Microsoft Vista on the horizon
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
The prices for Microsoft Vista are now listed on Amazon and customers can preorder. And there’s also a release date. There’s no confirmation from Microsoft but odds are that the release date will be Jan. 30.
You can check out what some bloggers have had to say about all this and see the prices for the confusing list of Vista versions here.

In all seriousness, why is Microsoft upgrading Windows? Before I switched to Mac, I thought XP was quite an excellent upgrade from 98 (Millennium doesn’t even count. It was an inoperating system). Aside from adding Widget ripoffs and requiring more power to run it, what’s with the big upgrade? Keep fixing XP holes and stop trying to create something new before you fixed your last “new and improved” product.
