Do Not Let Your Guard Down

The title of this blog is in my opinion the keys to friday night’s game. The Peachtree Ridge Lions will travel to Forsyth Central to take on the Bulldogs (2-2). On paper the game looks like it could be a blowout in favor of Peachtree Ridge. Look at Central’s record of 2-2. One win came off of a weak AA school (Dawson County) and the other came off of Duluth (No explanation Needed). They lost to Milton and North Gwinnett. Let me rephrase that, they were beaten by North and Milton. Granted both of those teams may make the playoffs. All in all, this Forsyth Central team is definetely not up to par with the big dogs of AAAAA (no pun intended). So what should we have to worry about? Nothing…..right? Wrong.

Now let’s go back in time a ways to last year. Coming into the game, FC had one win (against the same lowly Dawson County team). Yes, they even got destroyed by Duluth 27-0. They were not a good team. Peachtree Ridge was coming off of a heartbreaking 6-3 loss to Norcross. The Ridge defense hadn’t allowed an offensive TD all year. At halftime, Forsyth Central not only had the lead, but they had control of the entire game. Now granted, Peachtree Ridge came back in the late minutes and won 27-20, but boy was it scary.

So now, do you understand where I am coming from? Peachtree Ridge better not come out overlooking these Bulldogs, by looking ahead to next week’s matchup with other Bulldogs (North Gwinnett). This Forsyth Central team is better than last year. And one win can spark a potential playoff run for them. So they have a lot to play for and I’m sure they will come out firing. This is a trap game for Peachtree Ridge, between two huge games (Norcross and North). So they better not let their guard down, or they could get bitten (pun intended).

Thanks for your comment!

Heh, I liked your puns (intended or not) and I like your explanation of Duluth…
