I can’t wait - literally
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
How patient are you when it comes to waiting for a Web page to load?
If you wait longer than 4 seconds, you’re among the patient elite. You can read about it here - most of us move on if a page takes longer than that to load.
It jives with my own experience by the way.
I’ve been away - in the wilds of Arkansas visiting my mom - and I was forced to use a cellular modem several times during the trip. While it was great to be able to connect, even in areas where I didn’t have access to a regular Internet connection, the relatively slow connection sure made me yearn for high speed.

I’ve just recently inhereted a problem with Dr. Watson that I’ve been unable to resolve - even through Microsoft (surprise, surprise!). Each time I attempt to shutdown, I get an error message: “DWWIN.EXE: The application failed to initialize because windows station is shutting down.” At that point I have to force the PC to shutdown. Anyone have that problem and found the solution?

I don’t wait. Why? Because most of the time at home I use Links as my main web browser. It’s FAST!

With Dillo I get angry if I have to wait even a second. With Swiftfox with Fasterfox turbo, mor e like two. ;)

I like Dillo, too. I use it sometimes under Puppy, though I mostly use Mozilla Seamonkey on that box.

Ref: MS IE 7.0 I recently upgraded my MS IE to MS IE 7.0 because I liked the extra security it offerred. I had one major problem. Once I upgraded, my HP 2110 All In One Printer would not work - not at all! After hours of checking things out and hours of chat with a very helpful HP support group it came down to IE 7.0 and HP 2110 are not compatible. Once I removed IE 7 and reinstalled the 2110 software all worked well.
PS Un installing the IE 7.0 was straight forward and in my case reverted me back to IE 6.0. Just thought you may wish to warn others.
