Review of the new Microsoft Office 2007
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
I am not one of those guys who hates change. There are times when it delights me.
But when a major software package - containing programs that I use on a daily basis - changes I always begin with hate in my heart.
Even if the changes are an improvement, I have to fumble around to find stuff and also need to figure out how all the features work with the new version.
So I hate the new Microsoft Office 2007. Honestly, that probably will change with time.
Since I’ve admitted my bias, I’d better steer you toward a reviewer who - presumably - doesn’t have hate in his heart. It’s an important upgrade for software than many of us use both at work and at home.

Personally I’ve dropped Office altogether in favor of OpenOffice. It’s a much better suite and given the price tag (free) it has saved me hundreds of dollars.
I mean really, why pay for something not as good? Just my opinion and I’m sure there are plenty of anti-OpenOffice folks out there.

I agree completely Bill. MS changes basic things (search instead of find !!!) to give the appearance of “new”.

The one thing I am trying to nail down a definite answer on is: Can you modify the “ribbon?” All of my users customize their toolbar (and will be p** if they can’t in the future) and from what I understand, you can’t customize the replacement for the toolbar, which is the ribbon.
