Off Week Ramblings…

With no game scheduled for this weekend, its a good time to step back as a GT fan and relax and get some yardwork and chores done.

Personally I find mowing the lawn to be a great opportunity to let my mind wander while I mechanically go through the motions behind the ‘ole John Deere.

A few of the topics I’m likely to think about might come from the following list:

1) Josh or Jaybo?

I was blown away by the competence and focus that Jaybo Shaw showed as a true freshman thrown into the game against MSU…cold and without any real warm up. He obviously has the understanding and the vision to make the reads and the pitches in Paul Johnson’s offense and he gives me great comfort from the knowledge that we have a TRULY capable backup quarterback. That’s right…backup quarterback. Because that is what he is for us this season…the backup. Josh Nesbitt is the solidified starter and should be taking the snaps as soon as he is healthy. He simply has more big play potential and more physical tools than Jaybo has as a true freshman. As badly as Jaybo beat up on MSU this past weekend, I think that Josh would have worked them over even worse.

That said…I think Jaybo needs to start against Duke and Gardner Webb. We should save Nesbitt until mop up duty against Gardner Webb so that he can heal up and then run some series full speed before we make the trip up to Clemson that follows the next two home games.

2) Dwyer or Moreno?

This is a tougher call for me. Both are superior talents that play in different offensive systems. Dwyer is a bigger, more physical runner with true sprinter speed if he gets in the open field. Moreno is more of a slasher, with great vision and elusive moves that show up in highlight reels. Honestly, if Paul Johnson had them both right now…you’d see Dwyer playing B Back and Moreno playing A Back. And boy it would be fun to watch!

If forced to pick one of them…I’d go with Dwyer. Dwyer is a big, durable player who can run away from defensive backs from any position on the field. He won’t hurdle a defender, he’ll stiff arm him or run through him.

Comparatively, Dwyer has 389 net yards on 48 carries for an average of 8.1 yards per carry against defenses that included Boston College, Virginia Tech, and Mississippi State. Moreno has 455 yards on 69 carries…an average of 6.6 yards per carry against defenses that included South Carolina and Arizona State.

3) Pass Defense?

What did it mean when we gave up almost 300 passing yards to Mississippi State this past week?

Not very much, in my opinion.

Mississippi State surprised us a bit when they started flinging the ball around in the first half but we adjusted nicely and played good defense in the second half. The Bulldogs only really moved the ball against defensive configurations that consisted largely of backups, freshmen, and walkons.

We’ll get tested again when Duke comes to town with Thaddeus Lewis and Eron Riley. But I think our defensive line will be more than up to the task and will disrupt the Blue Devils. Cutcliffe will need a few more years there before Duke will be a serious threat to the upper teams in the ACC.

4) White Out Against Miami?

The game will be November 20 at 7:30pm EST and its being billed as a “White Out” game. I can already hear people whining and complaining about how its going to be cold and they only have dark colored coats and its going to be hard to find warm clothes for that game, if they have to be white.

News flash people…wear layers and find a white sweatshirt or hoody. Its not rocket science. Personally I plan to drag out my old cold weather mountain biking gear and layer myself up and wear my white / gold coach’s shirt over the top. I’ll be nice and toasty warm without needing a jacket or coat.

The rest of you guys have something like 2 months to figure out wardrobe concerns…no excuses! Wear white and show support for the effort. Its going to be a huge game and we’ll need all the home field advantage we can muster up…

Go Jackets!

Chris:

Good thoughts. I agree wholeheartedly about Josh, and I agree Dwyer is a much more durable back, and I would rather have him than Moreno. But I will admit Moreno is very talented.

I cannot wait until Paul gets another recruiting class in here, or maybe 2 recruiting classes. If he can have quality depth at every position, the sky is the limit.

In regards to the pass defense, I am a little concerned about how we defend the short passing game, but one thing I am very happy about is the tackling. It looks much better this year than in previous years. Hopefully, the defense can cut down on the 3rd down conversions, and it will continue to improve as the year goes on.

GO JACKETS!!

Dwyer better than Moreno? Put down the LSD and back away slowly with your hands in the air. Your hallucinations are so bad that you are a danger to yourself and everyone around you. We’ll try to get you to detox before your OD kicks in and what little mind you have left is destroyed. There are programs available for functional imbeciles and we’ll get you enrolled if you’ll just stay away from the drugs.

Welcome back Chris, it’s been a while. This was a good blog. Last week Tech had a very large group of recruits in for the game, but we have not signed any for quite a while (in fact, we have lost two of the early signees). Do you know if we are close to signing anyone. Some of the other schools a getting way ahead of us. Thanks.

Sorry Chris. No way. Anybody with eyes can see that the Moreno kid is special. Dwyer is good, but he’s pedestrian when compared to Moreno.

The last position by position power rankings I saw have Moreno at #1 among RBs and Dwyer #21. It’s great to support your players but seeing this objectively Moreno is much more talented and brings more intangibles to the table.

To Carolina Jacket, no one has signed anyone. Signing day is not until February. This had to be a joke to even post since everyone knows this.

As for Moreno or Dwyer, I thought when PJ came in, that Dwyer would be an A-Back, not a B-Back. Moreno seems to be a lot of show. I think Alabama will make him a believer tonight.

Doug and other, Moreno plays for the legitimate #1 team in the country. If Dwyer did the same, he would be the #1 back as well.

i remember the hype that caleb king received coming out of high school - the next herschel walker. i don’t remember much hype about dwyer.

so, after one and a third year of football, who do you think is having a better college career?

By Chris Boggs

September 27, 2008 8:47 AM | Link to this

You can’t go wrong with either Dwyer or Moreno, obviously. Moreno reminds me alot of Tashard Choice in that he uses his vision and slashing to get yards. I just prefer the physical nature that Dwyer brings right now and I think its rare to see homerun speed in a back his size.

As far as “Ratings” go…remember Dwyer was a Parade All American and the best back in Georgia when he came out of high school. He didn’t get the Caleb King hype because he didn’t sign with UGA, but he is every bit as good and has the same pedigree.

All we can do is wait and see. There are going to be some games where GT opponents sell out to stop the dive play and there are going to be some plays where Moreno gets stopped as well.

If Moreno has a big game against Alabama’s defensive line today, then I’ll give him the edge against Dwyer.

ad, a man named Herschel is the best back out of Georgia, hands down! Chris-good blog. For sure, rest Nesbitt. I know PJ knows this, even though he wants to give him all the reps he can. What a confidence builder for Jaybo last week! Not just for him, but the coaches and the fans. He’ll be a great one as he grows. Moreno can be stopped, but so can Dwyer. I would rather have Dwyer in this O, though. Good gosh at the open field speed and punishment ability. Everyone saw how he was directing and using his blockers on that 88 yard run the other day. We’ll see how Moreno does today, against a good D. He didn’t fair so well against us last year or USC earlier. We need to go ahead and sell out that UM game to keep the orange away. Let’s go fans and go Jackets-

Moreno may be getting all the media coverage, but Dwyer is the better back and will have a better NFL career. Dwyer has the complete package, he’s big, he’s fast, and he’s a great teammate/leader. Moreno’s stats may be better, and the media may focus on him, but Dwyer’s my pick. He’s the one who really has the “IT” factor. You watch Dwyer play and you can just tell how much fun he’s having, how competitive he is, how he’ll do whatever it takes to help the team. He “gets it”, which seems like a very rare thing among great athletes these days.

GT45 I could not agree more with Mr. Walker being the best back-Yes maybe of all time when it comes to college. I think as the season goes we will see this offense click more and more. Dwyer is the more typical NFL running back at this time. I’m not taking anything away from Moreno as he is a very talented running back. As the next few weeks go we will see what type of back he is? Looking forward to the rest of the season. I think PJ will take this this team to the next level and bring respect back to the flats. Great article Chris. THWG

I agree with GT45 - get a good lead over Duke and rest Dwyer for the big games starting with Clemson. Yes, Walker was the best running back to play college in the state of Georgia. Dwyer vs. Moreno? - a toss-up right now. Time will tell. Stimulating and thought provoking article, Chris. I am enjoying reading such good articles and blogs in the AJC about Tech with the Dawgs enjoying such lofty national ranking. I hope UGA wins all their games - except against Tech. If the Jackets can’t win a National Championship, I’d just as soon see the other team from the state of Georgia do it. The Dawgs now have a classy coach, and I think the lack of class they have shown in the past, the taunting and poor sportsmanship which has turned me off, is over, at least I hope so. Also, I have found that most of their “bad fans” never even went to college. I wish Georgia well, at least for now.

This one’s not even close. Moreno. He finishes every run. His motor is running every play. Never takes a play off. He can pass block. He can catch passes out of the backfield. He’s a nightmare in space. He’s a lethal punt returner. In a nutshell guys, Moreno is the complete package. Right now Dwyer is a one dimensional back primarily because of the system he plays in. As for the NFL potential of both Moreno is being coached in all the ways that the NFL wants to see. Dwyer, to be perfectly honest will be hurt draft wise by the system he play’s in. Folks, any good back can run with the football. It is the back that can pass block, be a weapon in the passing game, and be multi-dimensional that the NFL looks for. I am not saying that Dwyer won’t be a player in the league. He will. But his draft position will not be nearly as high as Moreno. And I know I will get some heat for this next statement, but Moreno is doing it on the big stage, in the big games, and under a lot more pressure than is Dwyer. At leaswt for now. Just my opinion, but an educated one.

NoShow Moreno - 17 carries for 45 yds.

As for highlight reels, I’ve seen scores (that’s multiples of 20s for any mutts “reading” the blog) of backs leaping defenders and actually running after the leap. Nice leap, NoShow - try getting a few extra yards next time.

If you or the team thinks we are going to blow by Duke, you better have another drink and think about this. Duke is leading the ACC in passing and mopped up a sorry UVA team. We should beat Duke BUT it won’t be like years past. Plus, we did lose to Duke back in 2004 so sh-t does happen. Its thinking like this that creates “trap” games and upsets.

HMMM.. Dwyer or Moreno.. well trying not to be biased I really love Dwyers game, this kid is special. Its not easy to find a kid with the power to run over people and the speed to run by them and thats Dwyer.. I’ve never seen Moreno run over anybody. He maybe the more elusive and the more athletic back compared to Dwyer, but watching Dwyer is a pleasure. Now obviously Moreno had a better year last year playing against much better opponents than Tech. Plus Dwyer didnt see the field nearly as much as he should have, being Gailey didnt believe in playing his best players and cared more about seniority, but thats neither here nor there.

Moreno kinda reminds me of Reggie Bush while he was at USC. He’s going to get all the highlights and the hype because of his style of play and his personality on the field. He is more of a finesse player. He brings energy to the team when they need it the most. And if he gets off the edge, look out because the kid can fly. He can make your defense look silly and getting hit doesnt seem to phase him one bit. I love his game..

but..

Dwyer is very powerful and fast. I’d take Moreno in a foot race but not by much. You have to understand that Dwyer is not playing your average tailback position. He is the B-Back which means he gets hit every play, even when he doesnt touch the ball. If he can show his durabilty at that position and still produce, and continue to give Tech fans those dashing runs down the field, the new #21 will bring us as much enjoyment as the the one before.

UGA fans dont think just because he’s one of yours that a Tech player doesnt stand a chance being compared to him. Its a legitimate arguement and can really go either way.

Lets get ready for Duke Tech fans..Should be a good one..

GO JACKETS!!!

I’ve been watching GT and UGA for 50 years and I will tell you Knowshone is good, but I will take Dwyer over him. Moreno is too much show for me. He jumped over a play and then about a dozen more did the same thing the next week. But Moreno is billed as Superman. Neither will be good without blocking, so Moreno didn’t get any holes to sprint through against Bama. I’ve always said that Moreno isn’t big enough to go the season without getting hurt. He had 45 yards against GT last year and got hurt. He had about 35 against Bama, but UGA got their butts handed to them on both lines of scrimmage. I wonder when the next time the DAWGS break out the BLACK? I hope never. I told my wife before the game that the color of your jersey doesn’t mean a thing if the guy in front is bigger, faster and more talented. Ask Clemson. They tried the jersey color trick so many times that they must have a couple dozen different jerseys in the vault. UGA has a good chance of winning out. I’m curious to see if the flaws against Bama aren’t exploited by some good running teams—like Tech maybe? But they are still explosive and Stafford has a great arm.

By Go Ahead

Go ahead and gloat over the whipping that UGA took from Alabama. I would love to see you ACC pretenders schedule the likes of USC, ASU, ‘Bama, Tennessee, Florida, Auburn and LSU. Instead it is juggernaut teams such as Jax, Virginia, Duke, Gardner-Webb (ha!) and NC State that you have placed on your schedule. That being stated, GT has a very good coach who is able to get fired up on the sideline, instill discipline and bring his team to a game with a plan to WIN; I’d sure like to see him at Georgia instead of Richt. I seriously doubt that Richt would jump up and down even if he stepped on a fire ant mound on the sideline!! Let’s see how GT handles Clemson (“Bear” in mind how ‘Bama dealt with them) and then perhaps we’ll have something to discuss. Until then I would not be talking a lot of smack about UGA since GT has not managed to beat them in nearly a decade. I know how badly you Techsters want to beat UGA and I’ll admit that it is possible this year but you’ll need to bring everything to do it. Final thought for you GT gloaters: consider how the game might have turned out if Alabama had to take away some of their very key players due to injury. See you on 11/29.

Dwyer is BIGGER and I think he is faster, although it would be hard to verify. Nobody is going to give you the real deal on 40 yard times anyway. They are both very good football players. I would think that Moreno is a little overrated as he plays for the number 1 bulldawgs…. Oh, I’m sorry, they get beat down by the tide. The number 11 bulldawgs….

1) So you’d basically sit our starting QB for the better part of two straight games AFTER he just sat for 3.5 quarters of a game and sat through an off week? As Head Coach would you say, “Here you Josh. Take the ball as the starter vs Clemson on the road. I know you haven’t seen any meaningful game action in 5 weeks but I think you’ll adjust to the speed of the Clemson defense just fine.” Please.

2) I agree but you fail to mention the biggest reason why Dwyer would be/is the better back. He can fit in and play the primary offensive weapon position in nearly any system. The A-Back in Johnson’s system is far from primary.

3) I agree. I think our pass defense will be just fine. Our rush did lose technique a few times against MSU’s backup QB but that will get corrected.

4) I agree that fans should at least attempt to participate in the “White Out” but that dnes’t change the fact that it is a REALLY bad idea. I can name two dozen people I know who go to Thursday night games straight from work in their suits. No to mention the fact that Miami will be the team wearing white….not Tech. A “Black Out” or “Gold Rush” would make more sense depending on which jersey the guys wear….dark blue or gold.

“Go Ahead”…..I call FOUL!!!

Once again a Georgia fan comes onto a Tech blog and throws out the “you shouldn’t talk smack…lets see how good you’d do against Bama….we’ll see how good you are when you play Clemson” crap. It is GEORGIA FANS that drew first blood on this blog and when your team got the arses handed to them tonight Tech fans responded in kind. Go back and read the pre-Bama beating posts of how Moreno is the greatest thing since sliced bread and how Tech fans are delusional. So it should only be expected that when attacked Tech fans will respond…and pile on after all the wind got pulled from your sails by Bama.

So don’t come on a Tech blog and comment about Tech fans gloating and our weak schedule when it is your comrades that started it. It would be better to man-up and post an apology on behalf of those UGA fans who posted before the Bama game for their arrogance. You’d get more respet and to be honest of more UGA fans actually behaved in a mature manner such as that it would do more positive for the relationship between these two fanbases than anything else. Did anyone notice that Knowshon cut his hair into a mohawk the week after a bunch of GT players did vs. Miss St? I watched the Miss St game and Dwyer and Nesbitt (among others) all had their hair done into mohawks and they look like huge B.A.’s, but then I watched the UGA Bama game and saw Knowshon’s hair done into a mohawk too and couldn’t help but think that Knowshon blatantly stole Dwyer’s idea.

As far as who the more talented back is, I would have to say Dwyer by a fraction. I think Knowshon is very comparable to Reggie Bush in their running styles, but Knowshon is missing that breakaway speed that Reggie has. I think Dwyer may be just a hair faster than Knowshon even though he weighs 21 lbs. heavier. That is why Dwyer is the better back, the combo of speed and power.

Dwyer is a better running back.

Moreno is a better dancer.

Seriously, Dwyer is bigger, stronger,& faster. He can run over you or past you. He can pass block, catch, return kicks. He is just an all around good athelete. He is perfect for our offense & his style should translate well to the NFL.

Moreno is small & shifty. He reminds me of Cadillac Williams. He has a great motor, but with all that jukin’ & jivin’ he is also an injury waiting to happen.

UGa fans can keep Soldier Boy, I would MUCH rather have Dwyer.

By Joe Bling

September 28, 2008 9:16 PM | Link to this

The Dwyer vs. Moreno question is a good one. They are very different styles of running back, and both are very good. I just don’t think either one is special. Both Tech and UGA have had backs just as good in fairly recent years. Neither is blessed with overwhelming speed or quicks, and neither can run over people. That said, they are both young and will continue to develop, and both of them help their respective teams in big ways. But both also have a tendency to disappear in some games. Right now I think Dwyer has more potential as an NFL back because of his size, but who knows?

I really don’t understand the hype that Moreno gets. Didn’t anybody notice that as soon as he jumped over that guy he got tackled? And that leap into the end zone was nice but wasn’t that big a deal – certainly nowhere near Herschel or Hearst status. This has been a good discussion, but I guess the funniest part was when exNFLplayer threw out that Moreno, as opposed to Dwyer, gets it done on the “big stage”. Um, you might have waited a few hours before hitting “Post” on that one, dude. What an a$$-clown. Major VDAP.

Wow…pointing out typos and back to the lame “you can’t even sellout your own stadium” argument? Are you kidding me? Why not just post “nanny nanny boo boo”? I offer you the perfect opportunity to be a mature man and carry the torch of your school with dignity on a Georgia Tech blog and instead you act like you graduated from high school three years ago yet still cruise the parking lot at 7:30 AM in your truck with Ludacris blasting before you’re off to work. Man, I actually thought you’d come through. But in typical fashion I over estimated yet another dog.

As for the delay in my response to your questioning I apologize. We attend services on Sunday evenings and just returned home about 45 minutes ago.

Have a nice evening Mr. Wooderson.

Official school colors are old gold and white.

No mention of navy or black, but these have both been used as trim colors.

White out or gold out make the most sense, but can we get rid of those mustard pants? Sorry, I just had to take one more poke at the pants….I can live with them wearing chartreuse as long as we play like we played against MSU.

Go Jackets!!

Tech Forever - We wear white jerseys for home games this year (as in previous years before Chan) with gold pants. Road games have white jerseys with white pants.

Just as I thought!! Tech Forever evades the question! Yes, UGA dropped a game big time but there were no empty seats.

Please explain why your fans cannot fill up your small stadium, Tech Forever. Please answer the question if you have the courage.

We have answered the stadium question numerous times, yet I will answer it once again since this seems to be such a crucial part of your football life. Tech only has about 18,000 students (grad and undergrad) a year. UGA has more than twice this amount. I’ll do the math for you, that means UGA has more students to fill up a stadium. When Tech alumni graduate, we spread all over the country and the world! We have gigantic alumni bases in Washington DC working on defense contracting and a huge base out in California. Anywhere there is tech research and military contracting, we are there. This dilutes our alumni population in Atlanta. Conversely, most UGA alumni end up liviong in Georgia because they are either too afraid to try something new, or can’t get out. We actually have more important things to do then road trip every single weekend for football, but that doesn’t mean we lack the passion. I haven’t even started to mention all the Georgia citizens that have never stepped foot in a college classroom, yet cheer for UGA like it’s their life’s sole meaning. I went to high school in south Georgia, and upon returning to that area during my freshman year (about 9 years ago), I invited someone from my graduating class to come visit Atlanta. His response was “Are you crazy? They have 3 laned roads up there!” You all can keep your ignorant fans that are afraid to branch out and try something new. Now, if you want to trash Georgia Tech, at least find an arguement that holds merit - as opposed to talking about a stadium. Oh, wait, you won’t find an arguement against Georgia Tech that holds merit - my mistake!

exNFLplayer Dwyer is a B-back in CPJ’s offense, meaning he runs straight up the middle on most plays. He also can go out for a pass or take a pitch. Are you telling me that those are skills that the NFL doesn’t care about? Right… What the NFL want is a guy that can line up in the I-formation, run up the middle, take a pitch to the outside or go our for a pass. Oh wait…

Knowshon is extremely talented but his NFL career will be short lived and injury plagued once he runs into to talented professional defenses. Running at 110% at all times isn’t always a good thing either.

Why not have a “gold out” for the Miami game?? It’s not PC to wear white after Labor Day (or so my wife says)…

Newsflash to Tech fans: Georgia Tech did not beat Georgia on Saturday. The University of Alabama beat Georgia on Saturday. You are not Alabama (understatement of the century). You are not Tennessee (in other news, the sky is blue). You are not even lowly South Carolina (now that’s pathetic). You are not any of the teams that have beaten Georgia in the past 7 years. You are NOBODY. You are Georgia Tech and you are making fools of yourselves popping off at the mouth when some other team beats Georgia. It wreaks of desperation. You have nothing to say to Georgia until you beat them yourselves. Not a single word. Every year we hear this out of you clowns after Georgia drops an SEC game. Every single year the Techies get all giddy with excitement like they have accomplished something. You have accomplished nothing. You are nothing. Good day.

Judging from UGA’s offensive line, I think UGA will lose at least 1 more games. I think their offense played well, they just got man handled. Bama was simply the better team. Look for the LSU game to be a loss for 2 reasons. 1st LSU at home..really…they came back against Auburn and gave them a spanking. 2nd Miles keep his D-line fresh consistently. UGA will have a hard time on offense with consistent pressure on Stafford. If Moreno runs to the sides he could make some big plays (could), but I wouldn’t look for him to be an impact player running up the middle.

It’s funny, I read a great parody blog about Russia attacking the University of Georgia and there was a line about UGA fans sitting around, crying into their beers and one of them says “At least Tech sucks.” I think you are that guy in real life. Left over black-out makeup running down your cheeks into you warm Natty Light. Yuck…

I give UGA fans credit, some of you guys are nuts about football. Your team can be down by 5 scores and if ESPN puts a camera in your face, you scream, bark and hold up the ol’ #1 sign. I would say all the “we’ll get our revenge in the SEC championship game on the way to a National Championship” talk is silly, but you guys might be right after all. But that would involve an admission that the SEC is not the superhuman powerhouse conference that it has been made out to be. Despite all the weakness that showed up Saturday night, I don’t see that many serious challengers left on UGA schedule. UT and AU are horrible, LSU and UF don’t look so hot and I don’t know what to say about Vandy and UK as neither team has face a substantial challenge yet. I’d expect UF to put up a big fight due to the rivalry factor and LSU has found ways to win. That leaves GT. You are correct; it was ‘Bama that beat UGA, not GT. GT fans have nothing to brag about to UGA fans (yet). But GT fans living in Georgia hear nauseating amounts of boasting from the sidewalk alumni, so it puts a smile on their faces to see the blowhards humbled. We’ll see in November, but no SEC team has manhandled Miss St’s defense the way GT did with a backup true freshman QB running the same simple plays over and over again with almost no passing. CJP’s offense punishes speed without discipline. Judging by the way Bama’s offense rolled and UGA racked up penalties, discipline is poor at UGA.

By For Go Ahead,

Tech always gets great fan support for its away games indicative of the fact that its graduates get jobs all over the US and the world. Obviously not as many Tech grads remain in GA as UGA grads who are twice as numerous to begin with.

Based on Dawg fans’ horrible behavior towards visiting fans in Athens, they would be well advised to decrease the size of its stadium thereby reducing the number of trashy rednecks who flock there. They are a disgrace to the good name of the state of Georgia and the classical name of Athens.

Leaving Knowshon comparisons out of it, I just think Jonathan Dwyer is a great back. You don’t know how Tech will fare against Duke, but I hope we’ll do well enough that a lot of guys will get playing time. At least as important, let there be a lot of play-to-play substituting, so that we’ll keep fresh legs in there all the time. Does Paul Johnson have enough depth on both sides of the ball to do that?

Sorry there, Techies. I guess I hit a sore spot with you fans. It just makes me sort of wince when the game camera pans out over your colossal (heh heh) stadium on game day. There really is no excuse for all of the empty seats and you know it. What is even more pathetic is the fact that the fans who do show up offer nothing more than a glorified golf clap whenever anything good happens down on the field. The fans are otherwise oblivious to the game (except for the inebriated, yellow-haired student section, of course) and somehow seem compelled to show up just because they have been privileged enough to graduate from such an ‘elite’ school. Sound familiar? I have been to several GT games and you know it is a fact. Trust me, most GT fans have no concept of the game and frankly do not care. Why? I guess it’s because of all the extremely wealthy engineers who have the GT sheep skin!! Hey - when is the last time that you met a wealthy engineer? What’s the matter - does a bee have your tongue? Bottom line - UGA will see you chaps on 11/29 and you’d better be ready for it. You ‘elite’, wealthy engineers didn’t hire Pajama Boy just to improve your ACC standing; no sir, you hired him in the hopes that you might finally beat that other school over there in Athens. Good luck in November!

Go Ahead — Given that engineers are so penurious, how is it that GT is half the size of UGA and nearly 100 years younger, but has three times the endowment?

Moreover, how do you know how wealthy the engineering grads you meet are? You appear to have wealth confused with lifestyle, which isn’t surprising. I’m much more surprised by substance in the UGA fan base than by lack of it.
