10 guys who’ll light up the field Friday

The playoffs may be exciting enough for you, but we like shiny objects here at Take Ten. Shake your keys at us, and we’ll be entertained for hours.

So when we look at the playoff brackets to figure out which game to watch Friday, we’re more interested in players than teams.

We want to know which guys will do something amazing. Who’s going to make our heart race with an electrifying kick return? Who’s going to break open for an 80-yard run? Who’s going to nail the quarterback for a big sack?

So in our quest to help ourselves and you, we put together our list of the top 10 most exciting players who will be on the field this weekend. If you don’t have your own team and just want to see some sparks fly, these are the players to watch.

10. Chase Thomas, Walton, DE

Not many of our Super 11 players have lived up to their preseason hype, but he’s one who has. He’s always disruptive in the backfield and is very quick off the line. He is the school’s all-time season and career sack leader.

9. Jonathan Davis, Tucker, RB/LB

He made a name for himself during last year’s playoffs for St. Pius, leading a huge comeback at Thomas County Central and nearly carrying the Lions to an upset over Northside-Warner Robins at the Dome. He hasn’t had to be as dynamic this year on a team full of athletes, but he’s still one of those players you can’t take your eye off at any time on either side of the ball.

8. Michael Tamburo, North Gwinnett, QB

He’s one of the best quarterbacks in the state. He’s accurate and can be a playmaker with his arms or legs with his 4.6 speed. His ability to be a dropback passer or a speed rusher makes him difficult to defend, and he’s the catalyst for an offense that has scored more than 30 points six times this season.

7. Cordellaro Jones, M.L. King, RB

Quarterback Jarad Dorsey is the steadying presence, and Jones is the spark. He ran for more than 1,000 yards during the regular season, and he came up big for the Lions last week with 134 yards and three touchdowns. One of those came on a 65-yard run when he outran the Valdosta secondary. He’s quick and is very difficult to bring down when he gets a head of steam going.

6. Garrett Embry, Roswell, WR

He’s big with excellent hands and runs a sub-4.8 40. If the defense doesn’t double-team him, it’ll get burned. In Week 10, he took a short slant 68 yards through the Milton defense for a touchdown, and those are the types of plays he seems like he’s always about to make. He’s headed to Oregon next year, so catch him now while you have the chance.

5. Billy Burns, Walton, All-Purpose

There’s rarely a game when he doesn’t make some sort of play. His punt return for a touchdown was instrumental in the Raiders’ win over Roswell. He returns kicks, catches passes, whatever the Raiders need to win the game. He’s definitely worth the price of admission.

4. P.J. Williams, Thomas County Central, QB

He’s an option quarterback with excellent speed and ability to avoid tackles. He makes the Yellow Jackets offense tick with what he can do with the ball in his hands. Between him and running back Debrale Smiley, the Jackets’ offense is something to behold.

3. Tijuan Green, Northside-Warner Robins, RB

He ran for more than 100 yards in all but one regular-season game and scored 23 touchdowns, despite often only playing about half the game. He has a powerful 5-11, 190-pound frame with the speed of a smaller back. He already has one state title, and he’s got a good shot at another.

2. Tavarres King, Habersham Central, WR

His thin, wiry frame is nearly perfect for a receiver at this level. He can fly (4.53 40 time) and has some of the best hands of any receiver in the state. He has school records for just about everything, and he’ll be playing at Georgia next year. For now, though, he’s still in high school. He’s the definition of a playmaker.

1. Washaun Ealey, Emanuel County Institute, RB

He already owns Georgia’s single-season record for touchdowns with 49, and he’s still a junior with at least one more game to add to the number. His 4.32 40 time is incredible, and he uses that speed to his advantage. He can outrun just about anyone in the open field, and he is as elusive as they come. If you can get out to see him play, do it.

Go on. Take Ten. So who did we miss? Who do you like to check out when you get the chance? And is there something we didn’t mention about these guys that gets your heart racing? Let us know who your shiny object is.

How can you put P.J Willams at #4 and not have Debrale Smiley on the list at all? He has more td’s than Green at #3 and is the horse that makes the TCC attack go. He may not be deserving of #1 but you could at least make him 4a and Williams 4b.

What about North Hall? Their offense and defense is absolutely incredible. Somebody from this team should be on the list. Their offense almost set the state scoring record this year, and could have done so easily. Many times late in games they took a knee on the 5 yard line. They averaged over 50 points a game this year on offense and allowed 7 points a game on defense. How come I never hear anything about them?

You’ll be catching a lot of heat from Thomas County Central fans. I can’t believe you didn’t list Debrale Smiley in your top 10, probably one of the top 3 backs in the state if not the best. 6ft, 220lbs, runs a 4.4-4.5 forty. Broke TCCHS all time touchdown record. Reminds you a lot of Hershel Walker.

TCC’s back feild is the best in the state. Offense line has to be in the top 3 in the state. Debrale Smiley aka the night train is the best back in the state. PJ is very dangerous also. Don’t forget about #20 Rauls TCC’s other running back, he is very fast 4.4 in the 40 and runs hard. This years TCC team if they play to their A game the next 3 games they will win state this year.

I’m not an ECI fan - if fact, I can’t stand those bumpkins - but I went to see Ealy and the Bulldogs play Seminole County in the first round of the Class A playoffs. And, let me tell you, this kid is the real deal.

According to one newspaper, Ealy’s listed at 5-foot-11 and 205 pounds, and those numbers look legit. I stood by the gate where ECI entered the field, and when Ealy walked by, we were eyeball-to-eyeball, and I’m 6 feet tall.

The fact that he plays at a small school does not diminish his impact or his talent.

Remember, George Rogers, Herschel Walker, Garrison Hearst, Champ Bailey, and Charles Grant played at small schools, too.

Yeah, I certainly could have put Smiley on the list, but I like Williams and didn’t want two guys from the same backfield on here. It’s reasonable to say Smiley could be on here, though.

RHS-

I was going by the only 40 time I could find for Embry. I wouldn’t be surprised to learn you’re right about it being in the 4.5 area. That kid can fly. I was really impressed when I saw him a few weeks ago.

I know people will debate these lists all day (that IS the point, right?), but you have GOT to see Greg Reid play in person. And you also have to understand what the college scouts understand about Greg and ANY Lowndes player: they have so many good backs that are rotated in and out that the stats don’t spotlight any one player. Don’t take our word for it, just watch him.

I would like to question the 40 time of Tavarres King at Habersham Central. I read that he has been clocked many times between 4.3 and 4.4. To add to him though I believe he is only a few receiving yards from breaking the single season record for the state of Georgia. He is a gamemaker and a gamebreaker. Can blow past DB’s and make amazing catches.

By Jeff Haws

Viking-

I’d love to see Greg play in person, but I’ll be about 50 miles down the road in Thomasville on Friday. Tell ya what … if you guys make it to the Dome, I’ll make it a point to check Lowndes out whether I’m covering the game or not. I knew he was a player, but maybe he’s better than I thought, based on the comments.

Eric-

Personally, I question all 40 times, but they are what they are. I don’t really have any way of confirming them, so they’re about as good a tool as I have to illustrate someone’s speed. Whether they’re legit or whether they actually translate to the field or not, it’s tough to say.

Jeff Haws I hate to say it like this, but you are a joke sports writer. I know that is a little strong, but your credibility is gone down the drain now. How can you not have Debrale Smiley on the list when he has rushed for over 1600 yds and scored over 30 touchdowns—have you lost your mind? This kid can takeover and dominate a game at will. He is a threat to score everytime he touches the football. Your entire list is shot because Smiley is not on there. That’s why your are receiving numerous complaints from people about this blatant oversight. Do your homework sir before you put together a list like this again!!!

Before the Walton - Harrison game I thought the team speed of Harrison’s defense would overwhelm Billy Burns. Well, I stand corrected as he made many outstanding runs. The boy can motor while staying under control. I never thought I would say this but good luck to Walton this weekend and beyond.

how is billy burns fourth? he does everything for the raider offense. an example is when j.j jackson came out of the game for a break, burns took a handoff and broke four tackles for a score. he also caught a touchdown against kennesaw moutnain to win when he jumped over the defender, pulled it away fro the defender and held onto it. he’s a amazing player. he also runs a 4.38, six tenths of a second more than the 1 guy

I’ve seen both Smiley and Williams play. Both are very good, as I mentioned during the course of the list. But my feeling was that Williams better fit the mold of an “exciting” player, and I didn’t want to have two guys from the same backfield on the list. You’re certainly welcome to disagree, as is anyone else. We like to see a diversity of opinions here at Take Ten.

Thad Williams of Cook High has 513 all purpose yards through 2 games in the playoffs. 364 of those yards are rushing yards. He’s also got a pick and several tackles to go along with the yards.

The stink about Smiley not being on the list stems from the fact that the exalted North Geotgians think very little of us down South which is actually O.K with me, but the obvious respect we should get isn’t there, after all S.G. football has dominated the state since before I was born and I see Debrale play every week. I f he goes to a school besides UGA we will regret it for at least four years.

You mean to tell me that there are 10 players more exciting than GREG REID!Ok I understand you haven’t seen Mr.Reid play. The guy plays full time cornerback, running back, and kick offs ,punt returns he not only plays both ways he makes game changing plays.I don’t like Lowndes,I even told everyone that Reid not coming off the field will hurt them.Roswell does not know what they are about to see. They put that number 1 at cornerback against Tift County last year to shut down #11 for Tift County last year and he did.You cannot game plan for Mr.Reid.Dayum I hate to ride anyones jock ,but if you haven’t seen GREG REID play in person,!I saw Richardson play in person with Lee County and he is similar, but Reid does it the whole game

Let me be more to the point, Garrett Embry will know why Greg Reid should be on this list after Friday night. Besides the fact he may be Lowndes best running back when in the backfield, 8 interceptions last year as a sophomore all state defensive back. I believe 3 picks last week alone. Not to mention around a 50 yard reception as a receiver last week that was a thing of beauty. Not to mention the rushing yards as a running back when in the backfield. Not to mention Lowndes sometimes lines him up in the Tebo formation and direct snaps to him in which he occasionally throws from this formation and almost always completes the pass. He is still only a junior. Not to mention, oh well that should be enough.

By yo

November 28, 2007 9:02 PM | Link to this

ktmoney…Jerry Rice sometimes beat Deion Sanders also. I think the fact that Lowndes had a sophomore db covering a very big and strong senior wr from Tift about to sign with the Bulldogs pretty much says it. Even Deion got beat sometimes.

By jaybo

Jeff, I think the best way to light up a football field is by scoring touchdowns. I know that making tackles, interceptions and throwing the is exciting too, but nothing is more exciting than seeing a playmaker with the ball in his hands doing his thing-scoring touchdowns. To that end, Smiley is better than PJ and most others in the state!

There’s certainly an argument to be made for that, my friend. I like Williams’ versatility as a runner/passer/coordinator of the offense. But Smiley is obviously one of the best backs in the state, and he’ll probably be an excellent college back as well. I chose Williams; somebody else probably would have chosen Smiley. Had I not wanted to keep two backfield mates off the list for variety’s sake, I would have chosen both.

jeff, as a TCC alumnus, i understand what your reasoning about putting P.J. instead of the D-train on your list. PJ is the lightening bolt & D-train is the thunder. I hope you are coming to Thomas County (not Thomasville, TCC is just outside the city limits of Thomasville and 95% of the student come from the rest of the county, not T-ville) to see TCC, not T-ville. You will get to see the lightening & thunder in person.

Two guys that should definitely be considered on this list:

Charlton County’s Ralph Bolden—RB. Here is a clip of one of his runs…amazing! text to be linked

Buford’s Cody Getz—RB/PR. He is small, but the most entertaining kid I have seen play all year long with his small stature, super quickness, and nifty moves.

Jeff Haws: I agree with your point of view. PJ is a very dangerous QB. Who do you think will win State in AAAA? To East 4 Ever: you are funny. Wait till big #99 for TCC gets a hold of EP’s QB. Since you brought up size #99 Big Amp is 6ft 4in 320lbs.

By Jawjadude

November 28, 2007 11:40 PM | Link to this

yeah it sure as heck wasn’t North Gwinnett that knocked Tift out of the state playoffs. beat a south GA school and then you can say something. Mikey and his boys still have bruises from last year just ask them. North Gwinnett wouldn’t have won 1-AAAA this year (TCC is that good), much less 1-AAAAA.

(funny that you are trying to take credit for Tift not being in the playoffs since it was the southern most team in the state that did knock them out. but just ask Camden if Tift can play. that idiot that Tifton has for a sportswriter said Camden only gained 90 yards rushing on Tift, that’s after averaging like 350)

and to prove I am a big man, TCC would have won 1-AAAAA this year that’s the reason Smiley and Williams should both be on any list of exciting players. and until you see and/or know everyone does it make much sense to do a list like this, Greg Reid don’t get hyped because he is south GA pure and simple.

By Jeff Haws

November 28, 2007 11:47 PM | Link to this

south ga boy-

Yeah, that was sort of my line of thinking. I could see another point of view, but that’s mine. And I actually will be down the road at Thomasville, not TCC. Kurt Aschermann will be at the Nest, and I told him to get himself set up at that hotel right across the street from the stadium. We’ll see if he gets a room there.

TCC Fan-

I think it’ll be TCC-Northside, and the home team will win. It should be an excellent final, unless something surprising happens between now and then and someone else slips in. The thing is, Northside’s defense is so good that it’s gonna be tough to beat them, but I think TCC might have the horses to do it. If Northside still had their QB, I’d pick them to win.

As far as Tucker goes, I just don’t think they can score the points to get it done. If they get by Bainbridge, which I don’t think is a given, they might as well just play sudden death with Northside. I think NWR wins that one 10-0 or something like that.

After that, both NWR’s and TCC’s home fields are such big advantages for each team that I think that is the X-factor. Whoever wins the coin flip wins the game.

I think it is a shame that Debrale Smiley is not on this list. For pure size and speed, nobody comes close in the state of Georgia. He is the best running back I have seen since 1997 Joe Burnes who played at Georgia Tech and then went on to play in the NFL. Joe had the moves but Smiley has raw power and speed!! I have been amazed at how he has ran away from those speedy DB’s. He can lower his shoulder and run through an opponent or siff arm a defender and run away. I hate to think how good this guy will be in 4 years! I hope UGA will see the light and invest in his future!!

Jeff,

Another name that I forgot to mention to you was A.G. Middlebrooks of Lincoln County. I saw him against Landmark Christian in the first round of the playoffs. He is the nephew of former LIncoln County, UGA and NFL standout Garrison Hearst. The apple didn’t fall too far from the tree as skills. He is talented and just a sophomore.

Carver-Atlanta has some talented skill players that could have been considered for the list. I really like senior linebacker Arsenio Clemmons, he makes plays all over the field.

Interested in seeing Chamblee and junior running back Warren Norman play tomorrow at North DeKalb Stadium.

I think that it is a shame that Alfonso Dennard is not mentioned on this list. He is one of the top 40 recruits in the country for defensive backs. He plays for the Wilcox County Patriots out of Rochelle, GA. A.G. Middlebrooks of Lincoln Co. will be shut down on Friday night in Rochelle when he meets that stingy defense of the Patriots. Lorenzo Dennard is the twin brother of Alfonso and he is our QB and equally as good as his brother and highly recruited. Deauteay Legrier will definitely be head hunting A.G. Middlebrooks who is our linebacker and headed to the University of Arkansas. Look out Lincoln County!!!!!

everybody in the state of georgia is allowing one of best pocket passers/ playmakers in the state to escape this debate……Jarad Dorsey of MLK is one the most prolific quarterbacks to step foot on the field in dekalb county history. stats dont show it being said that he only has 1600 yards and 16 tds but with jones in the backfield and mckayhan on the edge thats what dorsey needed and has reached his full potential and is a force to be recon with. in this past weekends game against valdosta he made completion after completion on third downs and made a couple of big plays that were called back on nonexistent holding calls. he a quincy carter type quarterback who has poise, confidence in the pocket,a strong arm and accuracy. he has all the tools to become a great division 1 quarterback. he is the george washington, the martin luther king, jr., the malcolm x, the robert lee ( read up on your history if you dont know who they are) of this MLK team which is destined to become the first dekalb county school to win a football championship since the 1995 SWD panthers with Quincy carter at qb. hint hint. its there time and they will overcome todd holcombs bs predictions and rankings, the hating critics, and prosper above the rest…….MLK is on the map and will stay KING of georgia football.

NSWR Green is the best in the state. Each week he runs over the other team defense. If and when they shut him down. He justs finds another way to score. See if you can catch him even when he is injured. Green along with the rest of the team will reach the state title again this year. GO NSWR EAGLES WE ARE BEHIND YOU ALL THE WAY TO THE TITLE.

Apparently there are a lot of good players in the state of GA this year, but all anyone has to do if they truly want to know how good GREG REID is, they can ask ANY class 1-AAAAA coach, or the coach from ANY of Lowndes opponents. He IS THE REAL DEAL. Physically bigger that Warick Dunn but not as fast as Deon Sanders. But close to them in ability at comparable ages. Last year as a sopohomore in the very first game of the year he took a pitchout for a long touchdown against Harrison up at Kennesaw Mountain. We knew right then he was the REAL DEAL (even though the TD was called back by a holding penalty.) This year he has a 99 yd TD on a kickoff return, long unbelieveable punt returns, interceptions, td pass receptions, rushing td’s, has made numerous jarring bonecrushing tackles, and is a fairly accurate passer. Hopefully Roswell will get to see him at his best. But if they concentreate on him, no.11 and no. 28 will eat’em alive in rushing yardage.

How could you omit Perry’s Casey Hayward? The kid has over 1000 yds rushing, over 1000 yds passing, and several interceptions in spot duty on defense. He is 6’2” with a 4.5 40. He is also being recruited by SEC schools. Just ask any LaGrange or Peach County fan about this kid!

I think it is so crazy that Greg Reid or Darrett Perry were not mentioned. They have talent that is unreal and are going to lead the Vikings to a state championship. They have skills that cannot be taught and if you haven’t seen them play you really need to check them out!

To all the Lowndes fans who’ve posted:

I’ve never seen Greg Reid play but, given his starting role for LHS, I’d assume he’s “right good.” But while you pulling for your Vikes this Friday, also take a look at #4, Alex Daniel for Roswell.

I’ve never seen a RB cause more defensive players to “lose their jockstraps” than this kid. I don’t know what his “40 time” is but he has the quickest feet around and sees the “hole” really well. Tough-as-nails when he hits you, too, but a bit undersized so he hasn’t popped up on many D-1 radars. I think that will be somebody’s loss.

Best wishes to both Roswell and Lowndes on Friday. I do belive it will be a good show.

Superman I feel you about Debrale and Greg but to say the entire list is a joke is stretching it a bit. I follow class A football and I am a Wilcox County Patriot fan. Washaun Ealy (Emanual County Institute) is right where he needs to be at No. 1 because this kid had over 2000 yards for the season (10 games) and 49 touchdowns. I think that is awesome and he’s just a junior. I hope to meet him in the state championship game. Keep following the class A bracket.

Hi Jeff,

First off, TCC, we were beat by 16+ players on the field last year at your segregated house of Tigers. Players 12 thru 16 were dressed like Zebras. Go watch another basketball game….thats all you been doing for a couple of weeks anyway, isn’t it time for you to hybernate?

Now , on to Jeff, you missed one dawg, Eric Eberhardt. DE that has seen more double and triple team blocks than any end in the county. This kid will go D1, and will be in that David Pollack type of kid that gets after it. Ask Newnan how they gonna block that and leave one of our LB’s wide open for a kill shot. Go ahead, ask Brookwood how they did it.

When Buford plays up a classification or two…….they can boast about players but not with that schedule. Any Gwinnett county school can run a ball 100 plus yards versus our opponents in AA.

I agree Smiley should be on this list but, PJ Wiliiams is the grease that makes the Veer run smoothly and consistantly. Every play he has to read the defensive scheme, sometimes change the play and in a matter of seconds read what the LB, End and cornerbacks are doing on the play. This determines who will get the ball. That’s just my opinion… Both young men are very deserving. God Bless

Finally some well earned respect! 2 Walton players in the top 10! Anyone that knows the team could argue for JJ Jackson as well, over 1700 yards, 5.9 per carry avg. with 21 TD’s (he caught a couple also). Or our awesome Kicker Adam Shriner, AJC Player of week, 58 yd FG, almost 50% of kickoffs are touchbacks! GO RAIDERS!

Want to see “sparks fly” this Friday, pay attention to the Offensive and Defensive line play of the M.L. King Lions; best kept secret in GA folks. I was really impressed with how they overwhelmed Valdosta last week.

Go Lions!!!!!

PS….Good luck to Tucker and Carver-Atlanta, expect to see you in the GA Dome next week.

Gaboy I respect the fact that AG Middlebrooks comes from a good pedigree of talent but Wilcox has too much speed and power. Alfonso Dennard in the first round of playoffs against Chatt. Co(Cusseta) intercepted a pass and ran it back 52 yards and those 52 yards put him over 6,000 for his career. He is indeed a all-purpose athlete. His nephew #4 Antonio Marshall has 1000 yards for the season and he is just a sophmore too. They are indeed a triple threat to any team (Dennard boys and their brother’s son #4 Antonio Marshall)… Buy you some popcorn and enjoy the show…

You might want to rewrite the Jonathan Davis paragraph. He doesn’t play for St. Pius and they aren’t in the playoffs either. Tucker didn’t make the playoffs last year so I’m not real sure what they are talking about here.

Jeff Haws get real dude.I hope you’re not jumping on this TCC,D-Train band Wagon…..You and these TCC fans need to wake up and smell the lack of defense….Haws, how can you even consider the deciding factor as home field advantage if a NSWR/TCC matchup should occur….We would shred that defense to pieces….TCC’s defense has given up 61 points in the last three games ,NSWR has only given up only 7 in the last 3 and 68 points all season and Tucker only given up 18 in the last 3 and 46 all season….These are defenses that make up a championship team….And most of these TCC fans know i speak the truth,i’ve seen all the excuses for Whitewater scoring 21 points in the second half….”Our J.V was in”…..We thought we had them pretty much beat”……”We fumbled two times”……….”They scored in the last 5 minutes of the game”…..”The first team were getting their nails done”….”D-Train was out”.This is the playoffs a real defense won’t sleep in the second half or give up 21 points…You give NSWR 21 points in any half and its over ,……No doubt the D-Train is the real deal, but Haws i am glad you let these TCC folks know that there are other impact players around the state.

Debrale Smiley (D-Train) is by the far the best back that has come through TCC since Joe Burns…matter of fact, he’s broken his records. I’m puzzled as to how two kids from Walton (i’ve seen them this year) made the list and only 3 kids south of Atl made the list. I guess there really is no love for S Ga football. And I live in Atl.

Just wondering if you are jealous or just uninformed.

Y’all could not handle Buford for at least the past two years, and even after you had Caleb King (oh yeah, thats right…Buford shut him DOWN last year).

Come to the reality that no matter what classification they play, Cody Getz IS the real deal. And, you will see what that is all about next year.

And, by the way, Getz has not had a 100 yard rushing game this year. Buford has not had to keep its starters in the game much past the third quarter this year. And, he is running behind a South Florida signee named Demetrius Murray.

This is what I pulled off the Cordele Dispatch in regards to Wilcox Patriot Alfonso Dennard…

Wilcox High wide receiver Alfonzo Dennard has been chosen as a participant for the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association all-star game to be played Dec. 29 at 2 p.m. in Columbus.

Dennard, who is one of just a few players from a Class A school chosen to play in the game, is the first Patriot to be so honored in several years.

He will be a member of the South team that will be led by Camden County head coach Jeff Herron.

This kid is goooood!!!!

Gene:

Not exactly sure what you did not understand about Jonathan Davis. Put some key words in uppercase and bold that might help.

Well, its looks like the GHSA Classification Committee went ahead and kept the teams in R3 that requested to play up. For them to keep Camden in this region is a slap in our face. What do we have to do to get their attention and let them know that we would like to be in a region that’s competative? Don’t get wrong, I have nothing against the other schools in the region, but history show that when it comes to football they definitely don’t belong in AAAAA. GHSA, do the right thing, reconvene your committee and right this wrong before the start of next season.

Thank you Blake from below.

When you’re looking for Big Play Makers, you need to look at North Hall High School in Gainesville, GA. Below is a quick excerpt from an article on the web site, Accessnorthga.com after last Friday night’s win at the Brickyard. It’s talking about Senior, Hunter Wolf and the again amazing night he had for the Trojans. Read on…

“With his team locked in a scoreless duel at halftime, North Hall senior Hunter Wolf decided to take matters into his own hands Friday night against Sandy Creek in the second round of the Class AAA football playoffs.

Wolf recovered a fumble on the first play of the second half, finished off the drive with a 2-yard touchdown run, added a 50-yard kickoff return to set up another touchdown, and then returned a fumble for a score to lead the Trojans to a 21-7 win at The Brickyard.

Wolf then perhaps sealed the win for North Hall intercepting a pass in the end zone to snuff out a Sandy Creek scoring chance.”

The aforementioned “fumble” was actually Hunter stripping the ball from the Sandy Creek player’s hands and running it in more than 20 yards for a touchdown. Yes, he plays OFFENSE and DEFENSE, rarely leaving the field in a night. And an equally cool note.. He has a twin brother who is just as good!

Hunter and Dylon, along with Bobby Epps, Jackson Griffeth and all the Trojan players this year, have given North Hall High School something to remember: 12-0 (so far), winning ten games by 40 points or more, setting the school’s scoring record for a single game and amassing more records than can be mentioned here. And all that done with the JV team on the field for half the game most nights! Big Playmakers? Take a look up the road to Gainesville, North Hall High School’s got ‘em!

Take it to the Dome Trojans!

(For more on the North Hall Trojans check out the above-mentioned site as well as gainesvilletimes.com)

TCC - The Veer? Why didn’t you tell us you had Eric Dickerson and Craig James in the backfield before we ordered the buses? Long bus ride to see you veer your way to 400 yards and 45 points in the first half. At least you didn’t get moved to AAAAA so next year we’ll just have to worry about Harrison and Kennesaw Mountain. Well yall sure missed the games of the year! A.G. Middlesbrooks, the sophmore RB for Lincoln Co slaughtered my Wilcox Co Patriots the first quarter of the game 21-0. The end of the first quarter was 24-6. The next 29 minutes of the game those Dennard boys and Deauntay Legrier went nuts onthe field. One play Legrier had 5 Red Devils dragging them down the field for at least 20 yards. You had to see it to believe it. You can read it in the Cordele dispatch.com Our guys were amazing in one of the biggest comebacks against a perennial championship team such as Lincoln Co. Awesome performance and they did it with Championship Character. See you in the Dome Athens Academy…..

JT I am sorry but It’s not just Ealey thats unstoppable. First, you have to penetrate an offensive line that averages 6-2.35 inches, 286.5 pounds, then grab a 5-11, 208 pound running back with 4.3 speed that bench presses 345 and squats 475. this team averages 296 yards rushing per game along with 42 points per game. this guy averages 200 of these yards per game himself. He has 55 Touchdowns now. Just touch and a deserving number 1.
