North Gwinnett will beat Peachtree Ridge and Norcross will win the region by beating North Gwinnett the last game of the regular season.

Why didn’t you list the AAA team?

If Cass can get past Carrolton this week, will the AJC FINALLY start giving them their due?

After all, they KILLED CARTERSVILLE Friday night. And Cartersville typically isn’t a team to scoff at!

Can we give some love to Harrison’s powerhouse since North Cobb ump’s cheated them? They have a triple threat offense as well, with Robbie Godhigh, Jamal Austin and Alphonso Griffin. Jamal Austin and Robbie can truly be offensive player’s of the year, but Jamal is the Senior who has consistently post numbers throughout the years of playing for HHS.

And why not North Cobb as they are undefeated on paper. Do you think they aren’t good enough?

Really? Do you think P’tree Ridge will flat line after what they did to Norcross? Really? Do you think they won’t game plan for North base on North tendencies like the Alabama team that demolished them, really? Pipe dream away, Peachtree Ridge wins the region and add 2007 under the fieldhouse label “Region” champs!

Devil lover, you said Norcross would beat Peachtree Ridge and they didn’t so we will just have to wait and see what happens on Oct 12.

Patty … These awards are for Gwinnett County only, so no slight was intended for your Bulldoggs. By the way, why is it spelled that way?

Jeff, Momma … Mid-season awards for Gwinnett County. I guess I should have specified.

For real though … I agree w/ Devil Lover. North beats Ridge and Cross beats North for title.

Mill Creek fan … Russ is having a great year, but I’d have to put Jupiter from Berkmar in front of him.

Okay, time will tell the story, it’s always accurate, unlike our predictions. I like Berkmar to be the surprise team in winning region 8 also. TJ is doing his thing with the casting crew surrounding him.

You guys are under ranking Brookwood by alot…

We lost to the number 1 ranked team at the time because of 1 missed field goal, and we lost to the number 7 team by a couple miscues on the kicking teams again… Then we pounded Valdosta, and pounded Shiloh. Brookwoods stronger than even last year. We’ll at least make it to the semis this year. Grayson is the only team that can give us a run for our money in region… and thats not saying much.

Its a wonder when a team is doing extremely well they deserve all the publicity but whatever happened to acknowledging the Wildcats. As an alumni, watching each game is just part of being a supportive alumni. Coach Gillespie has a whole new coaching staff but who are they? What the heck are they doing to these boys. Are these coaches playing for themselves or what? Not a thing is being mentioned about these players good or bad but they do have some good players why are they not being acknowledged? Last year they suffered through the whole season but their was a handful of good players which were acknowledged through out the season so far nothing is being said. Has the Wildcats decided to crawl under a rock in hopes that no one would notice?

AJC never gives credit to teams in the NE, Its about useless to even read these articles. Its always 4, and 5aaaaa, There is just as many or more good players in AAA

Davip P, I agree with you. Jupiter is having a good year. But he is also a snior. Russ is a junior.

Notice the title of the article GWINNETT Mid season Awards.

DP, I agree with your awards especially Kenny Miles as Offensive Player of the Half-Year. He is so much fun to watch! He has this ability to shake tackles and what he did to Valdosta the so called “Friday Night Lights” #1 team according to that other blog was just sad. That game was also a big upset like the South-Parkview shocker.

For Coach I think that Coach Crews from Brookwood deserves an honorable mention. Everbody thought this would be a throw-away season, but he has held the team together.

Who is your pick for AAA???
