Creating Web pages that attract attention

I’ve had a personal Web page for years.

I can say - without blushing - that it is ugly and hard to navigate. That doesn’t matter to me since it is there for family and friends.

But many of you have small businesses that depend on a Web page to promote your services and even as a way to market them.

I’m no expert in creating pages that score high with the search engines or have content that is ‘sticky’ enough to keep people around.

If you’d like to learn how to do that, there’s a free course over at Cnet that offers help. I’ve skimmed through some of the material and it seems interesting and - best yet - was simple enough for me to understand.

You can check it out here.

There are millions and millions of web pages out there. My company (Broadcasting Interest Enterprise, Inc.) has developed a few over the years here and there. If anyone is interested in designing their own web pages, I would suggest the following resources & components to start:

1) Thomas A. Powell, “The Complete Reference HTML” publisher Osborne/Mc Graw Hill 2) Seth Godin, “The Big Red Fez”, A Fireside Book published by Simon & Schuster New York 3) A good Web Development Software package that is user friendly. 4) A Web Hosting Company that will allow you to lease space on their Server for a year under $120.00 USD 5) Establish a domain name that is simple to remember, not long to spell.

Please note, once you have pursued the five things mentioned, you are not finished.

Huh? What!?

Fore, “marketing” is the absolute key to the success.

We have mentioned to our Clients for years that in order to draw attention to your site, you must market it.

Types of Marketing Tools to consider:

1) Business Cards 2) (Short) Creative Informative Flyer 3) Word of Mouth 4) Newspaper Ads 5) Exchange links with other websites you are ‘Very Familar’ with… 6) Outdoors Billboard Ads 7) Mobile Marketing 8) Internet Marketing 9) Special & Sporting Event Marketing 10) Become a Sponsor or get a Sponsor

Now, this information is definitely what we would call at http://www.networkingmenu.com … sharing the wealth of knowledge.

Good Fortune and have a Great Holiday.
