Could you go a day without e-mail?
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
One company has called for e-mail free Fridays as a way to get people to talk to each other at work and to lighten the load. Do you find that e-mail has made your life easier and increased your productivity at work? Or has the volume of e-mail become a burden, the ability to send e-mail a crutch to avoid a conversation? Could you survive a day without e-mail?
Should pollution watchdog be on Ga. Power payroll?
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
William “Bill” Archer III said this week he sees no conflict between his $200,000-a-year consultant’s fee for Georgia Power and his service on the board that sets environmental policies in Georgia and votes on air and water regulations.
Archer is the newest member of the state Board of Natural Resources, appointed by Gov. Sonny Perdue in June.
Perdue sees no conflict of interest either. But others say it’s inappropriate.

Should kids have recess at school?
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Continue the conversation about recess at Get Schooled blog
Atlanta school officials did away with recess in the 1990s to give children more time for academics. But the daily playtime has been creeping back.
In 2005 the Atlanta school board decided children should have 20 minutes per day in “unstructured activities.”
Other districts that also scaled back recess are feeling pressure to allow it again.
What do you think? Should elementary school students have recess each day?

Some train cars would sport leather couches from the furniture retailer. Other would feature a a virtual bookshelf from the bookseller.
Train cars could become art galleries. At Halloween pumpkins would sit in windows.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Ah, a beautiful holiday weekend is looming and what’s everybody talking about? The MTV awards. Apparently no one watched the show, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have an opinion. You’ve probably checked out a few photos yourself. Ice T and wife Coco anyone?
