Lowndes whipping of #2 Coffee wasn’t that big of deal. Coffee was no way the number 2 in the state to begin with. How can a team play a schedule of lower classifcation schools and be ranked that high? Lowndes proved they were paper tigers.

I expect to see North Cobb move up to #2 or #3. With a 5-0 record and to runaway games with no more than 12 pts scored against their defense; North Cobb is looking pretty good to go 10-0.

ML King is 5-0 with the offense @ 40 pts per game, defense allowing only 10 pts per game. However Stephenson should be #1 until Oct 12th.

North Cobb has a great chance to become the new #1. Not only did they beat Harrison, who is also a top 10 team, but the have destroyed every other team they have played. Plus they play in arguably the toughest division in the state. The rest of 5-A better watch out for this team. Calvin Middleton is a beast in the backfield and Matt Roark is a Pat White type player. I see them going undefeated and playing for the state championship this year.

Coffee did have an off night at Lowndes. Coffee has stepped up and played some teams like MADISON FL that Lowndes won’t play. I also would like to mention the HOME COOKIN’ from the refs. This is what makes 1AAAAA the best subregion in the nation. See you in the playoffs.

With a 5-0 record, 40+ points on the board in 4 out of 5 games, opponents that have not scored more than 10 points a game, M.L. King is has proven that they are not only the Lions, but real beasts on the playing field in AAAAA. This team has an awesome defense and a group of offensive linemen who are roaring to be No. 1. Douglas and Stephenson just may be in some serious trouble this year.

The jags are averaging 30 pts per game and only giving up a measley TWO points per game. Stephenson has finally earned it. Give them the #1 spot. I’m sure Oct 12 will confirm it.

Trojan of 73 if anyone cares Coffee did have an off night and it will continue to ba an off night every time they step on the field with Lowndes. As for the refs, Coffee’s undisciplined offensive line moved before the ball was snapped on just about every paly and the refs ignored half of the illegal procedures. I’m sure Lowndes would have no problem with Madison FL 1-AAAAA is a region not a sub-region. Oh yeah the loss to Harrison was a fluke. Lowndes would destroy them now, maybe we will get another chance.

The only teams Stephenson have lost to are Brookwood, Lowndes, Camden County, Valdosta, Peachtree Ridge, Collin Hills, Douglas - Atlanta, and McEachern. These loses happen over seven year period and most in the state playoff. Stephenson has won some great game in that same time period. The teams are Parkview, Roswell, Harrison, Tift, Coffee, Newnan, and North Gwinnette. Stephenson is the best program in the state without a state championship. When did North Cobb beat a quality team or make the playoff in the last three years?

At the end of the season and the play offs it still will be a gwinnett that will win it all in 5aaaa. The best coaches and talent is in Gwinnett. See every one in the 5AAAAA Finals at a Gwinnett School.

I don’t know who the top team in AAAAA is. What I do know is that there are at least 4 teams in AAAA that are ranked higher than any of the AAAAA teams and 3 of them are in one Sub Region—4B-AAAA, Northside of Warner Robins, Westside of Macon, and Baldwin County. Even USAToday agrees with this. It is a pity they have to play each other during the regular season.

I am sorry ,but Coffee was ranked way too high from what I saw on Friday night. As for the Vikes, they remind me of the 2005 Vikings that took the Broncos to the wood shed when everyone said they didn’t have a chance. There are several seniors on that team that would like to have that third ring on their finger. Watch out for the Plowboys.

everyone needs to watch out for north cobb high school. In the past three years we have went from 2-8 in 05’ then 8-2 in 06’ now in 07’ we are going undefeated.Coach queen is taking this team to new hights. We have beatin some of the hardest teams in the state and we shall contuie to win. North Cobb is a very devoted and hard working team. They have a drive like no other. Everyone watch out for NCHS, Because they are the next number 1 team.

I agree that Stephenson has very good teams every year, but the three times I’ve seen them play they seem to self destruct at the worst of times. They always have a strong defense year in and year out, but as I said, it seems that at crunch time they miss the mark. Any input on why they can be so tough through out the year and fizzle at the end?

North Cobb will probably get ranked #2 this week. This is the highest they have been ranked in a long time. With the continued turn arond job by Coach Queen and the players hard work they have a chance to complete thier regular season with a 10-0 record. Last year they had the BIG TWO, ROARK and MIDDELTON. This year they have added 3 other weapons; WRs MACK and EMERSON. But the real addition to thier team has been a very fast defense. A team with the potential to run up 35 pts a game and give up 13 or less per game then you have the potential to damage a lot of the polls. Good luck to the Warriors taking the 2nd half of thier season to the next level. GO WARRIORS!!!

There was home cooking with the refs as far as the calls were concerned in the Coffee-Lowndes Co. game, but Coffee was not prepared for this game which was the fault of their coaches. Also they need to forget about running the ball up the middle all he time…hasn’t worked since the Madison Co. Fl. game…In addition, we need to play more competitive teams before our region games, so the A.D. at Coffee needs to get to work on this. Maybe this embarassing performance will get our coaches and players focused on the next game and be a wake up call.

Congratulaions Stephenson. In regards to Coffee and Harrison (ignore the scores), Coffee is a better football team than Harrison. Even though Lowndes drilled Coffee Friday night, Coffee will be in the semifinals come play off time (a prediction from a Lowndes fan) and Harrison will not. Regarding playing Lowndes in the playoffs again Harrison you should be careful what you wish for as your nightmare could come true. Harrison won against Lowndes on a night Lowndes played the worst game I have ever seen them play in all my years of watching them. The only reason Lowndes was still in the game with Harrison is that it was clear Lowndes was a much more athletic and physical team than Harrison (and so is Coffee). Trust me big time on that one. Those Coffee boys are BIG and they will be a force come play off time. On the other hand what Lowndes clearly had over Coffee was speed. Lowndes looks just as fast as 2005 except in the backfield where they seem to be even speedier. Coffee was the most talented team Lowndes has played this year thus far. Which would have to make them the best team Lowndes has played thus far according to all of the talent makes great teams mongrols out there.

Stephenson needs respect? Perhaps they do not deserve it. 4 wins - 1 against a 4A school; 2 against 3A schools and only 1 against a 5A school that has only won one game. Perhaps Stephenson needs to earn some respect. Yes, I know DeKalb Co has a policy that does not allow their schools to play non-region games outside the county but a 4-0 record in this situation does not deserve a #1 ranking. Stephenson does have quality athletes but getting them to play as a team has been next to impossible in past years. That’s one reason they do not go very far in the play-offs. The other is the quality of teams they play.

O.K lets be serious you got stephenson, north cobb, and north gwinnett at #1,, #2, and #3 respectively but you have teams like m.l. king that has no losses and pounding their opponents badly at #10 that makes no sense. You had m.l king at #8 at the begining of the season with no losses they drop 2 spots that also makes no sense. What do they have to do you have teams higher than mlk that were not in the top 10 to begin with and now they are in there you got to be kidding. Get your ranking system right or not have one at all.
