10: I felt pretty good about the reassessment of my house the other day after learning Michael Vick’s property dropped 53 percent in about an hour.
9: You know, there are a lot of reasons why somebody dumps a house quickly. Divorce. Financial issues. A new job in a different city. I never realized image cleansing trumps them all. The dude left so fast, he left behind a half-bag of kibble.
8: By the way, if these dogs buried any bones in the backyard, I don’t want to know about it.
7: Coming to HGTV: “The New Hokie Workshop.”
6: I understand why Georgia had a problem with some of the alleged sexually explicit comments made by fired golf coach Todd McCorkle to his players, particularly the part about him telling them what “blue balls” are. I mean, he should know that blue is a Florida color.
5: Don Waddell had to make a move when Dany Heatley asked to be traded two years ago. But here’s the story of this NHL post-season: Marian Hossa - playoff bust. Dany Heatley - one game from the Stanley Cup finals with Ottawa.
4: I don’t know how many concussions Brett Favre has had in his career. But if he really believes that fans believe he still wants to play for Packers - after it was learned he recently whined and stomped his feet and asked to be traded - he’s had one too many.
3: Toronto general manager Bryan Colangelo was named NBA executive of the year. Billy Knight — not second.
2: I don’t know Chris Landry. But I know Ray Buchanan. Good guy who likes to talk a lot. Sometimes too much. So here’s my dime store analysis: It seems far more likely that Buchanan blurted out something about Vick and is now backpedaling to make peace with his Sugarloaf neighbor than it is that Landry - who’s got no dog in this fight, so to speak - is flat out making something up.
1: I’ve got jury duty today. I’m guessing I won’t get picked. Again.

Mike Vick is an embarassment to the Atlanta FAlcons. I have been a big fan of his. Now its hard. First of all he is a horrible quarterback…great athlete, but the league has learned how to reduce his effectiveness since he can’t throw the ball accurately. I don’t see the falcons going anywhere with Mike Vick at the helm. Its sad cause their my team. I guess as the saying goes “You can take the boy out of the south but can’t take the south out of the boy”. Just substitute the word thug for south. That’s how to explain Mike Vick. Vick has disgraced the Atlanta Falcons.

You’re right on Skydawg. Its funny how we can criticize Brooking, Finnerman, or any white player and its no problem. We can brag on Dunn, Norwood, or any black player, but if someone believes Vick should be held accountable… why thats just racism. The only reason racism gets hollered is because there is no logical debate that can be made in his defense, so we can always count on it boiling down to be a “black vs. white” thing. MLK would roll over in his grave to see the abuse being perpetrated by watering down such an important issue over and over again. I don’t care if it’s Joe Montana in the prime of his life; if he was doing the junk that Vick appears to be doing he would need to be investigated, and held accountable. If they investigate the dog fighting and can’t prove Vick had anything to do with it then they need to leave it alone, but because law enforcement is conducting an investigation they have to be racist. What a joke!

Get it togetther Jeff. Vick is just cutting ties from scrupulouis relatives he thought hr could change with his financial assistnce to them. However, they could not get the low life out of themselves even with the money. There is a saying” You can take a pig out of the mud, clean him, dress him up, and give him a lot of food, however after a ashort while that pig will be backk in the mud thathe enjoyed for so long.” It is hard to change a pig. Not saying that these individuals are pigs, but there ways are the same as pigs. It is hard for them to change. And in that changing process, they are going to make a lot of mistakes before they realize they do not have to be a pig anymore. I hope in Vick’s case, he comes out of this clean and a better man and realize there are some dirty folks out there that he personnally knows and for him to stay clean he have to stay away from them because their dirt will make him dirty.

Playing the quarterback position in the NFL isn’t about being able to run fast and jump high.
Playing the quarterback in the NFL is about being able to make good, quick decisions, and have an accurate throwing arm that is adequately strong enough.
If being a quarterback in the NFL was about athleticism, why hasn’t anyone signed the greatest athlete to ever walk the face of the Earth, a man who is in his prime TODAY? This man is so athletic, he makes Mike Vick look like “Chubby” Checker. If you want to worship a man for being an “athlete”, worship this MAN, not the boy Vick.

Indeed, both the Falcons and NFL have a problem on their hands. IF Vick is proven to have had any knowledge of, or participation in dog fighting, I truly believe the league will move to have him suspended pending legal actions. Besides being the ABSOLUTE LOWEST form of UNCIVILIZED behavior, animal fighting of ANY form is disgusting. Having lived in the Tidewater area of Virginia which includes Newport News, I am not surprised at Vick’s behavior. The environment he comes from is a rough and tumble one. Just look at his brother. I just cannot see the NFL tolerating a marque player who is involved in animal fighting. If the Falcons were smart, they’d already have “plan B” in action.

The Falcons have so much money invested in Vick they want us to believe all these incidents, one right after another are all fabrications of the racist media. Look at Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson, when they have no real excuse they yell racism, it’s the same here. If you don’t like Vick, in Atlanta anyway, you’re automatically deemed a racist. Can anyone come up with a plausible reason anyone would sell a house that fast for that big of a loss? I don’t doubt the powers that be in the Falcons front office orchestrated the entire house selling deal, afterall they have a vested interest in their property, namely one Mike Vick. Many of Vicks fans, hardcore fan base, have no problem with him fighting dogs, it’s part of the urban culture. It is socially acceptable to his hardcore fan base to do most of the stuff Vick does. Vick is an urban hero in Atlanta. I for one will not be attending any games, nor will my two sons. I want them to have better role models; we have better role models in the NFL than Vick, many more. The Falcons are stuck with this cash cow. Thats why in the play off season Vick is off fighting dogs while Manning is winning a superbowl ring. Most of you just won’t ‘get’ this post, you’ll call me out as a racist which just tells me your lives are void of decency and good role models.

let’s not forget that the reason the police went to that house in the first place was to serve a drug warrant. you can’t choose your family (i have cousins of my own that are family embarrassments), but you don’t have to be enablers for them, either. when michael vick gives the cops info that will bust his cousins, then i’ll give him credit. his ignorance about the house, whether he’s telling the truth or not, doesn’t exactly inspire confidence. mr. authur blank needs to put rear ends in those seats, especially in light of the new nfl revenue sharing policy. but it’s also fairly obvious that he’s at wit’s end with michael vick. and commissioner goodell? if he finds out that gambling was going on there (the third rail of professional sports transgressions), michael vick better come up with a better explanation than, “i hardly go up there.”

Mark it down: even if Vick is not charged with anything related to the dog findings, he will be suspended a minimum of two games by the NFL. As Goodell stated very plainly after meeting with Vick, it’s his property therefore his responsibility.
Just a guess, but if he’s charged and for example, strikes a plea deal for community service, he’ll be suspended at least eight games. Found guilty of a felony? Try at least a season (in addition to the jail time).
Face the facts folks: Vick’s in trouble no matter what. Goodell can’t and won’t back down.

Oh yeah I should add. McNabb is considered a “great” qb. He’s been hurt the last three years. Two of those years, the Eagles have a better record without him. The other year, both him and the backup had losing records. He’s so good though completing 40% of his passes as screens or less than 5 yards past the line of scrimmage. So looking at the records, who means more to their team, McNabb or Vick? Obvious Answer: Vick. But all the people on here who have not played football past high school think they know what they are talking about. There was actually a qb last year statistically worse than Vick in every single passing category last year that went 8-5. Who was it?

Michael Vick (sociology ’03*) Virginia tech universty. Mike Vick got his degree while with the Falcons in 2003. Oviously the man got rid of the house as quickly as possible. Probably sold at a cut price to his family members who were living there. Why hold on to it when something else could happen with the cousin. Vick said he was going to make some changes . Looks like he has started the process. I bet if the cousin gets arrested for something else at the house the AJC would just print that it was at a house formerly owned by Mike Vick. Racism, schmasism. Criticizing someone for doing something stupid and illegal isn’t racism—it’s holding them accountable to the laws of society. Being a black athlete doesn’t give you a free pass to break the law.
No one here is calling Warrick Dunn any names. Dunn is a kind, caring man who runs a great charity helping single mothers get homes.
Michael Vick allowed dogs to be bred for fighting and fighting to be allowed on his property.
It’s a topic because he’s the starting QB for our city’s NFL franchise. He’s also the highest paid player in the league. Will it be headline news if he gets suspended and Joey Harrington is our starting QB in week one?

I think the Falcons should trade Vick to the Titans for Pacman Jones. That way we could at least get a different story line…for a while. And, since they are of the same hue, these idiots could not play—incessantly—the race card.

you guys sound like a bunch of women gossiping at the beauty salon!I do not want to hear about any he-say she say stuff about vick there is no proof that he was at that house or any house involing dog fighting.Where is the evidence?I am sure if a big star like Vick was there,there would be some sort of video or pictures taken,it would have been all on the internet or on youtube.I’m mean everybody has a picture phone these days.If he was bankrolling this wheres the papertrail?bankstatements?Unitl I get some proof and not gossip & rumors,I don’t want to hear about it!You fans are not perfect neither are athletes,a lot of you fans give people the finger in traffic,a lot of you fans has had an STD before,a lot of you fans smoke weed,got DUI’s,womaniziers,been in bar room brawls,have marital problems,etc. So why do you expect Vick or any other athlete to be held to higher standard that you or your family members don’t have? Actually it looks like the investigators believe Vick was an active participant and have evidence that is so, but the DA is acting like he wants to sweep it under the rug. This should be interesting. What if he declines to bring charges and then tapes surface of Vick at a fight? Man.

WTF, please learn the definition of racism before using the term. Just because racist is screamed every time someone is critical of another race doesn’t make it so. If you can’t find it, the term means one who believes his race is genetically or inherently superior to others. Pray tell, where is that evident in this column? Maybe the term you’re looking for is bigotry. You can look that one up for yourself.
