Plenty to be thankful for
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Thursday was a day to be thankful, and that applies to those who love college football. What are you thankful for about this year’s Georgia Tech football team?
I’m thankful to have the opportunity to watch Calvin Johnson’s amazing feats week after week. It never grows old. He continually amazes. And I’m thankful I get to watch Johnson for another season, too.
I’m thankful Chan Gailey and his players show the class to talk to reporters even in situations when the Yellow Jackets know the questions they’ll face won’t be any fun to answer.
And I’m thankful that I cover a team full of interesting and unusual stories, from Gailey’s successful return from a heart attack to Reggie Ball’s bout with viral meningitis to the Reuben Houston saga to the upset of No. 3 Miami.
Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving.

I am thankful that Georgia Tech continues to put competitive football teams year in and year out. Yes we complain sometimes about lack of football consistency, but not many other schools in the nation can boast about their school’s scholastic aptitude while simultaneously having competitive football, basektball, and baseball programs.
GO JACKETS!!!!!! to hell with U[sic]GA

Copetitive Basketball? Just who the hell is “You Eye See?” (UIC) HAHA, Start the Paul Hewitt blogs, ol Chan can rest for a few hours. First ever win over an ACC team by “You Eye See,” lost their last two games to St. Xavier?, and Denver? Wow looks like your roundball schedule is a little too tough this year!! What a way to start a weekend. Dawgs roll 34-13! Woof!! Sic-em!!

Hey, “Birdie”,
If you knew anything at all about current trends in college basketball, You would know that UIC (University of Illinois-Chicago) is an school kind of like Gonzaga was years ago before anybody ever heard of the school. But, with a tunnel-visioned Bulldog whose only joy in life is “gitt’n’ drunk at Dawgs games”, I am sure basketball is beyond your scope of interests (OK, we’ll throw deer huntin’ in there too.)
As the quality of SEC football declines, I suppose we will have the pleasure of hearing more whining from you for years to come.
And, oh yes, “competitive” is not spelled “copetitive”. If you can’t spell, at least have enough pride to use spell-check.
Best of luck to you, ECobb Jacket

E. Codd Jacket, Exactly what do you mean when you say “UIC is AN school like Gonzaga?” “AN school?” (spell check?) I guess everyone has heard of them now. No, don’t do much deer hunting, but I do like going outside and pouring gas down yeller jacket’s nests. Also, the last time I looked at the top 15, their were 4 SEC teams and the ACC with 2. One which embarrased you, the other lost, and is still ranked ahead of you. Have a wonderful day. Bird Dawg

Bird Dawg, why don’t you go bark in the mirror for a while and get ready for the game. While you are at it, think about the number of times Ga has lost in basketball to smaller schools. Then think about the smaller schools you schedule in football. Then think seriously why you contribute to a Tech blog (you must secretly be in love with Tech or want to support Tech and not let your friends know). Anyway, thanks for supporting the Tech blog and keep on contributing. By the way, of the 4 SEC schools in the top 25, it seems Tech beat one that the dawgs, or is it dogs, could not.

UIC about beat us last year. It’s one of those roque teams that can’t get anyone to play them because they might get hot and beat you. It’s a no win situation playing them. Georgia is kind of in that place tonight. Beat Tech and it’s just another game, lose and all hell breaks loose.

We will talk basketball with the dawgs any time they want to bring it up, but after tonight they might not want to talk anything.

We know our basketball team stinks, for the most part it always has. At least we admit it.It’s just a matter of time before Hewitt’s head starts to roll on these blogs. Maybe in the future we can swap Boise St. for UConn or Wake Up Forrest. I have always been for playing a tougher out of conference schedule, but I can’t control that, and tonight it gets even weaker. Sorry, gotta run. Going to go get in front of the mirror and mimmick Reggie Testicle after a Quentin Moses hit.

Birdie,
Good day to you. You missed the other grammatical error in my email. I capitalized the “Y” on the 1st line; the other error I cleverly inserted. You were 1 for 2; by Dawg standards, excellent!
Based on strength of schedule this year, Ga Tech’s was ranked #12. UGa’s must’ve been in the 3-digit category.
Nice play on words with our QB’s name. This begs three questions:
Do you always giggle when you type naughty body parts?
Will you guys ever show some class?
Did YOU graduate from UGa, or are you one of the many so-called “fans” who dropped out of school in the 9th grade?
My guesses are:
“Yes, always”, “Never…Ever”, and “No, but my pa’s uncle did!”
Bye-bye, Birdie!

No, just when I sniff’em.
Can’t go a day without using the word “class.”
3.No, made it to the 12th, but my girlfriend who was a freshman at Tech got pregnant, and the rest ia history.
CYA E.CODD, Be sure and put your smoking jacket on, and warm up the cider. DAWGS roll 34-13! WOOF!! SIC EM !!!!!!!!!!

Gosh, Gee, I guess the SEC is pretty good. How about Florida and Georgia beating your tails today!!!!!!!!!! Reuben should have been out making some money tonight. If so at least the young man that lost playing time to him, would have gotten some justice!! TWELVE in a Row, GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DAWGSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!

Hey E. Codd, don’t think I’ll be hearing from you though. What was that strength of schedule remark? You weren’t playing Auburn or Miami tonight, you were playing the Dawgs!!!! Throw that statistic out!! Wasn’t even one of our best performances either! I guess you nerds can go ahead and brag about the toughness of the ACC. By the way Poodle, I’m in front of the mirror for the fifth year in the row making sad nerd faces to see what it is like. Boy! Is it funny!! I also held my breath so long I almost seen a blue field!! Well, gotta run, the trailer has come off it’s foundation from all the jumping up and down. If Charles Johnson doesn’t abandon ship after this year you may keep it within 10 points next year. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend all! GO DAWGS!!!! 5 in a row!!!! WOOOOOFFFFF!!!! SIC EM !!!!!!!!!!!!
