Milton Moves to 3-1
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

In a complete team effort, Milton defeated Pope last night 21-0. The offense was consistent, the defense was dominant, and the special teams did their job this week. The offense came into the game believing they could pound the ball all night into Pope’s defense and succeeded in doing so. The O-line and lead blocking from Mike Johnson gave Toney Williams and Lance Martin big holes to run through throughout the game. Andrew Matteison managed the game well at quarterback and had some solid passes on crucial 3rd down situations.
The defense had another great game shutting out Pope to a goose egg. Pope had no luck running the ball against Milton and had to go to the air early. Parker Philpot had two interceptions and was a big contributor in shutting down the passing game. Andrew Quinland blocked a punt late in the game, and Tommy Stahalek scooped it for the score. This team seems to be getting better every week on each side of the ball.
Roswell surprisingly lost to Walton last night 13-10 I believe, which puts them at 3-1. We play at Lassiter next week on a two game winning streak, and it will be a good test for us to see how we match up against some of the better teams in our region. View image
