In light of the recent State Championship run by the Buford Wolves in the softball state playoffs, I thought it would be a good idea to look back on the Lion’s softball season. The team went 18-11, improving from last year, but disappointingly missed the state playoffs for the second straight year. However four senior players deserve recognition. Daly Hite, Dani Topping, Morgan Mixon, and Lucy Goins are all four year lettermen for softball. They all helped with the Region Championship run of 2004 and the State Playoff appearance in 2005. While there Lovett career may have ended in a disappointing way, they have been a huge part of this program and their performance warrants recognition. Congratulations to the softball team once again, and hopefully they can build on this year’s improvement next year.
