New lineup, new results?

Kovalchuk-Peverley-Little

Kozlov-White-Thorburn

Motzko-Reasoner-Armstrong

Boulton-Perrin-Stuart

Havelid-Enstrom

Schneider-Bogosian

Hainsey-Oystrick

Lehtonen

Erik Christensen and Boris Valabik are healthy scratches. Colin Stuart will wear No. 49 and Joe Motzko No. 41. Stuart will be on the penalty kill, and Motzko will get a shot at some power play minutes. I’m not positive about the defensive pairings.

The first two lines are ones Thrashers coach John Anderson used in the third period of the 5-4 loss to the Islanders Tuesday night. The Thrashers scored four goals in that period.

Anderson, on the new Kozlov-White-Thorburn line: “Hopefully we’ll keep them together for three or four games. That’ll mean we’re winning.”

The Thrashers are looking to snap a three-game losing streak.

Maybe if any of the lines show up in the FIRST period that’ll mean we’re winning? I like that JA has moved more young guys in lines with some vets. Looks like we’re actually trying to build experience. Looks can be deceiving though…

At this point, I think we’re looking for better development of prospects. Is Thorburn one of those prospects that the team intends to develop? If I’m not mistaken, Chris Thorburn is an RFA this Summer. I’m not entirely sure he’ll even get a qualifying offer. So, for him to join White and Kozlov makes me think that, perhaps, improved play from Thorburn might make him more attractive to package in a trade deadline deal. But what do I know? Maybe Waddell plans to ink Thorburn to a 5-year deal this summer. I honestly have no EARTHLY IDEA what Waddell thinks. How’s that quote go again? “It’s a mystery, wrapped in a riddle, tied to an enigma.” It’s from the movie, “JFK.”

In case anyone’s curious, the Thrashers acquired Chris Thorburn from the Pittsburgh Penguins on June 22, 2007, for Atlanta’s 3rd round pick in that 2007 draft. You might recall, when the Thrashers traded its former 1st round pick, Alex Bourret, to the NY Rangers at the 2007 trade deadline, Atlanta acquired a 3rd round pick in the deal, along with Forward Pascal Dupuis. That’s the pick Atlanta gave to Pittsburgh to get Thorburn. In the unlikely event that some GM tenders an RFA offer sheet for Thorburn, Atlanta will have the right to match that offer to retain Thorburn’s services.

Let’s see what, if any, fruit this bears.

I still think Armstrong and Thorburn should swap places. The Kozlov line didn’t seem to miss a beat when Little was hurt and Armstrong filled in that spot on that line. Oh well I guess we’ll see how this goes. Hopefully some fresh blood from the Wolver getting some playing time will motivate some others. Someone needs to hold this team accountable some way.

My guess would be that Thorburn is on the short list of players that they want to keep. He has substantial history with the coaching staff, and since they’ve arrived he’s seen modestly more ice time, much more responsibility, and more promo time.

I like seeing Stuart and Motzko up. Please hockey gods, send up Spencer Machacek next!

An early killer shorthanded goal by untalented son of a betch Finn Kari Letemin! The losing streak continues. What an oxygen waste pile of useless crap! Defend that one you SOB apologists. Damn mother (X)!

To my friends in Hamilton. I have a few bucks. Will you take these quitter losers now. Pretty please?

Overrated Captain Ilya Kovalchuk contines to misfire badly. Even drew extremely mild criticism from lying homer announcers. None of the Toiletlids could hit the ice on a faceoff drop. Goalie cannot stop a watermelon. GO CANES!

Congratulations on shutout Mr Cam Ward. Well deserved. Of course you did defeat an extremely marginally talented Pee Wee League team with no goaltender, no offense, no defense and no coaching but a shutout is a shutout. Guess you did not know Kari Letemin had a high save percentage. Of course he whiffed in two goals including a shorthander. I know, I do not give a damn about the meaningless save percentage statistic either. Just another completely gutless effort by a totally heartless team! The losing streak lives on. Just start sieve bestard Letemin next game to ensure its continuation. Thanks John Petrino! Hamilton will be a favorite city of mine if it takes these uncaring pathetic gutless quitters out of Georgia.

Kari stopped 38 of 40 shots, with very little team defensive support, and was the “player of the game.” Uh, not as selected or determined by me, but by the broadcast crew. I don’t think they got their selection incorrect, however. This game was eerily reminiscent of the Dallas Stars game, in which the Thrashers lost, 2-0.

The NY Islanders defeated Florida. Just sayin’. It’s not too soon to be scoreboard watching. Also, the Maple Leafs defeated the Penguins. I’m just gonna ask. Ready? Reply with a “Yes or No” answer. Here, now, the question: “Will the Penguins make the playoffs this year?”

The homer announcers are lying SOBs! They make an embarrassing 2-0 mail-in shutout debacle sound like a last second nail-biter defeat. Hey moronic fools, I watched the whole damn game! Every stinking nauseating second of it. What dumb a##holes!

THIS is Minor hockey team. No Talent. No reason to play. It is impossibleto win a game to make only 19 SOG. FIRE DON WADDELL as soon as possible. New GM can bring player that can compete in NHL level.

Geez, that’s a godawful team. Pitiful. Yeah, the ownership is a joke, and Waddell is marginal, and now I’m thinking maybe Anderson’s not such a good coach. Wonder if Mike Smith and Thomas Dimitroff know anything about hockey.

Stendec, get back on your meds. This team isn’t worth your good health.

I hope Dub is shopping the whole team (minus 5-8 players) at the deadline. I want prospects. Lets get younger and take the opportunity to get the kids some time up.
