Well, here we go!!! Friday night!! And it’s raining. Dang. But, in a little while it’s off to Sharpsburg to watch the #3 Newnan Cougars square off with their arch-cross county-rival, the E. Coweta Indians. Eh, just another victim for the Cougars!! Go Cats!! Hope you make it there Todd. Should be a much more exciting time than last week!

Rome-Sprayberry game will not begin until after 10 p.m. tonight. No officials were assigned to call the game, so the officials from the Marietta-Kennesaw Mt. game will be brought over here after the completion of that game. Keep the fires burning in Rome for the people who will be dragging back to NW Georgia much later tonight than expected.

Don’t even think about a North Georgia Title winner in AAAAA football, folks. It will either be Camden County or Lowdnes County.
Nobody in N. GA can play football the way they do it (right) in S. Ga. This comes from one who played during Valdosta’s reign in the early and mid-50’s!!
Personally, I think Lowdnes has just enough horsepower to overtake Camden and win not only the Region crown but will play their “B” squad against the best N. GA has to offer. try again in about 40 years metro Atlanta…

CNA:
4 of 8 titles, huh? You apparently haven’t read all the NATIONAL press accounts of the multiple, and I mean multiple titles won by teams from below the “gnat line.”
I would venture that Valdosta HS has won more state and NATIONAL titles than all the N. GA teams COMBINED…look it up. Go to USA Today’s “High School Football” section and read away and see if the “4 of 8 titles” is even worth wasting a breath over…

Dunwoody 20 SPX 14 with 7:48 to go. Dunwoody’s O-line is doing a great job. They are doen to their third string running back and they’re still gaining 5 yards per carry. I expected this game to go to St. Pius. Dunwoody looks VERY good.

Etowahisawesome…chill out…just having some good fun. I’m an old south Georgia boy until college which was then as far in north Georgia you could get. I love both parts. I do believe south Georgia football top to bottom in classifications is better than the north, though. Brookwood either needs to send their coaching staff out to Texas and see what real high school offensives are doing these day or even better, try to hire some Texas coaches (doubt any would come). Brookwood offense has been too predictable and boring for years. Most years they have the athletes but they are not used to the fullest of their potential. Come on Brookwood upgrade either the offense or coaching staff; we’re going to sleep in the stands.

let the flawed play-offs: I’ve lived in 4 states, including Calif and Texas and each of them uses region (some call them district, but it’s the same thing) seedings to do match ups and higher seeded teams are home teams with a preset home field if the two teams have the same seeding. Seems to work for all of them. Teams should get an advantage for playing well all season and coming in 1st or 2nd.
Get over it and quit whining.

Dearest Mom, I’m a Georgia native that lived in Texas for a number of years before being transferred back. Georgia high school football is good but overall does not hold a candle to Texas. We can be just as good as Texas but we’re are still way behind. GA football when compared to TX football is like watching good women’s basketball versus watching good men’s basketball. Don’t be so defensive just look to the best (TX) to improve your own game. If you would check the rosters of the Top Ten college teams you will see significantly more players with a Texas high school background than other states. They just take football a lot more serious than GA does.

Drake is a Fake!!!
What the heck, ourvarsity.com had Grayson losing to Central Gwinnett because of Diante who? Lol, Its been Grayson offense, Grayson offense all season, did any one realize Grayson Defense has held these games to what they were? Diante Drake went negative yardage tonight. Grayson played partial secondary the second and third quarters and full secondary the fourth quarter, he could not even score on them. Central finally had to throw a small pass to score in the third from the 15 yard line. I just love sitting back watching People underestimate our Rams. That boy is in no way ready for the next level if he cant score on a secondary Defense at the high school level. As a matter of fact, all these D-1 running backs Gwinnett is suppose to have, have done nothing against our Rams. Were are the real D-1 backs? It should be fun once we get to that level of playoffs, when the real backs show up. Also, every one says Grayson had no D-1 players, any answers on how we are doing it?
16,#18,#45,#61,#74,#36,#35,etc……Oh, and who predicted North Gwinnett to lose? I did, we all know they are a passing team, you cant pass in the rain, congrats Ptree Ridge!
On the down side, our QB made a few attempts at throwing, that were quit embarrassing tonight (hide)

Texas plays neutral field unless the participating coaches agree to flip a coin for home field advantage. Rarely do coaches agree to a coin flip therefore 99.99% of the playoff games are played on a neutral field. If a state the size of Texas can do it then why can’t Georgia? Are we afraid of providing an even playing field for the playoffs? They also don’t have this ‘play-up’ stuff. Your district (same as a GA region) contains schools with the correct size classification; unlike Georgia’s (i.e)region 3AAAAA.

This year wasn’t it 21 - 0 Hoyas? Last year didn’t the hoyas go to the 2nd round of the playoffs and aren’t the Hoyas the 2nd seed this year? I suppose I don’t even need to bring the KM playoff record do I? if I did it would be a VERY short post as in 0 for 0.

The better team did not win tonight. It was evident that Pius played a poor game, which was bound to happen since they haven’t played poorly all year and Dunwoody capitalized on the mistakes, props to them.
On another hand, Dunwoody may have the most disrespectful fans on the face of the planet. I’d be ashamed to even be associated with that school, to be completely honest.

Yeah the better team, (DUNWOODY), definitely won tonight. Pius plays so dirty. Why do you think all our backs were going down. Hmm, because they are out of shape? No, because y’all were taking them out. Trevor Scales ran all over your defense tonight and if he didn’t get hurt by your players, the score would not have even been close. 147 yards on 21 carries and 2 touchdowns in a game where he barely played the second half. Yeah, Pius is really a better team. NOT!! You’re just mad we beat you on your home field when no one expected it, except all Dunwoody fans of course. As for our fans, we don’t care what you think, nor do we want you associated with our school. Good luck in the playoffs St. Pius.

There is no big secret to Grayson’s success. Team football and a ball control offense. They just eat up the clock and the defense is always fresh. They are 2 or 3 deep at every position. They seem to have situational players like the pros. I see players that would come in a game that could be stars on other teams. How many touchdowns the defense score tonight? They sound like they took care of business. I was worried they would be flat but it sounds like they are the same team based on the score. Please tell us more about Grayson game, I think they should be watched in the playoffs. They might sneak up on some teams and go far.

A 10-6 week for the guru of gridiron guessing, which isn’t terribly bad considering that all of the games were meaningful and full of intrigue in the last week of the season. A few random thoughts…
Latenight is reserved for David Letterman and Jay Leno. High school football games shouldn’t end anywhere around midnight…
Congrats to Sprayberry on that win over Rome. I was one of the people that thought that the north side would crush the southside, but Sprayberry topples Rome and Hillgrove smacks around Dalton. No CatScratch fever this year in the playoffs. Another shoutout to Sequoyah…
Sorry you had to lose the game, Harrison, but I sure am glad to get that monkey off my back. What a job by Bill Stewart in his three seasons at Etowah. If you look at where that program was and where it is now, it is nothing less than a stunning turnaround…
Sure is quiet in Paulding County tonight. East comes away as the No. 3 seed. WOW, just didn’t see that coming, but what a job by Woodstock. Not given much of a chance by anyone, I couldn’t be happier for coach O’Brien and his players. Quite a feel good story…
On the opposite end of that spectrum is Kennesaw Mountain. Another year without a trip to the playoffs.

Here is the real deal WACO - Dunwoody will be okay what you saw tonight was a very good TEAM. To win without one of the best backs in the state not playing in the fourth quarter says alot about the TEAM. #32 will be fine it got rather dirty but hey that is football as you saw tonight they never shy away from a fight. Of course Dunwoody did not get any calls all night like the chop blocks on #80 all first half. Pius fan, in your house you just got your butt kicked, Dunwoody fans were respectful and just supported their team thru-out the game. Pius fans sat on the hands oh yea that’s right there was not much to cheer about until the second half kick off. Pius fan if you guys do not get that kickoff return the game is over right then. Hey your team fought well but the better team won tonight period. Oh Yea like I always say Dunwoody is 1-0 for so thru week ten I believe that 10-0.

Greg Reid is fine. He limped once after a play, came out, went back in and promptly picked off another pass. Vikes were flat since they had #1 wrapped up, and they made several errors including at least three fumbles, but they took care of business and will be glad to be back home next week in round one. Congrats to Warner Robins for playing tough the entire game. Both of their scores were legit vs. Lowndes 1st-teamers, including a 73-yard pass-run.
WR Stadium announcer needs to shut up and quit using his microphone to try to fire up the home team … very low-class and annoying, but the Lowndes home PA guy is almost as bad … talks way too much, reads too much crap nobody cares about, and needs to be more neutral in calling the game.
To all stadium PA guys … you are NOT doing radio play by play! We can see about EVERYTHING you’re shouting over the PA system. Please … learn to tone it down and be cool and laconic (look it up!)
Brookwood Mom … one more time … If Grayson and Lowndes play it can NOT be in the finals in the Dome. Look at your brackets and see they would meet in the 3rd round Nov.28.
Good night it’s too late.

Don’t like to make a big deal about regular season rankings, but when your rankings are sooo flawed and foolish I have to say something!!!! You still think TCC is not in your words, a “top ten” team hanh? The AP poll had TCC at number 10, which is more accurate and closer to reality!!! Your #2, #5, and #9 teams in AAAA all went down!! I had no problem with your #2 team Statesboro, but Rome at #5, and Villa Rica and North Clayton were all waay off base!!!! Come on man, you have got to show a little better football IQ than what you have been showing!!!! Heck, let Chris Whitfield have a poll…he seems to have a more statewide view and knowledge of what’s going on with these teams!!!! Can’t wait to see how you rank teams this week!!!

To Mistermak…Camden did not play bad, they just got shut down. Remember that game was 10-0 at the half. Coach Herron new his was in for a fight, thats why he onside kicked after there 1st score in the second half. Then Camdens avg. starting field position in 2cd half was the 50 yard line. Camden wins game 31-0 but that score does not tell the real story. Camden has a great team but they had to play VARSITY FOOTBALL all nite to get those 31 points. Camdens play-offs started last nite and it just get tougher. Good Luck to Camden,Bradwell and the rest of REGION 3AAAAA, if you have seen those brakets, your gonna need it.

I have to give it up to the Colquitt Co. Packers……I expected a snoozer last night due to the game being pretty much meaningless to them…..I was wrong ,the Packers put on a good show from start to finish…. They never laid down , even down 31-0 with a couple ticks left on the clock, they were determined to score…..I like their spread offense, and they run it pretty good with a bunch of young kids…Rush Propst has laid down a good foundation for them…Once he gets his young kids in the weight room, improve on defense and perfect the spread , I think in a year or two Colquitt will be a force to be reaconed with in region-1.

Regarding the Camden/Bradwell Game
Congratulations to Bradwell for providing a little more competition than the rest of the region. Played hard, making progress, but not there yet.
General observations:
1) Bradwell was not able to manage a sustained drive against that defense and never really had a scoring threat until late. (see comments below on that) 2) Camden needed to take better care of the football in the first half (3 fumbles in the first quarter. 3) Several dropped passes that would have resulted in TD’s. 4) Final score was about as good as Bradwell could have hoped for. Would be interested in seeing the final stats for the game. Camden did not attempt a punt all night. 5) The reason that Camden went with the onside kick was that they recognized that Bradwell was playing a little bit off the 50 and that they had linemen up front. They have dome this before. 6) I don’t know why Camden went on 4th and long late in the 4th from inside his own 40 (running the ball no less) unless Coach Herron wanted to see how the defense would react to that situation. They have not had a lot of opportunities like that this season.
East Coweta vs Bradwell next week. Should be a pretty good game. Creekside coming to Camden. Don’t think they have the offensive firepower required.

I wish there was an official association that could punish the MORONS at GHSA for their tie breaker systems and other mickey mouse rule changes each year. Is it finally time to give Sprayberry a little respect? After nearly two decades of 5AAAAA futility the Jackets made the playoffs for the first time in forever last year. Badly overmatched by Brookwood, Sprayberry was bounced in the first round.
This year, after replacing most of both the offensive and defensive lines, the kicking game, and three other defenders now playing on Saturdays, it took a little while to season the new players, and Sprayberry stumbled out of the gate. After those first three games, however, in which Sprayberry got better and better, the Jackets have reeled off seven straight wins, finishing with a stirring upset victory over highly ranked Rome.
This teams has two things going for it that can send them deep into the playoffs, possibly even to the Dome. 1. a stout defense that held Rome to 6 points. This D can keep them in most any game, something Coach Shack preaches loud and clear. 2. A running, ball control offense unlike any other. The one-two punch of QB Forrest Holt and RB David Carter has to be respected, because either can peel off a big play with any snap from any place on the field. Most importantly, Coach Shackleford has instilled in this team a confidence unlike they have ever had. This team knows its going to win, they know they’re gonna stop the other team, and they know points are going to be scored. We’re excited for the playoffs! Go Jackets!

The current GHSA tiebreaker system has been in use for several years now. Regions can agree to other provisions, so if you don’t like the way things are done, the coaches agree to do it this way. Coming into the season, everyone knows what the rules are. It isn’t like this is a surprise to anyone at the end of the year.

I may be wrong but I’m pretty sure the coaches within a Region do not devise any rules. The non-coaches and coaches from yester-year on the GHSA board down in Thomaston set all policy when it comes to rule changes and tie breaker systems. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

After a rainy night at the stadium, I could use a good laugh. Where is that comic from Pepperell? I’d enjoy hearing how they deserve to be ranked ahead of Buford again. Real knee slapper.
Tried to warn Statesboro about Brunswick. And what happened to Dalton and Rome? Banneker? Tucker gets a tougher home game next week than they were hoping for. Expect a fight from Whitewater.

PASSING! what type of offense does north have?? hmmmm A PASSING OFFENSE! OMG that makes since now doesnt it? are you guys seeing a pattern or do i need to spell it out for you? I may be wrong but I’m pretty sure the coaches within a Region do not devise any rules. The non-coaches and coaches from yester-year on the GHSA board down in Thomaston set all policy when it comes to rule changes and tie breaker systems. Please correct me if I’m wrong.
The GHSA board does not DO anything without the approval of the state executive committee which is comprised mainly of one representative from each region which is usually a coach. However, each region can individually determine its own tiebreaker if they do not want to use the GHSA tiebreaker method.
From the WHITE BIBLE:
“Four (4) representatives from each region will enter the post-season playoffs. Each region will determine the way to designate the four representatives and their placement in the region (i.e., first place, second place, third place and fourth place). In case there is a tie between two teams and the region does not have a different written tie-breaker plan, the following tie-breaking procedures will be used:”
I added the bold parts to show that each region can do it differently if they so choose. If you are mad about the tiebreaker method, then blame the coaches and athletic directors in your region.

Region 1AAAAA is over rated. I saw Lowndes,Valdosta,Coffee,Colquitt County,Warner Robins and Houston County all play Northside Warner Robins this year. And only super team Lowndes seemed to really be top notch. If Northside fans would get in here and just be honest about , we can be the best judge of how tough this region is. I saw Northside play all five playoff in each of the past 2 year and some of the teams we played in the past two years could easily play and win in this region. The region has only a couple or three proven great coaches. I love my Northside Eagles 2008 but i know , Northside 2006 or 2007 would absolutely would beat this team by at least 35 points. But Northside 2008 beat all of the region 1AAAAA teams not including Superteam Lowndes. Folks Northside is not that good on offense this year. We only scored 7 points on AAA team this year.Carver ,Columbus would beat most of the teams in 1AAAAA.

Blackscopian……..I disagree with you on a couple things….First Congrats to Lowndes ,Tift ,Coffee and other Region-1 teams for an exciting regular season….I was not a believer of Region 1 supremacy at the beginning of the season, but after seeing the number of gifted athletes in the region ,I am a believer now……Blackscopian, I think if you look at the calibre of teams in region 1 from top to bottom there’s no comparison around the state….An all region-1 semi-finals,can’t see it….but this is the best region we’ve played in…..maybe only the WR ,Westside region that we were part of in 2002 was close….and Carver’s not just a AAA team their D-line is as good as it gets, they would embarrass any AAAAA squad in the state…..Congrats to my Northside Eagles, after losing 14 starters from 2007 and maybe not having the best offense we’ve seen this decade from Green St, still 9-1 , 6-1…The scrimmage games are finally over, let the real season begin!

I hope I never have to read a more pathetic post again, because that’s just dumb. There’s a reason why he’s being recruited more then anybody on Dunwoody.

An unbiased observation Dunwoody is the better team. I watched the game on TV and saw more calls go Pius’ way than Dunwoodys. Additionally, a great team can play when their star goes down (Dunwoody did, Pius didn’t).
The hard reality is that neither of these teams played much of a season in terms of opponents in their respective subregions (Pius had N. Atlanta, Grady, Riverwood, etc and Dunwoody had Towers, Druid HIlls, Clarkston etc). And it appears (from a quick glance at the AJC pages on both schools) that their toughest games were all at the beginning of the season. Hard to keep the energy and focus up when each game isn’t to tough.
It does appear that when both teams played the same opponent (Oconee County) Dunwoody beat that school much more easily than Pius.
Can’t speak for the fans, but I can say that putting the visiting team in front of the home fans doesn’t seem so far — to me — does it to you?
From the television perspective, Pius lost because they weren’t the better team and in spite of the fact that so many calls went their way. (Watch the game at the point where Treavor Scales got hurt and then see about fair play!)

What’s all this talk about Scales? It didn’t matter what back was in the game, anyone could have ran through those holes. Their offensive line is one of the best around because of their size and that was evident last night. We were abused on the line of scrimmage, plain and simple. I’m not real sure why we couldn’t tackle all of a sudden.
But if you watched the other games Pius played this year, you’d know that Pius played their worst game of the year last night and still lost by 6 points and we were maybe 2 yards away from a 1st down and possibly a game-winning drive. And again, you can’t judge that Pius/Oconee game because the score was like 28-7 at the early in the 3rd and then we had one player for our team (that is a backup) that fumbled twice and led to two touchdowns. The game was very close but it’s not because Pius is on the same talent level as Oconee, it’s because we had some backups in against the starters of Oconee (and the best QB in the state) and nearly cost us the game. Every team in the state plays bad teams, duh but we also played Carver Atlanta, Gainesville, Marist, and Washington and beat all of them compared to a much easier Dunwoody schedule.
Pius had Jonathan Carter out, who would have been the second best back on the field behind Moon, but he was out for the season. And we had another wing back out as well, that is a starter so give me a break with all these injuries for Dunwoody.
I’d rank Dunwoody behind Washington and Carver (Atlanta) to be completely honest.

East Paulding Raiders I have been reading these blogs all year, and I really thought the boneyard was going to be a nice place like McEachern. I don’t want to sound rude after we beat you so badly, but that place was awful. The parking was terriable and the visitors side was a joke. I guess the build up was a let down. I also thought that you guys had a good team. You were only a little better than south cobb and Cherokee. Again, I don’t want my first post to sound ugly, but I was dissapointed by the team, and the stadium. Sorry.

Seriously though man, we all see that the ep team is suspect which is no suprise to me….but I must be honest, I didn’t think Woodstock would be them, especially since they are world beaters in that brutal boneyard!!!!! But you know what….we all see that the ep bloggers are more suspect than the team!! We have not seen any commentary from the ep folks about the game….who didn’t play well, who dropped a key pass, who was the one man show on the woodstock team…..nothing man!!! This is atypical for those ep talkers….You all have heard me say this before on this blog…the ep fans talk smack and talk smack, but when they lose they go into hibernation!!!
My team(TCC), got their azz handed to them last week by Westside Macon 51-0 and that is an understatement!!! But I got on here and posted(a great deal I might add) about the details of the game…no excuses…just gave credit to where credit is due!!!! No stuff about Westside has one player at QB and without him they wouldn’t be that good….none of that junk that ep bloggers like to scream!!! If you are a true fan you can accept that on that night Dunwoody was the better “Team” As for Scales and the other Dunwoody players that are potential D1 players they have earned it on field but most importantly in the class room. HOYADAWG - I saw Kell vs Woodstock. Etowah’s bye week. Woodstock had this game all but won, and had several players suspended at the time. This was very early in the season, and non-region of course. Kell had over a 90 yard drive with time expiring to winn the game. All Woodstock needed to do was kick a field goal, but they opted to go for it on fourth down. ok, once again Grayson is in the play-offs. with that being said let’s understand it’s from a defense that is fast— mean— and very aggressive (ive herd about all the great D-1 running back’s) and what happens when the ram’s D shows-up? they get shut down, if the ram’s defense has a hole it’s that they look for the big hit and not always the big play… as for the rams offense it’s pretty much a running game a steady diet of pemberton in your face and not much else with a QB that cant seem to pass the ball very well and a Offensive coach that seems to have only 2-3 plays that’s not much of a mix-up… with the play-offs here i hope conn has something up his sleeve because the running hole’s go away with team’s that have gap control and discipline, look what happened @ Camden last yr , if the QB cant pass long then pass short or put a back in that can pass and run the option but spread it out for love of god and lets win the championship… good luck to all the teams

Dekalb Unknown… I looked for you Friday but couldn’t find you. I’m straight-up a Pius supporter and have to agree with you that Dunwoody was the better team LAST Friday night. Regarding other Friday nights, we’ll never know - and that’s why we play the games. The primary difference in the game was the way the DHS lines controlled the SPX lines. I could have run through the holes your offensive line was opening. That’s not a slam on Scales - he is VERY good. Some of the other Dunwoody supporters on here have claimed we played a dirty game - that’s not true. That was a hard-fought game on both sides of the ball by both teams. SPX had just about as many kids go out as did Dunwoody. The refs let them play (though we did have a mystery call of “chop blocking” when we were on Defense!) and people get racked up sometimes. I hope that 32 and 80 are back soon - they’re special players. And #5 ain’t bad - that was a pretty good blind side lick he put on our safety. BUT, your young fans were the worst that I’ve seen in a LONG time. Chanting Pius Sucks, pushing mothers down or out of the way, chasing the players to the locker room to yell out vile profanities, singling out players names to chant - - that is the epitome of classless. You and some of the other responsible members of your community need to get that cleaned up - it was disgraceful. Good luck in the playoffs - see you at the Dome.

Etowah08: Wasn’t looking for love. I pretty much praised Woodstock for a great win. They have a good team. Etowah has a good team. They (not you) earned the championship…grow up. Check the blogs, this was my first one, and it was after a loss. Wasn’t bragging or making excuses. We got beat. As far as the calls, I think you need to read more into that. That’s all I will say. I thought all season long our kids have played pretty well in AAAAA and stepped up to the challenge. We like to think we have a good program and look forward to playing in the region. It should be good games for the next few years. I hope the whole region does good in the playoffs. Trojandude: In your language…whatever “Dude”. Fatbob: Who’s your team?

Dawg Gone you are right if that was happening from the students i am sure it will be dealt with by their principle this week because no matter what happens one should maintain some class. As for the game wow it was hard fought by both teams of course the weather was nasty but hey that’s football. I was down on the field when #32 went down he made it clear what was happening at the end of each tackle by couple of st. pius players. #32 and #80 will be okay for friday night however they may only have limited roles so that they can get more rest. Everyone keep talking about the size of our line and the holes #32 was running thru which is what any back would love to have and be able to do each carry. Remember I told you earlier last week many of those kids have been together since the 7th grade so the timing is unbelievable. But I am sure if you were to ask those lineman it’s also great to have a back like Scales that not only gets and gives you 8 yards per carry but he can break it on every carry. Good luck to the Lions make region 5AAA proud as I know that’s what you guys will do. All you hear is talk about middle georgia and south georgia football well everyone better take notice 5AAA has talent. Again Thanks and good luck in the playoffs. Proud to be a Wildcat Parent .

If any calls should have been made they should have been made against EP..One for a player (on defense) for arguing with the ref. and the other for the coach, on the field arguing with the ref. flags should have been thrown.

Hey BigBob,
I’m glad you and others see what I’ve been saying for almost a year now…the ep fans are a trip!!!! They have more fans to blog than any other school….all year long….EAST THIS, EAST THAT, BONE YARD THIS, BONE YARD THAT, TICK TICK…..LOAD THE CANNON…..ALL THAT BULL S**, and when they lose they all of a sudden got lock jaw….and they wonder why their program don’t have statewide acclaim!!!! Listen with weak azz fans like them, ep will continue to look good…………but hit them in the mouth one good time, and they will back down and fade away just like their fans!!!!! I wouldn’t be suprised at all if they lose to Milton next week!

All this hype about EP and their great stadium…Parking was the pits, the kids waving people in had no clue where people where to park.
I expected to see something spectacular (as the blogs made it out to be a 5 star venue) Maybe it was for Paulding Co.
The only thing the cannon did was make noise.
Keep your fans on your side instead of coming over to the visitors side looking for trouble.

I think all bloggers will pretty much agree on the Ep bloggers, A joke, You run and hide! I think EPDAD11 is one of the former bloggers. I dont believe for one second that this guy just shows up on here after a lose. The boneyard is a joke also. Hey realistic, I dont want you to ever respond to me, nor do I want any of the East bloggers to support the Hoyas in the playoffs. I will support Etowah, And Woodstock, but I have to admit I like Walton. I like schools and bloggers with class. I really don’t want East to represent our region.

Bigpappi, great game, great team! I don’t know what is wrong with the Hoyas, That is not the way we played 1-7, but it is how we played Mceachern and Marietta. Even on our best day, I would not say we would have beat you friday, but I will say it would have been a better game. Wildman looked for you at the summit, and was letdown, I personaly am not that big on meeting bloggers, but have enjoyed the talk. Good luck at Lassiter, better you than us. Your secondary will be tested.

WOW!!!…Let EAST drop a game and suddenly we’re barely better than South Cobb or Cherokee…LOL!
Let me says this ONE MORE TIME…Our FIRST year in 5A AAAAA play and EAST goes 8-2 and comes within the last 2 minutes of the final regular season game of WINNING THE REGION…
Congratulations to Etowah on their win, they were probably the toughtest team EAST played all year.
AS far as the EAST / WOODSTOCK game it was a tough fought game all night long…back and forth…in spite of what some folks have posted NOBODY handled the other team easily, this game came down to the LAST 2 minutes. EAST was driving for what would have been the game WINNING TD and had just moved the ball inside the WOODSTOCK 20 when our receiver fumbled. It was recoved by WOODSTOCK but our “D” held until WOODSTOCK went for it on 4th down and short. EAST loaded the line but WOODSTOCK ran wide and scored a LONG TD to put the game away. In addition EAST was playing for the 2nd week in a row with our backup quarterback. Hopefully or Starter is ready for this friday’s game.
Again…CONGRATS to Woodstock for their WIN. AS far as the unhappy Woodstock fans, we enjoy our facility and the game experience. We realize there is a parking issue and it is a direct result of the recent years success the team has enjoyed. Parking has been added twice but still cannot handle the amount of traffic the games draw. The seating is also being looked into as we realize the need for additional space. But I promise you our visitors section is cleaner, larger and has better concession and restroom facilities than 4 of the other 5A AAAAA schools EAST played at this year!!!
JAYBO you are a trip…you know I DO NOT RUN & HIDE on the BLOG. I was busy this weekend and just did not have time to jump in here before now.
EAST will regroup and travel to MILTON this week for ROUND 1 play…Good luck to Woodstock, Etowah & Harrison in their games also…Let’s show the naysayers how good 5A really is!!!

I don’t know what is wrong with the Hoyas,
I didn’t see the game, but was told the defense didn’t play well again. That they played like they didn’t care. I did see the game against McEachern and I tought they played as though they were tired. Though its hard to tell without the feedback the coach’s should be able to get.
