Three servings of Special K
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
A win’s a win, they say, but I am getting sick of these games always being tainted by one thing or another. When was the last time we just won a game without it being under harrowing circumstances? Toronto? That’s at least the third game this season they’ve given up a tying goal in the final minute. At least the third.
On the other hand …
So happy to see Kapanen continue to contribute …. even happier to see Kovalchuk and Kozlov get much-needed goals. On TV, Ilya clearly muttering to himself after his, clearly amazed that he went so long without. That was his first goal against in a goalie in about 10 games. Kozzie continues to be money on the shootout, a perfect first shooter because he immediately puts pressure on the other team.
Gotta get back to work, but Brian will happy to know that I watched almost the whole thing tonight. It looked like a crisp, clean victory in the making … until the usual problems in the third period. What can be done about this? Where are the breakdowns? We may need to start keeping track of all these too-many-men and delay-of-game penalties, there seems to be one or the other in every game.
Blog away …
