Major upgrade to Internet Explorer available
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Internet Explorer 7 is the first major update to Internet Explorer in a while.
There are a lot of new features and I’ll link to a review of the browser here
But one new feature - and it sure isn’t the one getting the most attention - will solve a lot of problems for my readers, at least judging from the e-mailed questions I get.
That feature automatically adjusts the size of a Web page you are printing so that it fits perfectly on the printed page. There have always been ways to do that but - take my word - I get several e-mails a week on the topic.
You can download the browser here if you like.
My quick take? I doubt that Firefox users will be moving back to IE anytime soon but it’s a worthwhile upgrade.

Downloaded Zone Alarm’s free firewall. After installation I could not connect to the internet. Uninsnstalled it and everything is OK.

Already using IE7, but not every website is compatible. Banking sites where I have been able to download transaction details are not compatible, thus, file download no longer works. Even with IE7 in beta for 14 months, many websites are behind getting their sites upgraded.

I have been using IE7 for a few months and like it but there are problems with downloading and opening pdf files and also opening flash movies which operate fine with IE6. I’ve had to downgrade back to IE6.
I’m not sure what the problem is but I sure hope MS fixes it before release.
