Cremins believes the hype
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
In a hurry today. Just got off the phone with Bobby Cremins, talking about the hype attached to great recruiting classes as Tech prepares to start three true freshman for the first time since 1997 (Alvin Jones, Travis Spivey and Dion Glover).
Check out this quote:
“People get excited when you bring in new freshmen who can play right away. When I left Georgia Tech, we lost the edge, that buzz. Paul’s got it back. Even though they had a tough year last year, the buzz is still there … and these freshmen are going to keep it going.”

I cannot remember Spivey? Of course Alvin stuck around for 4 yrs while Dion played one, set out one while injured, then went pro.

WHO CARES? After you wrote that Clemson took away Calvin Johnson all night a few weeks back, I am not sure you write things that are true. I was at the Clemson game and Calvin was OPEN all night, Reggie and Patrick just refused to look in his direction. Matt, you need to pay more attention to the truth, and it will make you free!

It is exciting now. Hopefully we’ll still be excited during the NCAA tourney ;)

I agree… the buzz is definitely here for this season. How else would we be ranked in the preseason coming off of that abyssmal season? Keep up the good work, Matt.
P.S. Why do the first 2 responses to this blog have absolutely nothing to do with this topic?

UNC and Duke get 5 new McDonalds All Americans every year and can afford to lose 2 or 3 of them to the pros, Tech can’t. So let’s hope we win big this year while the Frosh are hot.
