The Grayson Rams Get Trampled On

The Norcross Blue Devils had won their past two Friday night games with flying colors. With the third game taking place at the Blue Devil Stadium, the Devils were ready to take on the Rams; others, however, thought differently.

Some people had wondered how this past Friday’s Norcross-Grayson game would end up. Last year, Norcross barely defeated Grayson 7-6, and then later in the playoffs into double-overtime at 27-21. I thought that this game would be a nail-biter and hoped that our team would not get cocky; I couldn’t have been more wrong. The Grayson Rams couldn’t get past us to make a single touchdown. The Blue Devils hit the ground running in the first quarter at 7-0, then a field goal plus another touchdown later to make it 17-0 at half-time. As the Blue Devils prepared for the second half, the Norcross band took the stage (in the rain, might I add) to further anticipate the Blue Devil win!

When the Blue Devils returned, the Rams had managed to get a three-point field goal for the game; the cheer of the Grayson fans quickly faded as we answered with an 80-yard run for a touchdown which had inevitably silenced the Rams for good at a stunning 24-3. After all, 3-0 is the way to go! Yeah Norcross!

Woo we absolutely shut down Grayson! And after seeing the game against North Forsyth, I can honestly say I think our practice is over and we’re ready to show up Peachtree Ridge next week. Who’s with me?
