t these folks in the SEC know that my teams are supposed to win 80% of our games just through the sheer force of my brilliance and will?

After they run me out of South Carolina in a couple of years, maybe the Zooker could use an o-coordinator or a QB coach up there in Illinois. It’s just pitchin’ and catchin’ after all…

You’re an idiot of all idiots. It’s obvious you don’t understand what I’ve asserted with regard to competition in the SEC. Maybe this will clear things up. If one team is asleep on the football field, the other team will whip’ em…get it or should I draw it out in stick figures. This is a testament to the type of high-level football that the SEC is known for. But of course you had to take it literally, didn’t you? I sure hope you didn’t go to Georgia because I wouldn’t want you to represent our school. Also, thanks for finally admitting that you’re one of those fairweather fans that just happens to jump on the “bandwagon” as they see fit. You’re officially excused from this forum. I hear Georgia Tech needs some people in their bandwagon since no one seems to want to stay on it. Why don’t you go to their forum?

The thug comments are way off base.

What about Stafford asking Groves if he was OK (in a sincere, can I help kind of way) when he was rolling on the ground with a stinger?

What about when Moreno high fived the guy who tackled him and helped him up (because Moreno jumped to his feet first)?

How about kneeling in prayer together after the game?

How about a coach who doesn’t swear and yell at his players on national TV. Did you see Meyer cuss out that young running back who fumbled a direct snap against UGA? He came off to the side and Meyer actually said ” What the &^$& are you doing? in the most animated and humiliating way possible.

This is the same reason I don’t like Spurrier. He does that every game.

In the Auburn game, Kelin Johnson made a terrible mistake and coach Martinez gave him a hug when he came to the sideline, then quietly made sure he knew what he did.

That is why I love Richt and UGA.

Johnson either heard and earful at halftime or will in practice, but it will be away from the 90,000 spectators and national tv. AS IT SHOULD BE!

If all you have is that the fans and team wore black, teamates celebrated their great play by dancing on their own sideline, and the one team celebration after scoring against FL, these are weak examples.

I just gave you a bunch of examples of great sportsmanship off the top of my head from the last three games.

Well, there you go. Another ‘gimmick’ for Richt and the Georgia team to use instead of just going out and playing football. I guess this is the best way for him to make amends to his team after jumping all over them for nothing at Vanderbilt. It was very clear that the team was NOT jumping on the Vandy emblem at mid-field on purpose. That just happened to be the place that the team caught up with their kicker after he won the game for them! It’s clear the celebration in Gainesville (after the first touchdown) and the black jersey’s of this past weekend are appeasements to the team for the aforementioned accusation at Vanderbilt. But, hey, whatever it takes. But c’mon, just try to keep it real Georgia (Coach Richt). That way, it won’t look so cheesy.

Wow, talk about a sorry life you have. Even the tone of your message suggests that you’ve never been motivated to do anything in your life nor do you ever do anything fun. I feel sorry for your kids. Well, it is the season for giving and this is the time the Scrooge comes out. What do you mean keep it real? Georgia is keeping it real…with some fun and enthusiasm. If you don’t like it then don’t watch it, don’t get involved in it, and get a freakin’ life. Get off this forum and go to the negative attitude that pervades in the Georgia Tech page.

Hey Ball.

So sad that you would think I’m a Tech fan, but not surprising. (GO VOLS) You obviously missed my whole point. Like I said, whatever it takes to motivate and win. BUT, plain and simple, it’s an appeasement to an earlier mistake. Just try not to pass it off as an epiphany of genius, that’s all. By the way, do you know what…..nevermind, probably not.

UGA..Gotta give you credit, you looked very good against Auburn…You stunk at against UT and you let SC beat you. You beat Alabama, have a scare in VANDY and let Troy hang out with you and you outscored the Gators. I am a big Tech fan, wish I could say our team showed improvment this year. I see UGA loosing out to UT in the race. Dont be suprised if the wildcats of Kentucky give you a closer run than what you look for. UGA, you will probably end up playing Va Tech again this year in Atlanta. I give you credit UGA, you did better than I thought you would, you all should be proud. Next year, you should win the SEC out and play for a top 8 finish..This year, I think you get suprised and end up at 15th or 16th.

November 12, 2007 9:39 AM | Link to this

Bill, I think the way Coach Richt has handled himself and this team speaks well of everyone wearing the Black & Red. What he has done is to show the players that hard work and discipline can result in fun and success. Yes, we get a little over-excited, but no one is taking off their helmets, starting fights or flipping off the opposing fans. The players are having fun while WINNING. Richt was right - the kids playing football go through a lot of hard work, and they are showing what many grown-ups should learn from - you can have fun while working hard. Let them be 18 to 22 year olds, and ease up on the “gimmick” stuff. I think the recruits who have a choice of where to go play will take the message to heart: play for a good man & fun coach who is winning or a pumpkin that would just as soon eat you as coach you.

GO DAWGS!

Bill, one more thing: Coach Richt ordered the jerseys over the Summer, not after the Vandy game. It WAS a great coaching move, and it showed some class to do it so well. He did not insult the other team like the Great visor-wearing Satan does or turn in another program while cheating himself like a certain Big Mac - eating, fatboy did.

And Jeff… stick to forecasting the ACC race and who will play in Boise or Computer Bowls at the end of the year. Dawgs run the table, get in the BCS and finish in the top 5 while losing very, very few players at the end of this year. Top three ranking to start next year. GO DAWGS!

You actually thought that the UGA students were poking fun at African Americans because they painted themselves black and wore red wigs??? I don’t know how you people were educated but you’ve definitely shown your ignorance. Have you seen other students from other schools paint themselves yellow, red, or brown? I WONDER IF TENNESSEE FANS KNOW THAT THE SEC CHAMPIONSHIP IS NOT BEING PLAYED IN KNOXVILLE. THEY HAVE A TENDENCY TO GETTING THEIR FANNIES WHIPPED ANYWHERE ELSE. THE SAME THING WILL HAPPEN IN THE DOME IF THEY WIN OUT. THE WAY I SEE IT IS TWO STRAIGHT TO ATLANTA FOR TWO LOSSES TO LSU AND POSSIBLY CLEMSON IN THE CHICK-FIL-A. What next, are we gonna give up our rights to go fishing? We have got to make sure that we conserve but not give up our littoral rights, yall. The Dawgs look good, but we gotta keep praticing. My Techies need to focus on the basics. I wish we could have a tie at the end of the season. Remember, we gotta make sure to(all of us)buckle down.
