I think I was right last time

Mark Bradley

Time once more for one of those “I think” things. I think you’ll find this to be the best ever. If you don’t, I think you’re wrong.

I think Byron Leftwich will be starting within a month.

I think Georgia is man enough.

I think Matt Ryan is the best passing college quarterback I’ve ever seen in person. (Note that I didn’t say the best quarterback per se: I’ve also seen Archie and Peyton Manning, Charlie Ward, Matt Leinart and Vince Young. They were pretty good, too.)

I think the Hawks will make the playoffs.

I think the Thrashers will make the playoffs.

I think the Falcons will … not make the playoffs. (Had you going, didn’t I?)

I think Jon Tenuta is slightly overrated.

I think Willie Martinez is more than slightly underrated.

I think the Braves would give a lot of money to have Adam Wainwright back.

I think it’d be funny if the Mets didn’t win their division and the Yankees won theirs. And I don’t care much for the Yankees.

I think Charlie Weis has gotten more money out of a close loss — Southern Cal 2005 — than any coach in the history of sports.

I think Andruw Jones, who’ll want upwards of $18 million, deserves closer to $8 million. Call that a Weis-sized gap.

I think Auburn is looking at six losses.

I think Louisville misses Bobby Petrino, and vice versa.

I think the Angels and Padres will reach the World Series.

I think, therefore I’m done.

Hey Mark, do you still think Georgia is the “standard bearer of the SEC”? What’s their record against the SEC East and overall record since you wrote that column in late 2005? How does that compare to the records of Florida and LSU?

I think the Dawgs go down again Saturday.

I think you’re smoking that funny stuff if you think the Hawks will come anywhere near the playoffs unless they are buying tickets.

I think the Braves will just cross their fingers and hope Hampton comes back healthy.

I think the Thrashers will be worse than last year.

I think the Falcons will end up better than anyone expected them to be once Leftwich takes the helm at QB.

I think if Georgia doesn’t beat Alabama on Saturday you can pencil them for 6 losses as well.

I also think Georgia is man enough.

I also think if Georgia loses Sat for some reason I think Alabama will go undefeated.

I also think if I must be losing my mind because I think I’d like to see Alabama go undefeated if they beat Georgia.

I also think “thinking” can get you into trouble and it makes my head hurt!

What is the under/over on how many seasons until Petrino leaves for either a college position (UCLA, LSU?) or a more prestigious pro coaching job (Cowboys, Chargers?)? I think it’s 3.

I think UGA destroys Alabama. Not beats. Destroys.

I think some other team will have A. Jones getting more strikeouts than hits for them next year.

I think the Falcons take a QB with their first draft pick next year.

I was at the Kentucky-Louisville game this past weekend. I think you should try to see both of those quarterbacks play in person. Then you’ll change your mind about the Boston College guy. Woodson and Brohm both have strong arms and are incredibly accurate.

I hope you don’t think Tenuta’s overrated on the basis of ONE football game. Puh-lease. Sportswriters are not know for being clear thinkers.

I don’t think Petrino would’ve been much help for L-ville’s defense. In fact, maybe that’s one reason why he left. He knew the defense wasn’t going to be good enough to win the BCS this year.

The last pun just wasn’t very good and I’m a fan of puns. And I know a thing or two about Descartes so I can appreciate such humor (and I assume you know who Descartes is and the famous quote attributed to him). It just misses the mark.

I think Petrinio will be coaching Auburn in 2009. I Think Mark Richt will be coaching at FSU in 2009 after winning the SEC Title in 2008. I hope Bobo is Not coaching the Dawgs in 2009 (SEE RAY GOFF ERA). You will have your first Black coach coaching the Falcons in 2009. Atlanta’s next Mayor could be White, Ala all the high rises and intown revitalization to whites and blacks moving to Dekalb,Clayton and Douglas counties. Who will coach the Dawgs. A little known coach at Louisiana Tech named Dooley.

I think Georgia is going down in defeat on Saturday unless Herschel comes back.

And I don’t think Herschel is coming back.

I think Georgia is (as usual) overrated.

I think Tech is going to mop the floor with the Dawgs.

I think Leftwich will be the quarterback by the Tennessee game, 10/7.

I think Bobby Petrino will prove to be a Jimmy Johnson, not a Steve Spurrier.

Speaking of Spurrier, I think I am beginning to like him and I hated him at Florida.

I agree with you concerning Andruw, but unfortunately, I think some fool owner will give him what Boras thinks he is worth.

I think Calipari is showing the naivete of a schoolgirl in his coaching/recruiting trip to China. He says, “We don’t want to act like a bunch of greedy Americans.” That’s funny—while he’s worrying about being considered a “greedy” American, the Chinese will be calculating the minutia of how to manipulate and use him, in the same way they make use of every ounce of a chicken, from feet to head.

Auburn 6 losses. Whoa nelly, after going 13-0 and receiving the Tuberville National Championship 3 years ago. What a freaking joke. Tuberville has to have the best close game record ever. For ex, 5 games last year were decided by a touchdown or less.

I think Byron Leftwich will start against Houston

I think the Hawks will make the playoffs

I think the Thrashers will make it further in the playoffs

I think the Falcons are not going back to the playoffs until 2010

I think the Braves wont make the Playoffs until they go for a better pitcher.

I think GT is going to be in the top 10 before the end of the season

I think UGA will be in the top 20

I think im done :)

GO HAWKS!!

The Hawks have bunches of young talent. So do you put much weight to the talent or young part of the equation ? No team this young at it’s core has ever won a title to my knowledge. As for making the playoffs,I think there’s a good chance if bad luck or bad chemistry doesn’t wreck the ship…..By the way I’ve come to agree with your assessment of Willie Martinez,he’s a coordinator in the true sense of the word.If he instilled the fire Van Gorder did, he might be the best in the business,he’s close as it is.
