Wish Nelson Mandela a happy 90th birthday

The tall, majestic figure the world saw walking out of prison to freedom 18 years ago is now gray-haired, frail and for the most part silent as he reaches his 90th birthday Friday. His fight against apartheid and other injustices gave him legendary status. Send your salutations to the former South African president.

Robben Island, where Mandela was imprisoned, is plagued by problems but remains a major tourist site.

Mr. Mandela,

My heart leaped for joy when you were released from prison and at the same time was sad and enraged because of the unfairness. However, when you walked out of that prison, you looked majestic and vigor. You looked liked a man who had peace within himself because you stood for right. I thank God you did not become/or stay bitter. Praise the Lord for you. Happy birthday!!

It is with hummling respect that I forward this message to you on your 90th birthday. You have been and insperation to me as I endeavor to serve the constituency in my city, and I must admit, that I try to immulate your charisma, grace and dignity of charater. I welded with tears of joy and thanksgiving on your release from incarceration on that faithful day in 1990. I was overwhelmed with appreciation of your presence of strenght and resolve as you exited those vehicle and began your walk into immortality.

I visited your Robbins Island and the cell that you knew as home during your stay and was overtaken with the conditions you were endured to exist. Due to the grace of GOD and sustaining mercy you were delivered to the world where you performed on a greater stage. The metal was tested and proved to be true of any impureties and was deemed ready to be used by Almighty God to serve His people.

Mr. Mandela I wish you contitued blessings from God Himself and your days be filled with peace, joy and happiness with your family on this your 90th birthday. I love you.

Honorable Nelson Mandela:

Your the icon of my generation. I boycotted and stood up to end apartheid because I wanted to leave this world a better place than we found it. Your struggle for freedom became our cause celebre. Seeing you walked out of the gates at Robbins Island and years later take the oath of office as the elected President of a free South Africa remains two of the most moving moments I’ve experienced.

On your 90th birthday I wish you all the best and God’s blessings.

After many years of being in prision you were still elected and served as President of South Afticia. You are fabulous. Again, Happy Birthday Mr. Nelson Mandela!

One of the writings of Nelson Mandela is posted above my computer and read frequently:

“Our greatest fear is not that we are inadequate, but that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us.

We ask outselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, handsome, talented and fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God.

Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God within us. It is not just in some, it is in everyone.

And, as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.

As we are liberated from our fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” …..

You, proud warrior and griot, are a child of God and have made manifest the glory of God within you. Thank you.
