North Cobb Crushes Hopes of Friday’s 100th
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
North Cobb showed up for a game. Their stiffest competition this week was their scout team. The Warriors scored touchdowns on 7 consecutive possessions before punting late in the fourth quarter. It wasn’t ever a close football game, its tough to talk about.
A couple scores to note:
Campbell 29, Harrison 27
Norcross 24, North Gwinnett 14
Next Week:
Marietta at North Gwinnett

Marietta needs an offensive overhaul. The offense is way too predictable. Teams know what marietta will do on their first three plays (and of course that leads to what they will do on their fourth play). Stanley Jennings’ arm is too great and he is too good of a quarterback for 3 yard screens. He needs to be throwing passes that Brandon Jones and Jeff Schoonover threw in the modern glory days of Marietta football— deep throws over 30 yards. The offensive line needs to step it up too, in order to give Stanley more time to throw. All teams play their best athletes on both sides of the ball— Chris Tanzy is possibly the best athlete in Cobb. He needs to be at least at slot receiver. Anthony Weldon needs to be the teams go to receiver. He had the best catch of the season against Harrison. Also, big J.R. Blackmon used to shine at McEachern on D-Line, so he should be placed their to help the defense (which, besides a few recent games, haas been awesome this season). Marietta needs to become an unpredictable deep threat during the playoffs. That way, they can reach the championship and stick it to North Cobb or Harrison or whoever they will be playing. And also, Marietta needs to bring it’s A game against North Gwinnett. If they enter with their usual predictable offense, we will see a similiar result as what occured with the North Cobb game. Keys to the offense: Chris Tanzy, Anthony Weldon, deep throws, long slants, then bust it up the middle on a surprise run.
