Spirited Mercy Bobcats Fall Short to Athens Christian Academy

Bostick’s 5 TD’s Too Much for Our Lady of Mercy
Athens Christian Academy and Our Lady of Mercy traded possessions and played to a scoreless first quarter. In the second quarter, each team scored twice, a quarter in which Athens Christian Academy held a 14-0 lead. Mercy sent the game tied at the half 14-14 thanks to a 98 yard kickoff return by Dominique McDermott and a 30yard touchdown pass from William Pearl to Derek Schawan. Mercy tied the score at 21 when William Pearl hit Dominique McDermott with a swing pass in which he raced 40 yards for a touchdown. Bostick scored his 4th touchdown with 2:56 remaining in the 3rd quarter. The 3rd quarter ended with Athens Christian leading 28-21. Mercy blew an opportunity to tie the game when a wide-open receiver dropped a perfect pass from QB William Pearl. Kicker Jacob Lescene kicked a field goal to bring Mercy within 4 points—-28-24. Bostick would finish off mercy with one more touchdown to put the game out of reach with 4:19 remaining on the clock in the 4th quarter. Overall, the Bobcats played a good game. Go Bobcats!!!
