Vick can’t even speak for himself
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Richmond — In spite of the multiple chances to get it right through the days, months and years, ranging from that water-bottle fiasco to flipping off the hometown fans to the stiffing of those U.S. congressmen to his 18-page indictment surrounding illegal dogfighting, Michael Vick still doesn’t get it.
Where was he? After the riveting 54 minutes it took on Thursday inside a stuffed room at the Lewis F. Powell Jr. U.S. Courthouse for a federal judge to set Vick’s bond in that dogfighting case and for another federal judge to run the arraignment proceedings, everybody was there outside the courthouse before the microphones.
Well, almost everybody. You had Vick’s four lawyers. You had his mother, Brenda Boddie, standing as a clear-eyed supporter in brilliant red beside noted defense attorney Billy Martin, the leader of Vick’s dream team. You had a slew of television cameras and notebook pads representing media outlets from various parts of the western hemisphere.
There was no Michael Vick. Then again, such was the case after the Ron Mexico thing regarding herpes charges and the missing-watch thing at the Atlanta airport security involving one of his so-called “crew” members and all those other things involving Vick that Falcons officials allowed their troubled quarterback to shrug away while hiding.
This time, with the universe watching, waiting and wondering, Martin said of his missing client, “He’s still inside [the courtroom] signing papers.”
Oh. Just a crazy thought: If Vick really does want folks to know that he is innocent in bold and loud terms (which Martin kept alluding to), why didn’t his dream team wait until star client finished signing those papers before starting such a high-profile news conference? Since police in Surry County discovered an elaborate dogfighting ring at one of Vick’s Virginia homes in April, he has said virtually nothing. He did plead not guilty with little emotion Thursday before one of those federal judges and about 100 live witnesses, but he has to do more than that. He has to take responsibility for his actions in public for one of the few times during his NFL life.
Mostly, Vick has to realize that he’s fighting not only for his freedom but for his reputation. Both are on shaky ground, since the feds have a celebrated 95 percent conviction rate. Plus, many of those deafening boos he heard from hundreds of spectators after he arrived at the steps of the courthouse were coming from those living in his native Virginia.
This was as sad as it gets for an imploding sports hero. After the three other co-defendants were marched into the courtroom, Vick appeared a minute later, with whispers exploding throughout the place. Why is he wearing a dark suit and dark blue shirt and tie? (Most wear crisp white shirts to these settings). What is he thinking with his teammates preparing for training camp while he’s sitting there in anticipation of those chilling words?
“ALL RISE.” The other federal judge came in for the arraignment, and following a few responses of “Yes sir,” and a “not guilty” plea, it was over. Actually, it should have been the beginning for Vick to start his PR push with the public by rushing outside with the rest of his handlers and supporters, but it didn’t happen.
In a different time and for different reasons, Simon & Garfunkel would have moaned on what was a beautifully ugly day in Richmond County, “Where have you gone, Michael Vick, the miracle in cleats for the ages? The Falcons Nation turns its angry eyes away from you.” The same goes for the Virginia Nation, once huge for Vick as a standout for the Hokies in Blacksburg.
On the west end of Richmond, they’ve got gigantic statues of Confederate heroes and Virginia icon Arthur Ashe on pedestals along Monument Avenue. Chances are Vick won’t join their ranks any time soon, especially after he sauntered into the U.S. Courthouse as Case No. 3:07CR274.
Not exactly the stuff that inspires bronzed immortality.

It’s simple Terence. Vick was advised by his lawyers to keep quiet and let them do their job. I am sick and tired of all the Vick bashers. Everyone needs to keep quiet and let this play out. Vick is innocent until proven guilty. Isn’t this an american right? By the way, Vick and his lawyers have the feds exactly where they want them.

If he is found guilty than I hope he never plays another down for ANY team…Arena League included. No matter which way one spins it. A man that is guilty of this is an evil, evil person. Look how Dahmer started out….

I agree he should have spoke… What he should have said was “Mr. Moore, you sir are the biggest disgrace to the City of Atlanta”
And he would be justified in doing so. Mr. Moore I’m white so don’t give me any race crap. Your closet may be full of a whole lot more than Mikes. You are so quick to point your finger. Did you not listen to the judge today? You Terrence are scum. Thats right you heard it. SCUM in the worst of ways. Quite trying to play God, you should hit your knees in prayer.
PS How much did you donate to the VA tech victims. I will answer for you. I say not a dime!

What “reputation?” Do you mean his reputation for specially designed water bottles with secret compartments obviously for hind illegal substances? Or do you mean his reputation for spreading sexually transmitted diseases under false names? Perhaps you mean his reputation for making obscene gestures toward the thousands of fools - er, fans - who have supported him and paid his insane salary for the last six years. Or maybe you mean the quitter Vick back in Philadelphia last year, last game of the season, and his last as a Falcon - where he faked an injury rather than playing on and giving us a ray of hope for this year. The only reputation Vick has is a deservedly crappy one. I pray that once he gets off, and he will, based on the O.J. strategy (get a couple of blacks on the jury and they will find him not guilty regardless of the evidence), he will still be too despised to play in a Falcons uniform again. Hopefully, the entire NFL will close their doors to him if Goodell hasn’t got the guts to ban him for life. So what? Vick has enough of the Super-Sap Arthur Blank’s money to kick back for life and start doing dope with his posse on a regular basis instead of just the off-season, or that is until he blows it all or is robbed blind like Mike Tyson, Darryl Strawberry, Ricky Williams, Joe Louis, Tony Dorsett (declared bankruptcy twice), Ray Caruth (once he gets out for murdering his wife), etc. Perfect company for a man of Vick’s “reputation.”

Seriously Terrence…you have every right to have your own personal belief about Vick’s innocence or guilt…But what I can’t fathom is how you consistently blow up or misreport Vick’s previous allegations
The Herpes thing—- It was a civil case…why exactly does he need to make a statement about it. Assuming he has herpes, why would ANYONE come out and say they do
The water bottle- Vick stated that bottle was for jewelry. He did not remain silent on that issue. Whether you choose to believe him or not is your business, but to use that incident as evidence of his bad character is baseless as he was FULLY EXONERATED and never even charged in the incident.
And the Shooting the Bird—Incident…Mistake me if I’m wrong, but did Vick not IMMEDIATELY apologize for his actions in that incident….before teh media even started blowingthat incident out of proportion. How come noone ever brings up Jake Plummer shooting the bird at people as a point of reference?!?!?!?
I’m glad the AJC is available free online, because I wil never ever spend my hard earned money reading that filth……Unless I run out of toilet paper that is.

Terence, just what we expected you to say…whatever negative you could to please the fake dog lovers. Every person appearing in court on charges have to sign documents. You seem like the kind of guy that loved the dogs that attacked innocent women, children and babies in the civil rights era. I’d love to see you agree with paid snitches, paid informants and paid protesters that lie about you. Of course, Black people don’t deserve due process. Keep hating. That’s the way to keep your job! Blacks that know their history have different feelings about non-Blacks wth dogs.

Terence Moore, you are reaching here, son. The color of his shirt? This is RIDICULOUS!!! You are just mad because Vick didn’t give you anything that could be picked apart and criticized, word for word. Even if he had something to say, you would’ve found something wrong with it. Hang it up, man. How long did it take you all to search through that video clip until you captured what appeared to be a smirk on Vick’s face. I’m talking about the picture that was on the homepage. If Vick’s so awful, why the spin? Can the AJC PUH-LEASE find something newsworthy to write about? Didn’t a 9 year old girl get killed in the ATL yesterday? Now that’s newsworthy. You and PETA should take all the time you are putting into running Vick’s name into the ground into doing something worthwhile, like helping somebody.

Terrence,
This indeed was a sad day. Dozens of people gathered around to see the spectacle of Mike Vick, the fallen superstar. Let’s continue to kick him while he’s down shall we. It’s time for this town to heal in the worst way.
A little girl was killed the other day by a stray bullet, yet no one pickets to raise attention to find her killer. No one causes a stir for gun control.
Everyone, including you, uses Michael Vick to advance their cause or career. If Vick is guilty, he’ll get his in the worst way, but if he is the sinner, is it our job to throw stones so vehemently?

I really don’t think that Vick is capable of muttering an intelligent thought on this subject. It appears he is waiting for what has always come so easily to him, a helping hand from someone naive enough to feel they were making a difference in this young man’s life. This man Vick is a sociopath. He is so far removed from reality it is almost sad to look into his life and see how empty it really is.

In regards to your comments Mr. Moore, I think Vick is doing exactly what he should be doing which is Defending Himself. It doesn’t matter if you want him to make a statement to the media and the world. All that matters is that he has been indicted by the federal government and he is going to trial to defend himself. His lawyers are being well paid to speak on his behalf. The negativity that has been drawn to this case is outrageous and for a person in the media like yourself to enhance the negativity is the typical and the norm of the media. It’s just ashame that it’s coming from a black man as yourself with no just cause for your actions.
You are just like the typical sell-out brotha. Let the justice system play out and then come back apologetic to Vick for convicting him in public opinion without having heard all the facts.

Everyone keeps saying that this wouldn’t be a big deal if Vick weren’t so famous. They’re absolutely right! Dogfighting is always wrong, but when you take that and link it to someone children admire and look up to, that makes it even worse. Atlanta has the most fair weathered people on earth! Why didn’t Vick speak? He did. He said he was innocent. If he had said anything else, the media, including this paper would have ripped his words to shreds. Michael Vick is a human being subject to doing stupid things just like every other human being on this earth. The people who decide to sit high and look low are the ones whose stupidity has escaped relatively unknown or overlooked. That’s why they feel that they can cast a judgmental eye at others. Let’s start with PETA. Where are these animal lovers when pit bulls tear human beings to shreds, sometimes killing them? And please, no one needs to write and say that these dogs are raised or provoked to do this because these same dogs have been known to kill infants. I’m not an advocate of dog fighting or any kind of fighting, but the truth is the truth. That comment by the person who said that he’ll have some blacks on the jury and will be acquitted. Buddy, you had better look at the grievous history of all male white juries in the Jim Crow south and all white juries even NOW before you open your slit for a mouth again. It’s my sincere hope that Michael Vick is exonerated, continues to play football for another team, and play so well that he takes them to the superbowl every year that he plays for the team and WIN EACH TIME!! GO VICK!!!!!

Mr. Vick should be allowed due process and the ability no matter what the outcome to rehabilitate and earn a living in what ever manner is best for him and his family. However, when you are making the money he is making, he and every other athlete needs to grow up, cut ties with his “crew”, travel in decent clothes….look like you are about something…..and educate yourself, money can only buy you trouble unless you know who you are….not what you do…..My predicition is he will cop a plea to a lesser charge, tons of community service, huge fine and of course have to go to a shrink…..and he will be back……

For the love of God, I wish Vick was white so we wouldn’t have to drag up the race issue. I’ll agree on the whole, blacks get the short end of the stick overall in legal matters - thats basically a proven fact.
It’s so disgusting that this writer is getting called out b/c he is not “backing someone of his own race”. I’ll apologize for him for objective reporting, and not bringing race into his thinking.
With the preponderance of evidence, anyone would know that Vick either a) knew about and therefore condoned the fighting (c’mon, it was on his property) b) actively participated and funded it or worse c) was present and/or participated in electrocuting, hanging, drowning, or beating dogs to death. Can anyone really dispute that none of the above happened???
Sure “innocent until proven guilty”…but some things (ala OJ, Robert Blake) people just know better.
EVEN IF Vick is “innocent”…in the very least, THESE THINGS HAPPENED AT HIS RESIDENCE. He cannot simply plead ignorance that “I didn’t know it was happening the same as i can’t use that excuse when pulled over for speeding.

Good article, Terence! I especially agree with the number of chances Vick has been given to “get it right” and he still can’t figure it out. He’s too dumb to say anything intelligent, which is probably why his lawyers were thinking “Don’t let Mike speak and further incriminate himself and prove to the public what an idiot he is.” For all you die hard Vick lovers-and I don’t care if you’re black, white green or purple-GET A LIFE!! Innocent till proven guilty….translation….damn, I hope his lawyers can get him out of this one! Look at his track record. And, the Feds don’t go after someone and present an indictment unless there is substantial evidence. “Hi, I’m Michael Vick. I have been breeding pit bulls for years, have a kennel named Bad Newz, my property has 50+ pit bulls on it, all this fighting equipment around, and Duh, I didn’t know nothin bout this.” Yeah, right, loser!!

Right now the only thing we know is that a house that was under his name that he let relatives stay at was used for an illegal purpose. THIS DOES NOT MEAN VICK DID ANYTHING!!! If they had so much investigated in this situation they would’ve had video of Vick in there. If one of their “undercovers” had seen Vick, I’m positive that he would’ve somehow got a video camera in there to tape it. So until the verdict comes back, Vick did not RUN a dog fighting ring.

Mike Vick must be your paltform for promotion. I will wait to hear bothsides. It’s difficult to listen to the opinion from a city that only has one paper the AJC and you only get that one AJC opinion, unlike other major cities ex. NYC you have the daily news ,post exc. Judas how can you turn on your own peopele. Sounds to me you wanna be like Mike. I haven’t seen this much uproar on child abused and murdered children.

On yesterday I witnessed all the events centered around the Michael Vick indictment, from the local news cast to your report on ESPN of the days events. This world seems to revolve around what the media says or what they portray to be true. Nobody knows exactly what happened in regards to the dogfighting situation in which Mr. Vick and his friends are being accused of. Until we know exactly what happened let’s not place either person on a innocent or guilty platform. Your report on ESPN yesterday in regards to the way Mr. Vick’s demeanor was, stating that ” I could’nt tell whether he just had a game against the NO Saints and if they won or loss, doesnt he know he could be facing a 5 or 6 year prison term”, referencing that he didnt show any emotion was viewed in my eye as trying to push the guilty platform on Mr. Vick. It could have been that Mr. Vick was confident in that he was not guilty of the accusations and felt that he was secure with what his defense team planned and maybe his faith in God. Even the local news affiliate (Fox 5’s Art Franklin) addressed his demeanor as being “serious” and ready to take on the task at hand. I am not a dog lover or dog hater, however I do love life and the people in it. If these accusations are true against all involved then punishment should be given. But until that time lets allow the courts to decide the fate of these individuals and stop allowing your own personal feelings about this issue to be portrayed in your reports.

Sorry everyone, but I dont believe he’s innocent. Maybe not guilty, but DEFINITELY not innocent.
I mean come on! How can you NOT know what’s going on in your own home. You may not live there, but you do visit the property. Also, how does his cousin non-working cousin get $20,000 to place on a bet? And more importantly, did you SERIOUSLY not know there is blood all over your freakin basement? It must have stunk something BAD down there.
I love the Falcons with all my heart and I think Vick has a hell of an arm and great speed, but I just dont think he’s not guilty of knowing.

It doesn’t matter if he spoke or not…Terrence and the majority of the world has already concluded that he is guilty. By him speaking that would only give people more reason to talk about something negative…He did the right thing, signing papers or not.

Terence Moore - you gave your opinion and we all should look at it as just that. It’s sad that the AJC lets you air stupidity here. I shouldn’t even waste my time commenting, but it seems you’ve just gone overboard in your feelings on Vick. You should tip on over in the water with the boat. There are those of us who feel that the Vick is innocent until proven guilty. He’s made mistakes - we all have. Let the man be tried in the justice system and not by entertainment-seeking jerks like you. God Bless you Mike.

Mr. Moore - I applaud your disdain with Vick. My g-grandson has been disappointed with many high-paid athletic men doing outrageous things. He told me movie-stars, athletes and politicians appear to think they are so loved and above the law, that he doubts the ‘man on the street’ could ever get the fair shakes those folks seem to get.

Before I began, I am a woman that loves sports. Absolutely! I read the sports daily and also view ESPN. As I began to read this article, I really really was kind of disturbed. Everyone has their own opinion(s)about what has happened, what is going to happen and the final outcome. Mr. Moore, I don’t know if it is or was your intension to anger people with your comments. I decided not to get angry. He who angers you, controls you. If that was your intension(s), you sure did a good job - and you have controlled a few today. Saying all this, (yes, I know that we woman can talk too much sometime -smile fellas)But, regardless of all the accusations, the 18 pages, the “color” of his suit etc. The man is innocent until proven guilty. Mr. Moore, I know that it is not about you, it is not about me - but I must leave you with this - “He who has no sin, let him cast the first stone”. I know I can’t even throw a pebble. What about you? Be very careful of judgement. There are measurements to it. I love reading how fired up you guys have become. Calm down fellas, calm down.

You are an idiot! Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty, you just like every journalist and protestor has played judge and jury and said this young man is guilty. Sorry that we are not all as holy as you and can pass judgement on everyone. Why is the water bottle incident brought up in your insane article, they took his bottle tested it and clearly stated their was no marijuana in the thing. I now realize why I never read your insane opinionated articles.

I watched Mr. Moore on ESPN and was completely appalled with what he said. NOTHING he said had any substance. What in h* does the color of his mother’s dress have to do with anything???? What does the fact that he was calm have to do with anything?? What did you expect, for him to walk in crying and weeping and falling out on the courtroom floor? Of course not.But somehow that is held against him. And of course, YOU, Mr. Moore keep flanning the racial flames. It took exactly 3 sentences for you bring up the “racial divide” in Atlanta. I have not heard ONE interview or ONE article written that you did not throw that same line and same “statistic” that you keep quoting in there. It had not one DN thing to do with the interview but somehow you slip it in.This is not a racial issue. Yes, there are a few idiots out there that may feel that way but the majority of the wonderful people we have in this city does not. LET IT GO!!!!!! Talk about the facts, not your misguided views that is somehow getting you on TV. Why the AJC allows you to continue this disgusting and race-baiting journalism is incomprehesible to me. One more thing, please tell me how the color of his suit is important to his guilt or innocence??

What color is the sky? It obviously cannot be blue, because a courtroom has yet to rule that it is. Right?
Vick has his fingerprints all over this business, and he has put the entire franchise in jeopardy with his persistent irresponsibility and outright stupidity.
If you think Vick cares about you, you are a fool.

What I find to be the most disturbing thing is the double-standards of our society in matters like this. We live in the same society that supports boxing and extreme fighting where 2 humans pummel each other until someone is either knocked unconscience, can no longer stand or is beaten beyond recognition. If a fight ends too soon and we didnt get to see someone get beaten long enough we cry afoul and want our money back because thats not what we paid to see. We want blood!! We are the same people who loveto attend dog races where they muzzle the dogs, put them in cages and make run around a track for our amusement and financial gain. When they are no longer fast enough they are discarded of. Maybe not euthanized the way Vick and Co. are accused of doing but do we REALLY know what went on and how the dogs were killed other than the stories of the killers themselves. We also attend horse races where jockeys slap the living daylights out of the horse to get him to run faster, once again for our amusement and financial pleasure. We as a society love sports that if looked at in the right light could be construed as inhumane. They should be punished for the way the dogs were killed but not for the actual act of fighting them. But then again arent we the same species that hides in trees in camouflage clothing and shoot deer, elk and anything else that roams around. You pit bulls haters out there should do a little google search on the breed and not be so quick to judge. Pit bulls like most dogs can be trained mosnsters but they can be trained to be loving as well. Hell, Petey from the Little Rascals was a pitbull.

Cash Rulz - He is the owner of the property used for illegal purposes, which means is he ultimately responsible. YES, THIS MEANS HE IS GUILTY. He may not have done anything else, but by being the owner he is responsible. Perhaps he should have sold the house to his cousin for a dollar, then he would not be the owner and then not be responsible.

Just YU^%$!!!!! How can some people defend Vick at all cost Jimmy. if it wasn’t the water bottle, stolen watch, flipin bird, dead dogs, it will be something else. This idiot is doomed only by himself. If it walks like a fool, talks like a fool, $130 mill will not change a fool. Vick has 75% of blacks fooled, 50% of whites, and Arthur Blank fooled 100%…
Vick knew dog fighting was illegal. If not, why didn’t he promote the fights and have a sham dog kennel as a front?
Football fans never surprise me with the win at all cost. That is why college’s graduate dumb jocks. Rape, murder, DUI, it doesn’t matter, just win a superbowl or national championship baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
By the way, if the Falcons win the Superbowl without Vick this year, nobody is gonna care what happens to Mick Vick and Vick is tooooo dumb to realize that.

Not calling any names, but another Falcon player was recently charged with Animal cruelty.(Animal Murder) For Killing his Girlfriends Puppy with his Bare hands. ( Or was this something that I just Heard)Strange no News stories and Protest, Federal Indictments, Suspensions,Canceled Endorsements about this but then again he wasn’t Vick. I overheard a Conversation at Dinner last night, That Blacks still shouldn’t be allowed to even play QB. Which got me to thinking about this in a whole new light. Vick was possibly on his way to becoming one of the best QB’s of all times. Now do you really think America is ready to accept the possibility of a Black Man being the best QB in NFL history. After hearing last nights conversation. I THINK NOT. Lets go back in time just a bit if we can 1965 not that long ago. Where was Americas OUTRAGE when speaking of MEAN, VICIOUS ATTACK DOGS, were being turned loose on Citizens of this Country by Govt, Officials. Oh how Stupid of me to ask such a Question, That was way back then. And besides the High Pressure Fire Hoses would wash away the Blood from all the DOG Bites. Is Vick the one and Only person to be involved (Alledgedly) in this type of
Unacceptable Sport. I think not, but he is Mike Vick and Mike Vick is Young, Black, and Rich. And in this Country that’s enough to to find you GUILTY as CHARGED. This Blog is not about Individual Racism. It’s about a Raciest System, And those who will Deny this are still simply that in Denial. I WILL SUPPORT MICHAEL VICK UNTIL MV IS FOUND AND PROVEN BEYOND THE SHADOW OF A DOUBT GUILTY. If it were you in his Cleats I think you would only ask the same. BEYOND THE SHADOW OF A DOUBT, THAT IS WHAT THE LAW SAYS. But Justice and just them comes from two different set of Law books. MR. Moore you are a JOKE.

Terrance Moore why did you quote a question to “Where was Vick” didn’t you say he was signing papers? Well then Mr. Smart guy you answered the question you asked? Duh… While you are trying to make Vick look so bad even with the nice dark suit and blue shirt he had on ROCKING IT WELL don’t player hate on him with his nice attire just because you have gotten caught up with wearing the white collar shirt when you appear in court. Some of us do have our own style where we don’t have to follow the leader as you stated in so many words, now we see how you became a reporter, but you are not making AJC look very well.

I agree Mike vick should get his day in court. But i think each and everyone should and probably has a opinion on mr. vicks guilt or innocence. Is that bad,I don’t think so. It’s human nature. I hope in my heart of hearts that he is innocent. But I can’t get out of my head, how could he not know what was going on at that house. Even if he only went there a few times over last year, the equipment was throughout the house and backyard. common sense tells me if nothing else,he’s guilty of not doing anything to stop what was going on at the house. No matter what,he is responsible for what occurs at HIS house. All I ask is for him to take responsibilty for his actions, just like I would ask of anyone.

I find it hilarious how Vick supporters will bash a reporter who is reporting on things that Vick could be doing to Improve his image. At no point did I read Moore say that Vick was guilty.
As for his reputation. You know what? Mike Vick has profited to the tune of tens of millions of dollars because of his reputation. If he’s not willing to accept the public opinion, he can gladly give up the money and the fame associated with it.

Is everyone who is found guilty in court really guilty? Is everyone who is found innocent in court really innocent? The court will mean very little. Common sense…patterns…and his consistently bad character mean everything…we need someone with class to be the face of our franchise. Let’s pray Mr.Dunn is back and full speed sometime soon. That is a man of high character we can all be proud of! Winning games at the cost of loosing your soul to a low character person such as Vick is like making a deal with the Devil. Have some class people. Support Dunn…Sack Vick!!

Regardless of anyone’s opinion of Mr. Moore, Michael Vick has been on the downhill slide since day one with the NFL. This is another example of a young person getting too much too soon. His head got big and he came to think that the rules don’t apply to him. It’s so sad to see so many young celebrities in such horrible situations. To crash and burn so early in life. All you can hope is that they learn from their hard lessons.

Terence,
I will say this, YOU get it don’t you! You are doing exactly what you are suppose to do, with no shame. I have not respect for people like you who really could care less about the big picture. What this man is experiencing at this time, does not fit the crime.
What I don’t understand is, the world considers pro athletes as role models, but has sympathy for these slutty, drug attic girls who continue to get in trouble day after day. month after month. Help me understand. Are they not considered role models, their actions are setting examples for our young women as well, but again, the pitty party comes out for them.
With all that is going on, dirty referees in basketball, baseball player getting pulled over for DUI and start fighting with the police in Florida and pitching the next day. A pro wrestler killed his family and himself on steroids.
Are you serious? This is the story you choose to stay on.
Keep on doing what is expected of you, just pray that they never come after you one day. Common sense will not help you either.

I have read some very interetsing commentary this afternoon and am glad that other people are able to see through the hypocrisy and slander. Terrence Moore wants to portray that he has it all figured out about Vick and this case. Maybe you’re a store front lawyer like your column tends to make me believe that you may also be a store front journalist.
Nonetheless, this situation is all about making statements. Every critic is representing some agenda. You have segments of fans that are still upset about the way the Falcons dismissed Chandler for Vick, you have PETA realizing this is the biggest forum for their Neo-Nazi tactics, Goddell is continuing to advance his judge, jury, executioner platform and you have critics who have nothing better to do than follow sensationalism. To all, get a life or perhaps start making sure that you’ve removed all the dog bones (skeletons) from your closets. The madness has to stop.
Terrence, you’re obviously an older and more polished professional than Vick, but trust, you got there by making a few poor decisions, mistakes or down right blunders that you have managed to keep private. My question is, where have you and others been to assist in mentoring to Vick or any young Black male for that matter?
Moore along with all the critics find it easier to point out what Vick should have done and known. Vick was created and upheld by this society and now just like a beaten dog, this society finds it easier to extinguish his life rather than assist in healing and teaching. Pit bulls are bred and fed to be gladiators just like atheletes such as Vick. Its cruel and unfair that both have been valued, fostered, upheld and then ultimately destroyed when they serve no further utility.

Has everyone forgot how Vick brought this city together when he came? I have been a Falcons fan ALL my life but have never felt proud to be a Falcon fan until Vick came here. Atlanta needs to protect their own and give him the rights that anyone bashing him would want for their own mother, father, sister or son. None of us were there, none of us can testify against him, so why are we so quick to forsake him. Where would this city be if it wasn’t for Vick? As a season ticket holder, Vick has earned respect from me ON THE FIELD. As for his personal life, I have never hung out with him, I just pray he is innocent so we can get back to the business of the Superbowl. Vick deserves more from us(his real fans) than he is getting. GO VICK!!!!!!
I just hope the judgemental people in the world never have to go through something similar. Its funny how your perspective changes when you are the one getting booed for something you have said you are innocent to.
