AJC ranks boys top 10

The 2007 portion of the season has been completed and a lot of the usual suspects are among the elite teams in the state. There were some first-half surprises on the boys’ side — Blessed Trinity, Douglass, Avondale, Dacula and Greater Atlanta Christian. As the second half of the second begins, we offer our all-class rankings. The Georgia Sportswriters Association rankings will be out later this week.

For now, here is the AJC’s all-class boys top 10:

1: Norcross — Hasn’t lost to a Georgia team since last February, and doesn’t appear it will anytime soon.

2: Columbia — Played well in the Arby’s Classic and Travis Leslie might be the most exciting player in the state.

3: Wheeler — Dequan Jones is quickly becoming a player of the year candidate. Wildcats continue to click after losing starting point guard before the season.

4: Westlake — Norcross is only Georgia team to beat them. Oklahoma signee Raymond Willis has really blended with a good returning nucleus.

5: Savannah — Might be the class of the hotbed Savannah area. Seeking first title since 1998.

6: Centennial — Only in-state loss was to powerhouse Wheeler (93-64) early last month. Junior Lorenzo Brown is among best in the state.

7: Miller Grove — The still growing program has one of the state’s best point guards, Mfon Udofia, and Sharman White is a up-and-coming coach.

8: South Atlanta — Junior Derrick Favors finally might have a supporting cast that can get a championship.

9: Marietta — Blue Devils have seemed to recover from two early season losses. A big victory against McEachern on Saturday was impressive.

10: Whitefield Academy — When this team plays to its full potential, it could be in the top five in the state regardless of classification.

Off the court: Beach’s chances of contending took a big blow last week when all-state guard James Fields transferred to nearby Urban Christian, a non-GHSA school. Fields, a Georgia State signee, cited academics reasons for the transfer. At Urban, he will be in the backcourt with Cincinnati signee Cashmere Wright, one of the top point guards in the state.

Milestone: With Randolph-Clay’s 79-73 victory against defending Class A champion Wilkinson County on Dec. 22, Red Devils coach Joe Williams got his 1,000 victory. Randolph-Clay is 15-0.

I think Norcross isn’t nearly as good as Putnam County!!!! I mean come on now just look at the number of draft picks.Im talking about Fred Hargrove, Brandon Hurt, and Jarret Leverett are all going to be top five picks after they complete one year together at Duke University.

Derrick I think Dunwoody deserves to be in the All Class Rankings. Their only in state lost was to undefeated Blessed Trinity their first game of the season by 5 pts. Graham, Singleton, Jordan and supporting cast can flat out play. Only out of state losses are to Nationally ranked Monsignor Pace by 5 pts and Bishop O’Connell by 2 pts. Let me know what you think about the Wildcats.

Randolph-Clay: we held them to 84

Terrell County: have only lost to R-C

Jordan: defending state champs and undefeated.

Westover and Dougherty will make a run of it come tournament time. They always do. Turner County will try the same.

Centennial is way overrated.

I saw Dacula beat them handily during the summer and Dacula was missing two starters.

Wesleyan should be in the top five.

Dacula’s a top 10.

Are we talking about the top 10 recruiting schools in Ga? Well, you got the first three right. Come on,ya’ll. Is it really right that we let these kids move from school to school. what happened to a kid sitting out a year unless he moves. Someone please do a report on that. It’s amazing how the football coach from Mays lost his job because of his background, but these coaches from these school gets a pat on the back. Well, schools I like at BT and Chamblee. NON recruiting schools.

Derrick:

Pretty good list. In fairness, you could change the title to ‘Top 10 in the metro ATL area and would only drop one school from the list. Dunwoody would capably fill that spot.

Challenge us, ask for the top 10 outside the metro area. That would hopefully bring posters from other parts of the state. I’d add my AtomSmashers from Savannah to that list.

Looking for that top 10 girls list also. Since Maya Collins and the young lady from St. Pius are gone, it will be an interesting year.

Hey Derrick Mahone,

What about South Atlanta beating the #4 team in the nation(Lincoln HS, NY) which is the school of Stephon Marbury and Selbastian Telfair. Does that count for anything??? And there ly loss came to the #1 team in the nation St. Benedicts HS (N.J) which South Atlanta has the potential to beat but just choked up that day.

SOUTH ATLANTA IS THE #1 TEAM IN THE STATE

DERRICK MAHONE YOU NEED TO GET OUT MORE BUDDY. 1ST OF ALL LIKE THIS GUY ABOVE ME SAID. THEY BEAT #4 (AT THE TIME) LINCOLN AND THEIR ONLY LOSS IS TO THE #1 TEAM IN THE NATION????!!! IN A GAME WHERE DERRICK FAVORS ONLY PLAYED 22MINS CMON NOW EVERY SCHOOL ABOVE SOUTH ATLANTA HAS LOST TO AVERAGE TEAMS. (EXCEPT FOR SAVANNAH, WHO PLAYS NO ONE) THIS IS WHY WE NEED A TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS IN GA!!!

ONE GOOD THING.. AT LEAST WWW.MAXPREPS.COM HAS IT RIGHT. HERE’S A LINK FROM 1-7-08 THAT SHOWS WHO’S THE BEST TEAM IN THE STATE OF GA.

I can agree with Scoutofthyear, Douglass’s only lost was to South Atl in the APS X-mas Tourney, and at the Rob Barnes summer camp they did beat Centennial. Any team that has more than 3 loses should not be in the All Class Rankings.I would lobby for Dunwoody and then Douglass to be in the top 10. Marietta is suspect at best.

How can you leave out Blessed Trinity when they have won every game this season and beat 2 of your top 10 teams? In addition, against Dunwoody the point difference should have been greater. BT was up by 20 when the officials began to interject themselves in the game. The game wasn’t as close as the score reflected. Marietta was never really in the game.

Great post from all, even Scout of the Year, who wants me fired.

South Atlanta probably could have been moved up a few spots. Not sure if I’m ready to make them No. 1 yet. The Hornets have played a tough and challenge schedule, which does count for a lot in compiling this list, but so have the other teams in front of them. All the teams losses ranked above South Atlanta were to either nationally, regionally or state ranked teams.

On Douglass , they are having an incredible year under Tilford Ellerbee. Douglass has good region wins against Stephenson, Redan and M.L. King, but also have close wins against Mays (by 1) and Carver-Atl. (by 6), which are not exactly top-ranked teams.

On Blessed Trinity, again, another team that is having a great year. They have earlier wins against Marietta (by two) and Dunwoody (by five). Only beat Etowah by two when Marietta beat them by 24. The Titans will be ranked in the Class AAA poll that comes out Thursday, but not sure if they are ready to be in a top 10 all-class poll. Blessed Trinity could run the tables or end the season with no more than two losses. The only challenging games the rest of the way on their schedule is Chamblee (Jan. 22), Marist (Feb. 2) and Dunwoody (Feb. 5).

I put Whitefield in instead of Dunwoody. I still think if Whitefield plays up to their potential, as I wrote above, they are a top five team.

As far as the girls go, Ernest, you are right in that it is definitely going to be interesting, especially in 5A and 4A. Consider, Mays has beaten a very good Douglass team twice (in preseason and regular season) and have lost to Southwest DeKalb. Douglass has beaten Stephenson and Redan. Southwest lost to Stephenson in the DeKalb County championship. Marietta has lost to Wesleyan with almost the entire Blue Devils lineup fouling out. Etowah is learning to play without its starting point guard, who had a season-ending knee injury.

If I had a top 10 girls, it probably look something like this:

  1. Mill Creek
  2. Wesleyan
  3. SW DeKalb
  4. Marietta
  5. Stephenson
  6. Tift County
  7. Etowah
  8. Marist
  9. Beach
  10. Mays

Probably leaving some teams out.

By the way Ernest, you AtomSmashers will be at Centennial on Jan. 21 (M.L. King Day). The two dates to remember for some good basketball competition is Jan. 19 and 21

Jan. 19 at Norcross High 2 p.m. East Hall vs. Whitefield Academy 3:45 Westlake vs. Arlington Country Day (Fla.) 5:30 Johnson-Sav. vs. Our Savior New American 7 p.m. Dunwoody vs. American Christian (PA) 8:30 Norcross vs. Dillard (Fla.)

Jan. 21 at Centennial 1 p.m. Wesleyan vs. Tucker 3 McEachern vs. Columbia 5 Miller Grove vs. Wheeler 7 Marietta vs. Centennial

Jan. 21 at Ben Hill Rec Center noon (girls) W.D. Mohammed vs. Wilkinson Co. 1:30 p.m. (boys) W.D. Mohammed vs. Hawkinsville 3 p.m. (girls) St. Francis vs. Hancock Central 4:30 (boys) St. Francis vs. Hancock Central 6 p.m. (girls) SACA vs. Hawkinsville 7:30 p.m. (boys) SACA vs. Wilkinson County

I would not put much faith in Maxprep for being a reliable poll ranking service. If you compare their ranking to the other five more reputable poll ranking services you will see a big difference in their ranking. I do agree that South Atlanta is probably one of the better teams in Ga however Norcross is much better than Maxprep’s 97 ranking.

Randolph-Clay’s girls are also undefeated. They’re good, but if they get into foul trouble, it might be interesting. They kinda’ only played six of their girls. We weren’t exactly neck-and-neck with them either.

Kendrick’s undefeated again. I see they’re still running up the score like always. Whenever the talent runs out, karma will certainly be interesting.

Columbus might be pretty good, since they played pretty close with Kendrick.

I haven’t seen Tift live. Defensively, their scores look pretty good, but they’re hit over 60 points once.

Derrick:

I’m ‘feeling your love’ for the Lady Panthers of SWD. Believe me, they are worthy and have the ability to run the table this year in AAAA. Being fair and objective, their only two losses have come to Stephenson so I’d probably have to rank them higher. But hey, who says I have to be fair and objective.

Thanks for the heads up about my AtomSmashers in the metro ATL area. If I can get a pass from my wife, I will definitely try to make at least one of those games. I may have to look in the attic for my old letter jacket, assuming the moths haven’t gotten to it yet.

What a surprise! How do you justify leaving Randolph-Clay out of the top ten? Whitefield Academy has no business being there. Guess if you have to be AAAA/AAAAA or from Atlanta area to qualify for the state top ten. Maxpreps.com’s ranking system is a lot more accurate.

By Bill

January 9, 2008 2:42 AM | Link to this

Region 2-AAAAA is stacking up nicely for boys and girls. They will both get at least 1 team to the Final Four again this year. Douglass at 6-0 in region is the frontrunner, but several teams have a shot to go deep in the playoffs, including Newton 4-2(11-3) who beat Redan 3-2 (10-4) by the score of 64-58 Tuesday night and who only lost to #5 ranked Douglass by 4. Stephenson 4-2 who just won at MLKing, hosts Newton on Friday in a key region matchup. Newton’s average size is 6’0 but they keep finding a way to compete with fundamentals and discipline and no illegal recruits. Redan has 3 guys at least 6’7, including major Div. 1 prospect Kenny Hall, but Newton took them out for the 3rd straight time, dating back to last season when Newton beat them to go to state. Region 2-AAAAA doesn’t get much love, despite Derrick Mahone’s ATL roots. Instead teams with illegal recruits get all the props. Give Eddie Martin Newton’s team and we’ll see how good a coach he is.

By Derrick Mahone

January 9, 2008 7:50 AM | Link to this

Ernest hope you get that pass to come out. Again, Johnson-Sav. plays on Saturday (JANUARY 19) at 5:30 p.m. against Our Savior New American out of New York. After you watch your SWD girls against Stephenson at 2:30 p.m. you can hustle up to Norcross for the game.

Bill Didn’t think none of the Region 2-AAAAA boys teams, including Douglass which is 11-1, deserve mention in an all-class top team. Other than beating up on each other, none has really played a top quality team outside its region. Still think at the end, M.L. King will probably win the tournament. Other than a blowout loss to South Atlanta in the championship game of the city tournament, Douglass hasn’t played anybody outside the region. Stephenson has close win over a little above average Chamblee team, but losses to good Miller Grove and an improving Tucker group. Like Adrien Coleman at Stephenson, one of my favorite players to watch. Redan has the height, but they lack the guards. If it wasn’t for Derrick Favors at South Atlanta, Kenny Hall could be the best junior in the area. Hall is a monster. Newton has too many close wins against bad teams - one-point win over AA winless Lamar, 5-point win overr below average Dalton, 5-point win over below average Alcovy, lost to second-year school Hillgrove and a recent loss by 13 to M.L. King. There are some good teams in Region 2-AAAAA, but not great. On the girls side, Stephenson and Douglass could, and probably should be back in the final four. Redan is still about a year away from challenging because of its youth. On a side note, Eddie Martin earned a reputation as a good coach when he took some Brookwood teams to the state tournament each year, including a final four appearance. Good defensive coach, who finally has some talent to work with.

Scout of the year is right. Savannah High hasen’t played any REAL competion. The Atlanta teams with their 6”8 and 6”9 horses will trample over Savannah High’s lame front line. Savannah High beat Johnson and is clearly the best team in Savannah. However they should have gone to play in the Holiday tournaments in Atlanta instead of going to play in Florida where they have a slew of soft teams. They will be lucky to get to the sweet sixteen.

By Marion

January 9, 2008 3:30 PM | Link to this

I saw Savannah High play when I visited family in Savannah over the holidays. THEY AIN’T ALL THAT! Number 44 does nothing for the team and overall their front line is weak as Harold and Scout of the year says. Their is no way they can compete with the front lines in Atlanta when tournament time comes. Are they the best in Savannah and the surrounding area, YES. Will they beat Johnson the other team in Savannah next week that people were high on, YES. My prediction is Savannah High will make the sweet 16 but will go no farther. Johnson will lose in the first round of the reigon. They can’t win big games and you ain’t nothing in Savannah until you beat Savannah High. After they are 13-0. Sorry Earnest but SHS will win the next game with Johnson easily.

By vbakerjr

Several things are wrong with this All-Class Top 10. First of all, South Atlanta hands down is the best team in the state, to include better than Norcross. They’ve got the national competition resume to prove it. Remember, it is still a “team” game, we aren’t talking about who has the team with the highest marquee player (i.e., Norcross). Which then leads to my second point, Blessed Trinity is getting screwed over, but that is fine. They beat Marietta and Dunwoody “in their houses”…and remain undefeated. Make all the unjustified excuses you want, but BT will be a State Finalist and will only be topped by S. Atlanta if that even happens. The Titans are a “team”, scrappy, motivated, well coached and well supported…and without individualistic marquee players who are more interested in getting stats and what D-I College is looking at them…this “team” will continue to play team ball and fly under the Top 10 radar and prove it’s worth at State. Yeah, they had an off game against Etowah, at a neutral site, but a W is still a ‘W’. And oh, by the way, they are a Catholic School who “doesn’t” recruit, which I am sure has brought even more “anti-BT” effect…Go Titans!

Derrick favors knows how good Norcross is because he was very close this summer in transferring to Norcross. He even put Norcross down as his school on this facebook page. I am not sure what changed his mind but he missed an opportunity of his lifetime. Besides being able to keep Derrick Favors at south atlanta and tranfering to Norcross what else have they accomplished in the past few years? look you think your good but your not playin teams that suck isnt helping your situation. south atlanta sucks….addmit it im sorry. the only thing they can handle is their jock straps. i know maybe next year. but hey south Atlanta ill give you A for effort. a little tip of advice. saying your number 1 proves what… and im sure your team doesnt care. you what they care about? they care about the title game. not some national ranking i mean hey its cool but bussiness is bussiness and yoy need to defend your region. and i kno im right because you play South side and booker t comin up and i would hate for yal to have an upset and make u look like a dumb crackhead who doesnt kno anything about sports.

Hey SOTY Here is what Derrick our prognosticator said about your South Atlanta no. 8 team in the state.

“8: South Atlanta — Junior Derrick Favors finally might have a supporting cast that can get a championship.”

SOTY doesn’t anybody believe you? Norcross hasn’t been as low as number 8 in 10 years. Get a grip.

PLZ U SOUND STUPID.. OR YOU MIGHT BE AS DUMB AS DERRICK.. AND YEAH.. THEY’RE FOCUSED OF NATIONAL RANK.. WINNING THE REGION IS GONNA BE A CAKE WALK.. “IM NOT LOOKIN @ YOU, IM LOOKIN PAST YOU”.Sean JZ Carter.

THIS IS WHY GA NEEDS A TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS, SO THAT WAY AFTER SOUTH ATLANTA DESTROYS THE AAA, THEY CAN KNOCK OF COLUMBIA, WHEELER, OR NORCROSS.

We’ll to all of you all……Derrick Favors was NEVER transferring to Norcross…..I repeat NEVER!!! I know him personally…I know where he’s going to college and much more…..all of that stuff is mumbo jumbo. You know you have to tease the press…thats all it is.

And South Atlanta is just glad to be finally getting some love….actually this team is not the best SA team, the 2004 team with Vincent Banks would beat this team unfortunately they loss to Griffin on there worst shooting night of the year missing like 33 3-pointers! But shooting is why that team can beat this team…they could shoot 3’s all day and commentators of the Championship game Steak Shapiro and Beau Bock(spell check) of 790 the Zone both agreed that South Atlanta was the best team in the state including over Wheeler that year(they said that even though SA lost the game).

And the amazing thing about South Atlanta is that kids are TRULY from that hood….and YES that include DERRICK FAVORS! South Atlanta probably couldn’t recruit if they wanted to due to the fact that its in a rough neighborhood. Hopefully Derrick can be a new role model for others in that hood and actually GO TO SCHOOL!!! Coach Reddick is trying his best to get the academics to go hand in hand with the athletics so hopefully he has some success now.

As far as ESPN, SA’s time is coming….you can’t have the best player in the country and not have them get any national exposure. I mean come on South Atlanta is in AAA and Norcross AAAAA so it takes a little more to get recognized in the smaller classifications. South Atlanta will be just like SACA with Dwight Howard when it comes to Derrick Favors….if you could still leap from HS to NBA you would be looking at the next #1 Draft pick from the ATL.

South Atlanta is The BEST TEAM in the state and hopefully they get a chance to meet Norcross, Wheeler, etc, and you all will see! SA has a few more national powers to play this year so that should compensate for the lack of talent they are playing in AAA here in GA.

AS FAR AS SAVANNAH HIGH NOT PLAYING NO BODY , WE NEVER GET THE HAPPY HEAD . TEAMS DRESS UP IN THERE UNIIFORMS THE SAME WAY WE DO . THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IN SAVANNAH OR AT SAVANNAH HIGH IS THAT THEY PLAY WITH WHAT THEY HAVE NOT ,GOING OUT AND RECRUITING PLAYERS .LETS BE REAL ABOUT IT .

Heys guys lets reduce the BS. SA is an excellent team and Derrick Favors is one of the best in the country and he is a Georgia boy. Norcross is a good team and probably not a excellent team yet(season is not over yet we will have to beat Wheeler to become an excellent team). But we have something you don’t- tradition, winning culture and a student body and booster club to support our success. That is why good players transfer here and that is why Derrick wanted to transfer.

Recruiting wins championships. the word recruiting. That’s how you spell Norcross. Take away the paying rent or housing or talking to middle school kids while hosting clinics during the season. Or your boy martin calling players. Yes, I know about that. The coach is a fake. he recruits. Derrick do a story on Norcross recruiting and watch them shut their mouths. Aminu should have played at Stephenson, but was recruited to Norcross. A new car and rent free apartment. Derrick do your job and shut them up. let the real kids at Norcross play and watch them lose every game.

AMEN to that. You can’t be proud of a dirty program. It’s getting out of hand right now. Middle school kids are being recruited. Just look at the top teams in metro ATL and you will see recruitment. Now it’s different if you see a kid matures through your system and become agreat player, but a dirty program and booster club is another thing. Why won’t all these coaches speak out against transfers. If you are a real coach then coach. Take away those 500 victories. Like Barry Bonds put an * by their names. Dunwoody, Columbia, Norcross, etc….

OK, I ACTUALLY AGREE WITH DEVIL LOVER ON SOMETHING, PLZ REDUCE THE BS.. ESPECIALLY DEVIL FAN, YOUR TYPING IS SO HORRIBLE, I GAVE UP AFTER THE 1ST SENTENCE

NOW D.L. WHAT DO U MEAN BY TRADITION??? NORCROSS DOESNT HAVE ANY DAMN TRADITION FOR EXCELLENT BASKETBALL YOU NEED AT LEAST 10YRS OF CONSISTENCY B4 U CAN TALK TRADITION.

EXAMPLE:ST.RAYS H.S. IN BX,NY. <— NOW THATS TRADITION NATIONALLY RANKED SINCE THE 80’s SO SAVE THE TRADITION TALK 4 SOME OF THESE GA PEOPLE THAT THINK 3YRS IS GOOD ENOUGH.

AND YEAH.. THEY MOVED SOUTH ATLANTA DOWN BECAUSE THEY PLAYED BUM ASZ 89-37.I GUESS THEY EXPECTED US TO SCORE 100??

DONT WORRY THEY PLAY BOOKER T WASHINGTON 2MORO IN NORFOLK,VA THAT’LL BE A GOOD WIN.

ONE THING THO DEVIL LOVER.. IF NORCROSS COMES OUT VICTORIOUS IN THE PRIMETIME-SHOOTOUT,I’LL BUY A SHIRT

THEN BURN IT..LOL.

HEY SOTY…I TOOK YOUR ADVICE AND DID MY RESEARCH B4 I SPOKE.

DID YOU KNOW THAT HELEN COX, WHO WAS RANKED 24TH IN THE COUNTRY JUST BEFORE WE BEAT THEM AND THE TEAM WE BEAT BY 11 PTS GOING AWAY, SCORE 16% MORE PTS AGAINST THE NO ONE TEAM IN THE NATION BY SOME POLLS ST BENEDICTS THAN SOUTH ATL. THEY MUST NOT BE AS GOOD AS SOME PEOPLE THINK.

I KNOW WHAT YOU THINKING SINCE DILLARD IS RANKED SO HIGH BY THAT FLAWED POLLING SERVICE MAXPREPARATION X YOU THINK THAT WE DON’T HAVE A CHANCE. WELL TAKE A LOOK AT THE RELIEABLE POLLS AND YOU WILL SEE WHERE NORCROSS IS RANKED HIGHER IN MOST. AND ON HOOPUSA ONE OF THE BEST NORCROSS IS RANKED 10TH AND DILLARD IS IN THE CELLAR WITH SA – HONORABLE MENTION CATERGORY. DO YOUR RESEARCH B4 U SPEAK JUNIOR.

Norcross’s program is a fraud. Where are they getting the money to buy their recruits cars? Stand up Atlanta and make some noise about this. But, we have to be real all schools recruit, but not to the extend of Norcross.

With Earnest being from Savannah he has said said nothing about the success of the Savannah High program. Instead he talks about the Johnson team that has talent but looses all the time. Is he a hater?

I’ve seen Savannah High play too during the holiday season and agree that they are good but will not go far in the tournament because of a weak front line, but I agree with Rob that they play with what they got as appose to Norcross who pays players to attend the school. Savannah High may suprise some people. Should they be ranked as high as they are. No. Scout of the year was right. They need to play some better competion before I can make a decision on them. Those Florida teams are weak and that why Savannah High goes down there. I believe they are scared of the teams in the ATL.

DEVIL LOVER- R U SERIOUS? WHATEVER YOU WERE TRYIN TO EXPLAIN MEANS NOTHIN… BOTTOM LINE.. SOUTH ATLANTA WILL WIN AAA THIS YEAR BUT THAT’S NOT ENOUGH. SOUTH ATLANTA IS READY TO PROVE THEIR THE BEST IN THE STATE-PERIOD! FACE IT, NORCROSS RECRUITS AND SOUTH ATLANTA JUST HAS GREAT TALENT IN THEIR NEIGHBORHOOD. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE A SOUTH ATLANTA SCRAPE NORCROSS BUT I GUESS IT’LL ONLY HAPPEN NEXT YEAR IN A TOURNAMENT OR SOMETHING.HONESTLY THO, THOSE BOYS AT S.A. ARE TOO TOUGH AND PLAY TOO HARD FOR EM. NORCROSS IS A BUNCH OF CHUMPS, AMINU IS GOOD, BUT FAVORS IS BETTER. I CANT WAIT TIL NEXT YEAR S.A. HAS TWO 6’8” N 6’5” FRESHMEN WHO ARE DEVELOPING INTO TREMENDOUS PLAYERS. AND ACTUALLY LIVE IN THE SCHOOL DISTRICT AND OVER THE SUMMER HOPEFULLY BECOMING 6’10 AND 6’7”. SOUTH ATLANTA WILL STAY TOP 10 NATIONALLY NEXT YEAR I CANT SAY IT ENOUGH.. GEORGIA NEEDS A TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS!!!!!!!!!

LET ME SAY IT ANOTHER WAY. HELEN COX, THE TEAM THAT NORCROSS JUST BEAT ON ESPN, SCORED 16% MORE POINTS ON ST BENEDICTS, THE NO.1 TEAM IN THE COUNTRY, THAN SOUTH ATLANTA. THEREFORE LOGIC SUGGEST THAT NORCROSS SHOULD BEAT SA EVENTHOUGH YOU HAVE BEEN PREACHING OTHERWISE. WHAT SAY YOU SARN.

I love this…South Atlanta running their mouths like they are the best in the state when they aren’t even the best in AAA. I go to every Jordan game and know that this team is even better than last years championship team. Jordan can beat anybody in the country, they just don’t get the attention as some teams. South Atlanta would get tired and want to quit in submission after Jordan ran them up and down the court to death. Jordan just never gets tired and on top of that they have 3 stars kind of like the Boston celtics have and have a GREAT supporting cast. The running they do would even make parish island look like a breeze. But I laugh as i read some of the comments on South Atlanta being the best because I know they just don’t have a clue about how good Jordan is…The point guard winford ivey would dribble circles around the defense of any team, he makes great passes, has great D, and can shoot when needed to, he is low to the ground and has incredible speed. Terrance Hill can shoot from anywhere on the court and make anybody look stupid at anytime and also is fast as lightning. Steve Peterson is a 6’3 forward that looks like he has a wing span of 7’0. He can shoot, block shots, rebound, steal passes with his long arms and can just flat out play. Jordan might not play nationally ranked teams but that doesnt mean they wouldnt beat them if they played them because i assure you they can beat anybody. But i mean who are you anyway i mean where were you last year while we dominated the final four and won the championship, wheres your state title last year? Yeah and the last three games we have played we have stepped our game up to a toally diff. level which is really scary. yeah you get on to us for barely beating hardaway EARLY in the year but we just beat the team that that beat them twice already 103-46 because we have stepped our game up for the home stretch of the season. Please win in the playoffs so you can play us because you will then know who we are.

* DEVIL LOVER, THAT WAS THE DUMBEST STAT I’VE EVER HEARD.. 16% AND THIS TEAM DID THIS OR THAT..?? PLZ..I THINK IM OFFICIALLY DONE DEBATING WITH YOU..*

NOW THIS NEW IDIOT * KEVIN G.* UNLESS THAT G-STANDS FOR GARNETT, DONT YOU EVER COMPARE BUM A* JORDAN TO THE CELTICS.

JORDAN IS GARBAGE, THEY PLAY A BUNCH OF BUM TEAMS FROM THE STICKS. WHY TO YOU THINK GASPORTS HAS SOUTH ATLANTA #1 IN AAA, RETARD. 2ND, LOL. YOUR TALKIN ABOUT A 6’3” PLAYER WITH A 7’0” WINGSPAN??? LMFAO.. U SOUND CRAZY..DERRICK FAVORS WILL HAVE 30 AGAINST JORDAN AND NICK WATKINS WILL HAVE 20 AND 10 ASSISTS.

AND JUST SO YOU KNOW, SOUTH ATLANTA PLAYS A 9 MAN ROTATION. SO BEING TIRED IS OUTTA THE QUESTION.. I SEE YOU NEED TO DO SOME RESEARCH ALSO. THEY TRAP AND PLAY MAN TO MAN ALL GAME. JORDAN WILL LOSE BY 25

AND PLZ.. STOP TALKIN ABOUT LAST YEAR SOUNDS DUMB.. WE’RE HALFWAY THRU THIS SEASON..LOL. AND YES.. JORDAN IS THE NATIONAL RANKED.. BECAUSE THE SCRUBS ARENT EVEN TOP 10 IN THE STATE.

SOUTH ATLANTA HAS PLAYED 4 NATIONALLY RANKED TEAMS THIS YEAR. BEAT 3 OF THEM, AND LOST TO THE #1 AT THE TIME IN ST.BENEDICTS. THEY GO PLAY AGAINST THEIR 5TH NATIONALLY RANKED TEAM THIS SATURDAY. AND DID A MENTION, THEY’RE GOING TO PLAY AGAINST NATIONALLY RANKED CAMPBELL HALL FROM CALI @ UCLA WITH #1 GUARD JRUE HOLIDAY.. JORDAN PLAYERS WILL NEVER GET THAT EXPERIENCE B.C. THEY’RE BUMS.. NO ONE WILL PAY FOR THEM TO FLY ANYWHERE,THEY SHOULD BE HONORED TO BE IN THE SAME SENTENCE WITH SOUTH ATLANTA

IF MY NAME WAS WINFORD IVEY I’D DISOWN MY PARENTS AND I JUST LOOKED @ THE SCHEDULE AGAIN….LMAO..JORDAN….LOL.. J IS DEFINITELY FOR JOKE

1more thing go do your research.. * OUT OF THE TOP 20 TEAMS IN THE STATE, MAXPREPS HAS JORDAN #18 WITH THE WEAKEST SCHEDULE AT 7.4..LMAO*.. SOUTH ATLANTA ONLY HAS A 8.8 BUT IT CHANGES A LOT B.C. OF THE TOURNAMENTS THEY’RE IN. ITS BEEN AS HIGH AS 21.2 WHEN THEY WERE IN THE BOJANGLES SHOOT OUT.. SO INSTEAD OF DESTROYING THE BUMS IN THEIR DIVISION, THEY GO DESTROY RANKED TEAMS TOO. YOU SEE WHAT THEY DID TO #4 RANKED LINCOLN WITH LANCE STEPHENSON.

Let me say this, Savannah basketball teams are for real. Savannah high has earned their current #2 rankning in the state. They are un-defeated and has played very strong competition. They will also be playing at #5 ranked Mundy’s Mill next Sat. Also Johnson high could be the best sleeper in the state, they are a high talented team that has played very strong competition. There front court being led by the best big man in the state, Colorado signee Toby Veal, is very strong. I would hate to be OSNA on Jan 19. If you saw the first game then you would know that Johnson should have beat Sav. High but did not get the ball down low. I believe they will win the next meeting. But never the less, some team from the savannah area is going to win the state. I travel alot and watch alot of Georgia basketball. Savannah’s Region is strong and loaded. Savannah High or Johnson will be playing for a state title this year. Just wait and see.
