FireFox vulnerable to Vista bug
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
When I wrote about a nasty little hole in the security of Microsoft’s Vista (as well as some versions of XP and 2000) I told you that FireFox users were safe. That was the thought at the time from most folks following the problem, including computer security companies.
You can read that blog posting by me here.
Turns out, however, that is wrong. FireFox users can get hit too. So let me link to an article in PC World that tells you how FireFox users can fix the problem.

If I backup an XP opperating system on an external hardrive now, would it be compatable with the new Vista opperating system on a new computer? None that I have looked at list Vista as compatable.

If you use the same program that you used to make the back-up and if that program is used with XP (and if the back-up program itself is compatible with Vista) you’ll be fine.
Remember - in most cases at least - you are backing up data that you have created, not programs. So there’s no real compatibility issues when it comes to the data itself.
