5-2
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Milton dropped to 1-1 in the region Friday night losing 34-14 to Centennial. Overall the team did not play their best football game of the year, but I believe that they played every snap hard and never did give up. Though the big loss at home hurt, the Eagles have no time to worry about the loss with Roswell next up on the schedule. Hopefully Milton can use the last loss as motivation going into the big Milton/Roswell rivalry game. This time around the rivalry game has much more on the line with each team standing at 5-2 with one region loss. This is a very important game for both teams and will be a crazy atmosphere at Roswell Friday night.

As ugly as it looked, the team never gave up. In past seasons, the stands would ahve been empty at the half and the team would have given up.
We lost because of a very POOR game plan. Coaches need to burn the mid nite oil this week.
Best way to silence the critics is to WIN !
SENIORS , its time to make some noise on that field. You lead the team!
You WIN and your IN !
Go EAGLES

Long Time Fan here to say “fan no more” after last night’s embarrassment.
“It’s the largest margin of victory in the history of this rivalry”, to quote the paper.
Thank you players once again for playing hard and not giving up even though your coaches never really gave you a chance.
Thank you Mr. Tesch once again for playing politics instead of hiring a coach who knows something about football and winning! When do you retire? Hope it’s soon!
“Hornets coaches saw that Milton’s defense was set up to stop Alex Daniel and the Roswell running game, so they turned to the air”
What did our coaches notice? Clearly it was not the scoreboard! What adjustments did they make? Oh, how could anyone forget? You only have to read the papers! The ONLY goal is to showcase our running backs. Winning or losing does not matter as long as the offense goes through our runing backs. It’s only an afterthought, but if we can throw a little and play a little defense we’ll still win. Not!
Now it will be interesting to see if our coaches can pull it together to beat Alpharetta. How about we let the players develop and execute the game plan for Alpharetta? I guarantee it would involve a win and would not involve an offense that runs the ball 9 out of 10 plays!
Can somebody help our coaches come into the modern football age? How do we get our head coach to shut up about our running backs and stop relying on running the ball up the middle as our primary weapon? Once again, they will think their game plan worked because we gained over 200 yards rushing the ball. At the end of the day, what did we really gain? We still could not score, could not consistently move the ball, our punter got a great workout, we’re on the verge of a 5-5 season, and the head coach clearly has one foot out the door.
Jackson, Caldwell and now soon to be Walker? Who’s next? For the parents of our Freshmen, Sophomores and Juniors, for your sake, let’s hope you help end Tesch’s tradition of political appointments to the head football position so you might see our first playoff win.
5-5 is my prediction now! I hope I’m wrong for the sake of all our players who have worked so hard this year.
It’s time for a change Eagle’s fans!
I’m outa here!

Fan no more, my nephew is a Senior on the team and let me emphasize it was a very sad night for us after Roswell. We had high expectations, we painted hair, bought air horns, wore red- and I believe all of the team especially the Seniors went in thinking we actually had a chance, and it just didn’t work. I would say to you for the teams sake not to give up on them. They did try to throw the ball this time, they are not used to that when under this kind of pressure. I don’t know about politics, I myself haven’t seen it and my nephew hasn’t complained of any since the new coaching staff has been on board, he especially speaks highly of 3 Coaches I can think of off the top of my head and has learned a great deal fromt them. If nothing else we learned from this past loss with Roswell that sometimes no matter how hard one tries, stuff happens and it DOES NOT go well in life at times. I can think of a few things I can apply that theory of thought to in my own life. And when things don’t go well, we don’t need ones around us who are supposed to be in our corner, turning their backs on us. Long time, I am surprised about your blog and need you to take a good look at why you are or were a fan. We have a long way to go with the Eagles but we have come a long way. I have faith that these guys will put a good old fashioned whipping on Alpharetta and although I won’t be there to see that game, it’s gonna be good to see my niece and nephew come in with smiles on their faces because at the end of the day no matter if the game is won or lost, the guys are always trying hard and it is always good to be a Milton Eagles Fan- in their corner, and down with them.

Reg, I’ve had three children in the program under three different coaches and I’ve seen nothing this year to indicate anything has changed except this coaching staff is better to the players then those in the past, they seem to want to do the right things, however, like their predecessors, they lack basic football knowledge to win games. Why should we suffer through losing seasons while inexperienced coaches control the outcome? Why can’t Milton for once bring somebody in with a winning record who understands the modern game of football and takes Milton to the playoffs. I’m afraid it’s too late for this year’s team, but how long do we put up with mediocre football minds? I’m all for “feel good” stories, but when does the winning start against teams with winning records and when it really matters?

Fair enough, Fan. Take care, but don’t forget, the record is getting better, wish you the best and of course wishing the team the best.
