Kelly excited by new role

I spoke this morning with Charles Kelly, who is shifting from special teams coach to cornerbacks coach at Georgia Tech. “I’m excited about getting back to [the position] where I spent a lot of my career,” said Kelly, who walked on as a defensive back at Auburn and coached the position at Jacksonville State and Nicholls State and as a graduate assistant at Auburn.

I thought Kelly was a great fit in the special teams role, where you want a guy with his emotions-on-his-sleeve-and-face-and-every-inch-of-his-body personality. But I think he’ll be successful with the corners, too.

Kelly will be recruiting part of southwest Georgia, including Muscogee County (the Columbus area). As he did in the past, he’ll recruit the Florida Panhandle and south Alabama, probably everything south of Birmingham. Plus, he’ll get into Louisiana to go after specifically targeted players.

The past few weeks have been a challenge, with Kelly and Giff Smith and Brian Jean-Mary working on a staff where they knew their colleagues would soon be leaving.

“It’s a business, and you’ve got to move on, but it doesn’t make it any easier for the feeling you’ve got for the people you work with,” Kelly said.

So, while I am happy for the guys who are staying, I will end with a thought for Joe D’Alessandris, John Bond, Buddy Geis, Jeep Hunter, Curtis Modkins and Jon Tenuta. Good luck to all of them, and may they find good jobs quickly.

I wish GT spooned like my dawgs QB’s because I could get some of their recruits.

I was hoping Giff Smith was leaving too, because he was responsible for GT having a better recruiting class last year than my beloved dawgs.

I’m scared of this PJ guy, he makes me not want to ever come out of our Transgender bathrooms here at UGA!

I was concerned by the moving of Kelly to DB from special teams, until I read how good Navy’s special teams have been under the new guy. Plus, if Kelly can have an impact on the secondary like he did on special teams, the defense will get even better than it was under Tenuta. With them retaining Giff Smith at D-line coach and Jean-Mary at LB coach, plus having a new coordinator that has a similar attacking style as Tenuta did, seems GT will take what they were good at up front and add some better coverage. Good idea.

Some coach could put a real good staff together with ex-Tech assistants available starting with the ones above Bond, Modkins, Hunter, Alessandris, Geis, Tenuta…and the EX-Duke staff members Roof, O’brien and Kelley. Matter of fact if I were a head coach I would be contacting those guys because if there was a problem at Tech in the last 7 years (after Fridge) it was in offensive scheme primarily due to top management not lower or middle management. Hopefully like previous Tech coaches they are leaving on good terms and will find as good if not better opportunities.

Blackdawg, PJ does sound like the real deal. Time will tell. Change is definitely good and I am excited. I look for a big upset in his first year with a win at UGA. It will be a double whammy. Keeps UGA from tying the record for most consecutive wins in the series (GT owns that at 8) and keeps UGA from going to the BCS Championship game!!!

john-

Keep dreaming. Your team just got blown out by Fresno State in your bowl game and you are already awarding next years victory against UGA. Based on a coach who has never won anything at the 1A level. I think its great he beat the other service acadamies and that he was a winner at 1AA level but get real.

Try to be logical. GT lost to a mediocre team from a 2nd rate conference - by 12 points!! Wasn’t even close. Georgia beat the champion of that conference by 31 points. You don’t have to be an engineer to do that math.

Scores of actual games mean nothing. The only thing that counts is wins and losses. Please Headknocker Georgia only beat us Tech by 14, so what does that mean….that you guys are only 2 points better than Fresno State?

SMU coaching position still available? If I’m in Management I hire all the unemployed former Tech football assistants and assemble a staff even if an offensive guy has to move to defense. Why? They all have experience at an academic institution and play by the rules. At the same time they have worked for Gailey and O’leary and other coaches as well. Some have pro experience and there are some really good recruiters in that bunch. SMU is the place.

I think Blackdawg and yellowblood are one in the same and if you are not - you guys need to meet up in athens, do your tickle piles and spooning over there and stay off the computer. Headknocker, just a couple of calls and plays in the last few games would have turned the score opposite in the Tech/Ga game. Don’t get so high and mighty that you think you beat the world. A few calls and plays in your own scehdule this year alone would have put you at two, maybe three more losses. don’t count your chickens before they hatch - next year we all start over with the same W/L record - 0/0. Inuries, weather, all play a part in football. We had 7 players injured at one time in Boise, an interim coach the players knew was not coming back and alot of uncertainty. 2008 will be different for us at Tech - better for sure because it appears one thing CPJ knows - how to beat a rival.

By headknocker

The point is the same. Thinking teck will start winning the tough games right away is a delusion. I am not naive enough to think that they won’t be greatly improved. The two worst things to happen to UGA in the past 7 years is when Reggie Ball graduated and when you fired Chan. Johnson MIGHT be able to make the series a real challenge again. What I am saying is that if you fall into the same old pattern of thinking that everything is going to change now because THIS coach is a genius. Hell, Chan was a genius when you hired him, remember! Try to keep your expectations realistic and based on what has happened on the field, not is the papers or in some AD’s office somewhere. It would be great if this rivalry became competitive again.

Blackdawg- I’d rather spoon your Mother, just like I did your sister!

Buzz Belle-

You need to stop being so reasonable, you will get banned by your Tech brethren. Good teams find a way to win. Under Richt the Dawgs have more often found a way to pull the game off. Teck, under Gailey, seemed to find a way to loose to UGA. I’m still laughing over watching Reggie Ball spike the ball on 4th down. I’m not counting the chickens, I’m making fun of your chickens. Regardless of the circumstances of the Coach, etc… your team’s performance on the blue tundra of Boise was pathetic. I think it is quite a stretch by Joe to think that team I saw lose in Boise is somehow going to get good enough to beat the UGA team I watched the second half of the season (this team is so young it makes me all tingly to think about them, and I don’t mean spooning). The next 2 years are going to be UNBELIEVABLE for UGA fans.

Headnocker,

You’re both right and wrong. You’re right about the fact that we’re delusional to say that GT is all of a sudden going to go 12-2. That might be overstretching it. I’m guessing 9-4 with at least three wins in November and a bowl win. His new recruiting, albeit in his system, is not yet bringing in the Tim Tebows and Pat Whites (maybe Coley) of the world.

But, you’re wrong about the fact that GT “won’t start winning the tough games.” Our problem has not been winning tough games (except for that pesky one in November).

Our problem has been losing to Duke, UNC, and Fresno State. That’s coaching. Pure and simple. I think Johnson will do for us what Richt has done for UGA: help us to win the games where we play horrible against lesser teams. He’s a motivator. Motivated teams don’t lose to crappy teams. Period!

Do you folks not know the difference between the words “loose” and “lose”? I see “loose” used in place of the correct word “lose” all the time. What has happened to our english skills? Here are the correct usages for those afflicted by this problem:

The Georgia Tech receiver got LOOSE from the Georgia pass coverage.

Georgia will LOSE to Georgia Tech in football real soon.

I hope this helps. GO JACKETS!!

Props to UGA for their nice bowl win and their streak vs. GT. They made the plays they had to make.

However, a reality check is in order. UGA’s last five victories over GT haven’t exactly been blow-outs in spite of Gailey and Ball. I know for sure that a lot of the UGA faithful were very worried when Morgan Burnett picked up that botched lateral and headed for the end zone. I was sitting with them… I have many friends who are classy UGA fans. The difference in the last five games hasn’t been all that great given UGA’s talent and coaching advantages. We’ll see what Coach Johnson can do.

First to Blackdawg You have to stay in character. If you are going to play the game with yellowblood you first need to take that act to the uga blog not over here. Matt “Giving the Staff” and yellowblood have definitely provided the necessary material and motivation to work with so use it but on the uga blog. If you want to make a real point, switch the name you are posting under.

To the Rest of the Tech Faithful I have to agree with Navigator, let’s not get carried away here. I really like the new hire and I expect CPJ to have some immediate success as the cupboard is not bare.

But let’s be reasonable, uga will be competing for a NC next year whether we want to admit it or not. They are loaded and CMR has done a good job. I do think he may be returning to his Miami/FSU roots and would not be surprised to see uga really become Thug U. He is encouraging the behvior.

While I agree that emotion is anecessary part at this level, one of CCG’s major shortfall’s, too much of a good thing will bite you in the arse. If the dawgs don’t temper the attitude in the off season, expect personnel issues to really begin to rise. We have already seen off season issues at uga. I predict them to really rise this year. Grades will slip and incidents will increase. CMR’s squeeky, clean image will falter.

My prediction is that uga will tie that record 8 next year, but I will still stand behind the hire of CPJ. We will see real improvement. With the exception of Taylor, the personnel we already have will suit The System. Fortuenately the athletes that will qualify to play at Tech will tend to be better high school students and hopefully more coachable and better college students as well.

Thanks to all of you who keep restating my point. GT has all the talent and facilities of most good programs but they still find a way to lose (not loose) games.I didn’t think that english proficiency was a requirement at Teck. That has been their pattern for the past several years. I’m worried about Teck every year because they always seem to muster their strongest effort against UGA. It is never a pushover. All you GT fans “guessing” what the bees will do this season is just that, “guessing”. Johhson is a gamble. He won at different levels of competition, which makes him a good gamble, but he has never won at the top level of NCAA or ACC competition. The excitement level for Gailey when you hired him was just as high as it is now. I hope that all you dreamers get your wish, but I think you’re (not your) in for a longer haul than you think. It is really going to take some time for this new offensive system to settle in & find the correct personell. You will be lucky to win 6 games next year. The year after that is a different story, depending of schedule, an adequate option should be able to win 8 or more games in the ACC.

By GT

January 4, 2008 10:05 AM | Link to this

Unfortunately, I have to agree with the Dawg fans here. No way GT competes with UGA in the foreseeable future. My guess is it takes PJ 4-5 years to make it to the same 7-5 win-loss ratio as Chan. Too much defensive speed in the ACC for the option to work. You are kidding yourselves if you believe any receiver or RB worth their salt with any ambition to play beyond college will attend GT. Throw in the academic restrictions for GT and BOOM- continued mediocrity on the field.

Navigator - don’t get angry. With me the feeling is the last few games w/Ga has been a very few plays that made the difference. I feel like with CPJ that difference can be corrected. You are right in that Ga. has a much better team (particularly the last half of the season)and will be looking to the NC. That is where Ga. always gets into trouble though, they look past the teams they should beat and lose. Tech has hurt Ga. in the past in their quest - we can easily do so again. Last game of the season, they will be looking ahead to bowl games and they will underestimate us. Along with a new coach, new off style, things can get crazy. MisterT has is dead on in his 4th paragraph. Look at the blogs - Ga. lets it all go to their head and Tech can and will humble them. That’s when I sit back and smile with my glass of wine and watch them go beserk because they can’t handle it. Go Jackets and THWG

I did show back up. It was the holidays and I didn’t post much. If I was scared to be wrong I would keep changing my name the way so many others do. I can eat crow when I’m wrong. I was wrong. Rad seems like he had his eye on Johnson all along and got the man he wanted. I didn’t think you would be able to afford him with the buyout on Gailey. My point is the same though- Johnson MAY be a good coach, but he might be a bust. From my point of view, as a GA fan, he will doubtless be tough competition on the field and in recruiting. But I still don’t think it will matter. Georgia has a lot of momentum, they are recruiting strong, and I disagree with Belle that they have gotten in the habit of looking past anyone. If that isn’t the pot calling the kettle black. Teck is FAMOUS for losing to the teams they should beat. Either way, it is going to take more than a few games to tell. Even good teams have difficulty running the option effectivly. It is all about timing and feel and will take more than a couple live scrimmages to get it right. You won’t win right away. I must be reading different blogs than you. Most of what I see Georgia fans posting indicates that the most you can aim for is a conference championship. If you win the SEC the BCS is forced to consider you for the championship game. If Georgia takes care of business in the strongest conference, with one of the toughest schedules, even you Teck imbeciles will have to agree that they are NC material. First things first though, you have to play the games.

Yeah- historically speaking Teck loses to teams they should beat and beats teams they should lose to. Georgia lost to SC early in the season with a very young team. It was an ugly game and it was clear the offense was not working well. I don’t think any UGA fan is trying to deny that. They also lost to a mediocre UT. After that they were on fire. It’s called growing up, the dogs did some of that this year. I wish GT would have gotten the Boise Tundra Bowl bid so Fresno State could have taken them to the woodshed.

headknocker:

Well, your first point (published article) was that nobody wanted the Tech coaching job…You were wrong. Your second point (published article) was PJ may or may not work out…Get back to us. Wow, so insightful

It may snow here tomorrow…Get back to us. The Dow may fall 500 points tomorrow…Get back to us. UGA may lose to Steve Superior and Fulmer again next year…Get back to us.

The thing about you Dawg Fans (and AJC Columnists) is you can’t give Tech credit for doing ANYTHING right. Tech has an NCAA-recognized National Championship since UGA’s, but every Dawg Fan I know “can’t accept it as a FACT”. Why??? Because it hurts so bad to admit the Jackets went undefeated in 1990 and UGA hasn’t been able to match that despite their self-proclaimed “huge recruiting and momentum” going into next year…Just like it was last year? Remember???

Gailey and his pet project Reggie Ball were the best UGA coach/player duo to be coaching/playing for another team in the history of the GT/UGA rivalry. Ball is GONE. Gailey is now GONE. Getting rid of Gailey, despite his buyout, was the RIGHT thing to do. Pursuing and landing Johnson was the RIGHT thing to do. Not begging Tenuta to stick around was the RIGHT thing to do.

Like it or not, DRad and GT Athletics are doing the things necessary to put some fire back into a program that was almost single-handedly destroyed in 6 years under Chandler Gailey. So give credit where it’s due.

Tech will never be able to offer a backwoods kid the easy way out ACADEMICALLY like UGA routinely does with degrees in Native American Basketweaving, Underwater BB Stacking and Turd Rasslin’ at the Athens Water Works…But that’s the way it should be. State-supported academic institutions should ALWAYS place academics and education above athletics — otherwise, just turn it into a professional team and close the school.

But as President Adams has stated on multiple occasions: “Athletics is MORE IMPORTANT at UGA than Academics”. That should be no surprise when considering his target audience is made up of mostly trash-talking toothless football fans who cry themselves to sleep at night whenever UGA loses a football game.

UGA will always “out-recruit” GT because lower acceptance standards and a broader curriculum offering are FACTS, not excuses. And the Gailey years notwithstanding, it’s been a pretty competitive series in the past. ALL of the Dawg Fans posting anywhere and everywhere that “GT will never beat UGA again in football” is precisely where Johnson wants to be…The annual underdog. Ask Army and Air Force if they still considered him the annual underdog before he left Navy…

That’s what will make GT’s next win over UGA so much more delightful — Nobody at UGA will be expecting it. And coming at the end of the year, it will break hearts in Athens. Nobody knows when it will happen…But you can bet that it WILL and DRad and GT are doing the things necessary to get there (again).

And before you refer to others as imbeciles, learn to spell TECH correctly. Oh, I almost forgot…Your co-worker Terence Moore held a party at his blog for Whiney Dogs. Not surprisingly, nearly everyone who showed up and posted was a Whiney Dog Fan. LOL

By GT Man

I think that UGA will be among perhaps 10 teams with a strong chance at a NC next year. There also is usually a team or two that comes out of nowhere to contend. Regardless, UGA has a good shot. If things fall their way, they have the talent to get there. A rash of injuries, an off game against the wrong opponent, A game where your opponent can do no wrong, a loss of team chemistry, or unlucky breaks can work against getting to the NC game. It hits most of the contenders every year (all of them this year), so even if you are an early favorite to go to the NC game, it is a long season and every game is a land mine. If UGA goes undefeated, they are a shoe-in for the NC game with their schedule next year. In addition to their division opponents, they get LSU, Auburn, and Alabama from the SEC West and also play Arizona State and GT (of course). It would be impossible to not go to the NC game to go undefeated with that schedule. Realistically, the odds of going undefeated with that schedule is pretty low, but if everything falls into place, who knows?

As far as my Jackets go, the blue rug bowl is meaningless in terms of what happens next season. It was galling to see our D get gashed like a bad HS team, but these types of things are more likely to happen in bowl games where both teams have not played in 5 or 6 weeks. One team usually bounces back from the layoff better than the other. That is why I hate bowl games and wish there was a playoff. But next season is a clean slate with a new coach and system, but also completely unpredictable as far as win/loss record goes. I would not be surprised if we fell anywhere between 5-7 and 8-4, depending on how well we adjust to the new system and coaches, but would be very surprised if we did worse or better than that. Here’s to hoping I get a surprise on the positive end of the scale.

Nobody (at least no rational person) thinks that Tech will be a world-beater right off the bat with the new staff. We do, however, think that we have good talent here that has simply been mismanaged, underdeveloped, underused, or that has simply underperformed. The new staff has a history of getting absolutely every single ounce of effort and utilizing every shred of talent of every player on the field and doing well against more talented opposition.

We don’t really seem to be outmanned or overmatched on the field. It seems to be more that we’re out-schemed by the opposing coaches on offense. Predictable, boring, repetitive, etc. CPJ’s offense is anything but predictable.

Tech seems to be fixated on spooning and humping. If that is the case then Mathew Stafford and the rest of the UGA team are going to fold over the Yellow Jackets next year and hump their arses like the have never been humped before. And that is saying a lot because I have been watching Tech for a long time - and pulling for their opponents - and I have seen tech take it up the old arse countless times including The Silicon Valley Football Classic by Fresno State, The Emerald Nut Bowl by Utah, and not the Roady’s Truck Stop Humanitarian Bowl by Fresno State yet again. I am surprised half your team is not pregnant based on the way they play.

CHris- What makes you think we will get the talent? Unfortunately, more recruits have left since PJ was hired than have committed. Meanwhile, the rest of the ACC has, for the most part, had a pretty strong recruiting class. From what I hear, several current players will request waivers for transfers. In addition to having a system unfavorable to recruting, the culture of GT is also a problem- it an engineering school. It doesn’t offer the wide range of curriculum like UGA or NC State. It has harder academic requirements which they will not compromise on the Hill. I have had season tickets for eight years and will not renew. I want to sacrifice a whole Saturday to watch the triple option?? NOT! I would rather go to my local high school on Friday night. They should have hired Muschamp (Texas got it right) or Hatcher!!

After watching that crap last night, GT should have won every ACC game last year, even B.C. We can win every conference game in 2008. The ACC needs a dominate team to step up. We have the talent to win the ACC the last two years, but haven’t. VT will always be a 10-15th rank team. Beamer get’s the Vick players, but he’s not a good enough coach to ever win the National Championship. Like the announcers said last night, run the freaking ball where you’re having success, then they pass 3 times and punt. I always thought Beamer was a good coach, but not anymore. The good thing is he’ll always be VT’s coach.

I think CPJ can win the ACC with our current talent if the players buy into his system, which may or may not happen. Remember what happen to Bobby Ross, the returning players didn’t buy into his system till 2.5 years later.

GT that’s too bad. I’d rather watch the triple option than A.J. Suggs, Reggie Ball, and Taylor Bennett throw the ball out of bounds 10 times every freaking ball game (some even on 4th down) year after year. One game in six years (Syracuse) did the offense look good, and you’re using that as a reason not to renew. You lack common sense.

OK so we might not get to see Calvin Johnson catch 2 passes in our most important games (ACC championship, UGA, etc…) anymore, but I like the idea of Josh Nesbitt running the option, instead of lining up in the shootgun only to run the ball up the middle every snap.

Please take your Chan Gailey (I like QB’s who can’t complete more than 50% of their passes) loving fair weather butt to your local H.S. games then.

You’ll regret you’re decision to not renew.

ever wonder why the dogs have such rabbid fans and tech doesnt? dog fans usually havent made it in life so they look for something that will make them feel good about themselves. look at their bull dog. everybody loves a dog. especially an ugly bull dog. you just want to hug it and play with it. on the other hand, tech fans dont need a team to make them feel good about themselves because they have probably made it in life. we dont need a symble to live by. but maybe we should. i like buzz. but its not something you can sell to the public to grab hold of. even our fine looking car is not enough. i think we should keep buzz and the car, but get another symble to reprsent us. something that everybody can get a hold of and love it. maybe we need to become a little more redneck. rednecks know how to have fun and party. we need to be more like zz top, charlie daniels. what we need is a really bad pickup truck. a new ramblin wreck. a monster truck,a 53 mercurey with flames. be a greaser. after all, doesnt it say i’m a ramblin wreck from ga tech. maybe we need that college bell on the feild. sounding out loud and proud. to get others to love tech the way we do, we need attention. well, that attention is winning, and winning most of the time. be good all the time. thats what we need to get the right kind of fans.

Sure were a lot of “bowl teams” this year playing football without their head coaches. Between that and sorry match ups like the Rose and Sugar this year sucks. The system leaves it wide open for conartist. College football had become more like politics than sports. I wonder if the publications don’t like it that way. ESPN becomes a participate instead of an observer, AJC sends writers to that network so they can have a voice. Power plays by the press have huge effects on the game. A playoff takes a lot of this leverage away from the press. Wonder why we don’t have a playoff?

Tech fan - What I notice here in Marietta is that when Tech is winning, you see GT bumper stickers, flags and jackets everywhere. Then once reality shows up and they start sucking, all of the sudden the colors and support disappear. And to the blogger who quoted Mike Adams as saying athletics are more important than academics at UGA, please site your source. I don’t believe you can. Anybody who understands academics knows that a university is made up of many colleges. Some are better than others. Tech thrives in some areas, UGA in others. To insinuate that the ball players at Tech are more intelligent than the ones at Georgia is very uninformed. But whatever. Good luck with the new hire. Maybe you guys will be able to actually sell out a few more ball games.

The person who stated that Tech doesn’t recruit the athletes who end up playing at UGA because of academic requirements is kidding himself. You don’t honestly think that Tech would have taken a Knowshown Moreno if he wanted to go to Tech??? Puh freaking leaz. The fact is that the 4 and 5 star recruits don’t want to go to Tech because they don’t want to lose year after year in an inferior confernce. How is that FACT for ya??

UGA DOES LOOK EXTREMELY GOOD AND POISED FOR THE NC THIS UPCOMING YEAR. HOWEVER, GIVEN THE FACT THAT CPJ HAS WON EVERYWHERE THAT HE HAS COACHED, HOW CAN WE JUST COMPLETELY ELIMINATE GEORGIA TECH OUT OF THE NC PICTURE? MAYBE NOT THIS YEAR BUT WITHIN THE NEXT FEW. I REALIZE THAT GEORGIA SOUTHERN IS ONLY A 1-AA UNIVERSITY, BUT HE DID TAKE THEM TO TWO NC GAMES AND WON BOTH OF THEM, BUT I BELIEVE THAT IT IS POSSIBLE FOR GEORGIA TECH TO WIN A NC WITHIN THE NEXT THREE YEARS!!! KEEP IN MIND HE ALSO TURNED AN 0-11 NAVY PROGRAM INTO A CONSISTENT EIGHT WIN TEAM EVERY YEAR——-N-A-V-Y!!!!!

Of course I am a Jackets fan (class of 1994). I am extremely dissapointed with this hire though. What other schools were after PJ- Duke and SMU!! It’s sure a lot of fun to play the ol’ what will happen next year game. That’s a game nobody wins, ‘cause nobody remembers what you said 9 months ago. So — here’s my prediction:

UGA, with a great bunch of athletes, and a good coach go 10-0 on the year and that includes beating Tech at Athens 38-24, goes on to win the SEC championship Tech with a new good coach and a pretty good set of athletes, goes 9-1 on the year, winning the ACC but losing to the dogs (above). Tech loses the ACC championship to BC. UGA goes to the BCS Championship and whips Michigan 49-14. Tech goes to gator Bowl and ekes out a win over Rutgers.

Georgia Tech hasn’t beat UGA in Athens in over 30 years now consecutively. It hasn’t again. Georgia Tech now doesn’t have a Winning Record Even in Men’s Basketball, and now Georgia Tech plays nothing but Conference Games the entire rest of the season except for 1 game at the end against unranked Connecticut. Good Luck.

Georgia has twice as many wins as losses at 8-4, unlike Tech who does not even have a winning record this season. And, Georgia Tech is 0-1 in conference as well.

We read all this junk about how great Georgia Tech is in Men’s Basketball and then what ?

I don’t see it.

Did I mention that Georgia Tech is zero (0) wins and two (2) losses against The SEC in Men’s Basketball ?

Another season yet again where Georgia Tech fans come in here and brag about their conference, because Georgia Tech CANNOT BEAT Georgia in Men’s Basketball.

Georgia Tech’s Coach has a Losing Record to Georgia in Men’s Basketball, while Georgia’s Coach has a Winning Record against Georgia Tech in Men’s Basketball.

Oh, yeah…your conference is so much better than The SEC.

By ............................................BuLLdawg

January 10, 2008 12:43 AM | Link to this

The ACC has NOT won more Men’s Basketball NCAA Tournament National Championships than The SEC has.

In fact, the ACC does NOT have more NCAA Tournament National Championships in Men’s Basketball than does The SEC, the Big 10 nor the Pac-10. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it. But, the ACC is so much better than everyone else in Men’s Basketball.

And, yet we hear this mantra after we beat Georgia Tech’s fannies in Men’s Basketball AGAIN that your conference is so much better than The SEC in Men’s Basketball.

That’s not the way the football season just ended.

The Stinking ACC went 2-6 in Bowl Games 2007-2008 in Football for the dead last worst record of all conferences in college football. The SEC went 7-2 for the Most Bowl Wins by any conference yet again this year as we always do.

The object of each football team is to get into the best bowl game and win it. The SEC Won 7, while the ACC LOST 6.

Congratulations Gnats, you Nerds.

In BCS Bowl Games, The SEC Won BOTH of ours while the ACC won zero (0).

LSU and Georgia are No. 1 and No. 2 in the nation in college football today in the Final AP Poll.

This marks the 11th consecutive year that Georgia has ended in the Final AP Poll.

Georgia Tech fans, after you beat Notre Dame, came running in here telling us all that Georgia Tech is great in football. And, the AJ-C chimed in with Front Page Headlines that Georgia Tech is RANKED AHEAD of Georgia IN FOOTBALL.

Now, you have fired your football coach who beat the Climpson farmers and replace him with a coach whose best win was over Air Force an unranked nobody football team who is ranked No. 50 in the nation.

You nerds are so smart.

You have 6 Losses in Football Georgia Tech. Oh, yeah…wait for it now…one of those 6 Losses is to hmmm…was it Georgia ?

For the 7th Consecutive Year in a Row, Georgia beat Georgia Tech in Football.

Did I mention your out-going coach NEVER beat Coach Richt ?

Did I mention that Coach Richt has NEVER LOST a football game against the ACC ever starting now this year his 8th season as our Head Football Coach ?

5 of the Top 15 teams in the Final AP Poll 2007-2008 are SEC teams. 3 of the Top 21 teams in the Final AP Poll 2007-2008 are ACC.

5 Ranked SEC Football Teams AP Poll to only 3 ACC this season.

And, The SEC was undefeated in bowl games against the ACC this year. The SEC handed the Climpson farmers of the ACC their 4th Loss. And, Georgia got three (3) 1st Place Votes in the Final AP Poll.

So, with this WIN over Georgia Tech in Men’s Basketball yet again tonight :

Paul Hewitt vs. Georgia 3-5. This is because December 6, 2000 UGA beat Paul Hewitt AT Georgia Tech, while Georgia Tech has NOT BEAT Georgia AT Georgia in 32 consecutive years and counting.

Dennis Felton vs. Georgia Tech 3-2.

MaChelle Joseph vs. Georgia 1-3.

Andy Landers vs. Georgia Tech 27-2.

Soon, you know – like today – Georgia Tech’s nerdy Gnats can start bragging about baseball to try to take their minds off football and men’s basketball.

And, Tech will tell us how much better they and then the ACC are than The SEC and UGA after we beat their butts in that sport again too. Did you know that the Record for Georgia Tech in Baseball against Georgia is 146-192-2 giving Georgia Tech a .43 percent Winning Percentage against UGA in Baseball. I can’t wait for the nerds to get off onto that kick next.

For Football and Men’s Basketball are H-I-S-T-O-R-Y.

Did I mention that MaChelle Joseph after losing to Georgia’s Andy Landers stomped past him REFUSING TO SHAKE HIS HAND outstretched?
