Stormy weather: Will Friday’s forecast keep you from going to the game?

In the words of the ad for that local barbecue chain, Friday’s football forecast is as follows: It’s gonna be messy, but it’s gonna be good.

With an all-day rain predicted for metro Atlanta Friday, we wonder how many fans (if any) will stay away from this weekend’s big games, including super-rivalries like McEachern-Harrison and Roswell-Milton as well as potential upset specials like McNair-Dunwoody or Stephenson-Union Grove.

Tell us: Are you hunkering down at home instead of heading out to your favorite high school game this Friday? Or are you such a superfan that neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays you from the swift completion of your appointed rounds while looking for that perfect seat in the stands? How do you plan to beat the rain, wind and cold?

I plan on going and weathering the storm. It was rainy and messy last week. It sounds like this may be a colder rain, so i’ll just bring an extra jacket.

IT’S FOOTBALL! High School at that…try sitting in the Vetern’s ok, now the Lincoln Financial Field, Giants or Mile High Stadiums, especially in the month of December. Pray for warmth, then bring a blanket, umbrella, scarf, hat, maybe some gloves and another prayer for the concession stand’s hot coco and enjoy the game!

What person in their right mind reads sports talk and info on high school sports to talk about the most meaningless part of high school football, the band. You don’t know how good Woodstock is all you are doing is setting and waiting for the half time show. I hope it rains and the bands don’t even show up! Let us watch a Dog catching a Frisbee it will be more enjoyable then all the bands I have seen this year!

To Who watches the band……Your football kid will probably work for my band kid one day. By the I do know football.. I have probably forgot more about the game you will ever know. My oldest son is a starter on the freshman team and my oldest boy plays on the 7th grade team. This will probably really upset you, but band kids also recieve a varsity letter……..

You Wish!

Band people get so offended. I am just saying that this year has been the worst bands I have ever seen. Woodstock’s was the best so far. They had the guy telling the story right?

EP – Boring, only thing they do well is “Party like a Rock Star”

Were the showmanship bands that give you something to enjoy.

Yes they do letter but the letter in BAND.

The bad talk above about bands really ticks me off. Why can’t people just realize that the two compliment each other? Up here in Towns County, our band and football team have suffered through some pretty rough years, but now, they are BOTH on the comeback trail and the BEST part is that the head coach and the band director are on the same page and support each other. Just a few weeks back, Coach Langford took the time to come to the bandroom to thank and compliment the band and director, Mr. McKinney. THAT is the way it should work.

And for the record, the band, cheerleaders and tons of fans from Towns County made their way down to Milledgeville last Friday night and sat in a miserable rainstorm to support our guys and I’d do it again this week if I had to, but fortunately, this is our bye week, so I’m planning to stay home and stay dry and enjoy some time with my family. But the next two weeks I’ll be out supporting our team & band & cheerleaders, come RAIN or SHINE.

I’ve heard they are moving some of the games in N.GA to tonight (Thur) because of the rain.

Sounds like the quarterbacks that Pulpwood speaks of.
