The 2007 football season kicked off Friday night as the Milton Eagles stomped Forsyth Central in a dominate defensive performance 14-0. The Eagles much improved defense returns 9 starters, including last years leading tackler Drew Collins. Collins led the defense in tackles again Friday with 7 solo tackles, 4 assist, and 2 sacks. Six players on defense had atleast three or more solo tackles in the game. Forsyth Central did not score on the Milton , and even worse they did not even cross the Milton 35 yard line. The huge crowd seemed to give Milton a huge boost on the playing field. The hardcore student section was led by the diehard Milton football fan, Jordan Wright.
The Milton offense was led by the best running back duo in the region Lance Martin and Toney Williams with a combined 284 rushing yards. Williams averaged 7.6 yards a carry and had one rushing touchdown. The new Milton quarterback, Andrew Mattieson, went 8-17 for 139 yards and one passing touchdown to Toney Williams. The Eagles executed on both sides of the ball and will be confident playing at Etowah next week. View image

yea lets kick Etowa’s a* this week. Come out and play as if we were playing Roswell. We came so close to beating them last year and the were co state champions. I believe that we can be state champs if we punch the clock and play every down like it was the last one you will ever play. The Milton Eagles are way better than they ever have been and it is time to prove it on the feild. We have worked to hard this summer and this winter to have a losing season this year. Its time to change Milton Football history and I know that we can do it if we just punch the clock and treat every practice as a game. GO EAGLES!!!!

Hey Milton Eagles!!!!!!! This is one of your biggest fans here and I just want to say Congrats on the win last week! Your soaring higher than I have ever seen and I am very proud of each and every one of you boys for all of your hard work and dedication, it IS paying off- Big shout out to all the coaches doing a great job as well!!!! See you in the Friday night lights fellas, have fun, be safe and above all, kick some a** !!!!!!

Hey guys, sure enough there was a loss last night, but you all played your hearts out. You got in there and didn’t let them score but a few points so my hats off to you for it. I saw some things out there that I would just call plain ugly by the refs and of course that didn’t help you all either. I look forward to seeing how this learning experience pans out at the next game fellas. Practice hard, and PUNCH THE CLOCK this Friday.
