No lineup changes for tonight

I’ve changed my mind on the current unbalanced NHL schedule. I think it’s a must that the Thrashers play Florida at least eight times a year, the more games near Ft. Lauderdale the better. Right now it’s a perfect 80 degrees, sunny with a slight breeze. I’m about to go get lunch somewhere down by the beach. Suddenly, that alarm clock set for 4 a.m. this morning for my 7 a.m. flight from Atlanta is worth it.

Before I go, just wanted to give you the lineup for tonight. No changes. That means Vigier will stay in the lineup, and Boulton/McCarthy are the scratches. Slava Kozlov didn’t skate this morning, but Hartley said there will be no lineup changes, so we’ll see Kozlov out there tonight.

Marian Hossa will play despite his left hand still a little stiff from Steve Begin’s slash on Thursday night. Hossa said he had a good practice and that it started to loosen up for him, so he’ll play.

Kari Lehtonen is in goal, but then again we already knew that. Hartley keeps promising that we’ll see Johan Hedberg sometime here before the playoffs begin, but he’s not tipping his hand on when.

Lastly — if you missed it, Tim Tucker had a story today that announced the Thrashers playoffs tickets are on sale. I couldn’t have been the only one thinking that they just totally jinxed themselves, could I?

Before the Montreal game I would have felt the same way, but after the effort and teamwork I am very confident that we will be in the playoffs for the first time in our history this year.

Got to move and support the product, and the Thrashers are the best Sports product in town! (Until September in Athens) Go Thrashers!!!

Here it is a Saturday night game, Thrashers on a win streak, end of season push to solidify their position for their 1st ever playoff appearance, AND FOR THE 2ND STRAIGHT GAME NO TV!!!

I followed the Flames when they were here, turned my son onto hockey when we moved to Denver following the AVS, moved back to Atlanta and trying to get him excited about the team and no TV. Can’t even get the local family bar and grill to air it.

How in the —— can we get the city behind a team if coverage can’t get to the fans?

Awwwwww, no TV for the Thrashers in Atlanta again. That sure is a big time setup y’all got down there! First class all the way! Break out the radio, boys, it’s 1940 all over again!! AWWW HAAAWW HAAAAW!

There’s nothing more to say about a guy like “P&S” then “WHAT A DOUCHEBAG!” Get a life moron. You’re probably some small, little nerd that could never even imagine having the stones to mouth off to a man in person, so you get on the internet and bump your gums. Go out in public and be as rude and disrespectful as you are here and see how long your mouthiness continues.

Thrasher fans, you gotta get the “Center Ice” package. It’s well worth it!

GO BLUE!!! Thrash beat Florida: 6-1.

Monday nite vs. the Caps may be a nice time to work in Hedberg if the streak can continue tonight.

Jeff - all but one the rest of the way are televised. Tonight’s a good night anyway to head out on the deck and tune into Kamal.

Kari is not Brodeur. Mix in Hedberg every once in a while. I thought we already learned this?

They need to put the Hawks on some other channel than SS. At least they’ll be doing the Thrashers game in English tonight on CI.

RedandBlack, the Thrashers are the best product in town. The Dawgs are in Athens. They do like the Dome though.

What’s CI? Yeah, it’s not like the Thrashers are in first place or anything. This no TV BS SUCKS.

Lee, it’s Center Ice, the pay cable package where you get almost every game played each night. About $120-$140 per year. Cheap. Less if you sign up now for the rest of the season and 1st two rounds of the playoffs.

On Comcast Cable, Center Ice is $119 for the 2nd half of the season. I don’t know if they’ll prorate it more than that. I suppose you could ask.

I cut a deal last summer with DirecTv, where I ordered the NFL Sunday Ticket, only if they would throw in the rest of the season of MLB Extra Innings (there was about a month left of the regular season). That stuff is all negotiable.

The guys need to pick it up & skate, they are a little flat. Lehts was a wall or we would at least be tied if not down. Hoss’s goal was a lucky bounce off the pipe from the deep left corner and right onto his stick just outside the crease. Cool, we like it.

We’ve already given up 27 shots on goal and only have 17. This is setting up for a classic letdown loss. Maybe Tkachuk can step it up here and pop one in. We are only down one, but they statistically aren’t playing that great

A HAAA HAAAAAA HAAAAAA!!!! I KNEW THEY COULDN’T DO IT! 5 GAMES IN A ROW IS THE MOST THIS “CONTENDER” CAN EVER MUSTER! DON’T PRINT ALL THOSE PLAYOFF TICKETS JUST YET BERNIE! AAAAA HAAAAAA HAAAAA!

This one got away from us. Panthers’ commentator Denis Potvin was almost giddy in stating, “Lehtonen is rattled. He’s rattled since the Jokinen goal. He’s giving up rebound after rebound. He can’t corral anything.” Well, I don’t Kari was thaaat bad. But that 2nd goal was on him, even if it was reflected out at the point. That’s 60-footer.

Folks, in seven games vs. the Panthers, this is only our 1st loss. It would have been better to get it to overtime, but the law of averages caught up with us tonight. The franchise has still yet to win six (6) straight games.

Pucks n Snot - How about telling all of the Thrasher fans the next game you will attend and where you will be sitting. I imagine we could get a few of us to give you a nice southern welcome, or are you a chickensh!t loudmouth as we all suspect.

Boy’s , Boy’s … You guys are letting this little troll get under your skin. He is the Matthew Barnaby and Sean avery of the blog. Regardless of his opinion , he has the right to show his stupidity. When your cooped up under ice and snow for most of the year these illusions start to take hold after a while. Ignore him and he will run along and annoy someone else. It was a lifeless exhibition until the final few minutes last night. Washington should get our dander up up on Monday. I’m sure they want a shot a Big Andy from earlier in the season.

LAC, you ought to be careful knocking Detroit, our boy CC is from Michigan and may take offense to calling it “the armpit of America”, though that actually made me laugh out loud.

Unfortunately, Tampa does not seem to be having as many issues with this Western Conference road trip as we had hoped. Like Brendan said, the odds finally caught up to us last night. The boys should get back on track Monday night vs. the Caps. GO THRASHERS!!

I actually stayed up to watch Calgary vs. Tampa Bay. It was shades of the 2004 Game Six, with a video review goal. This time, the Flames got it. But they didn’t hold the lead. Lecavalier scored to tie it, 2-2. Then the Flames got down 2-men and the Bolts cashed in during overtime. That hurt. They went from 0-points to 2-points in mere minutes.

Well, the Caps game is a very winnable one.

Pucks

HMMM…. Those Red Wings looked very average against a weak Boston team. 6-3 huh…

I know you are from up there, but without Steve and Brendon, your team looked pretty average on National Television 2 weeks in a row.

It would be very embarrassing to be gloating and primping all over our board if the Red Wings get knocked out in the first round, again.

Glass houses and all that.

Wait, wait….don’t tell me you guys in Atlanta actually got to experience a televised hockey game! WELL, SHUCKS! AINT SCIENCE SOMETHIN’??? Go ahead and try to roast me over the Boston game….about a third of our key guys are out, including Zetterberg, Markov, Franzen - Bertuzzi has yet to make his debut. Think I’m worried because we took a 12:30 Sunday game off? Hasek will perform in the playoffs and everyone knows it. We will be ready for the opening round and we will kill all in our path!

I do agree with you about Shanahan, however. It was a bad move to let him go - one of my favorite hockey guys ever. And BTW, it’s Brendan, not Brendon there, Cletus….
