So what your saying is whites will be the largest minority in a country of mo majority? Yeah, so how does that matter?

Does that mean I can then stop getting passed over for contracts that goes to minorities?

How about minority quotas in jobs? Will my son continued to get discriminated against as I have?

This will not matter much if whites still control the majority of the wealth in this country. When we start seeing wealth and power more evenly distributed, then that will be a headline worth reading.

Please, this is assuming that the “minorities” are some sort of centralized power block in the US. They aren’t any more than the white majority is a monolithic single minded group. Even within each minority you have divisions, so in the end this doesn’t matter.

The real issue is animosity between all the races that exists today and the fact that I can’t drive through mechanicsville without little children calling me racial epithets.

I’m not worried. By 2042 hispanics will be integrated into the middle class just like the influx of irish, italian, german, japanese, and chinese were a century ago. (they weren’t considered ‘white’ either)

I’m now convinced the AJC doesn’t put these blogs up to get genuine feedback. The blogs go up when there’s “fire” potential. They know the closet racists will anonymously post hatred and innuendo that black folks are still watermelon eating porch monkey and the pro-black set will get all riled up.

The AJC is pitiful and shameless. Please remember people that it was one of the media outlets that fanned the flames of hatred during the Atlanta riots. Time hasn’t changed a thing as far as they’re concerned.

White privilege… “Woe is me”..Always quick to whine about other people (minorities) who simply ask for their “fair share”, their fair opportunity.

White privilege.. massive wealth gained off the backs of Blacks, Native Americans and other minority groups; passed down from generation to generation. Hold on to it - at all costs.

White privilege.. where you can feel great about having a career or education through nepotism without necessarily having the qualifications.

White privilege..where you can get the benefit of the doubt in most situations, where others are condemned without second thought.

As a white man - I’m not concerned. The majority of majori american corporations require credit and background checks in order to grant employment and that is simply something that African Americans and Latin Americans cannot pass.

The bulk of the commerce will still remain where it is now. In the hands of the right people to handle it appropriately. If you can’t pass a credit check - you do not deserve to work for a major corporation in America.

Too bad our government failed us andgave away our country. We allow a neighboring country to invade sending millions into our country along with their drugs, impregnated and for the express purpose of taking our country.
The only answer is deportation. the only justice is revocation of any citizenship they claim. This country was stolen….and aided by our government. At least now we get to apply for jobs as the minorities and get the perks they have had for years. The white male is now the endangered species. I have surprising news for not only the Brookings Institute, but the entire State of Georgia & the United States as well. It’s not going to take “that long” for this situation to come to full circle! First of all, they haven’t taken into account the exploding number of illegal alien-termed people who are scaling fences & walls in New Mexico, Texas & Arizona to get into this country; an issue which our government at all levels (local politicians, state reps & the federal level officials) have simply tap danced around actually addressing! Secondly, for the average white American, those days will be days of unrepentant reckoning because while they have continually wasted their time & focused primarily upon the black community as being their greatest threat, they have foolishly ignored Mexicans, Cubans and other ethnic groups who have penetrated the U.S. and gained footing here. As white America grows older who do they think will undoubtedly be in jobs to care for them as their nurses aides & health care providers? Undoubtedly, black Americans! The same (black) people who were treated sadistically-wrong from one generation to the next by white Americans. At the same time, the Mexicans, Cubans, Asians & Pakistani’s will control our political offices & corporate America. If anyone doubts what I say, I challenge you to look at Miami today where Cubans control everything! Look at California, New Mexico, Arizona & Texas, where Mexicans have already taken over, or Metro Atlanta, Charlotte, Ohio where they are are growing rapidly! Have an issue with your credit card bill and see who you speak to & where—someone over in Asia or India. Wake up white America…because its NOT black America you have to worry about! Wow, why does this phenomenon appear to create such fear among some of us? The population of North America has grown from less than 25 million to more than 525 million in the short span of the past 200 years. Wasn’t it inevitable that such growth might eventually express itself in modest changes to the population distributions in the United States and elsewhere in the hemisphere? Change is a permanent element of our existence, so keep your wits about you.

What the heck:

I do have a job of which I am quite proud. To be directing a major infrastructure company at 30 is something I busted my butt for and proved my worth. However my road to this company was put before me by the definition of descrimination.
You see I was an assistant manager in a fortune 500 company here in Atlanta, when the manager position came open. Our newly hired african american director decided to hire one of my subordinates, who happened to also be african american. This was after he had hired family and friends to fill other rolls. This was a subordinate that had been written up for attendance issues and poor performance, but none the less a friend of the director. Upon filing a grievance I had our Exec VP (hispanic by the way) pull me into his office, apologize and inform me that there was nothing they could do because they had to meet a quota of minorities in manager level positions. I was offered a raise…I left.

As to the contract issues, I will freely admit that I have lost contracts to minorities on their own merit. However, I have lost out on more due to government minority contracts and tax breaks to those who use minority contractors.

As to my son…he’s two and I pray that he will not have to go through what I have already had to deal with. You may think nepotism runs rampant in business but if it’s in a public business minorities have carte blanche.

I speak another language fluently, and can get by in 3 others. Communication is necessary for understanding, and if you can’t communicate, you’ve got problems. Language barriers keep people from assimilating even more than cultures. Require new citizens to speak english, and ban drivers tests and voting in other languages, and you’ll start seeing a single language over time. Don’t teach regular subjects in other languages in schools (like in CA). Knowing other languages is fine and should be encouraged, but not knowing English in a english speaking country is unacceptable.

EW, appreciate that sentiment. I knew a guy once, happened to be African-American; PhD from M.I.T. in mathematics. I recall him saying - more that once - something very close to what you said above (i.e., …really don’t want my son to have to experience what I’ve had to experience because of skin color…). I suspect you both were right to have those sentiments, and I’m sure many others feel similarly - with I’m sure good reasons for feeling that way. How do we all get through some of this nonsense with some sense of sanity and compassion?

White does not equal privilege or wealth anymore than black equals criminal or poverty. PEOPLE have to deal with both.

As far as another language. I used to enjoy learning spanish. No more. I should not be forced to conform in my own home. You can thank the private sector…your builder, chicken farmer, landscaper, painter etc for giving illegals jobs and businesses for falling all over themselves trying to earn their business (cash)…for this mess, not just the government.

Do not hire them. Do not rent to them. Do not hire only spanish speaking employees. Do not allow kids that can’t read or write english to attend public schools. Provide health care once, tag them and deliver them back to their country. Use GPS.

Europeans were able to take this country from the native Americans because of numbers, technology and taking advantage of certain deficiencies.

We can SEE this coming, are predicting it and are still doing nothing. just nuts….

I do enjoy seeing black men and white men embracing each other in Gwinnett because they both speak english and are tired of non-american growth.
