3/25 CHS defeats Harrison, 17-10
The Cougars had a major road trip on Tuesday to take on the Harrison Hoyas for one of the few remaining away games this season. The first half belonged to the tough Hooch defensive unit. The girls were able to set up and do a great job of keeping the ball away from freshman goalie Lanie Dinardo, who only needed to make 2 saves during her half tending goal. Sophomore attack Emma Goodnow was effective on the draw for the Hooch and gave the powerful offense the ball when needed. Emma led the first half with 3 goals. Half-time had the Cougars up 7-3.
The late arriving Hooch faithful were still filing in; weary from Cobb County traffic, when the second half began. The Hoyas came out strong, but so did the awesome Hooch offense. The Cougars ran up the score and mid way through the closing frame lead 15-5. The Harrison offense ramped it up and freshman goalie Carli Perleberg was busy during her half in the goal, she had 9 awesome saves. The large Hooch lead proved too much for the home team and the Cougars finished the game on top by a score of 17-10. Junior attack Maddie Fink had another memorable game; she led the Hooch with 6 goals. Eight other Cougars scored during the game, including senior attack Kinsey Travitz.

Northview girls controlled the ball for 21 minutes in the 1st half. Northview’s balanced attack featured goals from #31, #20, #17, #5, #21, #20, #49, #22 and #7. The rare times when Wesleyan’s offense mounted an attack Northview Goalie #4 rose to the occassion and blocked 5 of 6 shots in the first half.
Northview’s next game is 3/31 against Harrison.

Mega-props to Meghan and Northview Girls Lax for taking the awesome initiative to use this forum as a way to help US out by posting THEIR own game stories on ajc.com. GREAT work! We’re always looking for a Few Good Writers. :-)
Seriously, folks - we’re all about YOU being our eyes and ears out there. We can’t get out to every game so we’re asking you to be our ajc.com spring sports field crew. Use the Spring Sports Galleria comments area to write a game story.
Don’t forget about your TEAM PAGES, either! You can post cool photos from the games there and copy the game story you wrote here into the “Comments” area there as well. We built the team pages for you to turn into your own rah-rah “Go Team” area. (But, hey, we can’t help it when the rivals dip in to start the smacktalk; just keep it clean, y’all.)
The Team AJC Sports crew always says: Our readers make the difference. Keep those scores, game stories, photos and news updates coming our way. We thank YOU.

Northview 18 Harrison 8
The Titan girls raised their level of intensity in the second half. Northview held an 8-5 advantage in the 1st half. The Harrison Hoyas came out in the 2nd half and scored 2 quick goals. At that point Northview’s Goalie #4 made a decisive save that led to a Titan score. Northview then went on to outscore Harrison 10-1 the remainder of the game.
Northview has many weapons on offense. Northview’s #1 may be the most talented attacker in the state. Northview’s attack also featured goals from #21, #20, #31, #16, #49 and #22.
Northview’s defense played big in the second half. Defenders #7, #10, #15 and #17 had strong games. The defense thwarted many of Harrison’s charges. When Harrison attack penetrated Northview’s defense, the Goalie #4 was up for the challenge. #4 is a rare blend of size, quickness and power. The unofficial tally of saves was 21. Many of the saves were on direct shots.
Northview’s next game is against conference foe Alpharetta 4/2.

* Northview 22 Alpharetta 9 *
Northview dominated conference foe Alpharetta. In the final 6 minutes of the half, Northview put on a passing and shooting clinic. Northviw routinely fed the ball over the goal into the 8M for a “quick stick” goal. #1 put on an impressive display of shooting. Alpharetta’s Goalie was overmatched by Northview’s firepower.
Northview’s strength is their speed and ball control. #31 is an outstanding player. Northview midfielders are tireless.
Northview honored their senior players - Caitlin kelly, Aubrey Byers and Eleasi Kim, tonight. Each of the players were honored for their outstanding academic achievement.
Northview’s next games are 4/21 Lassiter, 4/22 Rival Chattahoochee and 4/25 Centennial.

Lady Raiders beat up by Northview Girls 22-9
The Lady Raiders had a brutal lose to the Northview Titans with a score of 22-9. The Titans were aggressive, mean and very rough. Many of our girls were injured during this game.
On positive note we welcomed Gabrielle Galon as she moves up to the Varsity team. She is an excellent player and we wish her well.
Top scorer was Elise Haupt with 4 goals, Erika Hogan had 2 goals and one goal each was scored by Liezel Oosthuizen, Brittany Johnson and Juliet Jacobson. Biz Carson once again hung in there to defend our goal space.

Chamblee girls’ golf goes to the state for the first time in a while, maybe since its existence. They are lead by freshman Alexis Johnson who already has her sites on matriculating at the prestigious Hampton University in beautiful Hampton Virginia, “home by the sea”. Where she says by then they’ll be in full swing in building a golf dynasty.
