Jackets still focused
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
One of the most overused concepts in football is the idea of “looking ahead.” Sometimes, though, there’s some truth to it. Teams come out flat because their minds were never really on the game being played because the next game was so big.
Well, that’s one thing Tech won’t be doing this week. “Looking ahead” to North Carolina? To Duke? Not very believable. And the Georgia game and whatever comes after it are still a long, long way away.
If there are any issues this week, they might be from being mentally exhausted after a four-game stretch that included games at Virginia Tech, at home against Maryland, at Clemson and at home against Miami. Going 3-1 on that stretch will be the key to Tech’s season, assuming it doesn’t screw up in the next three weeks.

No, there won’t be a problem looking ahead this week. The Jackets will be focused on revenge for last year’s loss to the Wolfpack and will thump them in Raleigh.
Mark my words: Tech will be 9-2 and rolling going into Athens on November 25th! GO JACKETS!!!

THE MAN - I’d love to meet you in Athens or Atlanta sometime. Perhaps I could pick you up after the bus drops you off.

The Man; Last time the puppies played a bunch of nerds (Vanderbilt), what was the outcome? Did you crush them? And since all Tech fans are nerds, come on down here to Premier Fitness where I train, and see if you can’t crush this nerd. Premier Fitness, Atlanta Ga. I’ll be wearing my Yellow Jacket shirt with the pocket protecter.

The Man” is an incredible putz. As a matter of fact, I suspect he may be a woman. Do us all a favor, Miss Man, and please stay off the blogs with your drivel.

I’m sorry to all. I am just trying to make up for my lack in size. I am just so jeolous of the Techies… as I ride the short bus to work everyday and come home to my single wide trailer and double wide wife… whom I can’t get with, again because of my lack in size. Beer, wife beating, and Bull Dawg football is the only thing I have.

I’ve found that if you ignore certain people that scream for attention, they will get worse but then eventually go away.

Teams which exceed expectations one week invariably fail to live up to them the next week. Tech will lose to N.C. State.

This is a dangerous game. N. C. State is talented and remind this fan of the old Hugh Durham basketball teams. They can beat anyone that motivates them. That is why they play good against top 25 ranked teams and bad against unranked teams.

November is the true test of a football team. Which teams wants it the most. Hopefully this year Tech will not repeat its usual dud November. Recall losses to Duke, and both NC teams and Wake Forest over the years.
Maybe this year the team inculding coaches will stay the course.
Any road game is never easy. To do it 2 weeks back to back is something the beloved Bulldogs will not do. The schedule makers in the ACC do not like Tech and should have never given them the schedule they did. However Tech has done the best that could have been expected.
It has only been out of one game this year and ran into a team which wanted it more.
This season is about winning the ACC and to beat Georgia is the desert.

NC State beat us last year, beat BC this year. They will be high as kites knowing they can beat us this year. If we go out there with that target on our backs and start acting groofy like we do sometimes and mail it in we are going to lose and then all that pressure playing a UNC team that we don’t scare, why do it. Let’s win this game then worry about getting up Monday morning.

You are right, surfrider..this is a scarey game. Tech could easily lose this one if they don’t stay focused. NC State is no pushover, plus it’s a road game. The guys know what they are playing for and won’t let it happen. I see them stuffing NC State and winning out in NOV. The TechNation will have a nice Thanksgiving!!

we should have been high for the clemson game but were flat and got totally flatten by the tigers. however, as i said before the game, of the next two - cu and um - we had to beat miami which we did.
that said, we should be up for the ncs game, but which team will show up? the one that played clemson and the first three quarters of maryland, or the one that played vt and miami? at least our team won’t be looking forward to unc or duke.
