Oct. 1 a pivotal date for Vick?
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
By now it’s pretty much assumed Michael Vick won’t play this season. Procedurally, however, something else needs to happen before we can say as much with absolute certainty.
Contrary to popular belief, Vick hasn’t yet been suspended by either the NFL or the Falcons. He has been excused from training camp with pay by commissioner Roger Goodell pending the league’s own investigation. It seems a reasonable assumption that the NFL will find cause to suspend him for the season. But what if it doesn’t?
According to the NFL’s collective bargaining agreement, the maximum a team (as opposed to the league, which has broader powers) can suspend a player is four regular-season games. The Falcons were prepared to do that — they’d already drafted the letter — when Goodell stepped in. So let’s say, at the end of camp, the commish declares Vick is eligible to return to the Falcons, who promptly suspend him for those four games. The Falcons’ fourth game will be played on Sept. 30. So what would happen on Oct. 1?
Either Vick rejoins the team, or the Falcons cut him. (Arthur Blank has already ruled out the much-discussed paid leave of absence.) We’ve all been focusing on Nov. 26, the day Vick’s trial is scheduled to begin in Richmond, but the date of Monday, Oct. 1, could be just as intriguing.
And what’s the chance Vick will do as co-defendant Tony Taylor has done and cop a plea? Not likely. Not if he wants to play in the NFL again anytime soon. The league, see, would surely treat a guilty plea, even to a lesser charge, as an admission of guilt, duh, and could well move to dock Vick for all of the 2008 season, too.
Being rich and famous and able to afford the best lawyers, Vick will probably be better served taking his chances in front of a jury. As grim as the charges seem today, it takes only the slightest kernel of reasonable doubt in the minds of one or two jurors to override a mountain of evidence. But you knew that already.

The NFL and the Falcons want the Vick situation resolved. Assuuming the trial starts Nov. 26th it will not be done for quite a while. The circus would only start over and be more intense than now if he comes back before a judgement. The Falcons don’t deserve the distraction. I think its time sart the W.A.V.E. in the ATL. Wins After Vick Exits.

All vick’s lawyers have to do is get a couple blacks on that jury and he will be found not guilty. Why do you think he choose the jury trial without hesitation? Blacks will not convict a wealthy famous black regardless of the evidence. They could have video of vick fighting dogs and all vick’s attorneys would have to do is claim he is being framed by racist cops. Wait and see he will walk regardless of what the evidence is if they get just enough of the right color on that jury.

I think Goodell is going to Suspend him over “T“‘s plea. I believe Goodell told Mike that he was responsible for the house. I take that to mean that even if Vick is not convicted, but the others are, Goodell will move to suspend him.

MOST REAL FALCON FANS WANT VICK BACK ON THE FIELD. I’ve been a Falcon fan a long long time and lot of these Vick critics didn’t start paying attention to the Falcons until Vick joined the team. I think he will prevail in this situation and hopefully be back a Falcon uniform. Vick is without a doubt the best QB in Falcon history. IF BLANK GETS RID OF VICK BEFORE HE HAS HIS DAY IN COURT WOULD BE A HUGE MISTAKE. We will be back to blacked out games. News Flash you idiots, we didn’t even make the playoffs last year and still got scheduled for 3 nationally televised games. Why = Vick

It’s really too bad that there is a multi-tiered justice system, and Vick is at the top of those tiers, so yes, it’s very likely that he will be found not guilty and the only punishment he will suffer is short term loss of income, and to him, that’s like you and me losing a quarter out of our pockets. One can only hope there is a cosmic justice and someday he will have to answer to the animals he hurt and killed.

the nfl said stay away from camp till we know more— ok the falcons have said we are moving on with out him because he is not here, money owed to vick this yr will decide what falcons do also the play of quarterbacks on field if we are winning games there will be no reason to put mike back in a falcons uniform — does not look like falcons are worried anymore its mike problems and they hope he gets thru them as stated by managment, vick is done playing this yr for sure, maybe for next few if found guilty either way falcons will move on and give joey and dj a chance at running coach p new offense, who knows the starter come game day could be chris redman only the preseason will tell us all the answers we seek at this 2 early 2 tell time. one thing is for sure this is the most media coverage the falcons football team has ever gotten other than 1 trip to superbowl as a true falcons fan i will await the outcome of games, trials, position battles to see what will the 2007 atl falcons team become gonna be exciting to watch GO U DIRTY BIRDS!!!!!

Being an African American, I hope that any African Americans on Vick’s jury will consider the evidence against him as the judge directs them to do. I hate the implied message to the effect”that blacks won’t convict a wealthy and famous black.” If Vick had anything to do with this vile activity and any professional football hires him as a player then the team is as bad as Vick.

Regardless of whether or not Vick is “legally” found guilty or not, the FACT of the matter is that the dog-fighting activities occurred ON HIS PROPERTY and THOSE WERE HIS FRIENDS! Vick not only has animal activists on his tail, he has average citizens like myself who are not part of an animal rights group in an uproar. As far as I’m concerned, Vick is already guilty in the court of public opinion and that’s what counts because that’s where the revenue comes from. Why do you think Nike, Donruss, Reebok, UpperDeck and other sponsors have suspended sales of Vick related merchandise. Judging from the phone calls, emails and protests, these companies had to or they would be suffering the absolute worst public relations nightmare they’ve ever seen. All eyes of the country will be on this case come November 26. If the Vick is found not guilty, I can’t imagine the downpour of protests and emails that will come down on Atlanta. If Vick is found guilty and Judge Nelson does not give him the maximum sentence allowed for these heinous senseless crimes to these animals, he doesn’t deserve to be a judge. What kind of society are we rearing if even the LAW says it’s okay to abuse animals in such an inhumane way. Either way, in my opinion, Vick is done. The sooner the NFL and Falcons cut him permanently, the better off both organizations will be. Vick has put a huge huge blemish on Atlanta.

I don’t think there is any way Vick will be back in a Falcon’s uniform. Whether he is convicted of anything whether it be dogfighting or racketeering remains to be seen. I think we all realize what jurors are capable of doing no matter what the mountain of evidence. Given that, I think Vick is very smart to take his chances at a jury trial. It only requires he be able to endure all that goes along with it, present and future. I predict he will end up in Oakland or Dallas in 2008 or 2009. I say let’s move on with the Falcon’s season and let the legal system take care of the rest. The Falcons are going to do much better than you might think. (9 and 7 and make the playoffs)

I totally agree with hung jury. I don’t think a jury in Richmond, VA will convict Vick. I’ve seen many folks from that area interviewed on TV and most of them have already said they would not vote for conviction, regardless of the evidence. It’s sad, but I see another OJ coming.
And, by the way, this is one “true falcon fan” who does NOT want to see Vick ever wearing a Falcon uniform again.

Ounce again it amazes me how you all view the Vick situation compared to others. I will say, “if he did it” because like you I don’t know if he’s guilty or not. So, if he did it, he beat on some dogs, but when a NFL player beats on his wife it doesn’t even make the headlines. Vick will play in the NFL again and if the Falcons release him they won’t see a national televised game for a long time. Everyone on here wants to say how bad of a QB Vick is but the bottom line is he wins games. I’m a Falcons fan not a Vick fan so I don’t care who is at QB as long as they win. It’s easy to identify the fans that just started liking the Falcons when Vick arrives because they are the ones you hear talking about selling tickets and not watching the Birds anymore because Vick caught a charge. What does one person have to do with liking your team?

I don’t agree with hung jury that blacks will automatically find Vick not guilty just because he is black, but I do appreciate your being open about how racist you are. Im tired of turning on the radio and television only to hear white amerikkka condemn Vick before his trial and at the same time pretend this prejudice is not racially motivated. I wish ya’ll would just admit that a black quaterblack with braids and “hip-hop” attitude just doesn’t go over well in this country.

The WAVE, The T’s, National TV, Cosmic Justice…answering to Animals??? Vick has been answering to “the animals” for a long time. It’s time to separate from that junk and recognize the responsibilities of the Fans, the Falcons, the NFL…move forward without the appearance of evil junk. Let this be a lesson to all who want to be part of the NFL in the future…players, owners or fans. We have a good new group of coaches, and players. It’s time for the fans to support what the owner has already indicated…Vick is GONE! Without the $100 million he could have had, he will have the rest of his life to regret his abuse and stupidity. It was a choice he made. Let others see the most obvious results of bad choices and hope they will benefit. This stuff has to stop sooner or later. Let it be now!

Don’t convict him before all the facts come out. Let the guy have a fair trial and if he is found guilty then he deserves everything he gets……..including prison time and loss of his career. One thing that p** me off is that despicable activity (dog-fighting) is now linked with Atlanta and Georgia —- even though Vick is not from Georgia, all his cronies were not from Georgia, and the property it took place on was not in Georgia. It’s a damn shame it will be forever linked to Atlanta and Georgia. I’m an outdoorsman and pretty much a country boy —- but I thought dog-fighting was something that went away years ago. What kind of sick idiots are still into that kind of stuff? Disgusting.

I thought a conviction meant his NFL career is over?
I know if I already have millions in the bank if I am offered probation and a fine even if it means the end of his career I would not hesitate accepting that deal knowing the FEDS coviction rate is 95% and the altenative means going to prison and ending my career anyway.
Of course we are talking about Mike Vick (not the sharpest knife in the drawer).

Justice- I’m so sick of hearing that logic when you all do a 180 in the same breath when it comes to P Kerney, The first crap that comes out of someone’s mouth is the two are not related. Straight B.S.!! How the %#$@ can you all say with so much convicton that Vick is responsible for what goes on that house where the dog fighting occured whether he lived there or not then don’t turn around and say that same mess when Kerney not only owned that house where a crime occured but WAS IN THE HOUSE! If you say Vick is responsible cause he owned his house, why does that not apply to Kerney? Next thing that comes flying out of some lugnut’s mouth is , “well, she said Kerney didn’t have anything to do with it..” So what? If Vick’s co-defendants, just like his cuz, all say Vick didn’t participate in the dog-fighting all I hear is- “it doesn’t matter, it happened in his house!” Yeah, but then the same goes for Kerney right? Oh, I forgot this is the South so of course not! Fake azz hpocrites.

I’m so tired of this being a race thing. I’m white and I’ve supported Vick through thick and thin. I thought his braids looked cool. But now it’s time to wake up and smell the coffee. If he was white, you would not see people lined up in the street pleading for everyone to “overlook” his alleged crime and let him play. The black folks know it and the white folks know it. He cannot take the field while this is hanging over his head. He simple can’t.

Couple points.
1) Anyone who think Vick will play in the NFL this season are delusional. The fact that dogfighting took place on his property with his money is enough for me - I don’t want him representing Atlanta again.
2) Anyone who thinks Mike Vick is a great quarterback aren’t paying attention. He’s a great talent yes, and exciting to watch, but he’s not that great a QB. He doesn’t seem to read defenses that well, he has a gun of an arm but that does you no good when you can’t hit the target. Finally, he has yet to show me he’s a leader on the football field which is pretty much what you need out of a QB.
So for all you wondering “How can the NFL kill Vick’s career?” The answer is… they aren’t… Vick is doing that all by himself.
Dogfighting is barbaric and cruel - and oh by the way is’t ILLEGAL. The people that take part in it are inhumane because they show a complete lack of regard for human life by raising and training animals to do nothing but kill. As of now all we know is that Vick was connected to this crime - how deep his involvement will come out during the trial.
In the end: Don’t do the crime if you can’t handle the punishment.

Some of you crack me up.
Darren “The Vent King” asks what happens if Vick’s co-defendants all say he had nothing to do with it. Ummmm, have you forgotten one of his co-defendants had already pled and implicated Vick? Also, there is those other witnesses the Feds have.
“Help is on the way” seems to think that conspiracy cases are hard to prove. Hmmmm, you should really check a lawbook. Conspiracy cases are easier to convict because the deeds of one can be counted to them all… and guess what, one of them has already been deemed guilty —- oops.

It makes me say HMMMMM everytime I hear people say Vick will be acquitted with a All Black Jury cause he is Black and Famous. I makes me say HMMMM when people say they stopped believing in the justice system when OJ was acquitted. Its makes me say HMMMMM when people act as if RACISM is no longer prevalent in the U.S. when I see it in many forms everyday… Then it makes me think about how many blacks were killed, robbed, lynched, and how all white jurys and prestigious white men were acquitted in the 20th century..Hey even NOW. Well I would say now you know how it feels but the truth is, you don’t and you never will because it happened ALL THE TIME and some grandfathers and uncles who are still living today committed these crimes and are walking around free…but has the audacity to question the legal system when they killed blacks, hispanics, asians in the 60s and 70s….It makes me say HMMMMM!!

Would you people please get over the OJ thinglol. None of you know if Vick is guilty or not. The only evidence that has been made public that ties Vick to any crime are the statements made by witnesses. What the media doesn’t want to focus on is the fact that every witness the government has are either doing time for dog fighting and looking for a reduced sentence or facing charges for dog fighting and again looking for reduced sentences. Witnesses that are testifying to receive something in return aren’t very credible for obvious reasons. So if the prosecution doesn’t have any physical evidence or a some kind of a paper trail that can put vick at a dog fight they will have a hard time getting a jury to rely on the testimony of criminals looking to save themselves. So if he gets cleared of the charges maybe its because he’s actually innocent. I find it hard to believe that one of the most famous athletes in the world can attend dog fights with crowds of people for 6 years and no one run to the media to sell the story. And by the way if they had any evidence other than these criminal witnesses they would have charged him with more than conspiracy. Just a thought.

He i scharged with a felony, he is accused of killing and hurting inocent animals. If he is found guilty of these crimes he should be punished and put in prison. The Falcons and football are just a form of entertainment they matter not in the big scheme of things. Being a great football player doesn’t allow you to break the law and be barbaric. get your values right for god sake

In Sussex New Jersey a county worker was sentenced to 5 years in prison and is currently serving that sentence for intentionally running down 3 geese in the parking lot of a U.S. Post office. This was a first time offense yet he is doing the time. Should Michael Vick get anything less than a average American? Just wait and see! Vick will serve no jail time. Will play again in the NFL, maybe not for Atlanta but somewhere after doing all kinds of fund raising for PETA or some organization like that. It’s the same old story in America, If your famous or rich you get a pass for no matter what. If your Black, Rich and Famous you are owed a walk because of your oppressed upbringing due to all the racism you suffered. Hey, what ever happened to that other famous football player who committed a double homicide? Was he convicted? Pay any civil penalties even after being found responsible for those crimes? Welcome to American justice for the wealthy. I will bet anyone Vick either walks or pays a fine for the terrible abuse he put those animals through. Hey Mike ignorance is no excuse in a court of law. I can’t believe anyone would want Vick back on their team after this, just to get their team on TV??? How stupid is that comment? I agree that he deserves his day in court and that he may or may not get a fair trial, depending on the jury. But that is true for blacks or whites and that is our system. Its not perfect but unless someone has a better idea, we use it. He may already be judged in the court of public opinion but when you are a public figure, that is the life you choose. Anyone who chooses to beat another being, animal or human, derserves to be set up for people to see and be judged.

If Michael Vick ever faces reality he will realize his NFL career is finished even on the slight chance he is acquitted. If the charges local (i.e. Gerald Poindexter), he might have a chance of beating them, but the charges are federal as in a 95% conviction rate and since there is lots of forensic (executed and neglected, fight scarred dogs) and physical evidence (rape stand, room built by Vick for dogfighting, stick for opening fighting dogs jaws) along with several corroborating witnesses (not just Taylor) I would bet the conviction rates in similar cases are even higher.
Once he faces the reality that his career is finished and he has little chance of winning his court case he will plead guilty.

Juno1977!!! Even though you’re not a Vick fan, i can respect what you said. Yeah, we haven’t made the playoffs the past 2 seasons, but it’s not like we were 3-13, like the season when Vick broke his leg. At least we were in contention with Vick. You take away Vick, we’re done. Like June1977 said. The bottom line is he wins games. Everyone always talks about numbers and completion percentages, etc. None of that means s** if you don’t win, white folks. He could have the best numbers in the NFL, but if we’re losing, you’ll still hate him. We have the worst fans in the country, and the worst sports writers too. A small part of me wants Vick to go to a real team with recievers that cn catch the ball, an actuall offensive line, and a defense that doesn’t stop anyone. The Falcons are always trying to keep the “good ole boys” like Brooking, who gets his a* kicked every sunday and you white folks love him. Worst fans in America, Atlanta, that’s what you are.

Most of the player goddell has throw the book at are black and most of the player are black. If Vick is found not gulity and they keep him out this will be bad for business for the NFL in a lot of citys. watch what you wish for you may get more than you want! nasdaq I have been in Atlanat longer than the falcons and I want to win too, but I am also a realist and the fact is Vick got by on his ahtletic ability the first 2 years, defenses have him figured out now and he simply is not a good qb.
Did you know he has not thrown a TD pass in the 4th qtr in the last 18 games???
And even if he was a good qb, I don’t want to win that bad that we have to do it with low life criminals!!!

The comments here that this is all about race are an absurd cop out of what is truly going on. I am white and my feelings of outrage have NOTHING to do with the fact that Michael Vick is a black man. It would not alter my feelings of disgust and repulsion ONE IOTA if it were a white man that did this. There is something so heinous about abusing and torturing the MOST VULNERABLE in our society - children and animals. They are at the complete mercy of the human beings around them. They don’t understand the “ways of the world”, they cannot rationalize the behavior of those hurting them, and they cannot leave their environment. They can only remain and suffer. The reactions that this behavior has elicited are entirely appropriate in anyone that draws breath, and if it doesn’t draw the same response from you, then there is something seriously deficient within yourself that you would feel that this activity is, ‘no big deal’ as I have heard it been put. As for innocent until proven guilty - read the indictment.

Concerning Vick, I’ve moved on already. I’m tired of the media circus, the endless debates and him in general. I was a Vick supporter at one time, but no more and its not JUST about dogs, either. I’m looking forward to a regular run offense with (finally) a passing game. The Falcons TEAM, for me anyway, has always taken priority over one star player. I just hope some of you can move on and support the rest of the Falcons.

As a lawyer, it amazes me to see the amount of ignorance and emotion that the public is filled with on this issue; after all Mr. Vicks dog fighting crime is “only” a misdemeanor. As one news report put it, we have reached a point of unmitigated wrongs. That is to say that the public is absolutely unwilling to speak about anything other than total removal of Mr. Vick. What is amazing is that that sort of sentiment has been reserved only for homicides and rapes; and in both cases former athletes (Ray Lewis and Kobe Bryan) were forgiven. Legally, yes Mr. Vick is “innocent” until proven guilty. That means that he is not “not guilty” rather than innocent, but in fact the latter until otherwise proven. When the public begins to reclassify and define the constitutional principles of being innocent until found guilty (as being “not guilty” and never innocent), that is not democratic; such is more in line with a dictatorship. Nonetheless that goes to show that democracy is inherently fragile and we must do all that we can to maintain it. Moreover, all news accounts have (1) ignored the fact that the claims against Mr. Vick are conspiratorial (where the government concedes that Mr. Vick did not actually kill any dogs, but merely participated in the crime of dog fighting) and speak about the allegations as if Mr. Vick “actually,” with his own hands committed these crimes, (2) ignored the other defendants’ culpability, as if Mr. Vick did everything. Finally, it is quite arbitrary to act as if Mr. Vick is the scum of the earth and not worthy of anything (including life), but to be willing to believe anybody, i.e. Mr. Vick’s co-defendants, when they say “I shot the dog on my own, but Mr. Vick initiated my actions four-years previously when he bought the property,” without evaluation and consideration that such persons statements have been “bought and paid for” (it is clear that the alleged cooperating witnesses are persons guilty of dog fighting). Cases without physical evidence that point to one’s guilt, are inherently problematic, because to believe the witness whose cooperation has been “bought and paid for” one must arbitrarily discount the wrongdoing of that person who is equally, if not more so guilty than the person he or she is testifying against. If the said witness was uninterested in the proceedings it would be entirely different, but that is not the case. How do we not know that Mr. Vick’s only crime (entirely moral) is in truth pure stupidity, for being associated with bad people? I for one, without any apprehension, am waiting to actually see the evidence. Even now, with Mr. Tony Taylor’s guilty plea, the evidence against Mr. Vick has changed, as Mr. Taylor avers that Mr. Vick (1) didn’t bet on the dog fights or (2) participate in the execution of the dogs, both which the indictment alleges. But the public ignorant and emotional, has convicted Mr. Vick because of his association (while excusing the person’s associated with Mr. Vick), with total disregard for the actual evidence (which has not been produced); the allegations are enough.

But I have been reading these posts and laughing how ignorant and contradicting these Vick Haters have been, I feel obliged to comment. In three points, I will explain why Joey Harrington doesn’t compare to Vick and how despite his QB statistics, Vick is still the Falcons best bet at Quarterback. I know that you guys LOVE DOGS and HATE VICK but try to read and understand as an UNBIASED FALCONS FAN and student of the game. 1. Vick is a double threat, and has helped the Falcons lead the league in rushing for the last two years! Try to pretend that the offensive line was the only reason but if you look at the numbers, (1,000 plus rushing) Vick did this himself. And people continue to forget he is a different type of Quarterback. You can’t have cake and eat it to. You can’t get 100 QB rating and a 1000 yd rushing Quarterback….But him being able to throw and pass is what makes him the ideal guy. He is the only player that makes the defense prepare for him and make a guy mimic him in practice but never matches his speed. You guys must stop pretending that Michael Vick isn’t a great talent and great addition to the Falcons. Be real 100% of the time and stop pretending that Joey Harrington is better than him.

Sure he is not the best QB, but I’ve played this game and I’ve studied coach Petrino’s system. This system fits this kid to a tee and I think that he would be great in it. Now he isn’t a criminal until he is convicted in a court of law, and that is how I feel about anyone Black or White. Where is PETA during deer hunting season, wild boar hunting, turkey shooting? Aren’t those animals too? Vick will be found not guilty and it will be because of the media, peta, and all the other loud mouths thats already treating him like he’s been convicted, and the judge will realize that he would have to go to the moon for a fair trail.

Over the past decade a subculture of dog fighting has grown among professional athletes. Former NBA forward Qyntel Woods faced charges of dog fighting before pleading guilty to animal abuse in 2005 and former NFL running back LeShon Johnson pled guilty to three charges related to dog fighting in 2005 as well. Johnson is currently serving a five year deferred sentence. If Blank cut Vicks on October 1st, they will be making a clear statement that even a felony indictment won’t be tolerated by the Falcons. This is not just about abusing animals. There’s a reason Dog Fighting is a felony in most states and now a federal felony. Dog Fighting has grown into a serious problem for our communities, black, white, Georgia or Virginia. Dog fighting attracts illegal gambling, weapons, and drugs into our neighborhoods. You’ve all read about how the presence of fighting dogs increases the risk of attacks, especially on kids. Kids can also be exposed to appallingly cruel training methods and fights, promoting insensitivity to animal suffering, enthusiasm for violence, and a lack of respect for the law. Time for our multi-million dollar professional athletes to clean up if they want to play.

Tell us, which you think is the more serious crime? Apparently, a lot people don’t think child pornography is too serious. I’m afraid all of us in contemporary society are guilty of allowing issues of race to tinge our better judgement. You need look no further back than the Simi Valley jury’s inability to convict their LAPD neighbors of assaulting that DUI kuncklehead, Rodney King. I think there was a video that time too. We white folk can still be just as color-struck as some black jurors obviously are.
I suspect that the chorus now singing for MV’s permanent dismissal from the Falcons for his current dogfighting problems has essentially the same membership as it did back in the days when MV’s image, dubious choice of friends and middling QB rating made up the fan’s bill of indictment against him.
Me personally, I hope for MV’s eventual return to his rightful place as the Falcons QB - with a big qualification that there’s nothing else looming out there even worse that we don’t yet know about. Hey Mike, you never went on double-dates with Ray Carruth, did you?
Ray Lewis resumed his NFL career. Helped his team to a championship. It’d be nice if Vick was afforded the same opportunity. I’d love to see Petrino get a chance to scheme up an office with an asset (make that a willing and motivated asset like MV).

John G do the names James Blake or William Shatner mean anything to you? They too were accused of killing the women in their lives and were acquitted. William Shatner was never even charged. So the justice system isn’t just for “rich blacks”. To “dwy” I have a problem with people saying that they do not beleive the testimony of a person trying to save themselves (informant). Well there are at least four other people who implicated Mike Vick. Ask yourself: If they are trying to save themselves, then why pick him? They could have picked anybody off the street to save their skin. It defies logic that all of these people would get together and say “let’s pin this on Mike and save ourselves. I feel he is up to his neck in this mess based on reading the 19 page indictement with my own eyes, however I am human enough to sympathize with someone who has made some terrible mistakes and is facing prison. All this drama over a mediocre at best QB that can’t pass. I hope Harrington wins the NFL Comeback Player of the Year Award and leads the Falcons to the playoffs just so I can hear some of you shut up.
And stop with the Ray Lewis/Jamal Lewis comparisons. There was no personal conduct rule in the NFL back then, and there is now.
And I don’t want this tool back on the Falcons. He’s supposed to be a QB, and I haven’t a bit of leadership or anything on that field except for the fact that he can run. But now that defenses have figured him out, he won’t have that anymore.
Whether Vick is guilty or not, get him off this team. Blank, go get us a QB that acts like he has a shred of common sense and can be a leader on the field instead of more rich thugs.

Over the 5 years of working with these individuals, they have assured me & I have witnessed that no matter how strong the case may be in their favor, the federal government WINS 99.9% of the time. ALSO, when you don’t accept the plea bargains offered, they push for the maximum penalty. $ doesn’t buy you out of it either based on guys I dealt with who had the cash. And since when do our employers, whoever they may be, contract or not, control every aspect of our lives. I have been a Falcons fan for as long as I can remember, but how dare the NFL or Arthur Blank tell an employee they can’t come to work because of something that has yet to be proven. BTW, I am an animal lover and love dogs and I truly hope Mike wasn’t involved (all you people that say “he was involved because he owned the house” are fools too, all of you landlords better beware because if that’s the case you’re all going to prison for what some of your tenants do), but if he is involved, so be it. They’re his dogs and his money (again, IF he is involved). As far as it being barbaric, what about deer hunting (for all you hunters)? It sounds pretty barbaric to hear one of you talking about how you shot a deer and severed its spine and the sounds the poor deer made until you finally killed it. And for all you “left-turn only” people that watch NASCAR. Its pretty barbaric to drive around at 180MPH in 1700 lbs of steel and sheetmetal. Maybe that should be banned as well. Carter you are a lawyer? Please reread the court documents then. First these are felony charges Vick is up against - not misdemeanors.
Taylor’s plea does indeed say that Vick bet on the dogfights. They say he largely funded the entire operation. When bets were made —- it was Vick’s money. Also there is plenty of physical evidence in this case from the wounds/scars on the dogs, the chains, the car axles, the rape stand, the sheds — all on Vick’s property.
And lastly, to those saying “It’s just a dog”… no its not. It’s also the human thought process that it’s fun to see if I can train something to fight to the death and win - besides, if my side loses… I don’t get hurt.
Dogfighting is much different than hunting or killing a spider or any of the other ridiculous analogies people toss out there.

Lets see what would happen to you at your job if you were under trial for a felony. You would pretty much be fired on the spot. Work is a privilege not a right…
And yeah, they were his dogs, etc… and i will assume for a second that hunting is as barbaric (Although i dont know how you compare a bullet leading to almost instantaneous death with hour long fights under influence of drugs is beyond me) but still, hunting is legal, and dog-fighting is not.
Right, because the NASCAR people were forced to ride those cars, and never greq up wanting to only do that. And after every race the losers are lined up and shot (if feeling merciful) or electrocuted to death. YEah, I can see the comparison. You make a great point.

Dog fighting is not only inhumane and dispicable it is also a felony in the state in which this occured. EVEN being a witness to dog fighting is a felony. Michael Vick IS presumed innocent at this time…but evidence is building. The color of Vicks skin has nothing to do with this matter. The truth is he is a high profile millionaire football player who thinks he is above the law. ‘they are just dogs’ is his motto. Fight dogs to the death. Go to jail. Train dogs to kill. Go to jail. Bet on the outcome of this brutal ‘sport’…go to jail. Animal cruelty no matter who the abuser is STILL animal cruelty. Michael Vick the millionaire football player should not be exempt from this.
And for anyone who is thinking that dog fighting happens everyday and it doesn’t make front page news….You are right. It’s usually not even written about or it is placed in one paragraph in the back of the paper. That doesn’t mean there are not prosecutions.
Michael Vick is well…Michael Vick. Sadly… today he is not the ‘man’ we all liked to route for…or anyone we would want children to look up to.

Good article and point of discussion. IF things play out as your story might suggest, IF the N.F.L. (the regulators of his industry) give their OK for MV to return, IF Mr. Blank (his employer) wants him back, IF the coaching staff (his supervisors) want him back and IF his teammates (his co-workers) want him back, then if MV wishes, HE GOES BACK TO WORK, starting Nov. 1st, as long as he satisfies the requirements of the Federal court system. If PETA (etc) don’t like it, THEY CAN LEGALLY PROTEST; if certain fans don’t like it, THEY CAN STAY AWAY FROM THE GAMES. It’s called America, folks. Michael Vick has his Constituional rights and the rest of us have our freedom of choice.

The owners/upper management of the falcons are weak. Their star QB has been thrown under a bus and they wont even come to his rescue. If Vick don’t play this season a lot of us want watch the Falcons, ticket sales will suffer and The Falcons will have a losing season. Why do you think they are now rated 30 of 32? If Vick is found not guilty and return to the NFL I hope its not with the Falcons. I think he will definitely do better with a team that cares something about their players and don’t mind facing public opinion and telling some organizations to lay off. I will follow him wherever he goes, and I’d rather watch Vick in a losing effort than any other QB in a winning effort.

This whole Vick situation could be a blessing. The Falcons are now back at square one. New coach, new QB, new system. NOW is the time to lay the foundation of a class organization such as existed when Bill Walsh et al were running the 49’ers. I encourage everyone to read Walsh’s obit. What wonderful coach and human being. Accordingly, he and his staff obtained good players, made them better players, and won championships. There are no short-term fixes to the Falcon’s problems. The team needs to be able to focus upon one game at a time, and do the best they can. I have a hard time believing the Falcon’s were gonna be all that great even with Vick. This year may not be pretty, but it can be a beginning. Who knows, I might even become a Falcon fan.

If you think that the Feds won’t make up evidence and pay witnesses to get a conviction, you have lost your mind. I have seen it happen first hand to people I know and it is enough to make you sick. And this is not a racist thing either. The people I know who the Feds went after were like me…White.
I also agree with something someone else added earlier. If he killed dogs, that is bad, but is it worse than the guys in the league beating their wives or selling drugs? These guys get very little press time and an anger management class. Think about it. Which is worse? Killing dogs or selling drugs to kids and beating your wife? Yet to listen to the media and a bunch of you so called fans, you would think Vick is the worst criminal possible. Lets let everything play out. Give Joey the ball and let him do what he can do. Give Vick an open mind until the end. If he is found not guilty, then don’t assume he did it anyway.

With Dream Team II in place, Vick will get at least a couple blacks on the jury for another OJ “not guilty” repeat.
The problem is, a not guilty verdict doesn’t prevent the league from suspending Vick for the 2008 season (the 2007 season will be effectively over by the end of the trial). This will all be a faint memory by the 2009 season, but Vick will have been out of football long enough (yet in the league for almost 10 years at that point) where his skills will be questionable.
Vick’s career in the NFL is over, except with the Jokeland Raiders.

Hungjury, George! I can’t believe what you are saying! You sound as if the justice system is fair and that blacks should be fair by and they should find him guilty. .. That’s fair!? At this stage, that’s about as fair as the all white jurors were during the lynching trials of the Civil rights era. Look! Let’s keep race out of this. I don’t know what race you are.. but let’s not talk about race, fairness and our justice system. Let’s talk football…..just football….

Oh’ hell no. This is America folks and anyone can be fired for any reason. Mike Vick hasn’t been convicted of anything and just because he hasn’t doesnt mean he can’t be fired. All this innocent til proven guilty is all fine and good,And thats why Vick still walks around a free man. To “OpenAndHonest”:
Okay, I’ll admit it. America is NOT receptive to a quarterback with a “hip-hop attitude.” Responsible white and black Americans see this “hip-hop attitude” as being anti-civility, anti-education, and anti-law enforcement. We see the “hip-hop attitude” fueling rising crime rates, rising kids-born-out-of-wedlock rates, rising drop-out rates, and a general decline in the system of morals that makes this society work. Rarely before has a lifestyle caught on within a sizeable sub-population simply because it opposes the very institutions (education, compliance with the law, and respect of property and personal civility) that make the rest of the population successful.
So, let’s put the cards on the table — MV probably IS being judged more harshly because of his “hip-hop attitude” … because the majority of responsible white and black Americans are increasingly fed up with what it represents … which incidentally is well illustrated by MV’s behavior in this case.
And before you rail about how may white kids are drawn to hip-hop … yes, it’s true, to a point. All children are drawn to rebelliousness. However, “good” parents struggle each and every day to keep their kids from being sucked into the anti-social and self-destructive mindset glorified by the “hip-hop attitude.”

To Mr. Hung Jury, That’s a very idiot and miss informed thing to write. In reverse that’s like saying if it’s an all white jury he might as well throw in the towel because they want even listen to the defense because they have already convicted him or whites don’t convict wealthy, famous people because Robert Blake got off. An indictment suppose to look bad otherwise it would look as if the government wasting money. Have you ever considered Vick set up and funded the company for the sole purpose of actually selling dogs, then turned the company over for them to run. They actually misused that trust and poor judgement on Vick to lend his name out. Tony was actually convicted from the property in 2004. So before you pass judgement, listen to both sides. Tony admitted Vick did not kill any dogs. So, I’m waiting to hear the defense of this stuff. Anyway, I think Arthur Blanks was clear he wanted Vick to take this year off and clear his name. Listening, to Vick I believe he wouldn’t want to further cause Arthur anymore trouble without his name being cleared first. So, we will not see Mr. Vick this year on the field.

Vick has already stated that he would only come back to ATL under the right circumstances, which implies he’s already considering other options.
Like I said earlier, once this thing blows away, and trust it will. Vick will once again be the most dynamic QB in the NFL, and his time in ATL will be a faint memory.
ATL will revert to the pre-Vick Falcoons and no better for them. By the way, did you save your paper bags from the 80’s, it’ll be time to wear them soon.
Hopefully, Vick goes to an team with some balls.

It is not important what color Michael Vick is. What is important is that Michael Vick allowed these terrible activities take place on his property. True he may have never physically killed a dog himself, he still is a part of the cruel business. I don’t think he deserves to play on any NFL team in the future. I can’t imagine anyone wanting him to be a part of their team. Any one with good judgement should want to distance themselves from this undesirable man.

And you want us to “get over OJ”? You wouldn’t be saying that if it were a white man that butchered two black people. I’m so tired of the pathetic double standards. You are blindly defending your own with no regard for the LAW. You are a blatant racist and hypocrite.

Clearly if we learn anything from the Duke Lacrosse Hoax is that one is innocent until proven guilty. Mr. Vick deserves that too. However once indicted the two Duke students were suspended from the University. However unfair in the end that was, it was probably best for those students & the other students considering the environment.
I really don’t see how Vick can be allow to play until this case is discharged. Sometimes Life is just unfair and the Falcons should not pay him for not playing. In the end at the very least Vick chose his associates and dog dighting was going on at his property. A two story shed painted black with a dog fighting pit, 50 plus pit bulls, four witnesses, and a co-conspirator are pretty damning evidence.

Tyger, it’s been explained here ad nauseum, and you still don’t get it, either because you don’t want to, or because you’re unable (and I’m not sure which is worse) —
“Due process” has no bearing whatsoever on whether a sponsor drops a spokesperson, or whether a private employer fires or suspends an employee. “Due process” only applies to the deprivation of personal liberty or property by a function of government. As many others have ably pointed out here, employers and sponsors owe duties ONLY to their shareholders, and therefore have an obligation to scrape dog-poop (pun intended) like MV off their corporate shoes lest responsible citizens stop buying their products because they continue to employ or market with said dog-poop. No “due process” involved. Understand now, I hope?

Why dont people read the indictment and assume Vick is guilty you ask??
Right here in ATL, 3 white cops falsified documents, kicked down a door and gunned down a 90 yr. old black woman and lied about it repeatedly.
Then tried to cover it up by killing their confidential informant in the aftermath. He had to jump outta the car at Varsity and call the Feds to save his life.
And what did the Feds do to them? They copped pleas and swept it under the rug.
Now, we’re just supposed to blindly trust you, just because you say so??

Animal control gives the animals an injection and they go to sleep. They aren’t hanged, electrocuted and beaten to death. The two are not the same.
And there wouldn’t be so many homeless animals being euthanised if it weren’t for dogfighters breeding them and ignorant people not spaying/neuteringtheir animals. Dog fighting directly contributes to the pet overpopulation problem that leads to so much euthanasia.
There is a reason that dog fighting is illegal in all 50 states. There is a reason it’s a felony. I respect people who reserve judgement until until the legal process plays out, but I can’t respect automatically defending him. If he is a felon, he needs to pay the price for the crimes he has committed .
You know, I knew white people that automatically defended the cops who beat Rodney King. I remember all of the bogus arguments they made up because they were determined to defend the cops solely based on the fact they were white. It’s the same thing African-Americans are doing here and did with OJ. Racism is racism no matter what color you are. Let’s all take a deep breath and stop attacking one another. This shouldn’t have anything to do with race.
If he’s guilty of a felony, he needs to go down. If he’s proven innocent, he deserves to play. It’s that simple. Quit muddying the waters with your own racism. It has no place here.

Yep, Those cops in the Katherine Johnson trial are wicked. I didn’t defend them because they are white. They are evil and I was just as outaged about their crimes as any other Atlantan. Thank Go djstice was served. They were justly convicted and are serving time.
There are white racists, but there are black ones, too. To those of you citing examples of whites harming blacks, there are jut as many stories about heinous things blacks have done to whites. There are good people and bad people of both races. How selective your memory is.
What about college students Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom? A group of black men car-jacked them, raped both the man AND the woman. Cut of Channon’s breast and set her on fire, castrated Christopher. and then killed him, too. Google it. It’s EVIL stuff. But I don’t judge all black people based on that. Those men were evil, but I know they don’t represent all blacks. Jeez - they were bad men, not bad BLACK men.
YOU CAN’T JUDGE PEOPLE BASED ON RACE. EVEN IF YOU’RE BLACK. I’m sick of white and black dumba$$es. You make this world a lot harder for the rest of us.

Wahoo, you prove my point exactly. I mean you no disrespect whatsoever, but you, like most other people don’t understand that the “conspiracy” element of the indictment is a felony. The “dog fighting” charges themselves are misdemeanors. Thus, the five years to which every one refers (you add the year for the misdemeanor and you’d get 6 years) is for the conspiracy, not the “dog fighting.” Conspiracy, in and of itself is a crime. Mr. Vick and his co-defendant face more time for the conspiracy than the “dog fighting.” Additionally, because Mr. Vick has no criminal record, even if he were convicted under the federal sentencing guidelines, although he faces 5 years (he does not face 6 years in truth, because the events in question appear to be running simultaneously and thus conviction of both the felony conspiracy and the misdemeanor dog fighting would result in a concurrent sentence), he is more likely to receive probation, and if the judge wants to sentence him to prison his sentence would be about 4 months in club fed.
As to the physical evidence, again no disrespect to you, but you do not understand what evidence is, legally. Evidence is probative of guilt or innocence if it, in and of itself tends to prove either guilt or innocence. Thus, the question is whether the rape-stand in and of itself proves that Mr. Vick or his co-defendants engaged in dog fighting? I believe that even you would have to answer no (at this point). The possession of the rape-stand does not tend to prove dog-fight; it merely proves that the kennel was making the dogs mate. Moreover, remember that the kennel was a breading operation. The kennel obtained a license to bread. Thus, such an instrument is common to many kennels with a breading license. That is why the Surry County Prosecutor said that everything on the property served legitimate business purpose when he investigated. Thus, many the physical items you mentioned and mentioned in the indictment don’t in and of themselves prove dog fighting.
In fact, the pry bar alone would not tend to establish anyone’s guilt. The most incriminating physical evidence that can come from the property, if any, has to come in the form of injured dogs. There is mentioned of injured dogs, but I have seen any so as to evaluate whether it is an injury consisted with dog fighting. Even the fact that dogs were killed is not damning, because kennels commonly put dogs to sleep. The question is whether the allegations of executed dogs can be substantiated by independent evidence (which does not depend for its worth upon the testimony of an interested witness, i.e. someone who’s testimony is bought and paid for).
As to the particulars of the indictment, you must understand legalese, because it doesn’t appear that you do. Mr. Taylor says that the money obtained from betting was generally shared among all co-defendants except Mr. Vick. That statement raises this question. What does the word “generally” mean? We don’t know because we have not been proved any evidence or allegation as to that point. Additionally, it suggests, rather conclusively, that Mr. Vick didn’t take money from the bets. A “bet,” by its very nature requires a wager between two parties. If Mr. Vick didn’t receive any money than it cannot be said that he made a bet, because he possessed no wager. Definitions and particularity’s are crucial in law, because Mr. Vick’s very guilt and innocence will weigh upon particularly defined elements and not general or broad generalizations. As to the funding, you construe that beyond the contours of the indictment. Mr. Taylor clearly avers that he used the money he made from the dog fights (the money he received from the bets) to fund his share of the dog fighting operation. That is why the indictment reads that Mr. Vick “largely” funding the operation rather than saying that he “completely” funded the operation. Additionally, the use of the word “funded” is ambiguous at this point. The use of the word funded in Mr. Taylor’s plea indicates only that Mr. Vick paid for the property. Beyond specifying what Mr. Vick funded other than the property, the term funded is specifically ambiguous. Although you seem to construe Mr. Taylor’s statement that Mr. Vick “largely funded the operation,” as being complete funding, the term the indictment used was “largely.” That raises the question of what does the word “largely” mean here. Does it mean completely? Does it mean that he spent more money than anyone else? The answers are important, because complete funding would be very bad, while the fact that he spent more money “could be” less adverse to Mr. Vick. In the latter instance he could have spent all of the money upfront, before the dog fighting began. I don’t know, but it is interesting.
As a lawyer I am far more emotional about crimes, because I put everything into perspective. While it may be that you would make killing a dog as heinous a killing a person, the law does not share your empathy. That is why killing a dog is at most a misdemeanor or the lowest felony (neither of which result in real prison time if any), while murder is punishable by 25 years or more or life in prison or death.
If Mr. Vick is guilty, then he should do what everybody else convicted of a crime does, go to prison (pay his debt to society), get out and get a job (because nobody wants any person to be a burden to society), and be a law abiding citizen. The fact that his qualifications, qualify Mr. Vick for a job that pays him millions, doesn’t make working a privilege. I hear in the emotion of people that they want him to pay his debt, infinitely, and not be able to work again, unless it is for menial labor. While I understand the former concept, I believe that the latter concept is really a form of envy. And envy is absolutely irrelevant to crime and punishment. Additionally, the debt which the public demands is not commensurate with the laws view of crimes and punishment, where the law would give Mr. Vick a year for dog fighting and the public would rather see him rot in hell, forever.

If you can get over your hate for white people (or is it just white men?)for one minute, go and actually read the plea agreement and supporting facts documents.
The statement of facts doc he signed with his plea says he accompanied vick to a nubmer of dog fights and each on e is spelled out.

There is no way he will get convicted if blacks are on the jury. The prosecution could have a video tape of Vick cutting a dogs throat and they would say it was a frame up by the police. Dont you understand this by now? They do not care about what is wrong or right. If they did they wouldnt fill up all of the prisons in the country. Mark my words, NO WAY will he get convicted if there is even 1 black on the jury.

Some of you folks are having a hard time differentiating the killing (euthanizing, hunting)and torturing (fighting, electrocuting, bludgening)of animals.Deer populations have to be controlled to keep them from coming through windshields. Don’t try justifying dogfighting with the comparison of the necessary sport (which I do not participate)of deer hunting. Not to mention one is legal and one is not. Nuff said.

I am sick of hearing racism, racism, racism. IF he did this, take his black a* to jail. If a white man is found torturing animals, take his white a* to jail. And about Vick not being found guilty in the public eye…to he77 with that. That is why have media and brains. If ANYONE with brains reads the 18…YES…18 page indictment, he or she would see that this isn’t one charge on one day nor is it about knowledge of something going down at property which he doesn’t know anything about. Page after page puts Vick in the middle of the allegations. Furthermore, they have many cooperating “snitches” that are ready to turn mike in to save themselves. Are you all so dang stupid to continue to beg for this man to come back when there is the slightest chance he did this. Could you look at your child and say…you know, there is a good chance that he may have done this…but we need him on the team so let’s just act like there is no chance and blame it on WHITEY. MV is not being hunted by WHITEY. MV put himself in this situation…you can take the thug out of the hood but you can’t take the hood out of the thug. His largest alleged bet….001% of his contract with the falcons. That is like, ok, lets say someone makes 100,000 per year. I think I will throw it all away for a $100 dollar terrible decision that shows how freaking selfish this monster is as well. If they find him innocent, let him play. However, until then, don’t put MV as the poster boy for ANY organization. Should he be paid, sure. However, the minute he is found guilty, if he is found guilty, take it all away.

CARTER -
Dog fighting is NOT a misdemeanor. On May 3, 2007 President Bush signed a new law making dog fighting a FELONY.
http://content.hamptonroads.com/story.cfm?story=126350&ran=76756
If convicted, Michael Vick will be a felon. He won’t even be able to vote.
And to those of you saying this is a cultural thing, Well, slavery was socially acceptable for centuries. Could slave owners have just said “this is our culture” and been excused? No. It was wicked and evil and was finally stopped. That is a desperate defense.
If felonies are culturally ok in the black community, then I am afraid for America. You are grasping at straws. I don’t believe most blacks are that ignorant. You would defend Vick no matter what. It’s laughable.

Thanks Carter for bringing some intellect to the discussion. Truth I wouldve read your comments except for the CAPS…
I’ve written and called in to the various radio stations with one question.
Why hasnt anyone in the media publicly distinguished between an illegal dogfighting operation and a legal dog breeding business?
I get cut off the air or my comments dont get posted, why wont they address this question?
Thanks again Carter, for at least recognizing the difference between the two and bringing a lil higher order thinking to the blog.

So, felonies are no big deal in the black community? That explains why blacks are are 13% of the American population and 49% of the prison population. No wonder black women complain how hard it is to find a good black man.
Even Al Sharpton came out against Vick. You guys defending him don’t have a leg to stand on.

Back @Addicted
I know exactly what would happen if I were charged with a felony, but its still not right. As far as your comment about work being a privilage, EVERY AMERICAN CITIZEN OF WORKING AGE HAS THE RIGHT TO WORK IN THIS COUNTRY. If your observation is the case, then why do so many people (not saying you because I don’t know you, and certainly not I) get upset with wellfare, or the people that live in governemt housing? Its not their fault, they’re just not priviledged enough to work.
And bullets do not always lead to almost instantaneous death. Ever heard of lead poisoning or paralyzation, or just plain suffering from a gunshot wound?
My point toward NASCAR is the fact that people can be seriously hurt, mangled, or killed, so why isn’t it considered barbaric since so many people like to use the term barbaric. Yes, the drivers have make the choice to do this, but those deer being hunted don’t have a choice do they? And if anyone wants to say “but that helps control the deer population” need to think about the reason that we have Animal Control. Yeah, to control the dog and cat population.
Also, I don’t know if you’re a vegan or not, but if not, you ever think about how that hamburger became a hamburger?
And for your hunting is legal comment, its legal because state governments make money off of the licensing. Dog fighting would be impossible to regulate or make money off of because it can take place anywhere without people knowing. Whereas hunting, someone within a mile’s range will hear guns being fired, dead deer in teh bed of a truck. In other words, its pretty easy to know if someone is hunting or not.
As far as me making a great point, to you maybe not, to others, maybe. Its up to each to decide. Point is “barbarianism” is “barbarianism”, no matter the animal.

TO bdog22, Hate is not in my blood sir…Especially for my boss and/or future employer who will more than likely be a White Man. The argument I was making (came from the accurate and OBJECTIVE news stations confirmed this), was that Tony Taylor claims VICK FINANCED THE OPERATION not participated in the actual killing of dogs. The things people are accusing him of…i.e. electrocuting the dogs, hanging them, shooting them, etc for not performing well…I did not see that stated anywhere, so Tony Taylor is not testifying that Michael Vick did any of those things. NOT EXCUSING the SEVERITY of the CRIME EVEN IF HE ONLY FINANCED IT!!! The fact of the matter is, they are all being accused all together so the electrocuting and hanging that is being asserted was not necessarily done by Vick himself but by his CO-DEFENDANTS since they are on the indictment together…But Do not attack my character cause I can assure you I am fair and accurate and balanced in my reporting and coverage despite the race and I will defend a Black Person if I see fit and witness unfair portrayal in the media and critcism from ignorant fans. Never will I condemn ANY MAN for a crime he has not been proven guilty of or the evidence I’ve seen with my eyes that says he is.

If Vick is found not guilty then he needs to be in a falcon’s uniform. Just like it was said earlier. I remember when you couldn’t see a falcon’s game on TV because of the black out rule. Bottom line Vick gives us the best chance to win. If Vick was not here we wouldn’t have two Monday night games and a Thanksgiving Day game on primetime TV. Vick has done big things for this city on and off the field. We as a city need rally beyond our quarterback. NO ONE is talking about Vick’s community work. At this time we do not have the truth or what actually when down. There is only one courtroom, one judge, and twelve jurors. If you’re not a part of that then you need to let Vick have his due process. As far as this being a black and white thing, it is the society that we live in. Bottom line, when you’re white, you’re innocent until proven guilty. When you’re black, you’re guilty until proven innocent. WAKE UP, this is OUR ATLANTA FALCONS STARTING QUARTERBACK.

To whomever said that if they had a videotape, blacks still wouldnt convict is wrong. Thats exactly what its going to take to convince me.
I need a videotape showing Vick killing dogs, training dogs and fighting dogs.
I need a videotape showing Vick placing bets, receiving or paying money explicitly for dogfighting.
I need a videotape or recorded conversation of Vick telling Taylor and others to go buy a house and set up a dogfighting operation.
Provide that type of evidence then I’ll agree with you, that Vick is guilty.
The testimony of Taylor alone are not enough, nor the confidential witnesses’, like the one who sued Vick for $62 billion and claimed he was a member of Al Quaida.
But the difference between us is, even if he is guilty. All I require is that he serve his sentence.
You on the other hand are jealous of his money and celebrity and that is the source of your hate.

Falconian,
You are the problem. On every message board since this thing came out every single black has given this racism crap (of course mixed in with their racism towards us), but do you see a single one of them taking others to task for it?
But when I get frustrated at the insanity of how messed up we are with this race sh** it takes one of my people 2 minutes to jump on and try and prove your not a racist.
Guess what, you are.
But it’s ok because black racism makes your’s look tame.
So tonight, when your at home cowering in a corner, trying to think of ways to assuage your guilt for slavery make sure to teach your daughter that she will be a racist if she does’nt spread her legs for the first buck who strolls out of the ghetto. Then you can have a whole brood of mud puppy grand kids on welfare and you can look yourself in the mirror and know your not a racist.

Hey bud. I hate that happened to you and I hope you learned from it. I also don’t think it was right for Domino’s to fire you until proven guilty. If you were a driver, they could’ve easily put you behind the counter.
Were you a delivery person, DRIVING for Domino’s? If so, that could actually be a true liability to Domino’s in the fact that you could be driving under the influence while delivering for them.
As far as the Falcons and the NFL is concerned, what liability would they have where dogs or dogfighting is concerned? Maybe if it were happening in the Dome or at training camp, but that’s about it. No liability for them. This thing is all about opinion and opinions shouldn’t get someone fired.

It seems that this case is multi-faceted….related to among other things, Football, legal, commercial and attitude. In respect to football, Mike Vick was on his last leg with the Falcons anyway. EVERYONE will admit that vick is a great athlete and exciting to watch. However, lest anyone forget, Vick was charged with increasing his completion percentage to 65%. Depending on the year, this is at least 15% above his norm. If anyone really looked, Vick was getting worse every year that he played. Frankly, in my opinion this is because more was expected of his every year. That is he was expected to become an NFL quarterback. And this is where Vick failed. He just can not pick up handle the mental aspect of the game. If you told Vick where to throw the ball and then gave him the option of running when things got a little tough…fine he could do that. The NFL is not that way though. The defenses are complicated and the players are smart and they adjust. All the great NFL quarterbacks have been and are intelligent and thus able to read and react to defenses. The pure fact is that Vick is NFL quarterback material because he is just not that intelligent.
As for the commercial aspect of this, yes Vick does or did put people in the seats and yes he does sell product and fankly, this is why he was given the big contract with the Falcons and his sponsors. However, with this indictment and with his other recent problems, Vick is just far too controversial for advertisers to stick with and thus coupled with his lack of pure quaterback skills, right now he is just not useful to the Falcons or really to anyone in the NFL. Regardless of what anyone says, the NFL does not want this kind of negative publicity. Whatever you may think, PETA, the humane society and other animal rights groups have clout and they know how to make themselves be heard.
As for the legal part of this…yes everyone is allwed due process and that will happen here. This is the U.S. Government vs. Michael Vick. To them, Vick is not black, he is a person who has been charged with a crime and they will treat him as such….giving him every right afforded him by the constitution. At the same time, because they are the government, they will also not make any allowances for his fame or his color and will prosecute as vigourously as they can according to the evidence.
Lastly (for me)comes Vick’s attitude. That is, the way that Vick has acted over the past while. Guilty or not, his other legal problems added to not showing up at a congresstional function added to blaming a sponser (Airtran) for his mistake all point to someone with an attitude problem. There are many reports of Vick acting pompous and mean spirited around the Atlanta area. Vick has proved that he can not make good decisions and that he chooses to hang out with the wrong people.
Everyone can change and sometimes they can actually get smarter. Lets hope for his sake Vick does that. For me, I would prefer Vick does not play for the Falcons again and for their sake I would hope that the Falcons are able to recoup some of the advance money they gave him.

I an a black man and I own two rescued pit bulls. They are good, loving dogs because I have not abused or tortured them or trained them to be be violent. They are members of our family. There is NO excuse for anyone capable of torturing them. It’s evil.
I’m sorry, but IF the man’s guilty, he’s got to pay for his crimes. I am NOT going to defend Vick just because he looks like me. Blacks can’t scream racism every time a brother is charged with a crime. It’s become a one size fits all, knee jerk excuse. Remember the boy who cried wolf?
Not all blacks are ignorant and violent. Both my dogs and I are unfairly judged sometimes because of the way we look. Neither of us can rise above the stereotypes some of you people are perpetuating.
Vick made his bed, and he has to lie in it. Stop the lame a** excuses out there. Stop perpetuating the stereotype of thug, criminal black men.

It’s sad to see this just turn into a racial issue. I’m white and this has nothing to do with race for me. If you had asked me about two years ago what I thought of Mike Vick, I would’ve told you that he was the most exciting player in the NFL to watch and that he WAS the Falcons franchise. In the last two years, though, my opinion has slowly started to change. Ever since he got into the league, everyone has been saying “once his passing improves, he’ll be unstoppable.” Every week, he amazes us by rushing for over 100 yards but disappoints us by only passing for about 100 as well. So we can look forward to about 200-250 total yards from Vick each week. Considering how many other QBs there are in the league that can consistently give you about 300-400 yards of offense week in and week out, Vick’s never really offered much more than “something exciting to watch.” A lot of other QBs out there could pile up a lot more offensive yards for us AND (unlike Vick) complete some passes in the red zone. So my impression initially started to slip because he simply wasn’t getting the job done at his position. Then there were the little things that started to pile up. The guy knowingly gave VD to a girl he was sleeping with. Did that turn me against him? No. Was it kinda sleazy and made me lose a little respect for him? Yes. Then there was the game where he flipped off US, THE ATLANTA FALCON FANS. The same fans he’s reaching out to now and counting on for support are the ones he was giving the bird to last season. And, in interviews around that time, he was also quoted blasting other teammates for their performance and also criticizing the coaches. Do I still feel a strong desire to protect him after he’s shown that he’s more than willing to throw his teammates and coaches under the bus and doesn’t mind telling his supporters where they can stick it? No. Then came the infamous water bottle incident. I’m 50-50 on whether or not the compartment was actually for drugs. What bothered me the most about it though was that it was a sign of such sheer stupidity that he would try walking through an airport with a water bottle with a secret compartment. A 10-year-old could tell you that was moronic. When you put all that stuff together, you start to question the guy’s integrity, leadership, decision-making skills, etc. You start to realize that this guy, who was one of the biggest and most recognizable names in professional sports, makes really stupid choices and maybe isn’t that nice of a guy. Before the dogfighting incident even came up, Vick managed to spend the last couple years disappointing and disenchanting a lot of the fans in Atlanta. My personal selfish approach had become, “If the guy is never going to learn to pass the ball, then why should I put up with all his stupid antics?” With the dogfighting incident, this just pushed a lot of people over the edge with Vick. You could tell that a lot of people who follow football were already starting to turn on him, primarily because he was starting to pick up the label of being the most “overrated” QB in the NFL and just managed to get himself in the news every now and then for all the wrong reasons. This has all been like the perfect storm of backlash against Vick. A lot of people are complaining that there isn’t this much press and animosity when a professional athelete beats or rapes a woman. That’s totally true. The sad fact about professional sports figures is that beating and raping women is nothing new for the profession. Almost every single day, you can count on a professional athelete getting mentioned for something like assault, rape, DUI, drug possession, etc. We’re almost numb to that sort of thing. I’ll admit, though, that the bigger the name, the bigger the reaction. If Roddy White or Brian Finneran got busted for the same thing, you think this is front page news for 2 weeks straight? No. This is #7! Vick is the face of the Falcons franchise and one of the faces of the NFL. Also, this crime is new and unique, and that makes it all the more appealing for the media to jump all over it. Why was Pacman Jones such a big deal? Because that was the first time that Goddell really made an example of someone with his new conduct policy. If dogfighting rings were suddenly exposed left and right all over the country and dozens of professional atheletes were shown to be involved, this same story gets just a tiny fraction of the press it’s getting now. Are people after him because he’s black? With the exception of a few stupid rednecks that should just stay at their little klan rallies and keep away from the rest of normal society, this isn’t about race. There are a lot of dog owners and animal lovers out there who just get sick to their stomachs when they think of ANYONE doing those kinds of things to an animal. If they found any person, celebrity or not, committing those kinds of acts on dogs, they would want that person thrown in jail. Vick is accuse of doing this for sport. For fun. For illegal gambling. Would most of us be less inclined to want him thrown in jail if we never even knew about the water bottle incident, flipping the fans off, the Ron Mexico story, etc? Probably. If this was the first screw-up on the part of Vick, a lot of us would probably just be a little bit shocked and confused, not knowing what to think of him. And, to be completely honest, I believe that a lot of people would probably be a little more reluctant to scream for him to never play for the Falcons again if he hadn’t already started to pick up a reputation for being the most overrated quaterback in the league. I wish it didn’t boil down to race for so many people. I don’t know squat about what it means to be black. From what we’ve seen in cases like this and OJ, it seems that, when a black public figure is in peril, a good number of black people step up and take the approach like this is matter of white America unfairly ganging up on a defenseless black person. The question is no longer about guilt or innocence, but about race. Once the divide becomes apparent, the response becomes even more destructive. Because, while white America is seen as “coming down on the black man,” black America is now seen as putting racial unity above right or wrong - sending out the message that it doesn’t matter how horrible a crime you may have committed since the black community will all just going to stick together anyhow. I wish this trial would just start today. Because, until it’s over, we’re really arguing over nothing. Right now, it doesn’t matter what my gut tells me about Vick’s guilt or innocence. What matters is what is actually proven. And if some white person ends up on that jury and votes him guilty just because he’s black or some black person votes him not guilty just because he’s black, when then those folks should just go to hell.

yrs in league 6 5
passsing yards 11,505 12,478
touchdowns 71 72
comp % 53.5 55.2 better stats for worse teams in fewer years! if you want excitement go to six flags; if you want to win in the nfl get a qb that can manage the game and make good decisions.
maybe harrington should now be the highest paid player in the nfl

I have never been a vick apologist and don’t even believe he would have ever developed into a true all around QB. That being said how in the hell did ray lewis get away with murder of two human beings and not even get suspended for one game? Do you folks realize that ray lewis got a plea bargain in the case against him? That guy was guilty of at least accessory to murder and plea bargained down to obstruction of justice. Some in his entourage went to prison and did the time but ray lewis was guilty as hell and never lost an endorsement nor was he suspended one game by the NFL. Didn’t johnathon babineaux murder his girlfriends dog in cold blood? Well he was on the practice field this morning running drills. Am I missing something here? I know that two wrongs don’t make a right but shouldn’t the NFL be more consistent in punishment. This whole thing is because of PETA which makes everyone want to distance themselves from mike vick. It all boils down to the almighty dollar. Does anyone really believe that nike gives a s** about those pit bulls? Nike had children from third world countries working in sweat shops for christ sakes! Now I’m supposed to believe that they are upset that mike vick fought some damn dogs. The world we live in is so full of hypocrosy that it makes me want to vommit. Yes mike vick should be punished sternly but not have his whole career taken away over this incident. Ray lewis can murder humans and still play but mike vick can never play again for fighting dogs? Is that the message we are being sent?

The falcons never received the type of media game airtime until Michael Vick. Many of you live here and I am assured don’t support any local pro teams with your dollars. Your opinion will not matter about Michael Vick because the team isn’t spending your money. My money has been spent on tickets and I want to see hime play unless proven guilty. I was at the dome when it was empty before he came. Atlanta does not deserve a SUPERSTAR that draws a sell out crowd. They are known for letting superstars go and they go on to win rings elsewhere .

July Jones The only thing Vick has verified is his own low character.Only a mental midget or yahoo would see this as somehow confirming a stereotype.Warren Moon,Donavan Mcnabb,Vince Young, etc should be judged by THEIR actions and not someone elses.MLK said over 40 years ago, judge by the content of character not the color of skin.I haven’t seen any low character traits in Mcnabb,Young,Moon or others. This should be about Vick and from what we already know I never want him to wear a Falcons uniform again….never !!!…ps— I’d be proud to welcome Mcnabb if management were to trade for him.

Mr. Gilley, Vick didn’t carry the Falcons on his back he dragged them down. Vick’s continued moronic behavior is a godsend to the Falcons, now they can get out from under his crushing contract. You won’t see him on the field Oct. 1 because the Falcons are a TEAM and they don’t need a ding-dong circus going on throughout the whole season. The Pinhead is gone, hail Joey, DJ, or Chris.

I think I’ve left the US. I thought we had a system of innocent until proven guilty. In addition, I haven’t heard of landlords or property owners being brought up on charges for things their tenants do while living in the property. As a matter of fact tenants have slightly more rights than the owner (i.e., even if they stop paying you can’t put them out until you go to court). An indictment does not mean guilt; however, a conviction with the right friends does get you a pardon. I sick and tired of all the double talk!!! Let the justice system run it’s course. A please give the jury members some credit at least they would have taken the time to serve.
Have you stopped to think that there’s some dislike and hate from the cousin towards Mike.
My two requests are: 1) Please stop condemning any man or woman in the court of public opinion before their day in court. Everyone condemned Richard Jewel and that man had nothing to do with it. 2) Pray for Michael Vick because he’s going to need it!

Just hope the GA Dome has extra security, based on what I’ve already seen. Vick supporters will be out in full force and if just one PETA or Vick hater gets in there face its going to get ugly. But most of the haters on the blog do not come to games anyhow so it may not be a problem. Just chants in support and a few brave souls against MV7. I could be wrong but seems like Civil War number 2 could take place at the GA Dome. I hope I am wrong but I’ve seen co-workers, softball teammates, strangers get in to explosive situations over this and they weren’t even drunk like many will be at the Dome. The Falcons have to do more than just ignore this and pretend like its going to heal itself. You have a divided fan base and you are letting the media fuel it even worse. Sports is a huge part of the American Fabric and can create unity and division. I would suggest a town hall meeting of sort to air this mess out. There is a happy medium, yet I know zealots on both sides want it all. The Falcons are convicting based on public outcry and even if found guilty, just not the way to do it. The chicken approach the Falcons are taking is going to destroy this Franchise, which doesn’t exactly have a stong history to begin with. There is no way the other guys on this team will be able to perform under the current stance. Most may just mail it in, and what decent free agent in the future will want to play here. While whites can’t understand how blacks can be leary to the “Justice System”, Blacks see it as “Just US”, the ones who the government cracks down on for the same crimes committed by peers of opposite races. While its a certainty if they digged hard enough, you really believe Brett Favre from deep, deep Mississippi has never saw a c** fight or dogfight or two. Get real?

It’s NOT just pitbulls that suffer.
Dog fighters also steal people’s PETS to use as “bait” to train the fighting dogs. If you have a golden retriever, lab (ANY breed of dog) or a cat go missing, remember that THOUSANDS of missing pets end up stolen and ripped apart as bait. It’s NOT just pitbulls that suffer. These people are THEIVES and there is also usually DRUG activity. That is most often how they are caught.
This was the case with Vick , too. There was a search warrant served on his property b/c of his cousin’s drug activity. Oh yeah, there is also illegal gambling. There are MANY crimes deeply embedded in the dog fighting world.
These are the scum bag thugs of society.
Vick was born to a 16 year old unwed mother in a public housing project. It’s a shame he couldn’t leave that thug world behind and get respectable friends.

Rusty, dude…
Legal or illegal has nothing to do with will of the majority of the people. It is the will of the government to control the people (even though it is supposed to be the other way around). Unfortunatley, we the people have lost control of the government, hence the Bush Administration’s ability to “reinterpret” or totally disregard the Constitution.
The majority of laws passed now have very little to do with the will of the people. But, since you brought it up, why don’t we ask a few?
How many of you on this blog had the chance to vote on whether dog fighting should be illegal, or a felony? Or better yet (sorry its off topic, but it seems these boards stay off topic) how many laws have you ever known passed that you were asked your opinion on?

I don’t believe the OJ jury was judged without merit. You don’t have to be a ‘black hater” to see the ignorance and lack of integrity of that jury. African Americans themselves perpetuate the aura of integral bankruptcy; it doesn’t take a “black hater” to see it, it’s there for ALL to see. To see ONE CASE, of their standing up, and refusing to accept the poor conduct of one of their own, would do more for race relations in this country than MLK ever did…

When one blogger said it doesnt matter if he is found not guilty because he is guilty in the eyes of the public that let me know that it doesnt matter because he wont win no matter what he does. Its a shame that even if he is found innocent people will still find a way to say he is guilty. Tony Taylor testimony basically goes against everything that was in the indictment. He said Vick funded the operation and he didnt kill the dogs yet reading some of these blogs I see people over looked that statment just so they could say he killed dogs. Wow what a country we live in. Taylor even said Vick didnt get any money from the fights so how is it that he was betting? I guess its hard to believe he gave them money for the kennel and they fought dogs because in most peoples minds he fought dogs. To the person who said they have a tape, stop kidding yourself. If they had a tape it would be everywhere and Vick would be done. Right now all they have is hearsay from people in jail and dogfighters them selves oh and dope heads. I dont know if he will be found innocent because most people will say he got off like OJ. I hope he is found innocent and goes to another team because the fan base in Atlanta sucks. The commish set himself up for a bad situation by suspending players like he did now he has to make a call on Vick although he hasnt been to trial or in trouble with the law before. The commish put himself in between a rock and a hard place. Its a shame that PETA has basically became judge and juror just so they could gain some exposure and make some money. If you dont think thats what they are after then i have some bridges in North Dakota that goes over some beaches i want to sell you. That one blogger had it right a lady can kill her kids and bury them and its barely a blimp on the map. You can post the story all you want but you cant honestly say it got as much attention as Vick. All for a person who’s story was questioned from the beginning. You didn’t hear white people running around saying that it was racist.
It’s both funny and sad how the issue of Mike Vick divides people so much. I find it uncomfortable to bring it up to my black friends and other work colleagues. They are sticking by their man — or at least most are.

To all of you who are saying that the Blacks on the jury, in the Mike Vick case will not convict him because of his race. Please look back in your history books…white juries, from the 70’s backwards, never, ever, convicted a white man who “lynched” or tortured a black human being, not to mention the Rodney King beating by those white cops who were acquitted by a white jury. So the O.J. case as well as the potential Mike Vick case may end up that way, without a conviction by a black jury, we are simply playing by your rules.

No, I don’t determine morals for everyone. But a FELONY is more than a moral issue. IT’S A LEGAL ONE.
I’m not “feminine”, I’m educated. I was raised by two professional, educated parents and four professional, educated grandparents. I’m just not ignorant ghetto. Nobody in my family has ever been charged with a crime or been on public assistance. Looking at the way you write and the things you write, you can’t say the same.

Why has no one addressed the difference between an illegal dogfighting operation and a legal dog breeding business?
Moreover, exactly what is this court of public opinion I keep hearing about? Where does it meet? Who sits on it? What jurisdiction do they have? What laws/rules do they follow?
Or is it just who shouts the most and loudest?
Or who gets quoted/interviewed by the mainstream media?
And those contrary opinions denied by the gatekeepers dont get heard thereby giving a false feeling of superiority and righteousness.
In sum, there is no court of public opinion, its just the same ole white folks from the 1800’s.

Jake, where did you hear that from that Dogs enjoy love. In fact the Goose is more like the human than the dog. They mate for life and the male goose supposedly takes care of the family. I like the goose. They do not bow to the will of humans. They are who they are and if you love the goose it is actually because it is God’s creature and not because he is faithful to a human.
You feed to goose he doesn’t care. He’ll come back for more, but he is not going to leave his family for you. Now the moose is another animal I love. It is a known fact that one shouldn’t go near the children of the Moose. If the moose feels that its children are threatened, they will stomp you to death. The moose is protective. The dog…I’m not a big fan. All these people running around talking about the dog, the dog is not that intelligent. He can be trained to do just about anything you want him to do. That’s why I’m afraid that as a nature lover you dog lovers have an unhealthy love for animals.

To JAKE BOGARTIS & HUNG JURY: It seems you, among others, are using, or misusing this MVick situation to hide or deny your preexisting racism towards Blacks. HUNG JURY, why do you feel it is impossible for Black people to render a fair verdict? Remember, it was a all White jury that found those cops, that beat Rodney King senseless, not guilty even though the episode was recorded on tape. But your racist mentality can only process negative imagines and ideas as it conceivably relates to Blacks.
JAKE HOGARTIS, you obviously possess the same racist mentality. You judge an entire race of people by the perceived acts of, or accusations of one person. Yet, your weakminded racist mentality won’t allow you to see, or accept the vile uncivilized behavior committed by Whites throughout history. How would you judge a race where people within that race are the biggest perpetrators of serial rape, murder, bombings and pornography. Also, the largest number of child molestors, mass murders, and people committing beastiality are also members of that race. And what about all of the documented cases of incest and children that murder their parents and parents that murder their children. Virtually every case of cannibalism documented in this country has been committed by a member of this race. CAN YOUR RACIST MENTALITY FIGURE OUT WHICH RACE CONTAINS THE MAJORITY OF INDIVIDUALS, AND HOW WOULD YOU CLASSIFY THE INTEGRITY OF THAT RACE?
IF YOU CLOWNS WANT TO SEE SOMEONE THAT LACKS INTEGRITY, LOOK IN A MIRROR.

Bo,
There are a great many professionals that are crooks with a capital C.
The local government raided Vick’s property in April. I want to know why they are able to use a law established in May against him. Some legal begal of federal law should clue me in on this one. If The law is retroactive, please let me know.
Also, for all of you that think that 54 dogs makes Vick a King Pin. In Tallahassee on Monday…the day that Tony Taylor entered his plea agreement, an anonymous person called in a tip on a man who was found to have 32 Pit Bulls on his property. He was not filthy rich. In fact he lived in a less than modest home.
Now on the other hand in Texas Thomas Weigner was found dead. Behind his house were 300 Pitt Bull trained to fight. Now where do the Surry County dogs fall. If Vick is truly the so called King Pin. Wouldn’t he have more than 54 dogs.
I saw the pictures of the Surry County property. There is a gate that separates the House and grounds from the dogs which were in the rear of that. There were sheds that were used as the pit. Even if Mike Vick visited the property on a regular basis there is a very good probability that he didn’t know anything about the fighting. Especially since he had a legal kennel.
I’m hoping that Vick will return after training camp and that the fans will put PETA in its place. I’m praying that Mike Vick will prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that he did not know about dog fighting at the Surry County property. And I also hope that if all of this happens that the people will accept this verdict and move on.

And I don’t live by the stupid ‘morals’ you people live by. Vick playing football is FAR more IMPORTANT than the lives of any dogs. Earlier, I posted that dogs can’t stop any worldly problems, I was wrong, in some SMARTER countries, THEY EAT THE MONGRELS. Like I said, if your dog is your only companion, or best companion, I understand why you are so upset. There were potential girlfriends killed.

Vick and his criminal defense team (since he must be a criminal, huh?)will count on the same strategy the late Johnnie Cochran used tho get O.J. off from brutally murdering two people. Get enough African-Americans on the jury and they will find him not guilty regardless of the evidence to the contrary. As they have been saying all along and wrong, it is all about race, however, in this case it will be just that and Vick walks along with is co-conspirators.

The murder of Emmett Till was a cowardly act and I, in no way, support what was done to him. That murder, in 1955, has never been resolved and no one was brought to trial for the crime. I don’t support murder, murderers, false accusations or any of the rest of it. False accusers, such as Tawana Brawley, are to be found in every race. I don’t support riots or would-be murderers such as Damien ‘Football’ Williams or the thousands of looters who materialize everytime there’s a Negro upheaval. What I do support is putting criminals, such as Vick, in prison for a long time. It’s going to happen. word to all ya’lls’ mammy.

Tell it like it is: Remember when the Falcons took the big chance and made him the #1 pick? Remember when we were fed stories of the team making sure that he was under their wing and being tutored on the correct way to maintain good standing in the NFL and community? At the same time he was purchasing the Virginia property and his “bro’s” were starting their dog pack.
With his open sexual morals and seemingly non-existent ethics, both Vick and his nowhere brother have proven themselves to be “nappy headed ‘hos.” Truly, he is nothing more than an over paid pet monkey on Blank’s organ grinder leash - at least until he can be booted to the curb to sing boom-shaka-laka with his meth. buddies.

This case is only about race. I’ll say it time and time again, the only true victories white America can score in football are racially motivated MORAL VICTORIES. You have these diehard animals lovers/killers calling for Vick’s head as if he had a young white woman raped at his home when he was there. Vick they couldn’t get you on anything else, and you gave them this dog stuff. Trust me, if two whale sharks were murdered the past year at the Georgia Aquarium and no one said anything, what’s the deal with all the hate towards Vick? A whale shark could be in a cage the size of the state of Texas and that would be too small. And you racists use words like “bloodsport”. Well Barbaro was recently euthanized because of an injury the horse suffered while racing. Ask Barbaro if horse racing isn’t a bloodsport? then the racist animal lovers use words like “relevance”. They say the poor dogs didn’t have a choice in participating in this bloodsport. Well that bass that’s mounted on your wall, you know, the big one that’s on your wall to remind you of your victory in killing it, was an unwilling participant. What about “Hogzilla”? Killed only because it was farm raised and grew really big. How about the endangered lions that are raised from cubs just so a rich white guy can pay money to shot it. Let’s ask Arthur Blank what he did this summer? The fact of the matter is all these animals are DEAD, and they were killed not for sustenance, but SPORT. But in America it’s always ok for white folk to live by the sword, but black folk are too barbaric to do the things they do. They galvanized their supposed moral cause the old fashioned way. They got a rich dark-skinned Black guy to take the fall. And wow, if you want to get white America to voice their opinon, make the enemy a rich popular Black man. They come out of the woodwork to support the cause, forget about rape, child molestion, homicide, beastiality, porn, and other horrific crimes. If the “cause” seeks to villify, ostracise, and lynch any rich Black guy, it has to be a good one. And please run whenever you hear them say it has nothing to do with race, that really means it has everything to do with race.

David Duke, the murderers of Emmett Till were brought to trial and they were found not guilty. Why? Because the jury was packed with their cousins, uncles and other relatives. The story is sad and a stain upon this nation. Mose Wright, Till’s uncle gave eyewitness testimony as to who came by cloak of darkness and took him away and yet still they were found not guilty.
Mose Wright had to leave Money Mississippi in fear for his life.

There is no defense for what happened with Emmett Till. No if’s, and’s but’s. SO many blacks suffered horribly. It makes me ill to think that human beings cold be so vicious.
Do you really feel that the jury’s action in that case that justifies modern black juries doing the same thing? The “you did it first” defense? I just wish we could look at the crime and not the race of the accused.
This just all makes me sick and sad. I am speaking from the bottom of m heart when I say I don’t hate black people. I wasn’t raised that way. That’s honestly not what’s in my heart.
To those of you that don’t understand my love of animals, will you give me the benefit of the doubt, please? My dogs have been so loyal and loving. I get so much unconditional love from them. it just hurts me to think anyone could take pleasure in hurting them. I don’t want to inflict pain on anything or anyone.
I just hope the truth is what matters in the end.

Things are going pretty well for MV now. One of his co-defendants has rolled over on him with no promise of leniency. The Feds are now free to offer MV a deal.
His bro turned on him and will fully co-operate. That almost guarantees a conviction for MV.
Now if the Feds say to conVick: “Work with us. Throw those three guys under the bus. We’ll give you a misdemeanor or two, some fines and probation. Next year you can start to collect on some of that $60 million still owed to you.” I’m still thinking Vick is gonna get off. Not because he’s rich, famous or black, but because he has the most to lose. If you were prosecuting this case, which of these co-defendants do you think it’d be easier to make a deal with? Whose lawyers would you rather base your career-advancement on? Michael Vick’s team, or a couple public defender’s?

There’s some racist, horrible language being thrown around here. It’s pathetic. Let’s face the fact that there are good people and evil people in ALL ethnic groups.

Hey Howard Cosell…you were right about the monkey on the organ-grinder leash…however, you are confused. Up until now it has been King Arthur on the leash and “HerpesBoy” Vick has been the one grinding out the music. When Vick broke his leg…who was pushing him around in a wheelchair? Yes, the BILLIONAIRE owner of the Falcons was pushing a punk ebonics-speaking thug in a wheelchair. Vick has such a smirk on his face! King Arthur may be rich..but he is not too smart. He has been smooching Vick’s blackbutt and the butts of the Afro-Americans of Atlanta for way tooooo long! By the way..the “G” stands for “Going to Jail”..LOL!!!

I have no desire to speak for anyone, other than myself. As for those who apologize to blacks and engage in discoiurse with them, that’s your decision and I don’t care. If you want to be associated with scum, be they white or black, everyone has the right to make their own decision. Whether Vick is a thug is a question that has been answered in the affirmative. There are players, black players, who are good people and who do a lot of good things in the community. Foremost among them is Dunn. He is a very good player and a good man as well. There are good people in the white race and in the black race. Blacks , I believe, comprise about 16% of the population of America. They comprise 40% of the prison population. In areas, such as Newark and Atlanta, where their numbers are greater they account for the majority of crimes committed. That is a fact, not something I’m manufacturing. Mike Vick, Adam Jones, Tank Johnson and others are part of the criminal element in the NFL and they all are black. That doesn’t mean there are no white criminals in the league. There are but they surely are outnumbered by their black counterparts. Mr. Goodell is thinning out the herd of criminals and i hope he will keep up the good work. Criminals are put into jail but the line of vicious, murdering scum is a long, and dark, one.

Vick wasn’t getting any better as a QB. He was getting worse as a person. I’m frankly glad we have a QB in camp who knows what to say. See Harrington’s comments today about the wideouts. Even if they flat out suck, he’s trying to pump them up.
Innocent until proven guilty only applies to the Govt and their ability to take away your rights, liberties etc. It doesn’t apply to the private sector. If Vick new nothing, I’m Arthur Blank.

I’m white and I absolutely supported Mike in the water bottle scandal. I’ve always stood up for him. This situation is just so much worse though. I can’t defend him anymore. He’s crossed over into federal felonies.
I would love it if he were vindicated, I hate to think that he is capable of those sick crimes. But if he is convicted, he has to pay his debt to society. No offense, but it sounds like you really hate all white people. Just because all you can see in this is race, does not mean that’s all I see.

LYDIA, everyone knows, or should know, that racist punks like Jake(Hate)Bogartis and David Puke, don’t represent anyone but themselves and/or other racist like them. I know that intelligence, common sense, humanity, and a civilized mentality don’t come in colors and aren’t determined by race. As bad as the history and behavior of Whites(Europeans)has been, it is in no way indicative of the mentality of all Whites.
I would never dishonor the efforts and contributions of great White(Europeans) throughout history who tried to correct the injustices of uncivilized Whites. The Quakers, Armish, and the young men and women that gave their lives fighting for human rights and the establishment of a civilized society, especially in the south, are heros. These are just a few of the White(European)hero’s who fought and died trying to establish a civilized society. Unfortunately, they became victims of sick deranged mentalities, represented by self lothing trash like Jake(Hate)Bogartis and our little funky fudge loving wide receiver Tinkerbell.
I’ve always believed that ALL RACIST ARE NOT WHITE, AND MOST N!GGERS AREN’T BLACK.

Realize the reasons they closed Buckhead (started with the Ray Lewis thugs) and the other porch monkeys. Look at the population of the most crime ridden areas of Atlanta. DeKalb County was a pleasant place to live before the South DeKalb mobs spread the McKinney infection to contaminate the rest of the county. Look at the constant corruption of the Atlanta city government since Maynard (including the last mayor in prison). It all started downhill when the boys were offered “40 acres and a mule.”
Vick was just using the same logic prevalent in the first half of the 20th century - sometimes you just have to hang a worthless beast from a tree limb or electrocute him when it’s deemed worthless. I wonder if he realized he was copying a lynching of a lower life form?

Ken Strychnine, girl, you forgot to mention that the blacks of Africa are murdering each other at an extraordinary clip. They’re doing the same thing in Atlanta, D.C., New York, Los Angeles and in every other major population center of this country. Whites have the violent within their race but blacks are uniformly violent and far more racist than any other group. Blacks hate, and are envious of, every other group of people. The Falcons have done the right thing by excluding thugadocious from camp. The companies that have cut ties with him are wise. No one wants to be represented by black, violent trash! To the person who identified himself as an attorney - obviously you’re not familiar with the law or this case. Vick is being charged with a felony; President Bush signed a law earlier in the year making participation in dogfighting a felony.
Secondly, I don’t really care what Tony Taylor has to say - the prosecutors have several other witnesses who say otherwise. The prosecutors are also adding charges on later this month.
These Federal prosecutors only bring cases they think they can win and have a 95%-97% conviction rate (Court TV says 97). Yes, I think there’s a good chance Vick will beat this because I have no faith in juries or the justice system. However, it isn’t going to matter. He’s through. Stick a fork in him. He’s done.

I was shocked when I was told that a black friend said the blacks he knows are about 50/50 on Vick being guilty. I would have thought that he had a much bigger black backing than that.
Again Chris Chandler got Alt to the SB, Vick didn’t and who is Chris Chandler. Exactly.

I’m on the bandwagon that believes Vick won’t play here again, but i also think that he’s not going to get convicted. If you read the transcript of Taylor’s plea, it’s mentions that he has not been associated with Vick since 2004. Most of the details concerning dogfighting that the feds have produced are pre-1994.
Now, i may be way off base, but i would think that most of their info is coming from Taylor originally and his plea was pre-arranged for media attention. Think about what you’ve been reading…”one of Vick’s posse turns on him” Not the case, Taylor has turned on him prior to Vick being indicted. Taylor is the original source of the information that has led to the indictment in the first place.
Vick will have lawyers with teeth that will tear this connection apart, if the info in the affaidavit is factual. The main part to look at is Taylor and Vick parted ways in 2004. That’s 3 years ago and any good lawyer will turn this around to mean that Taylor was angry for no longer being in Vick’s circle and is testifying to get back at Vick.
If all the original information comes from Taylor…Vick walks.
By David Duke
August 2, 2007 11:44 PM | Link to this
The information could not have come from Taylor. When the Feds went back, the second time, to the house at 1915 Moonlight Road, they were looking for dog corpses. They specifically mentioned eight dogs killed in April of 2007. That information and much more came from Davon Boddie. if you’ll look at the indictment you will notice he, though he was heavily involved, was not named in it. The reason he’s not named is because he’s giving the Federal investigators a lot of information about Vick and it’s not all about dogfighting!

The moron Vick led the Atlanta Falcons’ offense into thirty-second place in passing last season. The team lost nine games, while only winning seven. In seven of those defeats lamebrain could only put up an average of ten points. Steve Bartkowski has more wins as a Falcon and chris Chandler took the franchise to the Super Bowl. We don’t need this thug. We’re much better off with Harrington, who by the way has thrown for more yards and more touchdowns than Vick despite his having been in the league one less year. Ray Lewis: Super Bowl MVP.
Michael Vick: He’s a Running Back posing as a QB. It’s really a shame that yall are basing a Super Bowl victory on a qb who can be beat by forcing him to sit in the pocket. Maybe, just maybe, if Vick had lived up to his hype, we could get on your bandwagon. But when we see a sub-par passer who has to scramble for a thousand yards, we’re not watching a real qb. We’re watching a rb who throws like my sister.

An important and overlooked distinction in the Kerney and Vick matters: The incident at the Kerney home was a one-night affair; it occurred while the homeowner was asleep. The matter on Vick’s property allegedly went on periodically over five years. Therefore, if we’re talking about culpability on the part of the homeowner, Vick clearly had greater opportunity to know of the events on his property than Kerney had to know about the event on his property.

Regardless if Vick is guilty or not, I find it preposterous the the Federal Government is investigating a dogfighting ring, when there are so many more pressing matters at stake in this country. It’s a very sad commentary on our society these days. There’s no doubt that they are trying to make an example of Vick, because if this was anyone other than Vick, it would be a State matter. Im disappointed in the way Roger Goddell and the falcon organization has bowed to the pressure of the PETA organization. They were correct with there first response to the Vick situation, A U.S. citizen is innocence until proven otherwise. Some of the leadership inside the PETA organization are opportunist and are more interested in fund raising and media coverage than animals rights, while others in the organization are legitgmate animals rigth protectors, which i have the upmost respect. Im not a animal hater or lover, im just an average football fan/U.S. citizen, who happens to believe in due process. A citizen right to due process should never be compromise, other wise we become a rode nation. Roger Goddell and Artnur Blank decision to suspend Michael Vick without creditable facts and proof was wrong. The way the story is spinning out of control and the length some of the media folks is going to prove this man guilt, causes me to wonder would this story line be the same if it was Payton Manning or Tom Brady (Um). I wish Goddell and Blank well, and i hope you do not trample on the next player right to due process. Some of you people chill out it not that seriou

Maybe that’s the problem, all the people with the man crush and want thier kids to have the same feelings about these jocks. How about steering your kid to look up to someone who has actually really contributed to society rather than an entertainer. How about making your child understand that even people on tv are human and in most cases out of touch with reality because they can entertain (sports, sing, act etc.)If Vick did the things listed then let him pay the penalty and move on. Your views on Vick maybe unbiased and you are just looking at the facts but many started disliking him because he looked “hip-hop” and then they started calling him a thug. He hasn’t done one thing that is thuggish so you see those people are racist. A white guy can do the same thing and he is called crazy and stupid but many people are associating the word thug with blacks and that is wrong and racist. That is why you have such heated debates over Vick. Some people have a legit gripe, some we can see the racism clear as day. Then you have those stating he grew up a thug from a thug mother and so forth. For those I will just say this, as some have stated “you are what you came from”, then you maybe right, how could he have turned out any other way as we mugged the Indians, Stole part of Mexico and robbed them in the Mexican war, hi-jacked Africans from Africa and spreading our gangster prescence in the middle east (that is why they hate us), Yep, now that is straight up Thug work if you ask me.

The only issue is Vick’s involvement in criminal activity. The dark minded want to discuss slavery, the plight of the American Indian, the occupation of Iraq, the civil rights struggle and anything else that would shift the spotlight off Buckwheat. This guy is an awful quarterback and a worse human being. He’s going to jail! The lameness, by wailing jigs, will continue but it won’t change a thing. He’s going to jail!

I was at Flowery Branch for the Sunday 6:00pm practice. Out of approximatly 1,000 to 1,500 people in attendance I counted only four #7 jerseys. The realty of this is that Ookie is fading away and no one will care if we are winning anyhow. I guess MARTA doesn’t go to the Branch. Not realy much support for Vick in the real world. Sorry, he’s gone.

Even most African Americans have no use or respect for OJ anymore and Vick will end up the same way….argue if you want but time will tell as it has with OJ. The best thing mike could do now is admit what he has done wrong and apologize for it, maybe even say it was a addiction then people are more likely to forgive and forget.

DAVID DUKE - I’m not trying to shift the the spotlight, I was addressing the bloggers who stereotype blacks as thugs based on un-acceptable appearance to some. I do believe you have a lot of rage you are holding inside based on your racist statments (buckwheat, afro-sheen etc.) I really don’t see the Charges as being a race issue. The coverage may make you raise an eyebrow as this seems the biggest story in the nation but some opinions not all seem to be racially motivated to some degree. I for one am pulling for the Falcons with Joey Harrington. All blacks do not find other blacks always innocent. I feel that Bill Campbell got what he deserved for robbing the city, I feel that Al Sharpton is fake as he was caught on tape in NY trying to broker a drug deal, I feel that Jessie is useless unless he is getting soldiers out of hostile territory. If he dd it then it is wrong and he will be prosecuted but this whole thing needs to be put into perspective.

hey boy! what are talkin about. OJ was a retired football player that was accussed of murdering 2 people. Vick is accussed financing a dog fighting operation. If he gets cleared of the charges he continues to play football and in a couple of years this whole thing will be a distant memory. How about you ask Kobe Bryant? Anyone who thinks Vicks football days are over is dillusional. If Vick is on your team you will instantly sell out for the entire season and be scheduled for a minimum of two nationally televised games(ask the Falcons). What NFL owner wouldn’t want that? Trust me, he will be suspended, fight his case and be back playing football maybe not for Atlanta which would suck but somewhere in the NFL.

It truly amazes me that so many of you so called football fans say Vick is not a good passer. Name one pro bowl offensive lineman the Falcons have had. Vick has had to carry the Falcons by himself Period!!! his only true receiver has been a tightend. Many analyst have criticized Vick because Crumpler has been his best reciever. Tony Gonzales has led KC in receiving since 2000, Antonio Gates has led the Chargers since going there, Jeremy Shockey led the Giants but yet none of these QB’s were criticized for throwing to the tightend. This whole thing just might be best for Vick to go to a team with probowl lineman and good agressive WR’s thought im disapointed because i truly think it was going to come together this year for the Falcons. I don’t even understand why so many of you are still sending in the hatefulcomments you got what you wanted and thats Vick gone.

I could’nt give my tickets away when Vick was out for the 2003 season. VICK is the sole reason the Dome is sold out every year. If the league lets him play then ask the players if they want him on the field. After they say YES. Do it and let the fans decide. If they don’t show cut him. BUT TRUST ME. THE DOME WILL BE FULL AND IT WILL BE BECAUSE OF #7. He is owed that much for all of the money he has brought. He deserves to let the fans judge him by whether they show up.

Michael Vick needs to allowed to earn a living while the court case plays out. No matter who likes it, he is still INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY. The only thing he is guilty of so far is being stupid.

Innocent dogs? Are the deer, birds, and other animals hunted for sport not also innocent? I do not support dog fighting, but the dogs made the basis of the charges agains MV and causing all this conversation at least had a fighting chance. Survival of the fittest. What chance do game animals have against man with guns? Where is the indignation against that act? Football players are mauled each week. Some have even died. There is betting on football. There is betting on dogs, ducks, turtles, roaches, and many other non-human entities. No protest against that betting? Anyone that has ever had more than one dog at a time knows that naturally, dogs are going to fight, bred for that purpose or not. But somebody bet on these dogs. All of you bloggers that claim your indignation and your comments made herein and other places, have no racial basis are just not being honest with yourselves. Some of us that read your comment can see through your denials. I can respect more those of you that have voiced your prejudice than those of you that cannot see your own. Each and everyone of us has a certain amount of racial prejudice within. The issue is how we deal with that prejudice. Vick has not proven to be a great quaterback but he has filled seats and given we Falcon fans hope. Harrington has had many other opportunities to be successful and has not. Some of you want a winner but not with a Black leader. You didn’t want a Black coach, you didn’t want a Black quarterback. How much more irrational can you be? And I suppose Blacks don’t have enough integrity to convict a criminal? Is that why so many White juries, prosecutors, and judges have had to fill the majority of our jails with Blacks? I’m sorry, I fogot White men and especially athletes don’t commit crimes.

The people who continue to compare humans to dogs are making me sick. To you folks who continue to write in and say that Vick should be cleared because dogs are not human, please you are scaring the *&#@ out of me. Of course animals are not people. That is not the point. To use the Christian bible as a reference tells me you really don’t get it. This is not about animals being better than humans and thus, your PERCEIVED, warped need to say it’s okay because they were just dogs. IT”S ABOUT AN ALLEGED CRIME. The SCLC is just as warped. How many people of color could be honored, and you choose Vick in order to bring attention to yourselves. Shame on you. I know, start the statements that I am a racist. Think before you do, however, who is segregating themselves between law and color. Animal haters, wake up.

Mr. Paul, if Michael Vick is guilty, and the court will decide that, and he serves time, he will have a chance to reclaim his life. Why, just because he is a star, should he be allowed to reclaim his life now, if he is guilty. Wait and see. What does forgiveness have to do with this. God will determine forgiveness. Forgiveness occurs when a person asks for it. It is called grace. If Vick is guilty, what does that have to do with eating meat? He wasn’t eating the dogs. he was allegedly electrocuting them. Consider the purposes for sitting down and eating meat, and killing dogs because they don’t fight well. .

Know why screen passes were scrapped from the Falcons playbook for the past several years?
Here’s why… Touch on a football originates in the brain. It’s a calculation of distance, velocity, and degree of loft. Can somebody who can’t absorb the gist of a playbook in 5-years, grasp the concept of a 5-yard, easy-toss, pass? The answer to that is a resounding NO!
Mike Vick was a novelty at his position. He was no more a Super Bowl quarterback than Gary Coleman. Quarterback is a BRAIN position, and having a brain can’t be taught…

So tyger, were you attempting to illustrate that a larger percentage of the black population than the white population is incarcerated or unemployed? If so, well done.
As of July 1, these are the demographic breakdowns of America’s population:
White: 237,854,954
Black: 37,909,341
Therefore, the unemployed portion of the white race would be 2% of all whites in the country.
The unemployed blacks amounts to 4% of the overall black population.
When it comes to prison, the population breakdown is much larger.

Ever notice how most of them like to tag along with the few of them we pay like gladiators to entertain us at our whim? Some of those most successful even try to become white themselves (Sammy Davis Jr, Michael Jackson) because they’re so ashamed of their complexion and race.
It must be tough to look like and smell like sh!t all of your life – having to cover it us with gallons of cheap cologne whenever they can steal it. Well, comin’ from the ‘hood, that’s what you entered the world through: Yo ho momma’s sewer. Remember L.A. in 1994 when they burned their own town in a tantrum? Yea, those cops should have been convicted - - of not finishing the job!

The cost per prisoner or per unemployed person is the economic burden to American society.
That cost is realized by the raw number of prisoners or unemployed, not disguised in the per 100,000 number you choose to regurgitate.
The bottom line is that there are more Whites unemployed, on welfare, and in prison than Blacks.
And the economic costs associated with maintaining the social and prison system for them is astronomical.

There are more Blacks in prison compared to Whites in prison by population % because of dirty cops and and a Neo-Con Just-Us System.
The stats are simple:
$30,000+ per prisoner x the # of prisoners by race = cost to society.
Not the % of one race vs. % of the other neanderthal.

There are a lot more whites than blacks so of course there will be more sheer numbers of whites. To get a true evaluation one must find the percentage of each population. The fact is the percentage of blacks in prison and on welfare is much higher than whites. And you want to dicuss the economic burden to society? If you want to talk in raw numbers do you think black people pay more taxes than whites? It’s not even close. I think it is safe to say that we pay our own way as a whole. Since you want to turn this unemployment and prison thing into a racial issue then I thought it might be worth mentioning who really pays the bills in this country.

This is ridiculous. These same Hypocrites that are condemning Michael Vick before he’s even convicted are more in an uproar than they were over the Hurricane Katrina disaster or the war in Iraq ignominy . But of course that’s only a bunch of poor people as oppose to a bunch of animals uh? Sorry twisted s.o.b.’s. This country is going to hell and mainly because of it’s warped values. Some idiot above wrote about black people not convicting over blacks even if Michael Vick were caught on video committing this crime. I have this to say about that dumbaxx comment; it’s like seeing Rodney King getting beat on video and then seeing the Perpetrators being found not guilty! And for a country that used to(and in some cases still do)routinely allow the most inhumane treatment of African Americans in this country by whites who went unpunished by white juries particularly in the South to say anything about Black and Black juries is ridiculous! Find someone who is guilty of a bigger crime and quit condemning Michael Vick before he is found guilty in a court of LAW, not is a circus of bias racially motivated public opinion and irresponsible journalism. I bet they wouldn’t do that to Brett Farve or Peyton Manning. Go find the person(s) that killed Emmitt Till! How about that? An little boy being torqued and shot throw the head by GROWN MEN! That’ll give you hypocrites something to do.

So you’re saying there were no whites working in factories, or policing the streets to keep people safe, or fighting in bars to make ends meet, correct?
You should be thankful. If AFRICANS hadn’t sold slaves to the very few slaveowners in AMERICA, you’d be chasing a lion for dinner tonight.

“you ought to pay the bills in this country, you got 200 years of free black labor”. No I didn’t get anything for free, I have worked for everything that I own. And no my ancestors didn’t own any slaves. The average white in those times didn’t own slaves only the elite few rich plantation owners. The majority of white families during those times were just poor dirt farmers barely making ends meat. Thats the real truth but you don’t want to hear the real truth because then you want have an excuse not to work. Quit crying that you’ve been wronged all the time and then maybe people will show you some respect. Get off of welfare and get out there and get a job and feel some real pride for a change.

Human beings are a rare breed indeed. They will pack an arena to watch an Ultimate Fighting contest where two men are enclosed in a PIT and BEAT EACH OTHER’S BRAINS OUT and are outraged when a dog is abused. The men in that cage, pit or whatever suffer serious injuries. And this is legal? Quite frankly, I think it’s more of a travesty to allow HUMAN BEINGS to square off and fight like ANIMALS to the amusement of a packed house of blood thirsty idiots. You know folks, I used to comment on the dailypress.com blogs, and I saw that I was getting no where with these people. This guy commented and stated, if you are trying to win converts your time is wasted. These people see the homeless situation. They understand that we have a war going on. They understand the reality of a smoke screen, yet they continue to perpetrate this hypocrisy.
Rest assured, your enemy will never understand your plight. He doesn’t want to.
I suggest to the people that African American shouldn’t buy Reebok in the first place. They didn’t care about Africans during apartheid, which began in 1949. They had to be boycotted before they would divest in South Africa, and they would dump selling Mike Vick’s jersey’s because of eight dogs found dead on his property. How many dead South Africans are buried throught out their Countryside.
Now let’s look at the AIDS epidemic in Africa. Lets give just as much attention to that. How about Darfur, does any body care about the displacement of people and the rape of women in that region. How about the course of action in Iraq. Have you not considered how barbaric, heinous, inhuman war is. Do you not remember the carnage that has gone on…soldiers losing their humanity and going door to door killing people. The only solice they get is good will wishes from home.
Iraq, poor soldiers, they turn on the internet and find out that we are not fighting over the war. We don’t care about them. We care more about a man who Allegedly participated in dog fighting.
Consider our priorities. This Country has to pay for the war in Iraq, the disaster known as Katrina, the disaster hurricanes in Florida, and the impossible situation on the bridge in Minnesota.
Everyone is unbelievable. Get a life. Protect your pets, but most of all reinstate Mike Vick.

Well, loser, if that’s the case, we shouldn’t prosecute rapists, because there are murderers out there. Is that correct?
Stop being so self-righteous. This isn’t about 8 dogs. It’s about a man breaking the law and being punished for it. Simple.

Actually, it’s always been better to comfortably watch two sub-human primates fight it out in any level of boxing and think that they won something.
As for “Tired,” the word is “exist” not exits. And, are you employing “axx” as if you are “axing” a question?” One can never be sure with the borderline illiterate.
Inferiority motivates this howling and attempting to latch onto one of the few gladiators we allowed a little extra cash. However, it seems that whenever a chance comes for one of these to climb out of the ‘hood in the real world, as in leading the Atlanta city government, they employ the same morals & ethics they learned in the ‘hood (Re: Bill Campbell). They cheat their own and us too.
Vick just got caught abusing the dogs. He escaped the Miami water bottle episode, he bought off his herpes infected b!tch, he flipped off the black fans as well and all of the others. Yet, you keep running after him, licking his shoes so that you can attempt to show the Man. We just laugh. All your showing is your desperation to attach yourself to anything outside of your pathetic ghetto existence. Why not follow a Colin Powell, Clarence Thomas, Condoleezza Rice, the lessons espoused by Bill Cosby, Henry Aaron, or Warwick Dunn? It appears as though you do not because that’s the hard way and you’re looking for the easy & flashy gold chain. It would certainly be harder for us to laugh at. Nevertheless, that’s the path that will keep you on the Man’s puppet strings.
Some athletes will get some significant loose change for a few seasons, but will be discarded after they make fools of themselves and we’ll have another group for entertainment.
Regardless of what Al and Jesse say, your possible invitation into the successful world does not come from your constant victimization and whining about the Man.
Personally, we do care if you ever make it. We will still pay a few bills to have you entertain us, but only a very few of the performers get invited into the power after the game. Strange how the other minorities seem to have broken the code and have discovered success. But, the Vick supporters just keep hanging on to someone who “disses” them and they will continue to buy lottery tickets with their malt liquor to fund their retirement plan.

Your metaphor is interesting. Do you have experience cleaning bowls, as in toilet bowls? Are you training to be a “janitorial engineer?” Or are you one of those boys offering a towel and shoe shine after we’ve washed our hands (a practice you might take back to the ghetto)? No, from your clear academic prowess, probably you’re one of those “VoTech” applicants who clean the public “bowls” at the airport or Turner Field.

As for the chains, you can’t remove them for there on for life and that’s all you’ve got to pass on.
Yank - yank. Time to dance and entertain, but your one faceted act is getting old. See if you can spice up your act soon. No more dimes for you to take back to your “chillin” if you don’t improve. Then, it will just be under the porch for the rest of the night for you. Maybe some crumbs from the table will fall through.

Mammy ConJu: Hang your head and retire in shame again under the porch. In summary, tonight you wiped up a spit puddle, aspired to clean public toilets, can’t spell, rejected Chris’ help to correct your grammar, could not defend your off-spring, and, repeatedly had to beg for a definition of a very old and commonly employed synonym for the younger members of your inferior race.
Unfortunately, while at times pathetically humorous, your lower mentality has not impressed us enough to gain you a way out of the ghetto.
Along with Vick, it’s back to the cotton field for you tomorrow, Mammy.

OK, click on this link. When the page loads, scroll down and click on “Unemployment Rate White”, and “Employment Rate Black”. THEN scroll down and click on “Retrieve Data”. It’ll tell you everything you need to know about the disparity in unemployment rates, unless you’re too big a dumbass to follow instructions! This is from the US Department Of Labor.
