They Call it a Rivalry
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
We call it domination. Roswell extended the streak against Milton, making the current record for the past 41 yeas, 39-2. The Hornets came out with plenty of energy and kept u[ the pace all night.
Miltons schemes confused me a bit, on both sides of the ball. On offense, when single blocking Brayden Knudsen, you expect him to come away with blig plays, and thats just what Milton did, to every D lineman we had. The line was eager to comply with the scheme, coming away big last night. On defense Milton was set up against the run, and only the run, sometimes having as much as 9 players in the box, making them amazingly vulnerable to the pass, as Dustin so gladly showed them.
Hornets struck first by a 60ish pass from Dustin to Embry. Embry provided most of the work for that play, making at least four tackles miss and taking it to the house. Next strike was again, Dustin to Embry, set up by a blocked punt by Reid Shur, putting the ball DEEP into Milton territory. After that, Dustin through a pass to Ian Klipp in wide a wide open area, and Klipp took it to the house for an eighty yard TD. Fourth touchdown was a 1 yard run by Alex Daniels. Next score Ebele picked the ball off and took it to the house, making it 35-0. On the next score Jim Broadway nailed a 37 yard field goal to make it 38-0. The final score of the night was an amazing run by Steven Peasant into the end zone, making the score 45-0.
All in all, it was played the way a Roswell-Milton game was supposed to be played, Roswell putting Milton’s backs to the wall and just keeping them there. The Hornets played hard this week, and will continue this trend until the playoffs.
Stats to come for the last four games tomorrow. I’ve had trouble getting them all together. So sorry for the wait
GO HORNETS!!!!
