Does Philly have Atlanta’s number?

The Thrashers are well aware they’ve lost 11 consecutive games to the Flyers. How does that affect them heading into tonight’s game? Not so much, defenseman Garnet Exelby said.

“I think more of it’s coincidence than anything,” Exelby said. “Their team’s changed a lot and our team’s changed a lot over that streak. The bottom line is it comes down to how we show up, and the way we showed up for the previous game against the Flyers this season is not acceptable. We have to be better [than in that 7-0 loss]. I think we’re a different team even from then.”

We will know pretty soon. Thrash need to remember the game they played at Buffalo. They had played the night before at home, traveled and still skated the whole game with the Sabres and won it in OT. So they have to be ready and don’t be assuming the Flyers will be tired and satisfied with winning last night at the Habs.

What do you guys think of the new 3rd jersey? I thought it looked ok, better than the pj blue home jersey to me.

All my best to the Thrashers! Hope winning streak remains intact. Very disgusted right now. One Atlanta pro team has already totally quit on fans (Falcons)! Hope Thrashers do not do the same to their fans later. Do know care who is between pipes as long as it is not What’s-His-Name! May take six goals tonight. Hope Thrashers are in a scoring mood!

Philly beatdown is on! Hard to tell who in Hell was between the pipes. Supposed to be Moose but performed more like untalented What’s-His-Name! Do not think heartless Thrashers will EVER defeat Flyers again. John Petrino should have started Pavs. What a dismal judge of talent and chemistry! Oh well, the streak is officially over. It is now 8:12 p.m. EST. Was nice while it lasted!

stenDICK, you are seriously mentally disturbed. You are as big of a fool here as you are on the Falcons blog.

Only you don’t stick out as much on that blog because there are so many dumba$$es like you there.

You idiot!

This is more like the Thrashers I know. I feel like this game is this bad because Atlanta forgot to show up for half of the game, maybe even more. Just listen to Kamal

Hi Steely Dan. An even dozen! That is how many games the Thrashers have lost in a row to the Flyers. The majority of those defeats came with your boy hero What’s-His-Name in goal! The time is now 9:41 p.m. EST. The winning streak is just as over now as it was at 8:12 p.m. EST. Hope you and your untalented Finn enjoy a nice evening together. Foolish idiot!

Pin this one on Coach John Petrino! Should have started Pavs. Unseen by Flyers to my knowledge. Moose KILLED team! Did perfect impersonation of untalented What’s-His-Name with fatal early and late goals in first period. Could not wait even a F+++++G minute before allowing a goal Moose? Does not make a damn WHAT goalie did after that choke job of monumental proportions. Contest was officially over at that point. Thrashers displayed no fight or pride whatsoever.* Were submissive B+++++S to the talentless Flyers once again. Damn!

stenDICK, you bafoon, you moron, you idiot, you know-nothing a*******wipe!

You are seriously saying that the goalie that had won FOUR GAMES IN A ROW should not have been started???

Tell me, where did you post the suggestion to start Pavs before the game started? Oh, you didn’t, that’s righ. You idiot!

If JA DID start Pavs and we lost you would have been here telling us MOOSE should have started.

Do us a favor you fool, you moron, you dillweed….stay on the Falcons blog with the rest of the know-nothing blowhard dumba$$es!

Shut the F up, you moron.

It is a shame that John Anderson and his staff could not get the team motivated enough to show up until the 2nd period.

I had hoped the 7-0 beating would have given the Thrashers enough of a fire to actually play 60 minutes of hockey.

That was not the case.

Thrashers almost salvaged a point. It’s a disappointing defeat. But, there were good moments in this game. I’m not throwing the team under the bus over this one.

Love the new poll.

Pavs (50.5)

Moose (49.4)

What’s-His-Name (00.1) Thanks Steely Dan

Pavs is like a Chris Chandler.

Moose is like a Steve Bartkowski.

WHN is like a Jeff George/Chris Miller BARF!

I was wrong. Said it would take six goals to win in Philly. Five would have been sufficient.

Yes, stenDICK, you did say that. You also said in that earlier post that you did not care who was in goal. But then after the game you tell us that you just knew JA should have started Pavs.

You idiot!

Daddy, I took care of Keith Brooking last night since Kari’s back is still too sore to do the monkey puck.

You better put me back in the will for one-half of the double wide or I’ll make all the Atlanta sports teams lose.

What can really be said? Lupul faked Havelid right out of his skates… he was wide open… nice goal.

I’m more p** at Boris’ penalty… what’s a guy who’s 6’5” 240 lbs doing trying to poke check along the boards? USE THE BODY!! I had the same complaint about Sutton… I think Anderson needs to take Valabik’s stick away during practice and make him use the body.

Any word on how much longer What’s-His-Name is going to be out and injured? I hope he doesn’t come back. OH, did I say back?

Hokie — Asham clearly learned his technique from Briere. SOMEHOW his left skate lifted two feet off of the surface, though Valabik’s stick was stationary and in front of his right skate. The replay from the glass (players coming at the camera) clearly showed Valabik kept his stick still, and Asham churned his legs and then flopped like an Orca.

But yeah, I’d rather Valabik plaster the man into the boards, but then they probably would’ve called a phantom holding penalty (like they did on Exelby a little later in the game).

Every time the defender turned towards his own goal, the referees seemed to give a penalty. I didn’t watch the entire game, but those two calls were iffy at best, in my opinion.

So, now that moron stenDICK has another imaginary friend. It used to be “tommysteele” and now it’s “12345”. How clever you are stenDICK. Boy, you sure fooled us! You still haven’t explained why before the game you said you didn’t care who was in the goal, however after the game you insisted you knew putting Moose in was a mistake. If you’re going to be a big man and try to tell us you know what is best, here is a hint, do it BEFORE the game. And please explain the moronic comparison of JA to Patrino. Is JA jumping ship to run away to a pig school in Arkansas? Your act has grown old! Grow up!

Someone took exception to the Flyer goalie comments. Why? He said the Flyers are better than the Thrashers. Ya think? I would say a dozen straight wins is a strong enough argument! It certainly is for me. No professional team with any minute trace pride or heart whatsoever drops 12 straight to any opponent! Guess which team totally lacks pride and heart? Flyers could play Thrashers shorthanded for 60 minutes and still beat their sorry a++es!* As far as goaltenders…I love Moose. Keep him as a backup. Play him every sixth game or so. Chain Pavs to the net! He is the future. He IS going to have nights when he cannot stop a beach ball! Pavs will learn. Look how patient all of you are with What’s-His-Name who will never learn nor get any better! That is all for now. Still pi++ed at Roddy “Another Drop” White for letting Falcon victory slip through his butter fingers. Piece of dog s++t. Appropriate comment considering who his best friend is! Go Thrashers! End losing streak now.

ranallo10 - Briere has taught each team he has played for the proper diving technique.

I wish teams would go out and light the Briere’s of the league up. If every Briere style dive was met with a real roughing penalty involving stitches, the diving crap might come to an end.

I was at the game against CAR… My thoughts - The new jerseys did not look as bad in person. It took awhile to get used to, but I think I actually like them… The line of ARMSTRONG-REASONER-THORBURN played extremely well, IMO… I was disappointed in a few things Coach did yesterday, including changing up the aforementioned line by adding PERRIN to it, and by starting HEDBERG in that game… That was a no brainer PAVELEC start… Coach screwed up with that one… I blame that loss on COACH…

My trade list still stands… I am ready and willing to move the following players who have NOT contributed to their potential:

SLATER/CHRISTEN/PERRIN/HEDBERG or LEHTS(we don’t need both no more !)

We know what we have here. It’s time for DONNIE to do what’s right and move these players out of here…

I still think an even swap of Christensen for Vermette helps both teams… Crusher suits the Ottawa system better as does Vermette with Atlanta.

Atlanta gets a contract player, Ottawa gets a low cost player with RFA status.

By Tony C.

November 17, 2008 2:37 PM | Link to this

Well at least Christensen got a goal.

As far as Nittymaaki(spl?)’s comments…well I hope that it does provide some motivation to our guys… You would think losing by a touchdown would do that, buuut.

I think Big Vikki is tentative because he’s so big. Refs tend to call against the bigger guy if it’s a 50/50 call. Not just our guys, watch other teams as well. The Fighty Ducks were getting killed early in the season due to big-guy-gets-the-box penalties.

GO BLUE !!!
