SEC championship is the real prize
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
If some Georgia fans had their doubts about D.J. Shockley coming into this season, it’s probably because a certain rivalry game was fresh on their minds. It’s probably because it is difficult to forget when a backup quarterback is so mediocre that the starter feels compelled to come back into the game – despite a fractured thumb.
That was the lingering memory of Shockley from last season. He replaced the injured David Greene when the Bulldogs needed him most last season against Tech, then he was pulled for a guy with only four good fingers on his throwing hand.
“That was on my mind a lot this week,” Shockley said late Saturday. “It was the one opportunity I had to perform, and I didn’t come through the way I wanted to.”
Saturday’s game might not go down as a desperation game, as it pertains to Shockley trying to prove his worth. He entered the Georgia Tech game having won eight of his nine starts, and the only defeat came by one point to Auburn. But in the 14-7 win over the Yellow Jackets, Shockley did manage to wipe clean a smudge from his resume.
Albeit, belatedly.
His 19-yard touchdown pass to Bryan McClendon with 3:18 remaining voided an otherwise miserable evening. On the winning drive, he completed all four of his attempts for 44 yards.
Prior to that possession, he was 11 for 30 with an interception.
“It was a night for the defense,” he said. “A lot of things happened out there. But the important thing is, we persevered.”
It all looks good when you win.
This could have been considered the ultimate trap game for the Bulldogs, if the opponent wasn’t an in-state rival. It’s hard to imagine that an 8-2 team could have less at stake than Georgia did Saturday.
The national championship dream scenario had long been kaput. Win or lose, the Dogs were going to the SEC title game next week. Win or lose, the only way they were getting into a BCS game was by winning the SEC title game, thereby clinching a Sugar Bowl berth. Perhaps you could make the case that losing to Tech would diminish what bowl Georgia went to if it lost the SEC championship.
But for the Dogs, there’s really only two bowls, anyway: The Sugar Bowl and Not The Sugar Bowl.
Similarly, Shockley couldn’t have felt the same level of desperation as Tech’s fifth-year seniors, who were winless against the school from Athens. Shockley was 3-0, even if he didn’t figure significantly in any of the results.
As a freshman, he saw limited playing time in a 51-7 dismembering in Athens. As a sophomore, he watched from the sideline with an injured knee. Last year, he threw a touchdown pass but was mostly average.
OK, mostly miserable. His 3-yard scoring pass gave Georgia a 16-0 lead in the second quarter. But the rest of the game went so poorly that Greene came back in despite a fractured thumb on his throwing hand. Anybody skeptical of Shockley entering the year pointed to that game first.
So imagine the reaction when he completed only 9 of 23 in the first half. The Jackets’ defense pressured Shockley but not nearly to the extent it harassed Miami’s Kyle Wright the week before. The senior had several misfires, overthrowing some receivers, underthrowing others.
For a guy who entered the game with 18 touchdowns, only four interceptions and a 152.16 quarterback rating, Shockley looked borderline shaky. He was lost for an answer why, afterward, other than to credit the Jackets’ defense.
But when it mattered most, he looked under control. On second and 15 from the Jackets’ 44 following a holding penalty, he connected with tight end Leonard Pope for 12 yards, then with wide receiver Mario Raley for another 8 near the sideline. A penalty moved the ball to the Tech 19. Two plays later, Shockley spotted McClendon had a step on Dennis Davis running toward the end zone.
McClendon had dropped two passes earlier, but Shockley didn’t hesitate. “A quarterback has to have faith in his receivers,” he said. And apparently a little faith in himself.

UH… IS IT TIME FOR THE LSU GAME YET???!
The article is dead on. This game was meaningless for Georgia. I’m just happy to get through it healthy and continue to dominate this now meaningless rivalry. The ONLY thing that matters now to Georgia is winning the SEC. A BCS bowl is great for the program financially, and good for exposure, but winning the SEC will make up for frustrating losses to Auburn and Florida.
The truth is, those losses don’t even matter.
Assuming USC and Texas win next week; an undefeated Georgia team would be in the exact position where the 9-2 team is; playing ONLY for a conference title. Stuck at #3 in the BCS. Like Auburn last year.
In the messed up world of college football, Georgia is still playing for the only title it could’ve won anyway.

A great way for McClendon to go out … With a big catch to score the game winning TD. GTech played hard, but Reggie Ball needs to calm down and execute the offense. Good game, Jackets. Maybe next year …

Reading these bayou bumpkins above makes me chuckle. I’d be a little nervous if I were them. At this point in the season with everything to lose, LSU barely puts away Arkie and dodges a bullet. With next to nothing on the line, the Dawgs took care of business against a MUCH better team than the ‘Hogs and one that wanted to beat UGA very badly. Hats off to the ‘Tech team (not the geek losers above). The ‘Jackets played a whale of a game. I say the best defense that UGA’s faced this year—and certainly better than LSU’s who blew a 21 pt. lead to UT?!?! Ha!

Hey- Tech played a great game I now have respect for their defense.
Shockley never looked comfortable, but was never under that much preasure- we picked up the blitz all night. When he was relaxed DJ was right on the money.
Hopefully this was a good warm up for LSU.
History will repeat itself! All week Techies came saying stats meant nothing. If we beat Miami we will beat the dawgs. But in the end another big win by tech is followed by a painful loss. This is the way it will always be.
Bring on them Tigers!

Well said, Tiger Bait.
Dat DJ Shockley sure looked great against an inept ACC also-ran. 9 for 30 in da first half. Imagine what he’s gonna do against Kyle Williams, Claude Wroten, Melvin Oliver and Chase Pittman. It don’t matta none what bowl game Gawga plays in after Saturday. I doubt Shock will still be able to play after da poundin’ he’s gonna take.
Da sad ting about this year’s SECCG is that LSU will have to play the 5th best team in the SEC — No. 1 LSU, No. 2 Auburn, No. 3 Florida, No. 4 South Carolina No. 5 Gawja (tied with Arkansas)

I don’t know about the rest of the Dawg fans, but, I feel good about our chances against LSU. They don’t have much of an offense and our D is coming alive again. We play D like this and we will beat LSU.

Hey LSU fans: did y’all beat ANYONE convincingly this year? Umh…NO. Georgia held on to beat Arkansas with a QB whose biggest claim to fame is protecting our punter, and lost to Florida by four with said QB at the helm (and oh yeah-missed two field goals). Then with starting QB heatlthy again dismantled Kentucky and beat team that emabarrased the #3 Miami Hurricanes the week before in the Orange bowl. Excuse me…why is it again LSU is in the Top 5? Ah, silly smack talk. I could say that Georgia’s last memory of the Tigers was a 45-16 pounding in Athens last year, but that doesn’t really matter this year. The fact is that Georgia and LSU are about as good as each other, and it will come down to a few plays. I say Shockley makes them while Jamarcus continues to play erratically and Georgia claims its second SEC title of the Richt era.

Hey SC Dawg, The question isn’t whether we beat anyone “convincingly” this year. The question is has Georgia beat anyone that’s good?
Ohy yeah, I forgot they beat Georgia Tech which beat Miami. But then LSU beat No. 3 ranked Alabama, the Auburn Plainsmen/War Eagles/Tigers (which everyone y’all say is the best in the SEC) and Florida. And, oh by the way, both of them beat Georgia.
Face it, the Dawgs are no better than the 5th ranked team in the SEC this year.

NGA Poodle. No I have not forgotten the game last year. I was there (wife is UGA alum). Your poodles played one hell of a game. Your best all year. Payback for losing twice in the same season to LSU (SEC championship game hurt the most). But that was LAST year. I do not think that the poodles will walk by the Tigers as easily as you guys think. As far as the bumkin talk comment goes I would like to say two things. #1. After living in the great state of GA for over 8 years I would not talk about hillbillies. Georgia is crawing with them. NGA your probably married to your sister. #2. I think that some of my fellow Tiger fans post that way because thay think that is the way the people from GA talk (see coment #1).

It’s amazing how many LSU fans are sarcastically congratulating us on our victory against a mediocre ACC team. You almost lost to Arkansas. On your home field. With the SEC Championship game on the line. Of course, I recognize that rivalry games are going to be close more often than not. I’m intelligent enough to realize that if Ga Tech was 0-10 and we were 10-0, they would still give us a good game 90% of the time. Of course, illiterate LSU fans get on here and criticize us. Well, Pot, let me introduce you to the black kettle (hopefully you’re intelligent enough to get that)…I think it’ll be a good game. Oh, and one more thing. You morons that get on here and type like you’re cajun…you’re freaking idiots. Because you talk like that doesn’t mean your fingers are programmed to type like that. First, What a defensive battle on the flats last night. I want to congratulate GT on competing hard, and right up until the end when Reggie Ball made another bad decision with the football. Flashback, Calvin Johnson is your playmaker receiver, not “Bilbo Baggins”. Horrible route but a great play by Jennigs. Where are the props to the UGA defense. All night, all I heard was how great John T. is and how awesome GT defense has played. Great play by the secondary and the front four. Anyone see the hit Greg Blue had in the first half on a GT WR? He nearly broke the guy in two! I wish MR would stay with one RB for the whole game. Lumpkin or Thomas Brown and put in Danny only when the other needs a rest. None of the RB can get “hot” with this stupid rotation he’s got going on. Receivers droped several passes and Shockley overthrew on a few others or the game would have been easier for UGA on offense. Still, a great defensive game to remember in this Tech/UGA series. Jacket fans, don’t hide. You played with heart and have nothing to be ashamed of, well losing the game, but that’s about it. You competed.
I see that the trash talking from the LSU fans has begun. I guess all of you are still counting your lucky stars that ARK’s kicker sucks! Had he just made one more FG you would be watching AUBURN against UGA! I stand corrected, had the AUBURN kicker made just ONE FG, you would be watching the game! I don’t want to hear about UGA being the fifth best team, we lost 2 games, by 5 points combined to two teams who always play us tough! It’s not like we were blown out by either opponent. On the other side, LSU’s most impressive thing is being able to jinx opposing team’s kickers. LSU’s running game is inconsistent, their WR drop just as many passes… and Russell is even more inaccurate than Schokley! The only good thing about LSU, their defense. Very tough against the run and the pass. Still, it hurts LSU fans to admit that the BEST team in the WEST is AUBURN, not your bengal tigers. So I don’t want to hear about how disappointed you are to face an “undeserving” SEC EAST champion when you barely managed to make it to the game yourselves. Get ready for a tough game LSU fans, you are not going to walk all over this UGA team like you did a few years back in the SEC championship.

That’s one Gator fan that I would by a cold one! SC has been hanging around the downtown Atlanta Bluff area with all of the Crack heads to be making comments like these:
“The reality is the SEC Championship game was played in Athens a couple weeks ago. And yes-we blew it”.
This has to be the stupidest most ridiculous comment ever posted in the entire history of bloging (minus the: and yes we blew it part). Do you really believe this? I find it sad from a football fan standpoint the quality of UGA football fans. Some I have come across have some class, but not all. Most are AHoles. You dogs can’t EVER even give one inch of credit to any other team for their accomplishments. Total lack of class. I have been to many UGA games, even lived in Athens. I have attempted to take in some of the history & tradition of Georgia football. But the one thing that has prevented me from being able to stomach & take in the DAWGS are your fans. You guys suck. I’m sure that you all don’t care. One less DAWG fan. By the way SC, we are playing you guys because we EARNED it. It might not have been pretty, and yes we blew it against Tenn, but we are playing you guys for the SEC. Winner take all. Amazing that Calvin Johnson was shut down last night…The great All-American, All-everything receiver had two catches, because of the outstanding play of Demario Minter, but the front page of the AJC shows Calvin stretching out and making a touchdown grab. ABC circled C. Johnson on almost every offensive play in the second half. Looks like they should have been circling D. Minter. Good Job Demario! Congrats to the dawgs…great game, way to pull out the “W”.

Hey Overrated, when was the last time the gators played in the championship game or even won it? Sure you beat us again this year but it still doesn’t take away the fact that you lost to Miss. St. last year and your new head coach cries when he loses!
If we are not that good then you guys stink. We spotted you 14 and you couldn’t do anything but hold your breath and hope our back up wouldn’t beat you and our kicker keep missing the field goals.
On to better things: How about that Dawg “D”. That was a great game and I believe got us even more ready for the next 2 important games.
Go Lumpkin, it is good to see him running well again.

How is it that all Georgia fans can only remember 1 year back?? If I hear we beat the tar out of you in 2004 one more time I might laugh myself to death, that is the PAST!! If you WANT to talk about the past lets just go back 1 more year to 2003 when be beat the TAR out of you not once but TWICE!!! We threw the SEC Championship game trophy in our back pocket because we had to make room for our Crystal Ball!! Then a few our you puppy fans wanna talk about how we lost to Tennesee..hello you lost to Urban Myth’s Florida team. OK so you were missing your so-so QB but we only lost 1 game and it just might have to do with the fact that we had our whole schedule and routine thrown out of whack because of that little storm that killed 1300 people. Instead of having a warm up game or two like GA and everyone else did we had to open with several top 15 teams without much practice and chances to get the kinks out. Bottom line, we are 10-1. It should be a good game, I now live in Kennesaw GA and have my flags flying and I DARE I mean DARE anyone to meet me face to face and trash New Orleans or LA. I find it classless that several Dog fans on here made fun of the city and state about Katrina..Would you make fun of New York after 9/11? Would you make fun of the people who were killed in the Tsunami? Are you insane? Lets have fun, have a little playful smack talk and watch the game live in the dome (that we are undeafeated in). Hope its fun, exciting and no one gets hurt. Geaux Tigers! We can all be happy neither of our teams are coached by Tubberville!!

TigerBait, I will give LSU credit on a great season. However, do not think that Georgia can’t win this game this week. Remember, it took six missed field goals at home, for you to beat Auburn, or you wouldn’t even be on this post now. But to say Georgia is the fifth best team in the league, be serious. I expect a very competitive game this week and with the teams being so even, it likely will come down to special teams, like your game against Auburn, and ours against Florida. If our special teams don’t let Skyler score, I think the Dogs will win 17-13. Could also be the first overtime game in SEC championship history. They’re that evenly matched. Go Dogs!

SCDog I do think that Georgia can win the game. This game is two teams pretty evenly matched going at it. May the best team win.
By the way it was 5 field goals missed. LSU did not let them in red zone so they were forced to try field goals. One they made, five they missed. I attribute that to great defense. Dog fans talk smack about LSU winning due to missed field goals, but what you fail to get is UGA would have won if they could have stopped them as well. I also agree that field position/special team will be huge in this game. I retract my comment on LSU being ahead of GA in the special teams stats, there not.
Also, I did NOT post that Georgia was the 5th best team in the SEC. That was another blogger. I think that they are the 3rd.

To both sets of fans bickering who beat who and who lost to who. It is good that the players for the teams don’t take this BS into consideration. It doesn’t matter who you beat or who you lost to, this game is a completely different game. Both teams will be focused on each other and not the others record against other teams. This game is on a higher stage and both will play like it. Both teams beat teams the other did not, and neither have any room for braging rights on the Arkansas games. Enjoy the fact the your teams are in a championship game and deal with it, and remember that there are other teams in your confrence that could beat the both of you who are not in this game.

You won’t have to worry about a running game Tigers, Kregg Lumpkin has a bitter score to settle. Remember his dropped pass over the middle from David Greene the last time we met in ATL? It was a touchdown all the way if caught. Momentum swung your way from then on as our guys lost confidence. He’s still recovering from a torn acl he suffered in spring practice but is almost 100% now. Just remember #6. Gotta give ya credit, you’re a good team & we’re honored to play you once again, but yall can have it your way just like BK, if you want to sling a little mud,so be it.We’ll be here all week & I guarantee you’ll have your hands full with Cuz,geechee,Murphy,Animaldr,War Eagle,Shock-em,Samoan,Hunkerdown,SCDawg,TennDawg,Mike,etc… The list goes on. I’ve been to New Orleans & I loved it. The people, the food, the atmosphere overall left me with pleasant memories. But you gotta admit, when we go to Baton Rouge we never get a very warm welcome. Vandalism, foul language in front of our women & children, objects being thrown at us just because we have on red instead of yellow, people flippin’ us off on the highway…… C’mon, don’t act like Gators, let’s keep it civilized. It time to have a reality check…If Arizona State, Auburn, Bammer could kick field goals LSU would be 7-4, playing Tech in the Music City Bowl.Auburn got out-played and beat by Ga Tech, but gave the LSU game away…it was`nt penalties. They did drop a TD pass in the end zone, but we dominated their defense over 500 yards total offense, 5 missed field goals and 6 drop passes did us in.LSU has a very good football team, but we are the better team today.I will be loOking forward to attending the game and pull for the DAWGS.Bayou Bengal, where are those Chinese Bandits these days?

I went against my better judgement and logged back onto this blog. Oh well I see above that “TigerBait” didn’t like my comment on all of that duh, dat, der, nonsense. By the way brave Nimrod I’m not married to my sister and I haven’t lived in the “Great State of Georgia” for only 8 years, but 45. Do we have hillbillies in Georgia? Certainly; however how many UGA fans do you see week in/out on here talking like some inane Saturday morning cartoon? As for your comment about our level of understanding, yes we can read through that jargon (hence the reference to brer Rabbit—which obviously went over YOUR head). I’ve traveled far and wide and bumpkins are EVERYWHERE neighbor. That said, I’ll come back to good ole’ Georgia every time.
Act like a decent fan and bring some intelligent talk to the blog and drop the insipid insults. Obviously it’s not very mature (needless to say manly) to insult someone over the web is it? I had better manners instilled into me than to talk about someone’s wife—even in the anonymity of a blog. By the way, how does the mrs. take to your insulting her school, state, and fellow Bulldawgs—or does she know? Let me guess (if she even exists), she AGREES with you. R i g h t.
As for bringing up the past: I’m guilty as charged—as a response to an LSU fan (or fans) who brought up 2 YEARS AGO. Don’t like talking about the past? Neither do it. So tell your fellow “kitties” to stop bringing it up.
Smile, bro! Lighten up and enjoy the game. It’s supposed to be an entertaining respite from the mundane everyday. Certainly LSU fans—at least those from the Bayou State should understand that!

The D-MAN will attend the game with his LSU misguided friend. Said friend will lose a bet to the D-MAN and it will be a quiet ride home. Here’s the story…write it down and commit it to memory. D-MAN is calling the game here: GEORGIA 28 LSU 13. Write it on the wall. Say it to yourself. You can thank the D-MAN later. D-MAN, out. You can blog again. And yes, you can stand back up.

Georgia vs LSU. Outside of the crybabies here in the south, who gives a rat’s a** about this game. Once again the SEC is overrated.
By my calculations, Auburn lost to ACC, SC lost to ACC, TN lost to ND, FL beat ACC, LSU beat Pac 10, and one more for the SEC I believe. BUT WHERE IS THE DOMINANCE that you clowns harp on year in and year out.
There is a reason why it took Auburn forever to climb up the polls this year. The writers wanted to make sure Tuberville was no where near the position he was last year so they would not have to hear the classless POS run on and on.

War Eagle, your call for a reality check borders on the laughable. Here is why:
You start by reminding everyone that Auburn would have won at Baton Rouge if is hadn’t been for those darn missed field goals. And you do acknowledge the fact that LSU dropped “a pass in the endzone.” WRONG LSU droped TWO passes in the endzone one by Dwayne Bowe, the other by Early Doucet on separate offensive series. You FAILED to mention that LSU also missed two field goals.
You War Eagles/Plainsmen/,or whatever the hell you like to call yourselves these days,LSU lost to Auburn last year on a missed extra point kick. MISSED not blocked. Then when Auburn missed a PAT and was staring at overtime, the ref conveniently dropped a flag on a penalty that has never been called before or since.
NOW THAT IS A REALITY CHECK!
Enjoy the game and cheer for who you like, but one thing is certain. You won’t be cheering for dear ol’ Auburn.

Hey Shookleysux, I couldn’t agree with you more. What a classless for Georgia fans to do to make light of the suffering Louisianans had to endure after Hurricane Katrina and Rita.
Days before the season started, LSU football players were carrying corpses out of the Assembly Center and loading them on to helicopters to take to makeshift morgues. JaMarcus Russell and several other football players were housing 10-15 refugees in their off-campus apartments. Wonder how that might play on the mind of 18-19 year old kids and affect their preparations for a game. Several of them didn’t even know when they played Arizona State if family members from New Orleans were living or dead.
Not only that, but due to the shuffling of schedule this season as a result of the storms, LSU will have played its 12th consecutive game without a week off on Saturday.
Then Mark Richt had the audacity to imply that LSU has an advantage because the Tigers played their last game on Friday and Georgia played on Saturday, thus giving the Dogs one less day to prepare. Maybe he would like to switch places with the LSU players and experience what they have this season.
The Georgia comments were pretty classless, but not unexpected considering the source.

Hey, Dawgstyle!
I live in North Georgia and I’ve been to nearly every SEC stadium. I can tell you the fans everywhere are just about the same.
If you got treated poorly at Baton Rouge, I regret that. But I’ve always believed that if you act respectfully, you will be treated with respect.
As for getting flipped off by the LSU fans — big deal. I’ve got an LSU decal on my car and I get flipped off every day here in north Georgia.
A couple of years back, I took my wife’s aunt and husband — Georgia fans through and through — to the Georgia game in Baton Rouge. Georgia won a close ball game that year. After the game, as we were leaving, I personally witnessed many LSU fans congratulating the victors, telling them to have a safe trip back home and giving them directions to the nearest seafood restaurant.
Our fans are rabid. No doubt. But when the game is over, win, lose or draw, all they want to do is party and visiting fans are always invited to join them.

Bi-Lo Bengal,
do you actually think of all people,MARK RICHT, would comment in that fashion towards the tragedy in LOUISIANNA. some times comments are mis-percieved, i think this is one of those instances. I know of no UGA fan that thinks of this tragedy in this manner, espeically our coach.

Hey Murphy,
I think you misread my post. No I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT think Coach Richt would make light of the tragedy. I think you guys have a great coach in Mark Richt and I have nothing but respect for him. It wasn’t him that made the remarks about the hurricanes. But if you will review the posts here you will see that it was the Georgia fans who did.
Coach Richt merely implied that in this morning’s AJC that LSU had one day more to prepare for this game than Georgia did and therefore had an advantage. The statement is true. But it needed to be pointed out that LSU is also at something of a disadvantage having played in 11 consecutive games without a week off like Georgia had.

Hey Murphy,
Having one week off during the season is an advantage any way you care to spin it. Coaches wanted that week off so they could give the players a rest and injured players time to heal. Ask any coach in the SEC and I’ll bet you any amount you would like to bet that they would all opt for the week off.
Prime example is LSU RB Joseph Addai. Addai became the starter when our No. 1 tailback Alley Broussard was lost for the season with a knee injury.
Addai injured an ankle three weeks ago. He was used very sparingly against Ole Miss, played very few plays against Arkansas and is still not completely healed. A week off like the rest of the teams in the conference had would have benefitted him immensly. He’s still not 100 percent, but hopefully will play Saturday. If not we’ll have to make do with our third string rumming back Justin Vincent.

We beat Auburn and Florida…..have you looked at your record? THEY BOTH BEAT YOU! AND…IF Auburn hits FG they go to 2nd OT

How is it that Miami is ranked 10th and Georgia is ranked 13th (12th in one poll)? Am I mistaken or did Georgia just beat Georgia Tech on Tech’s home field the week after Tech beat Miami on its home field. Miami’s other loss is to a very mediocre Florida State team. Georgia’s two losses came against much more quality opponents. When can we get rid on the BullCS#5t and polls and determine the national championship by a playoff between conference champions? College football is a sport and the national champion should be determined on the field not by opinion. Georgia’s position behind Miami (as well as many other examples) in the polls demonstrate the fact that the current system is ridiculous. My solution would be an eight team playoff made up of conference champions. By using conference champions, you maintain the weekly drama of the regular season. The bowl system can remain intact. Use the current format (Rose, Fiesta, Sugar, Orange) to host the national title game as determined by the playoff. Other playoff teams would be rewarded with a trip to one of the major “BCS” bowls. Bowl games would not be diminished any more than they are under the current system. At most four teams would end up playing two extra games. People might argue that a team like Auburn (or Ohio State)would be left out of the playoff this year. My argument would be that they had their chance on the field and did not come through. At least Auburn would have had a chance in 2004 when they rightfuly deserved one. Just think of some of the teams that would still be alive for a national title. Just think of the money that could be made from television revenue. A game as great as college football deserves a system for determining its national champion that is just as great. I would be happy to discuss my plan with any television executives, conference presidents, university presidents, athletic directors and/or coaches.
Congratulations to the DAWGS and Head Coach Mark Richt on another fine season!!

You barely beat Bama, and should have lost to Auburn if not for 5 missed field goals. You keep talking about how you beat Florida & we didn’t. Newsflash you Cajun rubes….we didn’t have Shockley. How do you think Florida would play without Chris Leak or LSU without Russell? We lost to Auburn by 1 point…..That game could have gone either way. Just don’t get too cocky LSU & start thinking that you all are world beaters because you’re not. I’ve seen you play, and you are no USC or Texas.
