Get well wishes for Archbishop Gregory

Archbishop WIlton Gregory told his staff this weekend that he has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, and will have surgery on Nov. 5.

The five-year survival rate for prostate cancer is 100 percent if caught early enough, according to the American Association for Cancer Research.

Gregory has been the spiritual leader of Catholics in north Georgia for the past three years, and has been an influential and widely recognized leader among U.S. bishops.

You may leave your thoughts and wishes for the archbishop here.

As a member of Our Lady of Lourdes. I remember when he came to us. I was very excited to see him. He confirmed my son, and I got a great picture with him. I know that he will pull through and that GOD will protect him from this deadly disease. My prayers go out to our Archbishop Gregory.

Archbishop Gregory,

I’m sorry to hear that you’ve been diagnosed with prostrate cancer, but please trust in the doctors & nurses that I know the Lord will be giving to you through them. My father fought this 10 years ago, and is loving life now! My prayer group will be lifting you up.

Peace, Marita

I Wish Archbishop Gregory Wilton to a speedy recovery following his surgery. My father was diagnoised with prostate cancer in 2006. The cancer was detected early and he is doing just fine now by the grace of God. During that time I got a lot of information on prostate cancer. You don’t think about certain illness until someone you love gets it. All men should get regular checkups. Archbishop Gregroy Wilton is in my prayers!

Archbishop Gregory, I am a Protestant, but I attended Catholic Schools until college. I have tremendous respect for The Catholic church, and it is good to see the numbers of Catholics in the Protestant south increasing. You are a tremendous man of God, and I believe that you will see the Holy Spirit heal you. Catholics really do the Work of the Ministry with your many charitable causes. God has bleesed you and will continue to do so.

May you be consoled by His healing presence as you have consoled countless others in their times of need. Be blessed and continue to be a blessing! Jesus we trust in You.

I understand one thing if nothing else is that God is in control. He loves us dearly and that alone sometimes seemingly is not enough to prevent troubles in our lives. God never promised it would be easy. But his yoke is easy and his burden is light. Yet there are some great possibilities that come out of what we feel are tragedies. Is that all things work together for the good of those who love the Lord. Saying that only means you will be saved by the blood of Jesus, wrapped in his love that surpasses our own understanding. Invariably our precious Lord has more healing in the hem of his garment than all the medicine shelves in the world. After all is said and done. A test of faith is this will be for you but you will survive this dreadful disease and be an example for each of us. You will be healed and blessed through the blood of Jesus. Many of us have not had the pleasure to speak with you face to face but we love you, you are our Bishop and all of prayers will only reinforce the Lord to grant you his will that you are healed. So get on with the surgery, get well, and we will be waiting for you at Mass. We will beat this through the Holy Spirit. Amen. It’s Done.
