Lady Lion’s Dominate in Savannah

The Lovett volleyball team continued their march to the State Championship this weekend. On Friday afternoon, while the rest of the school was at the football game, these 12 girls were on a bus heading to Savannah for the beginning rounds of the State Playoffs.

The number 2 ranked Lions first faced off against Gordon Lee winning in straight games (25-6, 25-10, 25-15). Then they moved on to defeat Savannah Country Day (25-16, 25-14, 25-12) and Walker (25-14, 25-15, 25-13). The volleyball team looks to repeat their State Runner-Up performance from last year.

It looks as if this year’s State Championship could be a repeat. If Lovett can win in their semifinal matchup on Thursday and Wesleyan wins their match, they will meet up again in the State Championship. What a rivalry? Congratulations once again to a great performance, and hopefully the team can keep it up for one more week.
