Have you seen Clara’s deal today?

Spirit Airlines is offering rates from Atlanta that are unbelievable — very much like RyanAir in Europe — on limited travel dates. For instance, pay 1 cent airfare to Orlando on Jan. 16, 19, 23, 30. There also are some 5 cent deals and some $17 deals.

Clara is Clara Bosonetto Maerz is a retired travel agent who is a freelancer for us. She posts deals daily on ajc.com/travel; you can find her deals by clicking on “deals” on this page.

If Spirit Airlines is looking to catch the public’s attention, this looks like a sure bet. Have you tried to book, and did you succeed? I’m awaiting word from a travel companion about dates — which probably means I’ll miss the deal.

The title to this blog as of this minute is: “Have you seen Clara’s deal today?”

I read the post by Amanda - what on earth does this post have to do with a Clara?

Oops, maybe I should revise that. Clara Bosonetto Maerz is a retired travel agent who is a freelancer for us. She posts deals daily on ajc.com/travel that she finds. This Spirit Airlines deal is the most incredible one I’ve seen in the U.S. You can find her deals by clicking on deals on this page.

Everyone, although I’ve flown on Spirit airlines, and think that they have the most comfortable seats in coach, I have caught on to their .37 cent deals, $7.00 deals and $9.00 deals. Yes it’s very exciting when you see the specials that they boast about. There’s always a catch! If you’ll notice, all of the specials are on the departure flight from say Atlanta to Orlando, IF you do not return on the dates that Spirit has listed as sales dates, you WILL NOT get the great deal. You’re sure to pay for a regular flight if you do not return on the dates in which Spirit has listed as “sales” most dates are weeks or months away (for those who are looking for weekend getaways. All in all Spirit’s web site and their specials are very tricky.. be careful! Someone should run a story about them!
